Flinky: Hello world! I'm back. Another average-length chapter. Nothing too special today.

Blue: this is getting boring.

Flinky: Just because it's an average chapter doesn't mean it's not... interesting.

Red: This better be good. You've been leaving us on cliffhangers for the past 3 chapters.

Flinky: But I've always updated ahead of schedule after one.

Red: Fair enough.

"Look, Red, I know a way to bring Blacklight back."

"Wait, what?" She better not be messing with me.

"There is a way to bring him back."

"How?" I asked. If she was telling the truth, then there's a way to bring back my second oldest teammate!

"I'm sorry, but I cannot discuss it in front of Leaf and Michael. Blue should stay though."

I think I get the connection. Blue and I are remakes, but Leaf and Michael are not.

"Guys, can you go?"

"Sure," they both said simultaneously. "We have to go get dinner ready anyways," Leaf added on. They went to another area of our campsite, while Blue, Omni, and I stayed.

"Okay, now, we're going to have to have a class three meeting with the other legendaries."

She noticed ou confused stares.

"Our meetings are divided into three different classes. In class one, only the major legendaries like Lugia, Zekrom, Palkia, Groudon, me, etc. have to be there. This is to resolve issues that have no significance to both Pokémon or human lives, like the shape of the Earth or feuds between legendaries. Sometimes, Kyogre can be a pain…"

"Red, only one of your Pokémon would casually bash a god," Blue teased.

"If you're surprised you don't know me well enough," I replied.

"Moving on, class two is something that will impact few lives, or many but has an obvious solution. Like if an asteroid was coming at the Earth, we would have a class two meeting, then assign someone to deal with it. In this one, if a legendary is part of a trio, like Zapdos, one of the three has to go. Ones without trios, like Celebi, can choose if they want to come or not."

"Class three is the biggest. This involves the decision to end lives, or, in rare cases, restart them. Every legendary has to be there. This is where we'll make the decision to bring back Blacklight."

"But you said rarely. Why?" I asked.

"We never bring back lives unless it was our fault. Mewtwo wasn't directly our fault though, but I have a way to prove it in mind. Never mind that though. To start the meeting, we need the approval of three smaller legendaries plus a trio and five bigger ones."

"So, now we have to find 11 legendaries and convince them to start this meeting?"

"Yep."

"Does your vote count?"

"Of course. You need four more big ones though."

"Oh, I got an idea!" Blue said. He took out his Manaphy. I almost forgot about her.

"Manaphy, do you think you could put in a vote for a class three meeting?" he asked.

She looked from Blue, to Omni, to me, then nodded her head.

"8 more. Omni, do you think Zapdos could get his friends to agree?" I asked.

"They're not friends, but I think we can make it happen."

She closed her eyes, and did what I believe to be telepathy. When she opened them, she said "Weather birds are set. I could probably get Celebi to agree, and Cresselia will likely do it so it's against Darkrai. I'll have to ask them though."

She focussed for a bit longer this time, and came back with the same result.

"They said yes. Now, we have to get four major ones to agree."

"Great. You got any ideas?"

"Ho-oh may agree, she's taken a big liking to Ethan, but that's a maybe. Actually, I got an idea."

"What?" Blue asked.

"Groudon likes Team Magma and Kyogre likes Team Aqua. We could use that to support you, since both groups are against Team Rocket."

"So, assuming they all say yes, that's 3?"

"Yep…"

No one talked for a moment. It's not like Blue and I know every legendary personally.

"Xerneas would help us! She's in favor of life, and this is all about life."

"Well, work your magic," I said.

Omni telepathized with everyone on the list. Ho-oh ended up saying no, but Lugia stepped in and agreed instead.

"Well, what happens now?" Blue asked.

"Five...four...three...two-"

Omni's counting was interrupted by a bright flash that blinded us. Once we could see again, I noticed we were in a bright hall, with a lot of Pokémon. Not just regular ones though. Legendaries. Everyone had a seat and it all surrounded Arceus.

"I was off by a second."

A much louder voice boomed through the halls.

"This is emergency meeting number 143,248, called for by Mew."

I looked at the source of the noise, and it was Arceus. Several chapters ago, I would have been thrilled to see him up close, but the effect wore off by now.

As I thought that, Palkia started glaring at me.

Omni said "He hates fourth wall breaks."

'Got it,' I thought.

Arceus continued. "This is to determine whether to bring back the Umbreon known as Blacklight, or to leave him dead. Our spectators today are Red Ketchum and Blue Oak, both of whom are already acquainted with some of us. We would like Red Ketchum to come down and give an account of what happened at the events of Umbreon's death."

All of the Pokémon shifted their gaze towards me. Some were interested, others were bored, and I think Jirachi was sleeping.

"Okay," I started. I then gave the details of what happened involving Mewtwo, starting from actually fighting.

"Very well. However, this does not seem like a fault of one of us, and is therefore, rejected."

"OBJECTION!" Blue yelled, with his hair facing back rather than up and finger pointed at Arceus. "Mewtwo was a product of Team Rocket, made to destroy Red and I, and we were both made because of you. If you didn't make us, Team Rocket wouldn't have made Mewtwo, who wouldn't have killed Blacklight. Boom!"

Wow. Blue is actually helping me out.

"That is a fair point Mr. Oak, however, can you please refrain from yelling?"

"Sorry," he said.

"Now, would Yveltal, being the master of death, please speak on this issue?"

Yveltal flew up and started speaking, again through telepathy.

"This is fairly simple actually. It was Red's choice to send out his Umbreon, which lead to it's death."

"OBJECTION!" I looked around and saw a Celebi in a similar pose to that of Blue' looked at her.

"Sorry, but it's so much fun. Anyways, Blacklight was Red's only obedient Dark-Type Pokémon at this time. He needed a Dark-Type to combat Mewtwo."

"Anything to say about that?" Arceus asked.

"OBJECTION!" This time Giratina was just floating, since it's near impossible for him to do the pose Blue did. "Red didn't have to fight Mewtwo. It was on his own volition."

"As I have said before, please refrain from shouting."

"OBJECTION!" yelled Meloetta, again, in the pose.

Arceus mumbled something in Pokéspeak, which sounded like something along the lines of "I give up."

"Red was created to combat Team Rocket and their abilities, which means, in turn, he has to fight Mewtwo eventually. It was just that he battled him now, out of self-defence."

"See? There it is," Yveltal said. "By the logic you're going on, isn't every unnatural death our fault, since we made everything?"

"But you didn't make every Pokémon to kill another Pokémon. You did make Red to take down Mewtwo."

"Very well. Any further comments?"

No one spoke/telepathized.

"Then it's time to decide. Will the defendants, their supporters, and their adversaries please remain in here, while the others deliberate."

Arceus left the room followed by every legendary except for Omni, Celebi, Meloetta, Xerneas, Yveltal, and Giratina.

"So what happens now?" I asked.

"Those of us who haven't already taken a side are brought into a room to vote on the case. It's majority rules."

"Okay then."

I was really freaking out on the inside. If I won, then Blacklight is coming back! But if I fail, then it's all over. Come on Red, keep yourself together.

After what seemed like an eternity, everyone re-entered.

"Red Ketchum, after careful consideration and thought, we have chosen to deny your request to revive Blacklight the Umbreon, under the reasoning that it had little to do with us. Emergency meeting 143,248 is now over."

It's...it's over. I'm not… Blacklight is gone.

"Why?... Why him?"

"Come on Red. Blacklight wouldn't want you to cry over this, right?" Omni offered.

"That doesn't change the fact that an innocent Pokémon was killed because of me."

My eyes started watering.

"Red, look at me," Blue said.

I started moving my head up at him.

"Do you see that portal by Giratina?" he whispered

Blue pointed at a black portal that was starting to form near Giratina. How does that… oh, I like it. Blue has really changed.

"Kadabra can teleport us there. We jump through, and it takes us to the Distortion World, where Blacklight is."

"How are we going to get out though?"

"Giratina's orb is over there." He pointed toward a set of three pedestals, one of which had a yellow/gold orb thing on it. "It's very special to him. We jack the orb, jump in, and find Blacklight. Then, we go to Giratina and trade him the orb for a way out."

"Who are you and what have you done with Blue?"

"Now's not the time for jokes. We don't have much time."

"Right."

"Kadabra, let's go!" Blue said, quietly.

"We have to do this fast Kadabra. Go for the golden orb, come back to us, then take the two of us to the portal."

He looked shocked before smiling.

"Do it," Blue commanded.

It all happened in an instant. When Kadabra teleported to the orb, Pokémon started looking. Once he grabbed it and teleported out, attacks started flying. Then, we teleported behind Giratina. He realized it, but not before we jumped through. Omni followed us, but he closed the portal soon after.

Blue and I caught our breaths.

"What were you two thinking?! You stole from GIRATINA! GIRATINA! The Pokémon who was BANISHED because of his violence! Now, you're trapped in the Distortion world!"

Blue put the orb in his bag. Omni looked into our minds, and figured out our plan.

"Well, that's the smartest way to do a stupid plan."

"So, now we get to find Blacklight," I said.

"Yep," Blue confirmed. "I know a way to so we don't have to trudge mindlessly through the, well, whatever this place is."

I looked around and took in the scenery. There was grey grass, gravity-defying water, and floating islands. Great.

"Omni, you coming with us?" I asked.

"...Fine. But I'm not going in my ball yet."

"Fair enough," I said.

"Okay, so Red, can I see Blacklight's ball?"

"Sure," I responded, throwing the Poké Ball to Blue.

He started pressing the button on it. Eventually, the red portion of the ball had a green grid over it, with a black and white dot on it.

"This is the Pokémon Locater. Normally, only professors and law enforcement should know about it, but Gramps showed me a couple years ago. I didn't really think it would come in handy though, at least not until I joined."

"Honestly Blue, thank you."

"Don't mention it. Now, the black dot is Blacklight and the white dot is us. According to this, it's about five miles."

"Why do we have to walk though? Omni, you wanna help me out?" I asked.

"Alright. I guess that it's pointless to talk reasoning into you anyways. What Pokémon do you want?"

"Let's go Pidgeot," I said.

"On it."

"Fearow, let's go!" Blue called.

Once both of our Pokémon were ready, we took off, following the black dot. After a half-mile, we came across some Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist. They were not happy. They launched several attacks at us, but did not know that both of Our Pokémon were Normal-Types, and did no damage.

Once we got past the Pokémon, there was a large structure. It was one floor but huge. There was also a door.

We touched down in front of it, and Blue returned his Fearow. I had Ignite melt the lock, and we entered.

The first thing we noticed was several Haunters. They all had a Shadow Ball charged, but released it when they saw Omni.

"Lady Mew, why have you come to the Distortion world? Or brought two human spirits, with a Charmeleon?" asked one of the Haunters

I looked at Omni for an explanation.

"All of Giratina's minions can use telepathy. As for why I'm here, the council issued a revive for an Umbreon named Blacklight. This was his trainer."

"Alright," Haunter said. "He came in a while ago. I'll point you in right direction."

He gave Omni directions in Pokéspeak. After a while, Omni said "Thanks. We'll be on our way."

"We were honored by presence, Lady Mew."

Once we were past them, I asked "Do most Pokémon treat you like that?"

"The ones that believe in me."

As we were walking down a hall, a voice came over the building.

"Attention all guards: Three individuals have entered the Pokémon portion of the Distortion World and are still alive. They are two human teenagers, one wearing red and the other wearing blue, and Lady Mew herself. They are believed to be looking for an Umbreon, nicknamed Blacklight. Find and eliminate the teenagers. Lady Mew is to be sent back into the standard world of the living. That is all."

Shit.

-Blacklight's POV-

Well, honestly, death sucks. It hurt like hell. I was almost done perfecting Psychic too. Oh well. It did allow me to talk to Fire Red for a short amount of time. Once I was supposed to die though, I instead blacked out.

When I woke up, I was in a room with other unconscious Pokémon. A Pumpkaboo noticed me and said "Follow me." I did so, given that there was nothing else to do.

We went into a long, wide hall. It had several lines of Pokémon in it.

"This is where we pass judgment on your lives. If you did good things, then you get to live in the Upper Distortion World. If you have hurt others for no good reason, you are to rot in the Lower Distortion World."

"Okay then."

Then, I heard an announcement.

"Attention all guards…"

Of course Red followed me here. What else?

The Pumpkaboo turned to me and asked "Are you Blacklight?"

"No. I know the humans they're talking about but never met them personally."

"Continue on then."

Then, I heard the voice I thought I would never hear again.

"Ignite, roast the pumpkin!"

I looked up and saw Fire Red, alongside Ignite, Omni, and Blue.

"Blacklight! I thought I lost you!"

"Of course you, of all else, defy death to save me."

"Wait, did you just…"

"I was working on using Psychic abilities, and telepathy was one of the steps."

I ran up to Red, and stood by him.

"Well, now we gotta get out. I take it you want to be out of your ball?"

"Of course."

"Ignite, you mind taking a break?"

My fellow Pokémon nodded, as Red called him back.

-Red's POV-

"Sorry to ruin your moment, but Giratina is outside," Blue said.

"Well, let's go!"

I had Omni blast a hole in the wall, so we went straight out to Giratina.

"YOU! YOU STOLE MY ORB! NOW, YOU MUST PAY!"

"Relax," I said. "We'll give you your orb back if you let us out of here."

"So that was your plan? Pathetic if you ask me, given that it's right here."

He lifted the orb I thought we took using some Psychic move.

"Blue, check your bag."

He opened it, and inside was just a couple rocks.

"I control this dimension! Here, I am god! I control everything! You-"

"Master Ball, go," someone said casually. Blacklight jumped up and deflected the incoming Master Ball. It didn't open on him, since Blacklight was already mine. He took the ball and gave it to me.

"Annoying little pest." I looked around and saw an oddly dressed man, with blue hair.

"Omni, do you want to?"

"Sure."

Before the man realized what was happening, his Poké Ball belt was ripped off and thrown on the ground, while he was lifted up.

"Wait, what? I just had to catch Giratinna. How did it change into this?" He looked at me.

"Oh, just bad luck. The leader of Poké Underground happens to be here. What are the odds?"

"Who are you, who are you with, and what do you want?"

"Why, I'm Saturn, of Team Galactic."

Red: And another cliffhanger. Seriously?

Flinky: I wanted to get this chapter out today, and it would have taken too much time to write in more.

Red: You really suck.

Flinky: Also, another team is getting introduced. Only 4 more.

Red: There's Rocket, Magma, Aqua, Galactic, Plasma, and Flare. There's only two more that need to be introduced.

Flinky: When did I say that they were all in the core games?

Michael: I really think it would be more obvious.
