Lovely LMM: So finally insert the wolf pack and Kagome's past! Yay! Oh yeah long chapter to boot!

~Memorabilia and Wolf Pack~

March 11th (Kagome's Apartment)

She didn't know what to feel.

Happiness, sadness, anger, relief, everything felt mixed up inside her.

On her desk was a wooden box that was once plastered with sutra's with her name engraved on the top one. The box itself had seals all over it to ward off thieves and time itself. Even made from wood of the Sacred Tree of Ages.

A box she made with Miroku's help.

After exhausting almost all of her emotions she settled on relief. Her powers had beat the well's or whoever's magic. They erased everything else, but not this box.

Her mother found it one day while cleaning out the storage. Apparently Ji-chan's father dug it up years ago, but could never open it, so left it hidden in the back of the storage. Her powers had preserved the contents.

'When mom saw my name on it, she felt like it was meant for me so she sent it here. If only she knew.'

In Kagome's hand was a picture. She had the film from the box developed two days ago.

It was taken over 500 years ago. Nearly three days before she was roughly taken from the feudal era.

~Flashback~

"Is Inuyasha coming?"

Miroku shook his head lightly.

"He wanted to but the council meeting with the youkai elders cannot be held off and as Sesshoumaru's brother he has to be present. He said he was deeply saddened to not be here for you and Yukiko."

Kagome's sent him a small smile to fend off his worried face.

"Oh well I guess there is nothing to be done but carry on. Yukiko sweetie we're gonna have to do the portrait without daddy ok." Even though she was disappointed that she wouldn't be taking her New Year's photo with her mate she wouldn't waste such a beautiful and special night with her daughter.

Her four-year old daughter's lower lip wobbled her eyes watering, "B-but Otou-san said he'd be here."

She kneeled down next to her pouting little girl, comforting her daughter.

"I know sweetie, but he's doing important stuff for uncle Sesshy. Otou-san will take one with us next time, okay?"

Yukiko wanted to put up a fuss, but mommy had put her in the pretty dress for the New Year spring festival and she wanted daddy to see her in it.

"Alright, but I really wanted Otou-san to see me all pretty." She said while twiddling her thumbs, her little black tail swishing back and forth.

She nodded, "And he will; when he comes home I'll let you wear an even more beautiful dress and we can take another picture together," she consoled her daughter while handing Miroku her disposable camera they used sparingly over the years.

They had only used it for important events such as her and Inuyasha's wedding, when she gave birth to Yukiko, her first steps, etc.

~End of Flashback~

The pictures couldn't be developed obviously in that time, so she with Miroku's help devised a way to keep them through many spells and levels of barriers. If she or Inuyasha didn't live long enough for her mother to see them one day.

The sutras could only be removed if either her or her mother's hands touched it. But the sutras hadn't been removed since her mother felt she it was meant for her..

"Thank you Kami-sama, because I do not know how I could explain a girl looking exactly like me with a child in the feudal era." Sure she could lie and say it could've been an ancestor that looked a lot like her, but her mother would know. Even though she wasn't a priestess her mom had great insight at times and always knew when something was amiss. 'It took forever to convince her nothing was wrong when I first returned to the modern era.'

Her whole desk was covered in pictures in various sizes. She had them all developed as soon as she had the chance. Several already hung on the wall, the formal ones at least. Along with one of her, Inuyasha, and Yukiko together when she was a baby.

Thinking about Yukiko made her cry even more.

She was the spunkiest little spit fire four year old she had ever met. A perfect combination of both of her parents, born seven months after their wedding. Yukiko had her father's strength and courage, but her mother's looks and pure heart. She hadn't been born with ears like Inuyasha instead had claws and a sleek black tail.

Kagome remember the last time she held her daughter in her arms.

Her memory of that day would never fade after all it was the last day her daughter was alive.

~Flashback~

Shippo was blubbering, "Mamma...hic hic," and everyone else trying to hold back their tears as she held Yukiko in her arms sitting on the lip of the well.

Her husband and mate placd sweet kisses on her lips and their mating mark. Dropping one on the crown of Yukiko's head as she lay slumbering in her mother's arms.

"I swear I'll live and I'll find you both one day," he whispered his promise in her ear as she nodded, not even holding back her tears. "We'll be together again and we can work on giving Yukiko a younger sibling."

"Baka-yasha, you better. Cause Yukiko and I need you and don't even think of straying or I'll murder you a-and the Yukiko will be fatherless and I'll be mateless and and...," she was babbling now. She was trying to find more to say so she could stay longer not waning to part from him, but she felt the well's pull even stronger to where it hurt to even breath the feudal era's clean air.

"Baka mate, your crazy you know that. Go I'll find you I promise."

She nodded.

Hugging him one last time with all she had whispering in his ear, "I don't think I'll we'll have to work on the second part Yash."

Inuyasha's eyes widened, his searching gaze falling to her womb. She mouthed two months as she pushed off the lip of the well.

As she fell she shouted out to Inuyasha.

"Inuyasha aishteru!"

Inuyasha called her name but by that time she couldn't hear him any more.

~End of Flasback~

Losing both her children had been devastating; the main reason for her depression. She had an inkling of what her mother must've felt that time Inuyasha brought her back to her world after receiving a pretty serious injury and she ended up needing serious medical help.

The thought of losing a child was heart-wrenching, but it was nothing to what she felt, because she knew they were gone.

'I should have known. I was foolish to believe that the well would allow it.'

Her children were a product of the past, half of Inuyasha's blood. But she thought since they had half her blood the well would allow it, but it hadn't.

She hated remembering that day. When her little daughter's body started fading away right in her arms. 'My sweet Yukiko had woken up crying out my name before she was nothing. Then the feeling of a ghostly presence ripping my unborn child from my womb.' All in the span of a minute as she ended up on the other side of the well. It haunted her to this day, she simply pushed those dark feelings to a locked box in her head.

But these pictures they would serve as her memorabilia. Everything she experienced over eight years in the feudal era were in those pictures.

Her husband, her daughter and Shippo, her sister Sango, her brothers Miroku and Sesshoumaru, her nieces and nephews along Rin and Kohaku. Births, first steps, weddings, family portraits, it was all in there.

A little over forty pictures summed up all of their existence. It brought happy feelings and sad ones. Happy to have them, sad that so little summed up what she considered her whole life.

Kagome walked over to the little shrine she had placed for her father and kneeled. She lit an incense placing the small photo of her feudal family next to her father's.

Bowing with her head touching the floor.

"Kami-sama I've cursed and cried for this and I grateful. I truly am grateful."

She lit another incense to thank the kamis. Even if they ripped her from them they had given her back something. No longer was it just in her memories, now she had something to truly remember them by. Kagome spent the rest of the day putting them in photo albums and scrapbooks.

When she was done, she got a text message from Bella asking if she could come over. Quickly texting an o.k. and stashing away the albums. She got ready. Checking her face first; washing away her dried tears and put on her happy face before walking out the door.

Bella's House

Kagome pulled up and Bella was thankful.

"Hey Kagome!"

"Hey Bella, so what was so important it had me about to break the speed limit and my shotgun."

"Jacob," was all she said.

Kagome locked her car closing the distance between them with a little breathing space. "Is something wrong? I know you were in the ER for the bike thing. Did he crash? Is he ok?" She asked, cursing mentally wondering if not telling Charlie about the bikes had been a good thing.

"What, no he's fine well not fine, oh just get in the car we'll talk on the way."

Nodding Kagome got inside the car as Bella started it up taking off towards La Push.

When they arrived Kagome stayed in the car and waited until Bella returned driving off.

"Where are we headed Bella, did you warn Jacob?" She asked concerned as Bella tapped the wheel as she drove.

"Huh, oh yeah. He was asleep but I told Billy, Jacob's dad. I also told him when he wakes up to meet me at the beach," she said resuming her pitter patter on the wheel.

Kagome nodded, honestly she didn't know what to think. When Bella told her about Jacob and his pack she wasn't surprised even confiding she had felt something off with them and already kind of knew they were wolves. But hearing they were killers was surprising mainly cause Embry didn't strike her as a killer. Of course Bella knew about her gifts and asked if she could come along to be safe.

She had wondered why Bella had asked her to bring the shotgun.

When they pulled up along the road next to the beach, Bella got out. "Hey you want me to come with?"

Bella shook her head, "No I trust Jacob it was the others I was afraid of."

"Ok, if you need me I'm here."

She ended up playing pacman on her phone, ignoring the two lovebirds on the beach arguing. Although she was relieved to hear Jacob and his pack weren't killers—at least not human killers. When Bella joined her back in the car, but the scared look on her face had her reaching out giving her a comforting squeeze and a reassuring smile that she was here.

Bella smiled glad to have Kagome there.

"Oh yeah I forgot to tell Jacob that you know ok."

Kagome nodded, although somehow she knew what came next wouldn't be so pleasant.

A sharp rap on the truck's window made Bella yelp in terror—but it was just jacob, back already. Bella reached over unlocking the door with trembling, grateful fingers since Kagome sat in the driver's seat.

"You're really scare, aren't you?" Jacob asked as he climbed in.

Bella nodded.

"Don't be. We'll take care of you—and Charlie, too. I promise."

At Kagome's snort, Bella and Jacob's private bubble was broken.

Jacob's face doing a whole 360.

"Bella what the hell is she doing here!?" He hollered, now worried about his pack.

Bella bit her lip, "Don't be mad, what was I supposed to do, I thought you were a killer up to ten minutes ago. I didn't have a clue what you or your pack were capable of and Kagome was the only person I knew who could keep your secret and hold a shotgun." She all but hollered back at him.

That seemed to shut him up.

A tense silence fell over the truck as Kagome as starrted up the truck.

"Uuh look Jacob, if it's any consolation Bella didn't have to tell me...I already knew," Kagome had a feeling her secrets weren't going to be secrets anymore.

Now Jacob looked at her curiously, "What do you mean you already knew?"

Had I slipped up and she saw me shift before? He didn't think so.

A weird laugh left her throat, "Actually i knew you were different before you probably even knew yourself...Let's just say I'm special and I sensed the wolf within when we first met."

Jacob was stunned to hear that she knew before him, which meant she probably knew about Embry, did she know if Quil would phase.

Bella tried to steer Jacob's searching gaze away from Kagome so she could concentrate on the road by asking where he went.

Kagome only interrupted to ask where they were going.

~oOo~

Kagome followed behind Bella who was being tugged by Jacob towards the meeting point.

Her gun she left in the car, confident she could place a barrier over Bella if it came to that.

When the four guys came out the forest, Kagome couldn't resist wolf-whistling, while Bella cowered at Jacob's side.

Jacob actually cracked a small smile, as did Embry, although he was curious as to why she was here.

The rest of the pack were curious and cautious as they came forward.

When they saw both Bella and Kagome, they were furious.

One the older looking ones of the four stepped forward, Kagome presumed he was the alpha.

"What have you done, Jacob?" he demanded.

Another stepped forwardd, one she didn't recognize—thrusting past the Alpha and spoke before Jacob could defend himself.

"Why can't you just follow the rules, Jacob?" he yelled, throwing his arms in the air. "What the hell are you thinking? Is she more important than everything—than the whole tribe? Than the people getting killed?"

"She can help," Jacob said quietly.

"Help!" the angry boy shouted. His arms began to quiver and Kagome silently began weaving a protective spell around Bella who was still at Jacob's side. "Oh, that's likely! I'm sure the leech-lover is just dying to help us out!"

"Don't talk to her like that!" Jacob shouted back.

'Yeah! You tell him Jacob!' Kagome mentally cheered, liking this boy a little more.

A shudder rippled through the other boy, along his shoulder and down his spine. A haunting suspicion told her the boy was going to shift. He definitely needed anger management. There were shouts, more convulsions, but Jacob moving to physically defend Bella incensed the boy's rage and he started to shift.

Next thing she knew Jacob was bounding forward, shifting mid-air. A gigantic, russet brown wolf taking his place.

Bella screamed Jacob's name, attempting to move forward, but Sam's words stilled her. Along with Kagome pulling her back into her embrace.

She mutely heard the alpha yelling for the others to take her and Bella to Emily's. While he ran kicking off his shoes, no doubt to go help settle the fight.

The boys laughter cut through the silence that came after the three wolves were gone.

"Well, there's something you don't see everyday," he snickered.

Kagome smiled, it seemed like Embry was much more laid back than she remembered and taller. Made her feel even shorter.

'Dammit everywhere I go everyone is always so fucking tall.'

Hearing Embry and the other boy joking around seemed upset Bella who was worried about Jacob, but they blew off her worry like it was nothing. And now they were betting who was going to win.

Kagome placed her hands comfortingly on Bella's shoulders.

"Bella it's alright their pack, so they won't hurt each other to bad, right Embry?" Kagome asked with a cheery smile on her face, although she knew from experience they wouldn't. Kouga's pack used to fight all the time, but the were all good in the end.

Embry blushed, Kagome's smile always did stuff to him on the inside. While Jared looked curiously between the two.

"Yeah," he answered her.

"See Bella nothing to worrying about! So let's go with these nice boys and we can get some answers that I know are filling that little head of yours."

Bella nodded only because it was Kagome.

Kagome ending up riding in the back, something about wanting to feel the wind in her hair after this hectic day, but she kept the back glass window open so she could hear their conversation and Embry's warning not to stare at Emily.

Somehow she knew even before they got there what he meant.

"So how are you involved," Jared asked curious.

The girl was a cutie not as cute as his Kim, but a definite hottie. Why was she here? Did Bella already spill the beans?'

Kagome shot him a look, "Bodyguard and friend."

"Bodyguard from what exactly?" Jared asked because the girl looked like he could break her in two.

Yet something about her screamed power to his instincts, along with a need to protect.

She giggled, "Axe murderers." When he shot her a skeptical look she lifted up a shotgun she kept in Bella's car. "I'm a perfect marksman."

That seemed to end their conversation.

When they arrive they went straight inside and Kagome saw Emily right away. She was beautiful even with her scar.

Listening to Bella and Emily introduce each other.

"Oh and who is this?"

Kagome walked forward, while Embry and Jared stared at her, along with Bella. Not really knowing how to describe her since Bella was the "Vampire girl' and Emily the "Wolf girl"

"Hi I'm Kagome, Bella's friend—"

"Don't fo-orget...mmm...body...guard," Jared said mid-chew disgusting all the girls.

"Oh well I'm Emily, please take a seat."

Kagome nodded, "Oh I almost forgot, Embry really didn't do you enough just your very beautiful," she said her hand lightly tracing down her scarred side. A little healing energy easing her pain. "Oh and if the pain ever feels like too much Bella can vouch for my healing abilities." She whispered in her ear, although both wolves could hear since they were so close.

She stood next to Bella, while Emily held her cheek.

For the first time the aching feeling she always felt on that side of her face was gone. Even the medication couldn't do that.

"T-thank you."

Kagome nodded, happy to oblige, before snagging a muffin Embry had right out of his hand, taking a large bite out of it. Jared and Emily laughed, while Bella smiled a little.

Embry pouted at the loss, before grabbing another.

When the three other wolves returned it felt like a party. The romantic moment between Sam and Emily had her turning her head, it reminded her too much of when Inuyasha used to return from helping some village, while she was pregnant with Yukiko.

Sweet moments like that she would never get back.

When Jake explained that what Victoria wanted was Bella, Kagome was not pleased, especially with Jared's bait comment, so when he caught the can-opener Jacob threw at his head she launch a spoon sitting oh so coviently on the counter at him, with just a small spark of miko energy.

Hearing a yelp and his glare on her she smirked.

"Bella is not bait."

"You know what I mean," Jacob said, still a little put off by the spoon that hurt more than he was sure it should have.

They talked about battle strategies that she half listened to.

When Sam asked if Bella had anywhere safe to go, Kagome answered before she could knowing Bella would say no.

"She can stay with me. I live by myself, but my place can be warded from vampires."

Jared laughed, "What like Harry Potter and spells kind shit?" he said jokingly.

When she didn't laugh he stopped. "Wait your serious, like you have—"

Kagome cut him off, addressing the alpha now.

"Look I faced against Victoria's mate myself last year," she said decided not to reveal how she got beat up. She would be prepared this time, "And I managed to injure him before any big damage could be done before Ed—the Cullens arrived. I have...special abilities that are great for fighting off vampires. I can even create sensors around the borders that Victoria won't be able to pick up on."

Sam interest was piqued.

And was going to ask more when Emily said food was ready and all strategic talk ended as everyone sat at the table gorging on food, except Bella and Emily. Kagome managed to steal a lot of food from Embry who whined over the lost food, but eventually accepted it. Especially when she offered him the extra muffin she had grabbed. Since she had foregone breakfast, Kagome welcomed the tasty brunch.

All of the pack were amused by her antics with Embry. All had a silent question in their mind, but didn't dare voice it out loud right now.

When they left returning to Jacob's house, Billy phoned Charlie explaining where Bella was.

He came over that night and they had pizza.

~oOo~

March 13th (Billy's House)

Bella hung out with Jacob, while Kagome helped Billy clean up the place.

It had only been two days, but she felt really close to Jacob's father. He kind of reminded her of her own father. They talked about sports, went fishing this morning, and now she was frying fish; while he peeled potatoes for dinner later on.

Emily and her even hung out earlier. The reserve just felt like home for her and she didn't feel out of place anymore. Not that she didn't like Forks but here she didn't feel like she wasn't hiding who she was.

They knew she was special, but they didn't treat her any differently.

"Well it's just men living here, but it's nice to have a woman around to help out." Billy said truly grateful for the help.

Raising Jacob tended to take a lot out of him and he was no young'n anymore.

Kagome nodded, "Don't worry I understand perfectly. My dad died when I was young and my ma was left to take care of me, my baby brother, my grandfather, and a whole shrine to boot. So when as I got older I naturally helped out. Taking care of people is second nature to me, especially when I got a second family—having to cook for eight people with hearty meals to tide them over till dinner was hard and that wasn't even half of it. Inuyasha would bicker how all he wanted was ramen, which I learned how to cook from scratch and calling Kouga a mangy wolf and..." and just like that Kagome stopped talking realizing she had been babbling about her past.

"And?" Billy asked, worried as he saw a haunted look pass through the girl's eyes.

'The same look I once had when Sarah died.'

Kagome realizing she was being weird, shook off her sadness.

They were different, Billy was different, maybe keeping it all bottled in was bad. Plus she didn't need to tell him everything. Talking to older people always seemed to help her anyway. Like Kaede, her mom, her uncle, Billy seemed like a wise man who could help her through her pain.

She sent him a small smile, "And they would fight, but I would hit them both over the head and tell them to cool it or they would starve."

Billy chuckled. 'She's like a younger version of Emily.'

Kagome set the fish she had fried on the table, placing the macaroni casserole next to it for their late lunch. "Wow smells good." Billy commented his mouth watering at the smell.

Calling Emily, whose number she now had in her phone, telling her that she made a hearty lunch and that the boys should take a small break and come eat.

"There's enough to feed an army here, you should take a break and relax. I'm sure making those huge meals everyday gets tiring. Take a break put your feet up and rest."

Emily agreed. She had been a little tired lately with the whole extra stomachs to feed did up her anty on cooking.

"You're very considerate," Billy commented, while Kagome pulled out several plates for when the boys got here.

She already had full command of his kitchen, which seemed to be the largest room in the house. The table big for just two people.

"Do you have other children," she asked looking at the extra chairs without thinking. That nosy side of her that always wanted answers reared its ugly head.

"Ah yeah, two daughters. Of course they left after they graduated, being in the same town where their mom died was hard for them. One's married, the other in college making her pa proud," he spoke with much love in his soft timber voice.

Kagome nodded.

"I can understand the feeling. I myself left Japan for that very reason, also to explore the world some more," she quickly added on the last part.

And his suspicions were confirmed. Was it her father's death?

"I don't wish to offend but..." he trailed off and Kagome shook her head.

"Oh no offence, you wanna know who. I was pretty nosy earlier not to mention acting so familiar in your house." And despite herself she told him something personal, something she hadn't even told her own mother.

"I lost my children and husband."

Billy Black had experienced a lot of things growing up, but the loss of a child he had not and hoped to never experience in his lifetime. "I'm sorry—"

Kagome shook her head, "It's okay. You know you're the first person I told—not even my mom knows—or more like she can't remember," she said bitterly sinking into the closest chair. She was surprised when she felt Billy hugging her and slowly the waterworks came and she cried for all she was worth.

When she was done, she resembled a puffy tomato. Billy chuckled telling her to go wash up.

"The boys we'll be here soon, you don't want them to see you like this do you?"

She shook her head running off to the bathroom.

And just like that the pressure building on her chest started to float away.

TBC. Yay! A happy moment for Kagome! Then sad...then happy...then sad again and finally happy. I really can't make up my mind today.

A/N: Honestly I was kind of mad at myself for making it to where no one remembered and she didn't have anything to remember them by (i.e since the scars are gone). And although Kouga didn't remember her a part of her would have kept hoping because she lacked closure, so by giving her something the kamis hope to give her that. Although it could've gone the other way; build up a whole shrine, go crazy from seeing her nonexistent family, etc. I also wanted to reveal the story behind what exactly happened.

I tried to keep the Bella and Jacob confrontation as accurate to the book as possible while adding in Kagome.

I decided Billy would make a good father figure for the story, someone to relieve her stress on and offer her comfort. Some will ask why not her mother instead of a complete stranger, but if you caught it in the story good for you—to others a part of Kagome is angry that her family forgot about her second family, even if it wasn't of their own volition. To Kagome they were her everything on equal par with her own biological family, so for them to forget whether she realizes it or not, she subconsciously feels like they have spurned her second family. Therefore spurned a part of her.
