Hey everybody it's Hao as always how've you been? This isn't my best chapter, a little more on the boring side I'll admit, nothing all that exciting till the end but there will be fluff so that's a good thing.
I have an announcement for anybody who's a D-Grey Man fan who likes the AllenXKanda (and reversed) for the last week of October I'm planning to post a small fanfiction that should be at least seven chapters. Check it out, the first chapter should be uploaded either the Thursday or Friday before Halloween. Be warned it'll be rated M so if you don't read that I do have the *Ehem* warned before hand so you can skip it.
Anyway, enough of that, I'll get the disclaimers and warnings done so you can get to reading.
Disclaimer: How about...no...
Warnings: Fluff, swearing, lack of excitment...and that's it...
Now enjoy. I hope anyway.
Chapter 21
After Flynn, Yuri and Repede finished getting there stuff together, unaware of the conversation going on with the guild members. Once they left Aspio all together they decided to head west to Ehmead Hill which leads to Nor Harbor. Karol happily chatted with Yuri about past jobs Brave Vesperia had and Yuri just listened with a small smile on his face.
The blonde next to him couldn't help but feel at ease with this group, even though they are practically on the run from both assassins and the Knights, his own companions, it just doesn't feel all that bad. He can tell his best friend feels the same just by the way he's interacting with the young boy, he hadn't once went to examine the area they were in after fighting monsters once. Well, it was either that or he was expecting the blonde to do that for him, either way he didn't seem to be worried about it all that much.
They had no problems going through Ehmead Hill though Yuri did complain about some of the bugs and how taking the normal path was boring. Flynn wacked Yuri over the head for that causing another small argument between them again. When Rita heard about a barrier blastia being there she was thrilled to go and examine it and see it get turned on. So they spent another (*Cough Cough* useless *Cough Cough*) hour there, annoying Judith as she freely expressed that if they didn't get moving soon she would destroy the blastia, of course she was careful in making sure the young mage didn't hear her say that.
After they finally continued on the path in silence it didn't last long when they arrived to a cliff that had a perfect view of the ocean. Yuri whistled, impressed by the view, they never actually got to see the ocean from Zaphias so this was probably one of the most amazing views he's seen. He glanced at Flynn to see him smiling at the view, Rita yelled at them to hurry up and catch up or they were gonna be left behind. Yuri was hesitant to leave, not wanting to say goodbye
Flynn couldn't hold back the opportunity to hold Yuri's hand, he made sure the others weren't watching when he leaned in and whispered in Yuri's ear. "Don't worry, we'll come again and take in the view longer." He pretended to not notice the slight shiver that went through Yuri, he had to ask himself if Yuri felt the same.
(Repede's PoV)
Repede couldn't hold back the snort as he watch the two friends interact, it was obvious that Flynn realized his feelings to Yuri but the assassin was still as oblivious as he was before. He watched Flynn drag Yuri toward the small guild that were still walking away.
He went after them and walked next to Judith who watched the two, Judith was an interesting person, she was the first Krityan he's ever met and she was really kind and good with animals.
He likes Rita as well, though the way she would glare at Yuri at times reminded him of Sodia, but not in a rude way, just an annoyed way. And he took a lot of joy annoying her when it was clear that she didn't like him that much.
He wasn't sure what to make of Karol, he was annoyed by how the kid confused him with a monster, though the few times he did scare him he took great pleasure out of doing. But he was a nice kid, and he definitely seemed to take the job as a guild leader seriously.
He stopped as he sniffed something...no...someone vaugley familiar, he looked behind the group to see if anybody was following them and looked in the woods. No one, was it his imagination or was the trail just recent enough for him to be able to trace it? He was careful as they walked just encase.
(3rd PoV)
While Repede was worrying over the strange scent the group had just finished defeating another monster when Karol pointed ahead of them, "Just another hour or so and we should be arriving at Capua Nor."
"Good thing to, the sky doesn't look like there'll be anymore sunshine for the rest of the evening." Yuri pointed out as everyone looked up and it was indeed getting very cloudy, and the clouds were a dark grey.
Rita huffed and crossed her arms, "Great," she started the sarcasticness in her voice obvious, "Now we just might get caught in the rain. Just wonderful!" She through her hands up and started walking, the rest following her.
Judith giggled a little, "Well we wouldn't have that problem if you hadn't stopped to look at the blastia at the top of Emhead Hill." She said eerily sweet towards the mage who turned around and glared at her.
Flynn shook his head and smiled at Yuri who smiled back, they were definitely a wierd group to be around when they started these kind of arguments but it was interesting.
Just like Karol had said they arrived at Nor Harbor an hour later, but the clouds didn't lighten up at all causing Yuri to frown. He didn't like storms anymore than Rita did, he wouldn't admit it but he hated getting his hair wet in the rain, it was a pain and took three hours to dry. The blonde had asked him many times why he never cut his hair when they were little, he never gave him a real answer but he finally stopped asking when he realized that the raven was no-way-in-hell going to cut his hair. The real reason? There wasn't one. He liked his hair the way it is, it was unique and he liked it the way it was and he wasn't gonna change it for anything.
Karol's first natural reaction they arrived was that he'll see when the next ship will depart to Dahngrest or if they'll have to take a ship to Torim Harbor on the Tolbycia Continent before they can. Rita made a beeline to the inn wanting to get inside before rain came and Judith went to take a look at the harbor with Karol. Repede went walking away somewhere to give the two boys some time 'alone.'
The went to look around, out of the corner of Flynn's eye he saw a newspaper for the day. He went over and picked it up while Yuri was looking for ingredients for tonight's dinner. As he skimmed through it the blonde sighed with relief as there was nothing about the incident in Zaphias, Flynn didn't know how fast news traveled on the continent of Nyccia so they had to get to Dahngrest quickly so they are gone when word get's here. He placed it down and went to join Yuri who was paying for the ingredients.
"So what are we making today for dinner?" Flynn asked as he helped Yuri with one of the bags that seemed to have sweets in it.
Yuri looked over the stuff in the bag he was holding as he spoke, "We aren't cooking anything, I'm going to be making burgers, and a cake."
"What flavor?" Flynn asked, he liked cake and Yuri knew this fact very well.
"That's my secret, you'll find out after dinner okay?"
"Fine." Flynn mumbled as they arrived at the inn, they asked the owner of the inn if they could use the kitchen. After getting the A.O.K, they went into the Kitchen they placed the stuff down and Yuri quickly kicked Flynn out of the Kitchen and got started.
The blonde sighed and went to the lobby where the girls and Repede were sitting around, Judith was polishing her lance and Rita was reading through one of her books and Repede was napping on the floor. He went to sit down with them and Rita looked up from her book, "What's with the look?"
Flynn ran a hand through his hair shaking his head, "Yuri kicked me out of the kitchen." Repede stood up and jumped up onto the couch and layed his head on Flynn's lap who started petting his head.
"Why is that?" Judith asked looking away from her spear and at the blonde.
"Yeah you can't be a bad cook can you?" Rita asked crossing her arms.
Repede whined and put his paws over his ears at that, signaling that it couldn't be more right. But the two of them didn't notice that so they kept looking at the blonde for an answer. "You'd be...surprised." Is all he said.
The door opened, "Bad news guys," Karol said as he walked up. "There isn't a ship going to Dahngrest for the next week. There is a ship for Torim Harbor the day after tomorrow." Flynn felt his heart drop at that, he and Yuri needed to get out of there the next day, it may be an extra day there but every day they spend there is a day lost to fix things.
"Are you sure there isn't a boat at all tomorrow?" He asked, hiding the panic he was feeling inside.
"Sorry Flynn, I did my best but there arent' any ships going out tomorrow." He was upset that he let the blonde down, he wished he knew what was going on with them to help but they never said anything more about themselves that would give them a hint.
"No it's okay Karol, I know we should be taking our time and not stressing it out, it's just I've always been a busy person, Yuri's the more layed back out of the two of us and I don't know how he does it, I like getting things done quickly." It was true, though every Captain wanted to put off their paperwork and Flynn was no different, but unlike them he at least had the drive to get it done when he was given it unlike Captain Schwann.
"Well guess what blondie, your stuck here for another day." Rita said and he sighed.
Another hour later Yuri finally left the kitchen and announced that dinner was done. Once everyone was settled with their food they all started eating, complementing Yuri on his cooking again. Judith had asked the grey eyed male how bad Flynn's cooking was, expecting the answer to be 'not all that bad' but all he said was that they didn't want to know, and to never...EVER try Flynn's cooking, earning a glare and a smack on the back of his head getting a couple of chuckles from the others.
After all the dishes were cleaned up the oven went off, "Woops, done sooner than I thought." Yuri said as he put on oven mitts and took out a cake and placed it one top of the oven, turning it off.
"Did you make a cake Yuri?" Karol asked as he looked at the pan seeing steam rise from it.
"Yeah, hey can you bring the others back here in another hour, it should be cooled enough by then." Karol happily nodded and left the room.
Just like Karol promised everyone joined back up in the kitchen seeing Yuri cut a cake, Flynn beamed when he was given a piece finding out that it was indeed vanilla and didn't hesitate to dig into it.
"Not only are you a chef, but you're a baker as well? Is there anything you can't do Yuri?" Judith asked him as she took a bite out of her piece.
He sat down and thought about that, "Climbing trees...now wait I can do that...um...follow a schedule...yeah that's right." Flynn smiled at that, Yuri was always late for training, late when it was time for guard duty. "And I spent a little more than half a year as a baker, nothing big, I like cooking so I figured why not."
After everything was finally cleaned up for good everyone went of to bed. In the boy's room there was a little predicament. There were only two beds, and not three.
"Sooo...how are we gonna do this?" Karol asked. Yuri suggested he could sleep on the couch and Flynn automatically said no, saying that he wouldn't allow that, accidentally letting his protectiveness of him out a little. Yuri blushed a little making sure neither of them saw it. They finally made a decision (albeit reluctantly), Karol will sleep on his own and the two young adults will share a bed.
Meanwhile in Zaphias...
Raven sighed as he finished the last of the paperwork his brother was supposed to be doing, there hasn't been a single word from since he left and Raven was starting to think he should take leave to go to Dahngrest to make sure he was alright, and to make sure the two boys are alright. He leaned back and but his hands behind his head and looked up at the ceiling thinking when someone knocked on the door and a slight timid voice came from the other side. "R-Raven? Are you in there?"
Raven sat up straight surprised, only a handful of people knew that he was posing as his brother during his absence. And by the sound of the voice he had an idea of who it was, "Come." He says as he moved the paperwork to the side as the door opened revealing the pink-haired princess. She looked slightly worried, she looked quickly behind her and entered the room closing the door and walked in front of him as he stood up and bowed. "How can I help you Princess Estellise?"
"Estelle please, and I need to talk to you, about something important, and you're the only one I can trust with it." Her tone was very serious with some worry and doubt.
He raised and eyebrow, "What is it Estelle?"
Well, very boring chapter I know, but there wasn't really much to say in it, guess it could be a little bit of filler between places or whatever. Got a bit of Repede's Point of View again. It felt a little short so I added that last bit to leave a cliff-hanger. I found it a bit cute to have Yuri make a vanilla cake for Yuri, and how earlier Flynn flirted with him, let me know If that was okay cause I'm not very good with all that stuff and I'm trying to get a little more of that somewhere in the next five chapters.
See you later!
