Chapter Twenty-One

Beca and Chloe have finally started the wedding planning and they were both regretting it. They were up to their necks in anything and everything wedding wise.

"Why did we decide to do something a bit bigger than last time? It's so much work!" Beca whined, throwing her head back and slightly pushing one of the magazines off of her lap.

Chloe couldn't help but laugh in agreement. This really is stressful, but neither know exactly why. "I'm honestly wondering the same exact thing right now, Bec. Believe me."

The two looked at each other with despair written all over their faces, but got a laugh out of each other from how hard they were making this seem.

Deciding to take a break, Beca quirks a brow and quickly pushes everything off the table before pulling Chloe close to her and kissing her heatedly. This is the first time they were alone in what's seemed like forever and they were definitely going to make the most of it.

"Oh God, I think that was the best sex I've had in a while," Chloe said breathlessly, pushing her hair from her now sweaty forehead.

"I didn't think you were ever gonna stop," Beca said in a serious tone and a shocked look on her face causing Chloe to laugh and swat at her arm.

Taking a few more minutes to catch their breath, Chloe collected her clothes and walked naked from the living room into the bedroom so she could take a shower, knowing Beca wouldn't follow since she was too tired, but the brunette surprised her when she felt Beca's arms wrap around her bare waist as the water hit the two of them.

"I'm surprised you can even walk." The redhead teased.

"Me? What about you? How are you even able to stand?" Beca asked, kissing Chloe gingerly. To be honest, she was just happy that her and Chloe are finally alone for more than ten minutes and they definitely made the most of it and even though she's tired, she could probably go again but she knows that they can't.

"I know what you're thinking," Chloe says. She could see it written on the brunette's face - a hopeful expression - but quickly shuts her down. "We can't though because Lindsay will be home shortly."

"I love you."

Chloe turns her head to look at Beca as she's getting dressed, "I love you too."

Beca smiles and gets up to envelope Chloe in a hug and rest her chin on the taller girl's shoulder. "You really make me the happiest woman, and as much as I hate wedding planning because it's torture, it all makes it worth it because at the end of the day, I will be remarried to the most amazing woman ever and everything will be amazing."

Chloe brought her hand up to cup the shorter girl's right cheek and kiss her left one. "I love you like this and all, but why are you getting so sappy on me lately Mitchell?"

Beca shrugged, "No reason, I just want to."

"Ah, well, as much as I love it, we need to finished getting dressed. Lindsay will be back from my mom's then she has to get ready because she has a soccer game today, remember?"

"Shit!" Beca mumbles, dropping her head. "I might have to miss this one because I have to meet with my client today." She always made sure to never miss one of Lindsay's games and right now she was feeling horrible because she didn't know about it.

"Hey," Chloe lifts her chin to look in her eyes, "it's one game and Bug will be completely fine with it, alright? I'll make sure to record it for you."

"I know, but this is the first one I'll be missing and I'm always there."

Chloe hates how disappointed her girlfriends looks and sounds. She sighs softly and places a soft kiss on the brunette's lips.

"Beca, sweetie, Lindsay will understand okay? I mean it."

Beca just nods and just as Chloe pulls her shirt on, the doorbell rings so she goes to answer it.

Being so busy with Beca earlier, she didn't realize that everything was sill scattered all over until Kensi points it out.

"Hi Chloe," She greets, looking around as Lindsay runs in and gives Chloe a hug. "I see you guys have been... Busy today?" She gives Chloe a quizzical look.

Chloe can't help the chuckle that leaves, looking behind her quickly. "Yeah, something like that..."

"Mama, where's Mom? Are you guys coming to my game today?" Lindsay asked enthusiastically since she's finally playing because she doesn't have a cast on anymore.

Just as Lindsay asked, the older brunette comes out from their room, "Hey Sweetie! I'm really sorry and hate to say this, but I can't come to your game today. I have to meet with a client, but I will try my hardest to make it."

"Okay, Mom. It's fine." Beca looked a little confused. She didn't really know what reaction she was expecting to receive, but it wasn't exactly that.

"Oh, she has a game today?" Kensi asked, clearly oblivious to the conversation that just went on.

"Yes she does. I'm sure you and Dad can come if you'd like."

Kensi nodded with a smile, "I'll make sure we're there, what time?"

"5:30, but we're leaving in about ten minutes because Lindsay needs to get there early for warm ups and everything."

"Ah, I remember those days with you," They chuckle, "I most definitely wasn't a fan of having to get up at six thirty in the morning for practice or game day."

"Hey, me neither!" Beca interjects, and Chloe laughs. "Baby, you don't even like getting up for work, I almost have to drag you out of bed." She says.

Finally arriving at the soccer field, Lindsay rushes out of the car to start warm ups. Chloe smiled because she loves seeing how much Lindsay enjoys the game and often wonders if she would've kept playing if she didn't injure herself so badly her senior year of high school.

She'd never admit it, but she wanted to play on the Women's US soccer team. Being a doctor was a back up plan, but she knew that whichever she did, she would enjoy; and she does, she loves being a doctor.

"Penny for your thoughts?" She was so focused on her thoughts and jumped when she heard Dan's voice.

"Yeah, hey Dan." She said, her eyes widening when she noticed who asked. "Dan?!" She said again and instantly wrapped her arms around her brother.

"Hey, Sis," Dan said with a chuckle. When Chloe pulled away, she noticed he was in his fatigues and their parents were walking up behind him.

"Why didn't you ever tell me you were leaving or coming back for that matter?" Chloe asked, hitting his arm.

"Because I knew you'd react like this." He joked, "I wanted it to be a surprise."

Chloe rolled her eyes, but she had a smile on her face and quickly looked over at Lindsay. "I think you should go surprise my little girl who's been wanting to see you again." She suggested.

He nodded and followed his sister's gaze. Once he saw Lindsay, he made his way over to her and picked her up from behind. Everyone could hear her squeal and when she realized who it was, she instantly wrapped her arms around her uncle's shoulders.

"Mama, Uncle Dan is here!" Lindsay said excitedly as he carried her back over since they were taking a break.

"I know!" Chloe's bright smile matched Lindsay's. "It's nice seeing him in person rather than over Skype, huh?"

The hyper little girl nodded enthusiastically, glad that he'll be able to see her game. When she left, Dan turned back to Chloe.

"So, Mom and Dad told me that you and Beca are getting remarried. Is that true?"

"It is," Chloe says matter-of-factly. "Word gets around fast, I see."

He chuckled, "I'm happy for you. She's good for you, you know. When I first saw you again all those months ago broke my heart because you looked horrible."

"Oh thanks, you looked amazing yourself," Chloe said sarcastically. "I know that though, trust me. Everyone has been saying that."

Lindsay's team lost this game and you could see the disappointment on her face, but Chloe knew how to cheer her up.

"How about we go get something to eat, call Mom and see if she's still at the studio and maybe we'll stop by if she isn't busy?"

"Yeah! Please!" Lindsay loves Beca's studio and being able to sometimes help Beca with everything.

They said bye to Chloe's family and made their way to a small diner and ordered food.

"Wanna know a secret, Bug?" Lindsay looked up from her food when she heard Chloe speak, but because she was eating, she nodded.

"You know how I played soccer?" Lindsay nodded again. "Well, I've never told anyone this, but from the time I was about your age, I wanted to join the Women's US soccer team."

Chloe watched Lindsay's face light up and she spoke as soon as she finished eating, "Really?! I've thought about it."

"Really. It's a lot of hard work, but I think you could do it if you really want to and put your mind to it.

"Why didn't you do it?" Lindsay questioned.

"I injured myself when I was in high school and I couldn't play anymore, but that's okay because I'm perfectly happy being a doctor and how my life is now."

Once they finished eating, Chloe made sure they could stop by the recording studio, which they could. When they got into the small building, Lindsay instantly made her way to the sound table.

"Thanks for bringing her by," Said Beca, kissing Chloe gently and turning to look at her daughter.

"Of course. She needed to be cheered up and I know her two favorite things: food and coming here." Chloe responded softly with a gentle laugh. They were watching as Jesse was letting Lindsay help figure out a sound for a track he as working on.

Arriving back home later that night, both Beca and Chloe groaned, forgetting about all the wedding planning stuff scattered across the floor.

"I say we just screw doing anything that includes a lot of planning and just kinda do it," She paused, "Or get Aubrey to plan everything for us."

Chloe laughed hard, "You thought Aubrey was bad in college? Oh honey, you have no idea what you would be getting yourself into. Aubrey turned into bridezilla for her own wedding; it was actually quite scary and I definitely would not like a repeat of that."

When it came to planning, both women were like high schoolers who would rather just wing something that they most definitely shouldn't wing, but after seeing everything they'd have to do just for a small wedding, who could blame them?

After getting Lindsay showered and ready for bed, the two women went into the living room to clean up and relax. Chloe let out a sigh as she propped her feet up on the couch and laid her head in Beca's lap immediately feeling her small fingers run through the fiery red curls. Beca noticed Chloe's breathing get even after about ten minutes, so when she was absolutely sure the redhead was asleep, she picked her up and carried her into the bedroom. Chloe stirred lightly but she was already in clothes that she can comfortably sleep in, so Beca quickly changed and got into bed and turned the lights off, snuggling right up to Chloe.

Before fully going to sleep, she kissed Chloe's red curls and whispered. "You are the most amazing woman in the world and the best mother. I hope to have another kid with you one day."

It wasn't a lie. They may have never talked about having kids when they were first together or even married, but Beca has grown and in the back of her mine, she did want a kid someday, but she was always too scared because of how her circumstances were when she got pregnant with Lindsay. Now, she can imagine a house full of kids. Maybe just another one or two, but still. The thought made her smile as she drifted off to sleep.

AN: Okay, so wedding will be coming up soon. I wanted this chapter to be more family oriented with Chloe again because I'm really having fun writing that. This little bit of wedding planning is probably all you'll get since I honestly don't know anything about it.
