End of Episode 133 (S6, E21):
Gabrielle, Kenji, and other soldiers walk through a war torn area. Fog twirls around them, "Wouldn't it be better if we stayed with Xena?"
Gabrielle responds, "Xena wants us to lead a contingent to the east plain. She said a group of Yodoshi's archers are gathering there." She walks with purpose, hoping that Xena's plan will work as always.
Xena watches from a distance as Gabrielle walks away from her. Her face is forlorn because of the coming war.

(Beginning of Episode 134 (S6, E22) with additions)
A figure watches through a portal as Xena buries her sword and Grecian armor. He shakes his head as he reads her thoughts. She is preparing to die. He watched her do this once before, right before she met her Balance.
He continues to observe the Warrior Princess as she walks away from her life. She walks towards the army that is gathering, away from Gabrielle. She is a soldier in an army of one. The odds have never been worse for her. It is a suicide mission.
She throws her Chakrum at the enemy's wagon, releasing their bombs full of oil and lighting everything on fire. A huge explosion erupts, blasting away some of her enemies.
His heart hurts as he watches Gabrielle run, desperate to find Xena. She too has realized the warrior's true mission. To Die.
"It's not supposed to be like this." He comments, wishing he could step in. "This just isn't right."
Arrows begin to wiz passed Xena, some sticking into her shoulder and leg. He sees a warrior coming at her with a sword, preparing to behead her. With a wave of his hand, Thoth dismisses the scene before him. He cannot watch her die.
