Mai plopped herself on the couch, they're finally done in setting up the base. They are in one of the suite room in Igarashi Hotel, one of the well-known five star hotel in Sapporo, and it was owned by Akira's uncle. His secretary, Kyoya Suzuki was the one who went to their office for consultation two days ago.
"I'm here in behalf of my boss. There are strange happenings in our hotel since we extended it…" He begins, he took a deep breath "Some of our female guests were... sexually molested by an invisible being." his voice was shaking from fear.
The two female in the room gasped. Naru raised his eyebrow "How can you be sure that it was done by ghost and not by human?"
"Because some women were being attacked in the hallway, then we saw it in our security camera how their clothes being ripped by nobody." He took something from the pocket on his coat "Here's some recording from the attack." he placed a tape on the table.
Naru ordered Lin to play it. The video started with a woman in blue dress came out from her room, three steps after, she was yanked by an invisible force and pinned down on the floor, then her dress was ripped until she's half-naked. Then her legs were parted away and the assault started, minutes have passed the woman curled on the floor crying.
Akira turned away from the monitor the moment when the woman's dress ripped apart, she don't want see it. Gene hold her hands for comfort when he notice her trembling body.
Mai covered her mouth and ran in the bathroom, she can't believe what she just saw. A rapist ghost? She was throwing up her lunch when a hand softly rubbing her back she know who it was even if she's facing back at the person. Naru.
"Sorry about that..." Suzuki-san apologized when Mai and Naru went back to the common room.
Mai smile at him "It's fine"
"Was the attack always happen on the hallway?" Naru turned back to his business mode
"No, sometimes in the victim's room, in the pool, in the hot spring, or even in the sauna. There's no specific place."
"Were the victims alone when they were attacked?"
Suzuki-san shook his head "One of victims was in the hot spring with her friends when she was attacked."
"But only her got molested?" Naru surprisingly asked. This is unusual, what's their common denominator aside from being a woman?
"Yes. Her other friends were terrified, she was attacked when she's the water. Please help us, Shibuya-san." He bowed his head as he begged.
Naru thought for moment and he worriedly look at Mai, she's a woman, she's in danger. He wanted to decline the case for her sake, he don't want anything to harm her, but a soft hand slightly squeeze his tense shoulder.
"I don't want you reject a case because me, Naru"
"But Mai –" her friend protested.
She motioned her to stop, and look at her boss "You're a pro, right?" Naru stared at her serious face "I want you to help them, many women will be molested if you won't stop this as soon as possible."
Akira worriedly look at her, and she give her an assuring smile.
Naru gave in, he sighed in defeat "Expect us two days from now, Suzuki-san. Give the address to my assistant."
His eyes glint with hope "Thank you so much, Shibuya-san. If you want an extra camera in any types, just inform me so we can prepare it"
"No need."
"You will need an extra cameras, Naru" Akira interjected "The hotel have fifty-five floors, three pools, three hot springs, and three sauna baths, with four restaurants." All of them stare at her with awe, except for client and the two stoic men.
"That big?!" Gene and Mai both exclaimed. Suzuki-san nodded.
Naru sighed and close his death note, err... black binder notebook. He handed Suzuki-san a piece of paper where he wrote what kind of camera he will be needing.
"I will prepare all of these before your arrival, Shibuya-san"
"Mai, tea" Naru ordered when he entered the base, followed by the others.
She, Gene, and (to Gene's displeasure) Akira were the one who set up the base. Akira went along, she don't want to leave Mai in such dangerous place, her friend didn't know it but her brother asked, or rather, ordered her to look out for her on his behalf.
Their base was one of the suite rooms in the hotel. The queen-size bed was removed, and replaced by five twin-sized sofa bed to have more space. As Naru's orders, they will be sleeping by pair in one room.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever narcissist" she mumbled as she went to the makeshift kitchen. Everything you needed is in the room, from kitchen to the bathroom.
"Gene, Hara-san, do you feel anything?" Naru questioned the two mediums.
"I feel two angry spirits" She informed with her usual gesture while talking.
Gene nodded in agreement "They are both male, in their early thirties"
"Where are they now?"
"They are both roaming around, one in the hallway, the other went to the hot spring" Gene answered
"What? They are roaming around like they are looking for a victim?" Ayako asked while preparing the charms.
"Yes, I think so... What I don't I understand is, why they didn't attack the other women? What made those victims special?" Gene wondered. Akira and Mai joined them bringing them their tea.
They all went silent for a moment when a soft knock disrupt the tense atmosphere. Kyoya Suzuki opened the door as the man with the same age as him entered.
"Takafumi Igarashi-sama is here" Suzuki-san announced and stood behind him.
Akira slightly widened her eyes, she stand and gave the man a reverent bow.
"Uncle Takafumi-sama" she greeted with profound respect. The others stand and greeted the man when they saw how Akira acted towards him – he's a respectable person.
"Akira, why are you here?" he asked in serious and strict voice with no hint of humor. Akira slightly flinch.
"I'm here to aid this group of professionals in getting rid of the problem in the hotel"
Her uncle scans everyone in the room and raised his eyebrow, he look at his assistant "I didn't know that you hired a group of kids"
"They are the most reliable team that I found, even the former Prime Minister recommended them" Suzuki-san politely answered.
"Who's the director?" he asked the people in the room who seems holding their breaths.
"That would be me" Naru step-in with his cocky and intimidating aura, he opened his mouth to introduce his self by his alias but Akira shot him a look that says 'use your real name', "I'm Oliver Davis"
"Davis? How are you related to Martin Davis from BSPR?"
"He's our father, Igarashi-sama" Naru politely answered.
He nodded, he seems satisfied that the group was led by a famous researcher. Naru open his notebook, and start the interview.
"The strange happenings started when we decided to extend the north part of the hotel. At first, the workers were pushed and the equipment were broken. And then weeks later, some of the female guests were attacked like what my secretary told you when he came in your office." He explained.
"We wanted to interview the victims, can you give us their contact information?"
"Of course, Dr. Davis"
He give him a court nod "Thank you, Igarashi-sama, we will contact you if we need anything"
Igarashi-sama and give him a firm handshake. Before he left, he face his niece "Akira, I want you to get involve in your family companies, not in this kind of farce"
"I'm still helping my father Uncle Takafumi-sama, besides he knows that I am here."
He raised his eyebrow "And he's okay with it?"
"Yes."
He narrowed his eyes "I see. I think I should have a good talk on your parents about this" then he left.
When he left the room, everybody let out a breath that they've holding.
"He's scary. I was holding my breath the entire time." Bou-san commented, rubbing his arms.
Ayako nodded, she face Akira who's sitting on the love seat with Gene holding her "Your uncle is so strict."
"Yeah, that's the way he is. He's my mother's older brother." stated as she lean on her boyfriend's shoulder.
"Mai, Gene, you don't have any dreams about this case?" Naru asked the two. The two aforementioned psychics look at each other, then both shook their heads.
Then the room temperature begin to drop rapidly, everybody become attentive. Then, they heard a maniacal laugh.
"Lucky, there's two of them..." they heard a man's voice said.
"We can have one each, brother" the other man's voice stated.
"They're here" Masako whispered behind her kimono sleeve.
Mai and Akira was thrown on the wall, they were both pinned on the wall. The other ghost, bring Mai to the floor. The others widened their eyes, Gene and the others went to help them but they were stop by an invisible wall.
"Dammit! A barrier!" He furiously said as he bang the invisible wall "Akira!" he become worried when he notice that her top started to rip apart.
Lin called his shikis but only to be repelled by the barrier.
"Mai!" Naru went to his brother's side, watching the two being attacked. He and Gene use their PK to destroy the barrier, but it will take them a while in gathering their energies.
"No!" Akira screamed, when she felt cold hands slowly ripping her clothes showing her brassiere, she was still pinned on the wall.
Mai was thrashing on the floor, her hands were pinned on both sides, and like her friend, the ghost ripped her shirt showing her black lace brassiere. She can hear everyone calling for them. She can hear Akira's scream.
"Stop!" Mai yelled when she felt the ghost's hands on her thighs "I said STOP!" she screamed at the top of her lungs. The room shook, some of the monitors exploded, the windows in the room shattered. Yes, she's poltergeist-ing.
The twins felt the barrier vanished, Bou-san and John immediately do an exorcism but before they can exorcise them completely, they disappeared.
Naru helped Mai to get up and cover her with his coat, Gene did the same to Akira, and lead her to the couch. Mai cried on Naru's shoulder, she don't want to be seen as weak but it scared her.
"They're gone now, Mai." Naru whispered as she soothed her.
"I was scared..." He hug her tightly, saying that he won't let it happen again.
"Why they only attack Mai-san and Akira-san?" John asked no one particularly.
Bou-san nodded "That's right. Ayako and Masako are also here."
The two ladies huffed when Naru ordered them to clean the glass shards.
"Same with the other victims, some were attacked even if they were with their other female friends" Gene stated pulling Akira closer to him. He won't let it happen again.
"Maybe because they are both pure and innocent maidens." Yasuhara's voice came from the doorway, the bespectacled lad greeted them and frown when he saw the damaged in the room.
