Next chapter is up, sorry if it's a little short but be a little patient. I wanted to give you something since I haven't updated in a few days. Hope you all enjoy and please tell me what you think. I can't wait to write what's coming in the following chapters.
Sorry for the mistakes, they are all me.
It was finished. She was finished. The curse had finally been broken by true loves kiss out of all things, how ironic. Emma Swan was indeed the savior and fulfilling her role by kissing her son awake. Regina couldn't believe it.
But then the look in Henry's eyes as she went over to his hospital bed said it all. He hated her, he didn't love her, and he knew everything about her past life. He would never look at her the same again. In his eyes she was the Evil Queen, the villain, the destroyer of his real family's happiness. In that one instant she had lost him, the little boy she loved from the minute he was placed in her arms.
Closing and locking the door if her lavish mansion, Regina almost fell from the crippling weight around her. The only thing she had left was Daniel, if she indeed broke his curse and she didn't imagine the whole thing. Everything was crumbling around her so she actually allowed herself to believe that when she walked into her room he would not be there. Why would he, every one leaves her in the end anyway. She could never get her happy ending because as Henry so eloquently stated she was a villain, the Evil Queen.
She took a deep breath before she opened her bedroom door. Her eyes were already filled with tears and what she saw made them flood down her face. He was sitting there on her bed, turned slightly so his eyes were staring right into hers. What he saw put a knife in his chest. He had seen her upset before, countless times at her mother's own hand but not like this. She looked completely broken. His body went into autopilot at that point. Lifting himself off her bed and all but ran to her bringing her into his strong chest.
Once she felt his arms around her small frame, her body began to shake. She didn't even remember him carrying her to her bed and laying them both down atop of her silk sheets. His arms never left her as she continued to cry now into chest. She looked so small like this. Clinging to his body like a lifeline, the only one she had left.
He continued to whisper in her ear while stroking her hair with one hand and her back with the other. He really didn't know why she was like this but he was going to be there for her through it all.
"Shhh Regina. Everything is going to be okay." He tried again. It only made her grasp on his shirt tighten. She was still having a hard time believing he was still there with her.
"I'm here my love. I'm never going to leave you." He repeated over and over again. He knew not to press words at that moment and she was grateful. Sometimes not asking was exactly what was needed. He just continued to whisper sweet nothings into her ear and just as an extra reassurance he began to rock her in his arms and placed light kisses in her hair. It used to work in their old land so he tried it out.
After about 20 minutes, which felt like twenty years for Daniel she began to calm down. She was still slightly crying but she stopped shaking and the grip on his shit was not as tight anymore. He stopped rocking her but continued to rum her back and kisses her hair, still trying to coax her out of her state of grief enough to at least begin to talk to him about it. He was a fool to think that that rush of magic he felt a few minutes before she returned home was just a coincidence. He had seen the effects of magic may times, mostly on Regina from Cora's hand but this reaction coming from her told him that magic had to be involved. It was the only explanation he could think of.
He didn't want to ask. He knew whatever she was struggling which concerned him as well so he stayed quiet and waited for her to be ready.
Regina knew the time had come. She knew in her heart that this moment was coming. That's why she hung on to him so tight. For she knew that he would not love her once he knew of the monster she had become. But she had to tell him, she loved him too much to lie, and he was going to find out sooner or later anyway since half the town will be at her doorstep by morning wanting blood.
She took a very deep breath in and forced herself to react herself from his loving arms so she could sit on the bed. She still needed some connection to him so she took both his hands and willed him to sit up with her. He did what she silently asked for and once he was face to face with her she looked into those eyes she could get lost in forever and almost forgot was she was about to say.
"Regina." Was all he said. It was so small and filled with concern.
"Daniel I have to tell you something, something that once you hear you might walk out that door and never return." She informed him with a frown. He face fell for just a moment before she brought it back up. She saw a slight confused look on his face but he did not ask any questions. He knew she needed to control the pace of the conversation of she might close herself off again.
" Daniel I… after your death, after my mother killed you I couldn't handle it. I was forced to marry the king. I was trapped, spiraling into darkness that no one would lend a hand in keeping me from. I had no control over my own life until it was too late. My mother, the king, and Rumplestiltskin took advantage of my grief and unhappiness and molded me into the one person I always feared in becoming, my mother. In some ways I am even worse than her. All the evil I've done when you were gone, all the despair and death I bought to my people, they called me the Evil Queen, and for good reason." She took a breath. She averted his eyes not knowing what may lay within them. She felt her face being lifted but she could not open her eyes.
"Look at me." He said quietly but forcefully. She did what she saw told with little reluctance. She stared into his blue eyes and saw that nothing had changed in them. They still had all the love and care for her that she remembered. Although she only scratched the surface of her past. She had to let it all out in the open so they could even have a shot at being together.
It was then that his eyes changed, which was odd because it seemed that he was not even looking at her rather past her and out the window. Regina gave him a quizzing glare before she allowed herself to look behind her. A whirlwind of purple smoke began to fill the streets of Storybrooke and engulfed everything that came within its path. Regina knew alto well what it was and just stared out the window mesmerized until she felt hands running around her stomach from behind and a strong chest press against her back.
"What is that?" Daniel asked holding her tight. He was scared she could tell, and to be honest so was she. She answered in a quick and quiet tone which he almost didn't hear.
"Magic." She said before the house was taken over and their body's engulfed in the purple mist.
Sorry kind of a cliff hanger I know sorry…
