Halley Wolowitz's POV
I was in my parents bedroom with my mother. We were looking at old baby clothes that she was going to give me. Neil helped us to get the boxes from the attic. He didn't want to be with us to experience the nostalgia because it will get too 'girly' and 'motherly' for him. He and Dad both backed out and it was just the two of us.
Mom lend me Neil and mine old baby clothing. I do not know what the baby's gender is so I should keep these just in case if I do have a girl or a boy. I hope it's only one baby and not twins.
I would really hate it if I have twins.
Of course, I would love them, but I would hate it.
"Aw, I loved when you in this." Mom gushed as she held up an outfit to show me.
It was a cute and girly outfit with a shirt and a skirt to match.
"It's cute," I agreed.
The both of us were sitting on the bed with the boxes on it, too. We take clothing out and look at it.
"When your father and I was expecting you, we decide to keep it a surprise." Mom told me.
"Really?" I was surprised and interested.
"Yeah. It eventually got hard because we both wanted to know. It wasn't until later that we found out that our friend, Raj, knew that you were a girl."
"Seriously?" I snorted. "How did he know?"
"He looked into the folder. We didn't want him to tell us, but he did later on."
"So much for keeping it a secret."
"Yeah, ain't that the truth..." She shook her head, rolling her eyes.
"I don't think I want to have my baby's gender be a surprise. I just want to know right away. To be prepared." I said.
"That's smart. It just fun and exciting for your father and I to keep it a surprise with you being our first child."
"Did you do the same for Neil?"
"No. It's our second baby so you'd think we know what to do back then. Already having two babies under our belts. But truthfully, we didn't. We just had to learn together. And on top of that, we still go to work. Although, I wanted to work more than being a stay at home Mom."
"I get that," I understood, knowing how we both are. We're both competitive and hard working women. "I would rather work than be a Mom. I still love my baby and everything, but..."
"I understand." She sympathized holding my hand.
The next day was a Monday, so that meant my parents were at work. Except for me. I need to find a job to support myself and the baby.
As I was job hunting on my laptop in the living room, I was munching on potato chips. Hey, I needed something salty and crunchy. My favorite TV Show was on so I was watching that, too. I was dressed in too comfortable clothing that I look like a pathetic slob. But I don't care. As long as I'm comfy, I'm good.
As time passed, I got bored and distracted. So, I was sidetracked from what I was originally doing. I was listening to music, watching YouTube videos, and playing online computer games. Anything.
The doorbell rang and I wondered who could it be. I didn't feel like fixing myself up so I hope it wasn't someone important. I opened the door and the person had more than shocked me. My eyes widen and my mouth was open.
"Hey, Halley. I heard that you left and I thought to drop by. I knew you would need help with...this. I can't let you do this alone."
It was my best friend, Cecil Evans. Some of my friends have been in this house before. He still remembers where I used to live.
Too speechless and touched to say anything, I hugged him fiercely.
"Thank you." I said to him as his arms wrapped around me.
I heard him say lovingly. "Anything for you, Halles."
