Moe: Its been 4 years since I started this story. I just completely reread it and decided I did not at all like the last chapter. So I deleted it and will be replacing it with this one. This will be the final chapter. I will tie up all lose ends and finally give this story an ending.
(I do not own the inuyasha characters)

I sat across for Nuraku at the table, thinking long and hard about everything I've been told and heard.
"I'm eating a purple chicken toe." I stated.
He looked up at me confused. "what?"
"Didn't you say mates couldn't lie to each other?" I glared, setting my silverware down.
"Ah." He said, laughing. "That was clearly a lie, wasn't it?"
He just shrugged and continued to eat.
"So we aren't mates!" I growled, but a sickening feeling hit my stomach.
"We are." He answered nonchalantly. "I figured telling you that would deter you from lying to me. You really are a terrible demon."
I sat back, crossing my arms over my chest.
"Did you lie about being able to hurt each other?" I pushed, not sure why since I knew he couldn't be trusted.
"Once we mate, you will find out that was a lie as well." He looked up amused. "You will find me to be not such a gentle lover."
Just then, we heard Kagura's scream from outside.
"Stay!" Naraku demanded before running off, but I stubbornly followed anyways.
When I caught up to the scene outside, I was frozen in shock. The wind demon laid life-less in a pool of blood at the feet of the Demon Lord of the West.
"Sesshomaru." I breathed, my heart aching to go to him, but something held me in my place.
"Mate." He growled, the red starting to leave his eyes.
"Still with this charade I see." Naraku's voice called out from next to me. I hadn't even seen him approach.
"Give back what is mine and you will die quickly."Sesshomaru threatened coldly. Bani, Rin and Jaken stood some distance behind him.
"I have nothing of yours." Naraku smirked.
I stood quickly, feeling overly confused. My heart begged me to run to the dog demon, but instinct told me to stay here. I didn't get much of a chance to decide before both demons came racing towards each other. The hate in the atmosphere was palpable.
The horrible sounds of their weapons and claws striking together made my inside churn. I could not even bring myself to attempt to break up the fight due to the raging war going on inside my own body. It was so confusing and painful, I could almost faint. But just as Naraku landed a blow to Sesshomaru's arm, I was able to push all those emotions down and regain some control.
"It's time for some honesty, don't you think?" Naraku mused, stalking around the injured demon.
Sesshomaru blocked the next few hits, but failed to deflect another blow to the same arm.
"Tell her. Or I will." Naraku's venomous voice threatened. When there was no answer, he simply shrugged and kicked off the ground, landing next to me. "My Suri. Poor, terrible demon, Suri."
His hand brushed my hair back and he kissed my neck softly. Sesshomaru growled loudly but made no move towards us. The half demon moved to stand behind me, placing a hand on each of my shoulders, my eyes never left Sesshomaru's.
"You were so easily tricked by this sad, puppy demon." He clicked his tongue. "You know, you look just like her. His actual mate. But of course she was a dog demon, not a fox." My brows furrowed in confusion. "She was also a half demon. No wonder she didn't make it through the mating."
"You bastard." Sesshomaru growled, taking a step towards us, but Naraku held me tighter to his chest as if I were a hostage.
"Poor little puppy was so upset. Devasted for such a long time. And then a chance meeting of you, Suri." His cheek rubbed against my hair. "Oh you looked so much like her, he couldn't help himself. Could you, My Lord?"
"Shut up!" The large dog demon looked as if he was losing control of his inner demon.
"Aye. But you were nothing like her… So stubborn." Naraku continued. "That's why he let you escape the first time."
"It was so easy..." I muttered.
"Well you just weren't worth the trouble." Naraku laughed, stepping out from behind me.
Sesshomaru took his chance to attack, but Naraku easily jumped across the field avoiding it.
"But then…. Should I tell her?" Naraku taunted Sesshomaru.
His response was to try to attack him again. And their weapons met several times before they both jumped back.
"Then you became Lady of the North. And he just couldn't pass up the opportunity to claim that land." Naraku barely escaped a blow from the dog demon. "So he took you again. But wait!" Naraku's eyes narrowed and he smirked in amusement. "This time was different, wasn't it? This time he actually caught feelings for you!" Naraku laughed and my heart clenched up.
"But Bani…" I looked over at my bunny demon. She confirmed his words by looking to the Lord. "But why?"
I could see the tears welling up in the little demon's eyes.
"I was the only one besides the Lord who knew. I couldn't let anyone else know." She looked down in guilt. "I knew he loved you and that he would be a better and safer match then Naraku. He would never hurt you and would always be there to protect us. I had to lie, Lady Suri…. I had to.."
Sesshomaru sent a sorrowful apologetic glance my way and I knew all of what the half demon and bunny had said had been true.
"Sesshomaru." I whispered with hurt in my voice.
'He lied to me this entire time….. but my feelings.. those were real..'
"Well, Mate?" Naraku sneared.
"I….I…" I closed my eyes and suddenly felt an overwhelming power in me. "I don't care!"
Suddenly it felt like a bubble had pop and my body trembled. This was it…. My true form coming out. Another lie Naraku had told me. As I grew, the I could feel my power growing as well.
"Suri…" Naraku warned.
"Suri.." Sesshomaru called worried.
"You're both liars!" I roared, I could tell my voice had deepened with the transformation. "But I love Sesshomaru! And if there is one mistake you made, Naraku. It was telling me we could hurt each other."
And with that, I quickly jutted out my muzzle and picked up the half demon in my mouth, biting down with all the force I could muster. What I did not expect was 100s upon 100s of demons to shoot out, trying to escape. But Sesshomaru drew out his sword and easily destroyed any who tried to escape. I swallowed what was left and howled in pain to the sky. It felt as though a primal part of me had broken, but suddenly any urges I had dissolved, and I finally felt at peace.
Suddenly pure exhausted washed over me and as I felt myself shrinking, I passed out into darkness.
(THE NEXT DAY)
I woke up to find myself surrounded by familiar sheets. I stretched before sitting up and catching site of a tiny blonde bunny demon on the foot of my bed. She hung her head, looking very sad.
"Bani?" I called curiously.
She peeked her head up and looked at me with her tear soaked eyes. I opened my arms and before I could say anything, she rushed into them, new tears streaming down her face.
"I am so so so sorry, Lady Suri!" She cried. "I just wanted what was best!"
"I know." I cooed, soothingly rocking side to side and patting her head.
"You have every right to rid yourself of me." She continued.
"No. No" I said softly. "I don't blame you, Bani. I understand why you did it. You did a very good job."
Her ears perked up at that and she sat back looking up to me.
"You are the sweetest, kindest Lady in any land and I am so pleased to serve you. I just wanted to protect you as you have done for me so many times."
"I know." I smiled, patting her head again.
Suddenly, Bani's ears straightened out.
"He's coming." She muttered.
"Who?" I looked towards the door and sniffed the air.
Bani hopped and went to the door, before leaving she turned to me and said: "You really are a terrible demon."
I laughed as she hopped away, knowing she was right. Even after those two years of training myself to be better, I still had bad moments. My laughing stopped when Sesshomaru entered the room. His face was completely emotionless like normal.
"Suri." He acknowledged me, taking a seat at the foot of the bed where Bani had been when I woke up.
"My Lord.." I acknowledged back.
"You killed your mate." He stated.
"So did you." I knew it was a terrible low blow, but I was righteously quite mad at him.
He signed, which was out of character for him.
"I'm sorry." I signed too.
"As am I." His eyes met mine and I could see a burning desire in them.
"I love you." I smiled softly.
"As do I, Suri." He moved towards me.
"Don't get me wrong, My Lord." I crossed my arms over my chest and he stopped. "You are still being punished! NO sex for a week!... After this." And I jumped into his arms and kissed him passionately.
