Chapter 21
Maya and Grimmjow both arrived at the party. Both of them rushing inside from the cold, not before Grimmjow gave his keys to the valet driver and heading into the lobby. Maya gasped in shock at how beautiful the place was. She looked around from the ceiling to the stairway all the way down to where she and Grimmjow were. Everyone was walking around chatting her and there with some laughter too. she looked back up at the ceiling noticing the chandelier. It was like a giant star falling from the sky with billion other stars falling with it. Grimmjow walked up beside Maya, placing his hand on her back.
"It's beautiful... Isn't it?"
"You have to clue..." She said back. Grimmjow smile while he took their jackets. Giving to the person who was in charge of all the guest coats. "Where are we going?" She asked.
"follow me and you'll see," Grimmjow said leading them away. As they were walking whispers were flying by all the same question like 'who is that young lady?', or 'there goes another girls' poor heart soon to be broken.' Maya did her best to not listen to the gossip flying about. She tightens her grip on Grimmjow's arm.
They enter into a giant ballroom full of guest, wearing flash clothes, chatting about their lives, with champagne in their hands. Maya notice tables were around so the guest could sit down and enjoy themselves. "Didn't you say that they're serving dinner here?" She asked.
"Hungry already?"
"No, just asking," she asked as they made their way to a certain table. That was set with all kind of dishware, fancy champagne glasses filled with silk napkins inside.
Grimmjow pulls out a chair next to her, as Maya takes her place in the chair pushing her slowly back inside the table. Afterward, Grimmjow takes his seat next to her.
"So many people here?" Maya mentioned. She was feeling a little overwhelmed, with everyone looking all fancy, rich, and with reputation. She, on the other hand, was feeling more like a nobody, reminiscing back to when they enter into the room.
"Babe. You ok?" Grimmjow asked, seeing Maya look around feeling uneasy. At first, Grimmjow was worried for her and himself. Knowing that he had a rep for sleeping with women from left to right. Even bringing them to an event like this one. Every so often he would have a new chick on his arms. But for Maya, she was different and Grimmjow. He was going to show everyone in this event even his father that Maya wasn't another fling. Grimmjow gentle grabbed Maya's chin pulled her attention to him. Maya's ocean eyes looking through his. "If you're feeling uncomfortable, we could leave," He told her
Maya colored lips turning upward. She took his hand not letting go. "Thank you, but I'll be fine." She leaned in giving Grimmjow a small peck on the lips. Grimmjow returning the favor. "Good, cause want to show my father and everyone here that you're not a fling." He said
Maya eyes slightly grew big. "Your father is going to be here? And what do you mean not another fling?" Maya had a lot...a lot of questions running through her mind. But she only let those two questions slip out her mouth.
"Babe, you should've known by now before we became official. I've slept with a lot of women." He told her.
Maya made a face. "please don't remind me." She looked away remembering the chick she fought with at the nightclub. Maya would always put the manwhore Grimmjow in the past and see him as the 'New Grimmjow'. Grimmjow chuckled seeing his girlfriends expression.
"I know you're still getting my trust back. After that fight with-"
"Don't. Say. Her. Name?" Maya warned feeling slightly irritated.
"ok. I won't." He confirmed.
"Good, now you said your father was going to be here?" Maya changed the subject.
"Yeah. He's hosting this party. He likes to have friends over for the New Years. You know business wise."Grimmjow informed Maya.
"Well, I don't seem him anywhere?" She searched the with her eyes, looking for a man that looks to be Grimmjow's father; However, she was getting no luck.
"he likes to keep his guest waiting." Grimmjow noticed her eyes scanning the room beyond the hundreds of guest.
"Like someone I know." Maya taunt. Grimmjow looked at her smirking only at her.
"haha, see you got jokes, Babe. Funny." Grimmjow move himself closer to Maya getting into her personal space. His arm rest on the back of her chair. Slowly going in for a sweet gentle kiss. He pulled back smiling. "You have no fucking idea what kind of impact you have on me?"
"How much?" Maya said with a hint of curiosity/challenge altogether.
"A lot... so much, I first saw you at school, I knew I must make you mine before anyone else did," Grimmjow confessed. Maya saw honesty in his eye as he spoke those words to her; leaving her breathless, her heart skipping beats. At one point Maya had to tell herself to keep breathing.
"And?..."
"And... you were so fucking hot, that I want to grab you and fuck somewhere private," He told her.
Maya's face turns red in pure shame. Remembering back to where she lost I wallet and Grimmjow showing up to scaring off two high school punks, then kissing her while doing it too. She didn't know he had those thoughts running through his mind. "Are you kidding me, Grimmjow!"
"Pfff... Hahaha..." He laughed leaning back into his chair. "I'm dead serious. You looked so cute, your glasses almost falling off when I kissed you."
"You also grabbed my ass FORCING your tongue down my mouth, Stealing my first kiss," She emphasized.
"Yeah, that part too. Man that was fucking hot." Grimmjow agreed. Causing Maya to playfully hit his arm.
"Ok, enough. Change of subject." She said, clearing her throat.
"Want me to get us something to drink?" Grimmjow offered.
"Hmm-mm." She nods her head. Her mouth feeling parched.
"Ok be right back?" Grimmjow got up leaving the table to retrieve their drinks.
Maya sat at the table by herself, looking around the room. Watching people talk, probably nothing but gossip, or business stuff. Grimmjow did tell her that this was an event for mostly business men and women. Few people walked by greeting her with a friendly smile; some didn't even notice she was there. She didn't care she mostly ignore them. Pulling her cell phone out, she started texting friends. One of them Renji. After their winter vacations, school didn't start back up until a week after 'New Years." Maya found Renji's name in the contacts, pressing the text message app. Right away she began typing out her text.
"Hey, Renji, Happy New Year's Eve. Are you and the rest of the guys going to the shrine tomorrow? If so, let me know?" Maya pressed the send button, seconds later her cell vibrated.
"Happy New Year's Eve to you too. Yeah, Me and the guys are chilling, we were just discussing going to the shrines the next morning."
Maya smiled. "Cool, let the guys know I said 'Hey'. Anyways, how was your Christmas?"
"It was good. Me and Shuuhei got so wasted with vodka and eggnog. Lol XP "
"Oh my god, you guys didn't?"
"Yep, we were so fucked up. Even worse we had work the next day... early morning too."
Maya was laughing her head off, with a huge smile. "sorry to here that. Did you get your friends anything?"
"Yeah, I even got you something too." Maya paused at the text he sent, reading a few times.
"What did you get me?"
"I can't tell you that would just ruin the surprise. ;) "
"Don't winky face me. I want to know?"
" ;) ;) ;)"
"STOP THAT! I HATE WINKY FACES... it's weird. T_T "
"OK. I'll stop. Hey, Shuuhei need me to focus back on to band stuff. Text you later."
That was the last text she got from Renji. He was so funny at times. Maya put her phone back in her purse. Right on time Grimmjow came back with two drinks in his hand. "sorry for the wait, one my way back got stop by a business client, so we chatted for a bit."
"That's ok. I've kept myself busy with my phone." She declared. She gladly took her drink from Grimmjow's hand. Before she took a sip she looked at Grimmjow making full eye contact with him.
"it sparkling grape. Not alcohol. Chill." He informed.
Believing his words she to a sip of the drinks feeling refreshed. After a few more sips she placed her drink on the table.
"Maya, Grimmjow!"
The couple looks to the direction of their name being called. Neliel and Ichigo coming towards them. Neliel walked up to Grimmjow giving him a hug; meanwhile, Ichigo did his usual wave to Maya and head nod to Grimmjow. Seeing the two men have a mutual understanding
"I didn't know you guys would be here, especially Ichigo," Maya mentioned.
"Hey, anything for Neliel. She wanted me to come so I came." Ichigo states, with a shrug of his shoulders.
"You came what about my little cousin?" Grimmjow jumped in. All three teens were confused by that statement till the girls face went red. Neliel's face was the reddest compared to Maya's; however, Ichigo was still wrapping his mind around what was said.
"What'd you mean I came and she-" Ichigo mind finally clicked, his face turning the same color as Neliel's
"What the fuck man?!" Ichigo yelled.
"Hahaha... chill, it's a joke." Grimmjow teased. His smirk never leaving his face. "just lighten up the mood here, since it's a party/event."
"But still you didn't have to tease them like that Grimmjow, or should I say Grimmy-Kun." Maya fired shots at her boyfriend. Watching his smirk disappearing from his face.
"Grimmy-kun? Huh?" This time, Ichigo was smirk and Neliel giggling.
Grimmjow turns his body to where he was facing her. "Where In the hell did you hear that name?" He asked only knowing one person to call him that to no end.
"Oh, remember that incident at the club, I overheard your ex-call you that by chance." She finished with a sweet innocent smile upon her lips.
"damn it! I told her to stop calling me that?" Grimmjow said irritated.
"why do you hate that nickname?" Maya asked out of curiosity.
"don't take it the wrong way. It's just when 'we' dated she call me that every time instead of my actual name." He mentioned, putting hand quote up when he mentioned we. Then taking both his hands covering up his face that was in shame.
"I have a feeling she said It a lot in public too if I'm correct?" Ichigo guessed.
"Fucking everywhere, at home, work, when she calls me during an important business meeting. AGGGHHHHHH!" Grimmjow wanted to scream right now just thinking about the subject they were discussing.
"I won't say that name again... promise." Maya declared. Maya didn't know that name would irritate. Usually, couples would give each other nickname, but Grimmjow was a different story. When she called him that she could almost feel him snap at her but he held it in so that he would cause a scene at this event. Knowing that his father could be somewhere in the room watching.
"I'm sorry Grimmjow." She apologized.
"you're ok, but I don't want to hear it again." He looked at her, then to Ichigo and Neliel. "that goes for you two too. I'm I clear?"
"safe with me," Ichigo said.
"sure... Neliel won't speak." Neliel said going in third person. Afterward, the subject was changed to something else. Not long someone approached Grimmjow kneeling down into his ear whispering. Grimmjow nod his head send the unknown man away.
"hey, babe I'll be back. Don't get into any trouble?" He said kissing her right cheek before leaving the table. Maya watched him leave disappearing into the crowd. She turned her attention back to Ichigo and Neliel conversation, Neliel laughing at something that Ichigo said.
"Ichigo how are you and Renji doing with the band?" She asked.
"good... but, I'm thinking about quitting the band and just let Renji be the main vocals," He informed the girls.
"why you're a great singer too," Neliel spoke. Holding onto his hand."
"yeah I know, but I want to think about my future after high school, going to the college I want, my career, that kind of stuff," He mentioned. Ichigo did have a point there. Maya wasn't going to say that they'll never make, but you do have people like Ichigo who want to do something else besides being in a band.
"Have you mention it to them yet?"
"sigh... no, not yet but soon I will," He added.
"you need to, don't let it be too late." Neliel scold
"like I don't know that already Nel." Ichigo scolds back.
Maya smile as the couple went at it, luckily Grimmjow wasn't here right now, or those two might be fighting. Maya grabbed her drink taking in small sips, looking around to room to see if Grimmjow was coming back. So far no luck all she saw was people talking, smiling, drinking wine, eating and dancing. She pulled out her phone checking the time as her cell read back to her 9:54 pm they had two hours and six minutes till the New Year's countdown. That didn't bother her much, Maya wasn't really a New Year's person. But she never likes spending it alone. She had her Aunt, Uncle, and their crazy family. However, it was never the same.
"Maya?" Turning her head to the sound of her name.
"yes?"
"Me and Ichigo are going to go dance. You'll be fine by yourself?"
"yeah, you guys go have fun. Ichigo make sure to keep your hands to yourself." Maya teased. Ichigo making a face like he would attempt such a thing. As the two left Maya sat at the table alone, going back to her cell checking for missed calls, messages. Etc.
"what a pretty lady like you sitting all by herself?" Maya turned her head meeting face to face with no other that Nnoitra with his large goofy ass grin.
"hello, Nnoitra." Maya left it at that.
"just Hello. I was hoping for some more conversation. And all I get is a hello?"
"I know. But right now I'm looking for Grimmjow, have you seen him?" She said "he said he was coming back soon but it almost been an hour."
"yeah, I've seen him but only for a second since I just got here," He told her.
"oh ok."
"you want to dance, it will kill time instead of sitting here at the table waiting for him." Nnoitra offered, his hand held out towards her. Maya sat there question herself if she should up his offer.
"that's sweet of you, but I'll wait a little longer," She told him with a smile.
"tch. Suit yourself." Nnoitra up and left finding some other women to dance.
Maya was about to pull out her phone again, till she saw blue hair moving around. She quickly got up following the direction he went. Seeing that he was chatting with a group of people; However, something was off his suit was different and his hair seem a little more darker. A darker shade of blue. Maya reached out placing her hand on his arm. "Grimmjow I was looking for you? Where'd you go?"
The man turned around looking down at Maya. What surprised her was the man was a spinning image of Grimmjow but 20 years older. And his eyes were a bright yellow/golden color. "I'm sorry I mistaking you for someone else." She apologized taking her hand off the man's arm.
"yes that's my son, are you looking for him?"
"yes. He was supposed to be back minutes ago."
"but he hasn't come back yet." The man claim to be Grimmjow's father said finishing Maya sentences. In the end, Maya nods her head looking away from his piercing yellow eyes.
"he never told me that he was bringing a date?"
"uh, well-"
"don't answer that. Come with me I'll take you to him." Grimmjow's father excuse himself from his guest leading the way to Grimmjow. Maya following him. "what is your name?"
"huh, um Satoka... Satoka Maya." She said, "and your name may I ask?"
"as your heard my last name is Jaegerjaques, but you can call me Akihiro"
"Akihiro..." Maya sound it out keeping up with him. They left the ballroom heading into a hallway. At first, Maya wasn't sure if she should trust Akihiro since he was leading them away from the party. They approached the elevator, he pressed the up button, both of them wait for a minute or so. To Maya if felt like forever, and it was the same wait too as they went up.
"Tell me more about yourself, Maya?" Akihiro asked, his back facing her.
"Well... I'm in high school... it's my last year."
"So I presume your seventeen correct?"
"Yes... if it's about our age difference-"
"No... Me and my wife were nine years apart. So it's no surprise there." He told her after cutting her off.
The conversation came to an end when the elevator stop and the door started opening. Leading inside an office. "You can take a seat anywhere if you like." He offered. Maya following it, she took her place on a nice comfy couch. " would you care for something to drink?"
"No thank you." She turns down.
"I must say you're a very polite young lady," Akihiro said pouring himself a drink.
"Umm. Thank you."
"Who raised you?" He inquired.
"My Uncle and Aunt."
"Names?"
"Urahara Yoruichi and Urahara Kisuke," She claimed.
"Hm. I'll call my son up." He informed Maya as she sat on the couch quietly. She turned around staring out the window. Seeing the city light and snow falling lightly. It was peaceful for a moment. What seems like mere seconds the door opened up revealing Grimmjow. He seem upset at first but then confused when he notice Maya sitting down. "You called old man?"
"Yes. Your girlfriend was looking for you." Akihiro told his son. "She mistook me for you."
"That's not the first. Father." Grimmjow replied back. Walking towards Maya, taking his seat next to her.
" How long were you waiting for him?" He directs his attention to Maya. Leaving her off guard.
" For about forty-five minutes or more," She said.
" Almost an hour." He addressed. Looking back at his son.
" Sorry that it almost to me an HOUR to come back. Someone wanted me to take care of something. " Grimmjow added growling at the end.
For some reason, Maya could feel conflict between the two men, no father, and son she corrected herself. Maya didn't know if she should leave or stay. Although she was close to standing up she retook her seat and staying there too. It was quiet for just a second till Akihiro broke the silence. " I would revise your attitude? I wish for this night that is going into a new year peaceful, and eventful." He told his son.
"Fine. If you don't need nothing else from us can we leave?" Grimmjow demanded. His father nodding his head shooing him away with his hand. Grimmjow got up from the couch holding his hand out to Maya. As she took his hand the two were heading for the door, not before Akihiro spoke again. "Maya I would like to meet with you again? Let's say next month?" He suggested. Maya stood there silently not knowing what to say. Until Grimmjow nudged her in her arm for her to speak. "Um..sure that's fine."
"Good, and son I want you to come as well," He Informed his son.
The two headed out the door walking down the hallway towards the elevator. "Your father is a very interesting man," Maya mentioned trying to ease him, seeing that he was tense.
"tch. You keep telling yourself that." He replied. " I can't believe you thought he was me?"
"Well, yeah, you two look so much alike. You can practical pass as twins." She told him as the waited for the elevator.
"I don't know if I should take that as a compliment or an insult?" Grimmjow noted.
Maya smiled then giggled. " You should take it as a compliment. You have your father charming looks." She told him.
"Charming looks, eh? That's good cause my charming looks got you to be my girl." He stated both of them walking into the elevator. Grimmjow pressing a button the doors soon closing.
"You don't have to remind me," She said placing her arms his shoulders. " Is your father really serious about meeting me again next month?" She asked.
"Oh yeah, he's serious this time. He's seen me with plenty of women and never asked for a second meeting. " Grimmjow informed her.
"That's a good sign... right?"
"I guess?" He guessed.
"What do you mean you guess? Grimmjow this is serious what if he doesn't like me? I could've shown a terrible example of myself in there?" Maya blurted with all sorts of questions running through her mind. It sort of scared her. Meanwhile, Grimmjow stood by seeing her panic expressions. He laughed at how cute she could be. All anxious, scared, everything to sum up what Maya was showing.
"Grimmjow this is serious like I'm talking about-" Grimmjow lean down forcing his lips upon Maya's shutting her up. Maya was startled by the kiss; However, she relaxed letting the kiss sweep her away. Forgetting that the elevator was still moving, not caring if the door open up and people see them kissing. Maya didn't care about any of that. Grimmjow pulled away first giving the two-time for air. Maya had her eyes closed then began opening them. "Did you do that on purpose so you could shut me up?" She asked adjusting her round glasses forgetting that she was still wearing them.
"You could say that... but I did it so I could taste those pink lips of yours." He admitted. Going in for another one. Maya doing the same. This time, the kiss was more...fiery yet it was passionate. Grimmjow pushing her against the elevator with their hand tangled together. Maya broke free from Grimmjow hand placing her around his shoulders once again. Grimmjow's tongue pushing pasted Maya's lips forcing its way into her mouth. Meanwhile, his hands stay put at her hips. His fingers itching to touch her bare skin. Maya pulled away breaking the heated kiss. Leaving her hands where there are. "We should stop," She suggested.
"Why? When it was getting good?" Grimmjow wondered.
"Well for one we close to the ballroom floor and second I don't what random people seeing us having a make out session," She stated.
"Shit, you're right. But can we finish this some other time?" He asked.
"What do mean some other time?" Maya questioned a little confused. "There isn't going to be another time."
"Tch... why you have to take the fun out of everything?" Grimmjow asked. The elevator doors opening. Grimmjow wipes smudge lipstick of the bottom of Maya's lip with his thump, not before giving her one last kiss. The two walked out hand in hand back to their table. Seeing that Neliel and Ichigo were there chatting.
"where did you guys go?" Ichigo asked.
"I went looking for Grimmjow. Until I met his dad." Maya informed her friend easing them of their worries.
"Grimmjow she met Uncle!?" Neliel said excitedly.
"Ugh, yeah. She mistook him as for me."
"Oh come on, you know you and Uncle could pass as twins," Nel teased him smiling.
"No when I saw him I thought Grimmjow went through a time machine. They've got the say same hair... sort of, the same grin, same almost everything." Maya said.
"You forgot the charming part and my looks?" Grimmjow jumped in.
"That part too!" Maya corrected. "but all that together he was very intimidating."
"So intimidating that he wants to meet with her again next month." Grimmjow jumped in again taking his seat pulling Maya onto his lap.
"What!?" Neliel hissed. "Uncle wants to meet with you again?"
"He wants to see both of us next month." Grimmjow corrected.
"Oh dear, this is serious. You're the first girl that actually has Uncle's approval." Neliel informed.
"See Grimmjow, I told you this was serious," Maya said. "Now I'm worried for Ichigo?"
"You don't have worry about me Maya I'll be fine," Ichigo told her.
Ya sure? Your face says that you're fucked." Grimmjow taunted.
"Fuck you, man!" Ichigo yelled.
"Alright, enough of this subject. Let's do something else?" Grimmjow said after he had his fill teasing Ichigo. Now wanting to change the subject at hand. "we have about few more hours left until the countdown. What do you want to do?"
"I was hoping for one dance with you Grimmjow?" Maya suggested. "I've waited for awhile for you to come back. Nnoitra came by and ask me to dance but I declined his offer."
"That tall sack of shit asked you to dance? Let's go?" Grimmjow said standing up, Maya along with him.
"Ok." She agreed smiling.
Ichigo and Neliel watched the two leave, heading for that dance floor that hand other couples dancing. As time went by the couples had an eventful night that finally led up to the countdown. Everyone cheered as confetti and balloons fell from the ceiling surrounding everyone. Couples kiss for the new year that was brought upon them. Grimmjow grabbed Maya by the waist hugging her basically. The kiss hard yet at the same time. Maya had her hands placed on Grimmjow's shoulders. The two enjoying the moment. Maya was the first to pull away. Opening her eyes seeing herself and Grimmjow had confetti on them. The two shared smiles and laughs. Grimmjow lean down for another kiss, with Maya doing the same. This time Maya left her mouth open for him. Therefore, Grimmjow pushed his tongue inside, his head tilt to the side. While his tongue slowly move against Maya's. The taste of Maya's sweet lips was sending shivers down his back like the biggest winter cold came and hit his back. The shivers soon turned into excitement for Grimmjow. He had to know that Maya was feeling those same feelings he was having right now. As the slow, wet, tender French kiss came to a stop. Maya and Grimmjow pulled away for air. Grimmjow took one hand placed it on Maya's face, rubbing small circles on her cheek, then moving his thumb down to her lips that are now a darker pink.
"You want to leave and head back home?" He asked. Maya bit her lip unsure about his question. She knew when they kissed that those shiver she received, making knots in her stomach, traveling down between her legs. What was this kiss leading to? It was leading up to something she wouldn't be ready for. But It was worth a try. "yeah. I'm ready." She responded.
"Ok. Go get your things. I'll wait for you by the entrance." He told her leaving. Not before giving her one last kiss. Maya watched him leave. The knots still rolling in her stomach. "Did I just agree to leave for... sex? She thought. That's when the nerves were really setting in. She slowly turned around slowly to let Ichigo and Neliel know her and Grimmjow were leaving for the night. She saw the two popping confetti noise popper at one another.
"Ichigo, Neliel?" They both turned their attention towards Maya
"Yeah?" Neliel answered first.
"Grimmjow and Me are leaving. But we'll meet up at the shrine tomorrow morning, right?" She told them.
"Yeah, of course. You have a nice night, same with Grimmjow?" Neliel said back. Maya smiled waving goodbye. She made sure she had her purse and all her belonging inside. Once she was good, she went to the entrance seeing Grimmjow with their coats. She walked up to him grabbing his arm letting him know that she was ready. During the car ride back. It was a little awkward from Maya's side. Grimmjow was holding onto her hand while driving. She wanted to says something but she didn't know how to form the words, nor a complete sentence. While Maya was thinking she didn't notice that they've made it back to the apartment. Grimmjow parked his car in the garage, then turning the car off. He got out going around to open up the door for Maya. She stepped out thanking him. He warped his arm around Maya's waist bringing her closer to him. Sort of warming her body up from the cold. As they waited for the elevator. Maya placed her head on Grimmjow's arms treating it like a pillow. Finally after ten minutes the two made it to the front door. Grimmjow opening the door was greeted by his cat Milk. Maya bend down picking him up and heading to the bedroom.
"You're not really taking him to bed with us?" Grimmjow asked sound irritated. He loves his cat but he and Maya were going to taking it all the way.
"I have no Idea what you're talking about?" She teased him petting Milk giving his gentle kiss on the top of his head.
"Don't test me, Maya?" He pleaded.
"I'm not teasing you... more like taunting?" She teased again. This time putting Milk down, watching him walk out the room. Maya went head taking off her jewelry heading into the bathroom so she could take of the makeup. Grimmjow followed her undoing his tie. He leaned against the doorframe watching Maya doing the process of removing the makeup. Her glasses laid on top of the counter. Grimmjow watching thinking to himself that Maya was beautiful, with or without make-up. She was naturally beautiful, something he hadn't had for awhile. This relationship that they were in was real and serious no fling like the others. Grimmjow told himself this every time he would look at her. Maya gave Grimmjow something to fight for... fight a guy who looks at her the wrong way. He walked up behind Maya wrapping his arms around her waist, leading down kissing her shoulders then traveling up her neck. Staying in that one spot lightly sucking on her neck.
"Grimmjow. What are you doing?" She asked. Putting the wet washrag down.
