Hey guys! I tried countless times to finish this on time but everything got in the way. I was busy doing job applications, making videos and other family stuff. I actually feel like crap today but I knew I had to get this chapter out. Hopefully the next one will be out within a few days or so. We'll see. Please enjoy this chapter! Excuse any errors I've made!

Chapter 21: Think Twice
Catherine
I took in a deep breath as my eyes fluttered open and I could feel my rested features upon my face awaken, instantly take over a slight smile. Just waking up, I felt so placid and amicable. Like a high level of peace had been renewed within me. There was a feeling of tranquility as I accepted his secure grip on my body, relaxing into his hold. The absolute best part about it was, he was the first thing I saw opening my eyes this Tuesday morning.
I could feel the brightness of the light from his side window lay on my back through the peak of the blinds. It was steadily increasing and I didn't know what time it was and honestly, I didn't care at the moment. All I desired right now was to remain in his bed, stay in his clutching arms and continue our activities from last night. Or should I say early in the morning..and just a few hours ago.
We both fell asleep last night but not even an hour later, I had to pee. Like really bad. I let the covers travel down my skin as I rose up in the bed. I smirked catching a glimpse of the bare perfection that was his body. I naturally tip-toed out of bed because I didn't want to wake him, and I didn't know if he was a light sleeper or not. I was stark naked before and I'd managed to slip on my lace underwear but I didn't see my bra anywhere. I remember it being tossed in the process last night so I let it stay wherever it was hiding and rushed to the cracked door in Vincent's room. I pushed open the door quietly, glancing back at his sleeping form a few times before going in. I assumed it was the bathroom and I was right when my hand switched the light on hidden on the darkness of the wall.
My feet tapped the cool tile as I used the bathroom. I looked around and examined the rather large room. I'm guessing it was a his and hers bathroom as I eyed the double sinks circled in granite. Further ahead was a bathtub that could fit three people in it and beside it was a see-through, encased shower. It was all really nice and I felt my cheeks redden, picturing us thrown in every section of this restroom. I finished up and eyed my twin in the reflection of the mirror as I went to wash my hands. I looked down at my palms being showered momentarily and that's when I could just feel someone else enter the space I was occupying. His hands met each other as they danced their way from my sides to the center of my frame. His arms draped around my tiny waist and I looked up instantly to greet his eyes with my own in the crowded mirror. He delivered me one of his tempting smiles before moving to place small, wet kisses on the base of my neck. I leaned my head back into his chest as his grip dropped lower and stopped at my hips. I couldn't fight biting my bottom lip as I realized he was still fully naked. In all his glory. He continued to press my body into his growing erection. And then..lets just say things happened. Oh God did they happen.
I knew my face would probably start hurting because I didn't know if I could smile any bigger, relishing in our previous love-making. My mind and body had separated a long time ago and I realized I no longer had control of my reactions when it came to him. The realness of everything was setting in for me. This was real. I could kiss him now as I please, run my fingers through his messy locks and have him all I wanted. Because we were finally together.
I knew I had to get up soon because unfortunately, I had to go to a place called work. Ugh work, why did I have to go again? It wasn't fair. Not only did I not want to leave, I was dreading the various questions I knew everyone would dish out today. Especially Heather. Mostly Heather.
Last night, after I left Evan's house, I called Tess and asked her if she could open for me in the morning. It was usually what I did but I knew I wouldn't be able to. And of course, she pushed for details. She wanted to know why I wasn't able to and I just said I was gonna be running late. I had..things to do, I guess you could say. After continuous persuading, she finally succumbed but didn't give up her digging qualities. Tess tried pressing for more info about my little getaway moment with Vincent but I fought her off and told her we'd talk about everything tomorrow. Which just happened to be today. And man did I have a lot to tell her.
Let's see...
I broke up with Evan, my boyfriend of 3 years, scratch that – make that ex-boyfriend.
I am probably homeless at the moment and I left all of my things at Evan's house. Meaning I had nothing to wear unless I went back there. Add that to the dreading list.
Oh and the best part, Evan's got a child and he's been hiding it from me for a whole year.
I can see myself explaining it now and I sounded utterly ridiculous.
"Hey Tess...Oh no, I won't be at the mansion. Yeah I kinda left Evan, for Vincent. OH! and Evan has a kid, by the way can I crash with you?"
Yeah, this was going to go smooth. Maybe I should stop and get her some doughnuts on the way there...she needed to be occupied with something. I could already see this was going to be a long day. And yes, I did run over the idea of me staying with Vincent. But I didn't know if I wanted that yet. We literally just got together and I didn't want to move fast, especially after just getting out of a long relationship. But something kept nagging at me, I just knew he was going to pitch this idea to me.
I decided to give my mind a break as I watched Vincent's sleeping form. My left hand on his rising chest moved upward and up his neck. I stopped when it reached the side of his face. He surprised me when he reacted to my touch in a tired smile. His eyes remaining closed, he managed to turn his mouth so he could kiss my wrist. I couldn't help the laugh I released and then he finally cracked open his eyes and squinted a little, adjusting to the light.
"Well good morning.." he delivered in his raspy, low voice. I'd never tire of it since the first moment I heard it. It could place a hold over anyone.
"Good morning to you.." I returned, settling into my regular voice, throwing him a smile. His eyes flickered over my face a couple times as my fingers still played with his face. I squinted my eyes at him, confused.
"What?" I asked and that made him look back to my eyes.
"Nothing you're just...really beautiful." He stated and I couldn't help but blush at his words and he smiled at my reaction. I felt my body itching to be closer to him as his right palm caressed my leg that was draped over his waist.
"You're just saying that, I know how I look in the morning's." I shot back at him and he tilted his head in a cute way as if to imply that I was crazy for even thinking that. But I knew. Whatever make-up I had applied was most likely faded and gone. My hair was sprawled in every which was. I probably looked old and tired.
I yelped when he grabbed my thigh and flipped us over, resulting in him on top of me. I giggled as he smiled down at me leaning down. He applied pressure to my mouth with his and I rested my hand upon his face kissing him back. I sighed into him, just getting used to his taste as he slowly pulled away from my lips.
"You look beautiful like I said," He counterclaimed before giving me another small kiss, settling between my legs., "And extremely sexy." He also delivered as I felt his smirk turn up.
I just shook my head smiling, deciding not to push any further on that because I knew I would lose this battle. I took in a deep breath when he started kissing my neck and down to my chest, I was already getting heated and he had barely even begun.
I cursed on accident when I caught a glimpse of the clock on his bed side dresser. It was going on seven-thirty.
"Shit!" I blurted out and Vincent leaned up abruptly, looking at me frantic and befuddled. Mostly he was confused to what he had did to receive that.
I shook my head running my fingers through my hair. "As much as I don't want to, I have to get up and get ready. I'm late for work." I stressed, reminding him and emanating a pout as well.
"You don't have to go yet." He simply said placing another kiss at the center of my chest and I accidentally squeezed him between my legs. He flashed me an enticing look as a result and I tried my best to stay focus. I had to go to work. Right.
"I w-wish I didn't...but I have to go in. It is MY business." I tried to argue, managing as best as I could but there wasn't any determination in my voice.. I gulped as his fingertips trickled over my lower abdomen.
"I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you were an extra ten minutes late." He persuaded, giving me his most seductive smile.
I tried my best to pay him no mind but it certainly wasn't a piece of cake. "Vincent.." I almost pleaded, he knew what he was doing. I was almost powerless.
"Catherine.." He replied in the same tone I gave, singing it from his mouth and some of his pulled locks dropped in his face.
I gathered the strength to sit up against the headboard but I'm assuming my position wasn't as close as he needed me because he brought me in his lap, tangling my legs further around him. My body was connected to him and I could feel the heat pool within me. I had to steady myself, I couldn't give in. I forgot what I was thinking for a couple seconds when he kissed me, slipping his tongue in my mouth and I instantly pressed mines against his. This is what true addiction was. Ugh Catherine, you are weak.
I counseled myself to pull away from him, placing both of my hands on his face. I watched him furrow his eyebrows as he wet his bottom lip, briefly revealing his heavenly dimple. I failed at maintaining my serious look while he was making that cute face.
"I'm sorry..I promised Tess I wouldn't be that late and now I am and she's probably called me like ten times knowing her! I know I left my phone in the car and I still don't have anything to wear to work." I stated, still pressed against his hold and he gave me a puzzled look so I talked more to explain.
"Well I have nothing professional to wear and you ripped my jean shorts anyway. I liked those shorts." I declared and he edged out a slight chuckle.
"Wait so what exactly happened last night? You didn't bring anything from Evan's?" He asked with a hint of curious.
"Unfortunately..no. I just wanted to get out of there. It was all..insane, I'll tell you about it later but I seriously have to get up." I clued in as he was still gripping me like a vice.
"Okay, new plan. Instead of rushing and freaking out, I'll give you an old shirt of mines and some sweatpants to wear until you get your clothes. And as for us.." He started, giving me a soft kiss on the shoulder, "We are gonna take a shower. Saving time and water. I can help you get ready quicker." He said with a grin.
I laughed a little, "Yeah because helping is what you'll be doing." I joked, rolling my eyes because I knew of his true intentions.
"I'm at your service." He half kidded before lifting us out of the bed, "Now come on before I don't let you leave at all." He spoke, placing my feet on the ground and I glanced up at him.
"You'd really skip work two days in a row?" I said a little surprised.
"When it comes to you, any day." He almost whispered, taking over a deliberate look as his flecks met mines.
I felt the ends of my mouth slowly pull upward and I looked away from him, still getting used to his charming tactics. "Come on." I said, pulling him along with my fingers in the waistband of his bottoms.
I shook my hair a little over my shoulder as I reached behind my back to unclasp my bra. I eyed Vincent's actions after he cut the shower on when he slightly bent over to step out of his boxers. It was like watching this summer's number one movie. His body was sublime and certainly a creation from above.
I minimized my staring when he turned to me as I finally dropped my bra. He continued to stare at me as if he'd found something remarkable and I just realized I never took off my clothes so much in one day. I watched him as he proceeded closer my way and his fingers picked at the tops of my panties. He rolled them down and over my hips slowly and he even dared to look me in the eyes as he did. I saw his eyes become two shades darker and I knew this wasn't just gonna be him giving a "helping hand" in the shower. I stepped out of my black underwear and kicked them where my bra was. He picked me up as if it were routine and introduced us to the heated water. I managed to shut the door behind us before he backed me up into the glass corner. I arched into him as he begun kissing me as the wall was still cold. I deepened the kiss, gripping his right shoulder as my older hand played in his dark hair.
I moaned slightly in his mouth when his palm reached down to squeeze my ass. I pulled away from his mouth when breathing became necessary and he went on to my neck as his hand began to fondle my breast. I responded by rubbing against his manhood that was pressed against my lower stomach. It was divine torture and I knew I needed him soon. I heard him groan in my ear at my actions and it couldn't have sounded more pleasant. I'd do anything to ear it again. So I moved faster against him and he almost snapped as his knees buckled. He grunted as he put a stop to my teasing.
He revealed his face to me again and our lips soon reconnected out of need. I felt the pressure of the water hit me as well as I pulled at his back. He lifted me higher in his arms and I felt him rub himself against my entrance and I pulled away from him, biting my lip. I gripped his shoulders tightly as I slowly lowered myself onto him. My eyes closed as I felt him reach new lengths. The feeling of him was almost too much as I became vocal, breathing out his name. Our lower bodies rocked together and his hand tangled in my wet hair. His other hand gripped my hip, helping me move along him. He kissed me again briefly, muffling my cries and I felt my body vibrate in pleasure. I whimpered as he picked up the pace and I could feel myself tighten around him, I was close. Very close. His hand searched and linked with mines as he pressed the back of my hand to the glass. His face hid in the crook of my neck again as my breathing increased even more and I could feel his was unhinged as well. My free hand clung to the back of his neck as I rolled my hips against his and he swore out my name in my ear and that sent me over into oblivion. He held me tighter as my body shook as I welcomed my release. I almost went limp and became a puddle in his arms. He continued to move within me, prolonging my moment of euphoria.
"Catherine.." He whispered in his struggling voice and I barely managed to open my eyes as they hung low, "Look at me" he said low. When I finally did, I could feel my body about to explode again. With our eyes locked it was too much. We both moved in sync and I felt my second orgasm hit me like a train and he slowed down, reaching his peak as well. Our bodies were still tangled, resting against the glass as our breaths mingled. I brought his lips to mine again for a moment and then pulled away and to try to speak.
"I can't feel my legs." Was the first thing I could muster up and he let out a slight chuckle.
~~~Moments Later~~~
I turned to my left and right as I eyed my appearance in Vincent's tall mirror. After our shower, he went digging through some of his casual clothing to find me something somewhat fitting. None of his clothes really fit but anything was better than nothing. He punished himself for not waking up earlier so he could at least fix me breakfast, but I told him it was okay. I could find a granola bar or something in my purse and I usually didn't have time to eat breakfast anyway. He still promised he would next time and I smiled knowing there would be a next time.
I pulled the black, long sweatpants over my legs and up to my waist and then Vincent entered the room again. He had on a light gray t-shirt and some dark jeans to accompany it until he went into work around 11. He had two shirts in hand as he walked towards me. He offered to me and my eyes perked when I saw one of them.
"Here, I have these too. They're big but a little smaller than my others. I wore these in college." He made known, taking a sit on the bed behind me. I smiled taking one of the shirts. It reminded me of the one he gave me the first night he brought me to his place. It was a light gray and the font was filled with purple. I held it against my body and looked in the mirror once again.
"I'll wear this one." I said looking back at him and then back into the mirror. He smiled and gave me a simple okay. I slipped my head through the hole and let the shirt fall down my curves. I tied the back of the shirt so it'd fit me more and gave my reflection one more glance. My hair was tied back into a messy bun since I didn't have time to style it the way I wanted. All I needed was a backpack and some thick books. I looked like a school girl going to the library or something. I looked to Vincent as he stood up and he followed me as I made my way downstairs. I laughed to myself when he grabbed his iPhone off the ground. I remember I was the one who put it there. We made it to the front door and he wrapped his arms around me and I Iooked up at him anticipating his words.
"What time do you get off?" He asked, peering down at me.
"Probably around seven maybe seven-thirty, why?" I questioned, very curious. He nodded his head and thought for a moment.
"Okay, I'll pick you up around 8:30, I wanna take you out." He informed and I tilted my head forming a smile.
"You know you don't have to.." I started but of course he discontinued my sentence.
"But I'm going to." He said creating his own grin.
"Okay then..what should I wear for this date?" I couldn't lie, I was getting excited already. This was gonna be officially our first date.
"Well you don't have to wear anything if you don't want to." He impudent. I hit his arm, demanding him to be serious. He chuckled before revoking his last response.
"Wear something nice, if you're able to." He reminded me I still didn't have any of my stuff. I'd have to borrow something from Heather or beg Tess to retrieve my things from Evan's.
I nodded my head, "I will. You can pick me up from Tess' apartment. I'll send you the address." I spoke.
"Okay, I'll see you then." He said softly before leaning down to give me a sweet kiss. I smiled against his lips as we pulled apart and I looked up at him. "You better get going, Ms. Chandler I think you're late." He announced in a joking manner. I rolled my eyes playfully as we pulled apart. As if I didn't know, he was the main reason I was almost an hour late.
He pulled open his front door for me as I stepped out into the blowing air. I'm glad the sun wasn't beaming, these sweatpants would have become some short khakis quick.
"Hey.." He breathed out and I looked back at him, "I love you." He said, his words floating within me.
I smiled at him and returned his words, "I love you."
I made my way to my car in quick steps and I watched him wait outside the door as I pulled off. I could myself already missing him and being in his arms. I'd have to brave these hours to come but I knew work would make the time fly by. I dug around in my bag and pulled out my phone. I unlocked it and saw a couple people had called but especially Tess. I had exactly ten missed calls from her and a text message that read,
"Where the hell are you?!"
and
"Call me back, ASAP!"
Oh boy.
I pressed her contact on the screen when I stopped at a red light. The phone only rung like two times before she picked up.
"It's nice to see someone owns this phone, I only tried calling you like a thousand times." Tess blared out in her wit.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I know I'm late! I'm on the way now." I stressed to her.
"You aren't at the bakery yet? That's good!" She said in relief.
"Wait what? Are you not at the bakery?" I asked, puzzled.
"No, I'm still at home. That's why I tried to call you." She accentuated still laying on her couch.
"Why are you there? Does that mean Heather opened the store?" I pushed and drove as the light flashed green.
"Yeah yeah I called her early this morning. I didn't open up the store because I can't leave the house. My stupid car broke down! I need you to come pick me up!" She almost yelled and that's when I slowed down so I could make a U-turn.
"Alright, I'm on the way. I'll be there in ten minutes." I acknowledged.
"Bring some food! I'm out of cereal." She said and I knew she was upset about that.
I shook my head and said okay before we hung up.
Vincent
I closed the door behind me and made my way to the kitchen. I pulled some eggs out the fridge with some bacon and laid it on the counter. I grabbed the bread out the pantry and placed it with the rest of the ingredients. I was actually about to cook a full meal in the morning for a change, I was in a great mood. Make that the best mood possible. I wanted to do nothing but lounge around the house all day with her, but we both had work so there was always later. Maybe I'd go see her on my lunch break. Or was that too much? It was going on 8:45 am and I'd next see her at 8:30 pm. That honestly seemed so far away. I guess I'd actually have to focus on getting everything done at work to keep myself occupied.
I placed the pans on the stove as they were just switched on and then the doorbell rung. I perked of the idea of it being Catherine, maybe she left something. I cut the stove down and jogged to the front door. I pulled the door open with my grin prepared but I didn't need the use of it this time. It wasn't Catherine. It was...Brooke. What the hell was she doing here? It wasn't really a problem but I was shocked is all and a bit disappointed.
"Hey." She said in her usual perkiness. She had on a pencil skirt and a top that looked way too small for her. I noticed she had changed her hair..but it really didn't suit her. But whatever.
"Um hey.." I said, briefly running my fingers through my hair, "What are you doing here?" I didn't want to seem rude but I had to ask. I really wanted to know how she knew where I lived. I never disclosed that information to her or really anyone at work but JT.
"I have some news actually, it's about work and it couldn't wait till later. Sorenson doesn't know I'm here and I hope you don't mind, I got your address from your files." She confessed, tittering her fingers together.
I gave her a weird look and she looked at me and sighed.
"Vincent, it's really important. Can I come in?" She asked and I could since some distress in her voice. That meant this was most likely bad important news. There goes my good mood. I let out a large amount of air.
"Yeah sure." I said, opening the door wider and she smiled at me as she made her way in.
Catherine
I blew my car horn for the second time and accidentally frightened the dainty women walking her Chihuahua down the side walk. I sunk down in my seat and turned my head when she looked my way.
Tess finally came out of her apartment and advanced down the stairs. She gave her red Mazda an evil glare before making it towards my car.
"I thought you would have been ready since you've been up!" I said to her, clueless to what took her so long.
"Since you weren't answering my calls, I took off my clothes and got comfortable. Sue me." She shot back as she opened the passenger door and got in.
I crank my car back up as she shut the door, "I'm sorry, I was busy." I said shortly.
I could see her eying me out the corner of my eye.
"Mhmm.." Tess began, "Why are you smiling?" She asked interested.
"I'm not." I said quickly, placing my attention on the road. I could feel myself struggling to just look normal, I couldn't help it.
"I guess we can talk about everything later, as long as we're on the way to get something to eat." She said, scooting down in the seat.
"We can stop by the Starbucks across the street from the bakery." I negotiated glancing at her. She seemed like she had problems getting comfortable in her seat.
"That's fine but what the hell am I sitting on?" She reached her hand under herself and pulled out that big, gold envelope. Crap, I forgot I brought that stupid thing. She eyed me as she flipped the envelope over and I'm guessing she read my name.
"What is this?" She asked and I proceeded to brush it off.
"Some stupid envelope, it's really nothing to think twice about." I convinced her and she went to open the flap.
She gave me an even more puzzled look.
"Why are you sending Evan an envelope filled with white cotton?" She asked, creasing her forehead.
"I'm not! I mean, I didn't! Someone sent that to him. It's not even my handwriting!" I protested.
"I'm sorry I didn't go to calligraphy school." She joked and continued her analyzing of the package. "So someone just sent him this?" She pushed.
"Um yeah, can we not talk about Evan right now?" I pleaded and she gave me a strange look. Great. This is how this would start, she knew things weren't right between us.
"Fine." She said. She still played with the envelope and even placed it upside down and the white cotton came rushing out and guess where it landed? All over my floor.
"Tess!" I shouted and she ignored me as she picked up a note that fell in her lap. Wait where did that come from? There wasn't anything in it when I checked.
"Someone left this note shoved in the bottom." She said before opening the creased paper and I was curious now, having a hard time keeping my eyes on the road.
"What does it say?" I asked as I pulled up at another red light.
"Um, you might wanna read it yourself." She said slowly and I grabbed the paper out of her hand.
I felt myself weaken and my breath hitch.
Stay away from Vincent or else.
This was never meant for Evan, it was meant for me. Someone was threatening me.
