Sorry this is really late! I did something fun, and now I'm having a major block for this! But, I'll do the best I can, I'm a little sad, because we should all know what happens in the end of the chapter!
Also, I would like to dedicate this chapter to NewRandomChild01, in hopes that this will help them see how much they motivate me, and will hopefully this chapter motivate them as well.
A coconut flew through the air, and it was reduced to ashes by a fiery ball. The ninjas were enjoying their momentary celebration on the beach. Earlier, when they left the bounty to go onto the beach, Alexus and Nya were just casually talking on the deck. "Hey, Alexus, do you want to come onto the beach with us?" Cole had asked. Alexus had her back to them, and when she turned around, she saw Cole, with his shirt off. "Nya, I'm having a moment," Alexus said, with a cross between horrified and shock look on her face. Nya held out her arms, and caught Alexus, after she said, "going down," and she fainted. Nya then proceeded to drag Alexus down below the deck, and the ninja watched as Alexus was dragged to her room.
Alexus was now in her room, her blankets covering in an attempt to hide from her embarrassment. "You're going to have to come out of there someday!" Nya called to the pile of blankets. "No I don't," a muffled voice said, the owner of it obviously embarrassed. "Alexus, there is nothing to be embarrassed of. You just saw Cole with his shirt off, I don't get what the big deal is!" Nya said, sitting on the edge of the bed. "It's not because I saw him without a shirt, it was my reaction to it! Everyone saw me being faint of heart!" Alexus said.
"No one is going to care, we all know you pretty well by now," Nya said. "I can't think of any other reason to stay under here, other than the fact that I just want to," Alexus said. "Well, I'm going to get you out if it's the last thing I do," Nya said. "Good luck, this is how I avoided my brothers on the weekends!" Alexus called. Nya cracked her knuckles, and grabbed the top of the blankets, and pulled. They actually pulled away pretty easily, and revealed a Alexus with bed head. "I let you tear those away easily because it was actually pretty stuffy under those," Alexus said, sitting up.
"Okay, first, how is your hair messed up, you were only under there for ten minutes!" Nya said. "You know, I really have no idea, can you hand me that comb?" Alexus asked. Nya did, and Alexus combed her hair flat again. "You ready to go face the world again?" Nya asked, offering a hand. "Alright," Alexus said, taking the hand. "First of all, you're going to the beach, so get your swim suit," Nya said. "Wait, what?" Alexus asked. "I don't do swimming in oceans," she continued. "Why?" Nya asked. "Because, you see the ocean, I see a place where sharks live, and where Zane release a freaking leviathan!" Alexus shouted.
"It's not like you have to go into the water, you can just read on the beach," Nya said. "Alright, fine! But, It's going to be modest, meaning, a black t-shirt, and old sweats," Alexus said. "Fine, if it gets you out!" Nya said, faking her exasperation. So, Nya left the room, while Alexus searched her room for an old t-shirt and sweats.
Ten minutes later, Nya and Alexus met on the deck. Alexus was wearing all black, her shirt, and sweats. "Why are you with me at the moment?" Alexus asked. "Because, to make sure that you don't back down. "I never said I would, because I'm wearing sweats," Alexus said. "Alright, let's go!" Nya said, taking Alexus by the wrist, and leading her off the Bounty, and through the small camp they set up. They climbed over the dune, and saw the boys still using their elemental blades to destroy innocent coconuts.
They walked over to were they were. "Hey, guys!" Nya called. "You're going to stay by my side, right?" Alexus asked. "Of course, I'm not going anywhere!" Nya said, her hands on Alexus' shoulders. "Hey, Nya. Did you come to hang out?" Jay asked, walking over to them. "No, I'm going to work on something with Dr. Julien, but Alexus is here! See ya!" Nya called, before running back over the dune. Alexus had a look that was an even cross of horror and disbelief. "Wing woman of the year," she said sarcastically under her breath. "What was that?" Jay asked. "Nothing, I just came here to read on the beach, nothing else, I hate getting wet," Alexus said. "Alright, if you need any of us, we'll be over there," Jay said, and left with a thumbs up before taking off.
Alexus walked over to a spot with plenty of sun put her sunglasses on, and sat down, and opened her book. She read a few chapters, before she felt something lift her. She dropped her book, and started to scream, as Cole's muscular arms started to carry her to the water. "Oh no, don't you dare throw me into the water, Cole Hence!" she shouted. "Too late, sorry, Jay dared me to do it!" Cole said, obviously trying not to laugh. "If you do this, I will hate you forever!" Alexus shouted. "I'm going to take my chances," Cole said slyly. Alexus tried to fight back, but it was no use. "Help! I'm being dragged into the ocean by a chiseled rock!" She shouted. "Sorry, Alex, this is just going to be way too fun to see to stop this from happening!" Jay shouted, his ribs hurting from laughing so hard.
Alexus heard Cole's feet splash in the water. "I'm warning you! I will use the silver blade on you!" Alexus shouted in one last desperate attempt, but it failed, and she was thrown into cold, neck-high water. She stood up, brushed her hair from her face, and quickly walked out. "I am never talking to you again," she said to Cole, faking her anger. "I got you a towel," he said, holding one up. She took, it, but turned her back to him. Cole knew that she wasn't really never speaking to him, but that didn't keep him from trying. "Come on, you have to say something to me someday," he said, following her. She never answered him, and walked on. He tried to cut her off, but she turned around again.
He lifted her from around the waist. "I'll throw you back in if you don't talk to me!" He threatened, but he was laughing. "Alright, I forgive you, put me back down!" Alexus said, screaming and laughing at the same time. He put her back down. "I knew that would work," he said, smiling. "That was not funny!" Alexus said. "Then why are you laughing?" Cole asked. "Because, you're laughing, and it makes me laugh," Alexus said. "I love it when you laugh, it always makes me happy," Cole said. He put his hands on her face, and kissed her on the lips, causing Kai to roll his eyes.
When they pulled apart, Cole smiled again. "You know, you really are beautiful when you're trying to be mad," he said. "Thanks, I try so hard," Alexus said sarcastically. "Hey, Cole! Go long!" Kai shouted, pointing to something flying through the air. "Eat dirt, scumbag!" Cole shouted, whipping out his elemental blade. Zane gasped, and pushed Cole, sending his ice towards Cole's earth, which now upon closer look, the coconut was the newly repair falcon! The earth just barely missed the falcon, and Alexus breath in relief.
"That is not a coconut," Zane said, and the falcon landed on his outstretched hand. "Great reflexes," Cole complimented. "Good to have you back," Zane said to his falcon, and it flew off again. "Well, I hate beaches more than ever now, I hope you guys are happy, where's my book?" Alexus asked. "I have it," Jay said, walking over to them. "Thank you, and see you later!" Alexus said, walking back to the dune. She walked back onto the Bounty, and went back to her room.
Ten minutes later, she walked back out onto the deck, but with dry clothes. She walked over to where Nya was working on the vehicle that Cole crashed yesterday. She waited because she knew that it would be very dangerous to approach Nya while she had a wielding torch, and couldn't hear or see her. She looked around, nothing out of the ordinary, and now, she realized that she was extremely bored, so, she pulled out the book she was reading earlier.
She was having fun with Dumblebore's Army, or D.A. for short, when she distinctively heard her name being called somewhere. "Alexus!" Nya called, snapping her out of her trance. "Yes, Professor?" Alexus asked.. "What?" Nya asked. "Nothing, sorry, just in my own world," Alexus brushed off. "Right, so what were you thinking of?" Nya asked, jumping down and landed swiftly in the sand. "Um, I was taking Defense Against the Dark Art's lessons with Harry; it's not like Umbridge is going to teach me anything," Alexus said. "Who?" Nya asked. "No one important, just a book character I really hate," Alexus said.
"Oh, by the way, thank you for leaving me alone, please note the sarcasm in my voice!" Alexus said, with much sarcasm. "What happened?" Nya asked. "I got thrown into the water! If you were there, you could have helped me!" Alexus said. "Why didn't you fight back?" Nya asked, smiling. "Because, she said, and I quote, 'I'm being dragged into the ocean by a chiseled rock!'" Cole said, walking up behind her with a smile on his face. It took all Nya had to not laugh at that moment. "Well, he is the earth ninja!" Alexus said, trying to defend herself. "You know, I could still do it again!" Cole said, before grabbing Alexus, and picking her up again.
"Oh no, not again, put me down!" Alexus shouted. "The more you protest, the more I feel compelled to do it!" Cole said. "Nya, help!" Alexus called, but she was laughing. "Sorry, but I can't do anything against a 'chiseled rock,'" Nya called, laughing. "Yes you can, just get that wielding torch you had earlier, or better yet, your brother, that just so happens to be a ninja that is a master of one of the most destructive elements!" Alexus said. "I'll see what I can do," Nya said, fake sighing, then, she ran over the dune where the others are. "Uh oh, they're coming!" Cole said, and he put Alexus back down. "You know, that's getting old pretty fast!" Alexus said.
"Not really, at least you aren't threatening to not talk to me," Cole said. "That's because this time you didn't actually throw me into the water," Alexus said. Cole had no answer, and Alexus had no more words. They looked into each other's eyes, and Cole leaned down to kiss Alexus on the lips. Five seconds later, they were interrupted by a voice. "Ew, gross, they're kissing again!" Jay shouted, purposely sounding like a little kid. "Really, Nya, you dragged us here just to see that? If I wanted to see that, I would have left them alone in a room for five minutes and go back into the room!" Kai said, after Cole and Alexus pulled apart.
"Good, your all here," a voice came from behind them, making Alexus jump, even though it was just Misako was coming from the Bounty with a scroll in her hands. She laid it out on a nearby table that had blueprints on it. Alexus couldn't read anything on it, which was a huge shock to her, but it had a lot of red and black, and thinking that made her feel like she just lost 20 I.Q. points. "What does it say?" Alexus asked. Everyone gathered around at this point. "When the helmet of shadows is bequeath to the Dark Lord, he will gain control of the an indestructible army," Misako started. "So that's probably how he got the stone army under his control," Kai said. "Uh, you lost me at 'bequeath,'" Jay said. "Don't let us interrupt you," Cole said, glaring at Jay and Kai.
Alexus was remembering what "bequeath" means, and she started to zone out. Bequeath means leave to a person or other beneficiary will. Or, it could mean pass on or leave something to someone else, Alexus thought. "So we have to break into Garmadon's fortress, and snatch the helmet from his head?" Kai asked, snapping Alexus out of her thoughts. "My brother's right, they're good, but they're not that good," Nya said. "That is why I'm going to do it," Misako said, and the ninja gathered around her to hear the plan. Alexus turned to Nya. "I'm I missing something? I think I zoned out," Alexus said. Nya smiled, and rolled her eyes. "It's possible that if we return the helmet to the Celestial Clock, we could stop the countdown to the final battle," Nya said, and Alexus nodded in an understanding way.
"Oh, right, I would like to assume that the mission is too dangerous for me to come along?" Nya nodded. "You catch on quick, but, I won't be able to spar with you, I still have to work on the vehicle. Do you want to help?" Nya asked. "No thank you, I'm dead awful at technology!" Alexus said. "Hold on, I think that I might have something for you to do then, follow me," Nya said, leading Alexus onto the Bounty.
They walked into the control room, and Nya handed Alexus a pair of goggles. "These will let you see what the falcon is seeing, so you can keep up with what the guy are doing while they're on their mission. Let me know if they need help!" Nya said, and she left the control room. Alexus shrugged, and put them on. "Wow, these are cooler than I thought!" she said, as the falcon soared over countless trees.
The falcon flew at a quick pace through the jungle, and soon, the place that could only be Garmadon's fortress loomed into view. "Wow, that was Misako's plan?" Alexus asked as the falcon perched on the tall wall, and looked down. The four ninja were dressed as stone warriors, and they looked utterly ridiculious, especially when they tried to imitate the stone warriors ancient language. Alexus laughed out loud when Jay started doing the running man, saying in a scratchy voice, "Bequeath! Bequeath! Bequeath!"
The stone warrior in front of them pulled Misako away, while the ninja tried to blend in with the other ones. Nothing much was going on, and the falcon flew into the fortress. Alexus gasped when she was the machinery that the warriors were building, and let out a bigger one when a gigantic cannon-like weapon loomed into her vision. The cannon seemed to be the stone army's main priority. "Oh, I got a bad feeling about that thing," Alexus said aloud. The falcon looked to the right, and Alexus faced palmed. The four ninja were carrying small amounts of something that Alexus knew was definitely not on the periodic table of elements.
She face palmed even harder when Cole knocked a half-stack stone warrior off of the whole structure, but she laughed a little. "Oh no, I have to warn Nya!" Alexus shouted when the warriors started to surround the ninja. She forgot to take off the goggles, and ended up crashing into the door frame. She quickly took them off, and ran out onto the deck. "NYA!" she shouted, jumping cleanly off over the railing of the deck. Nya put the wrench in her hand down, and looked at her scared apprentice. "Whoa, Alexus, slow your roll, what's wrong?" Nya asked, as Alexus skidded to a stop in front of her mentor. "Check this out!" Alexus said, handing her the goggles. Nya put them on, and started to frown. "Alright, you stay here, good thing Dr. Julien and I finished this," Nya said, hopping into the newly repaired vehicle.
She started it up, and it started to drill into the ground, leaving a huge hole in the ground. Alexus headed back to the control room, and was about to put the goggles back on, but someone's voice rang out. "Hey, Alexus," Lloyd said, entering the room. "Hey, Lloyd, check this out!" Alexus said, walking over to him, holding up the goggles. "Whoa, this is awesome," Lloyd said. "Yep, that's what it's like to have Zane's falcon vision," Alexus said, and Lloyd took off the goggles. "You might want to check this out!" he said, and Alexus put them back on. Nya had arrived at the fortress, and was barreling through stone warriors, and heading straight for Garmadon. "How did she get there so fast? What kind of mileage does that thing get?" Alexus asked, as Nya knocked Garmadon's mech down.
"How did you know we were in trouble?" Jay asked when Nya parked next to where they were standing. "Look up," she said, pointing to the falcon. "Thanks Alex!" Nya called to the falcon. Alexus watched as they all hopped into the vehicle, and drilled back into the ground. "You know Lloyd, I'm glad we're hanging out. For our destiny's being so closely tied together, I'm surprised that we don't hang out more often," Alexus said. "Huh, I guess you're right, we never really talked to each other much since you arrived," Lloyd said. "What's going on?" he asked. "Um, so far, they're being chased through the forest, oh no!" Alexus said. "What?" Lloyd asked. "Your father's catching up to them, we have to go warn Sensei!" Alexus shouted, grabbing Lloyd by the wrist, and pulling him along. She still had the goggles on, and she crashed into the door frame again. "Oh, twice in a row?" Alexus asked, taking them off. "Let's go!" she continued, pulling the green ninja along.
"Sensei, I have no time to explain, but put these on!" Alexus said, handing him the glasses. "That's what the falcon sees, what should we do?" Alexus asked in a worried tone. "Only you and Lloyd can save them, I'll meet you at the place of the Celestial Clock," Sensei said. "Come on!" Alexus said, dragging Lloyd off the deck, and out to the forest.
They don't know how they found the ninja so fast, but somehow, they did. "Look!" Alexus called, pointing. In front of them, Garmadon was in his mech, holding the Turbo Drill, as Alexus had dubbed it, in his hand, and shaking it like a child with a toy. "I have an idea!" Alexus said, she whispered it into his ear, and he nodded and smiled. Alexus stretched out her left hand, in a Tony Stark sort of fashion, pointing it at the mech. Lloyd pressed his back to hers, and stretched out his left in the same way. "LET THEM GO!" they shouted in unison, before combining their powers, and shot at Garmadon, sliver twisting with green.
They knocked the mech clean off of it's feet, and Garmadon dropped the rest of the team. Alexus quickly ran over to them, as the ceiling opened up. "Alexus?" they all asked in unison when they saw her. "And I would have gotten away with it too! If it wasn't for you meddling kids and the nindroid!" Alexus said, laughing at the end. "Whoa, look!" Cole pointed, before anyone could say anything about Alexus. "Holy canoli! Lloyd Garmadon at a face off!" Jay shouted. As Lord Garmadon staggered out of the pile of wreckage.
"Be careful, Lloyd!"
"He's venerable!"
"Strike now!"
"Do not hesitate!"
"Good luck!"
"It ends now, father. It's destiny," Lloyd said, before putting his hands together, and concentrating, before a green orb formed from his palms. He looked at his father, and then, he stopped and the orb disappeared. "No, what is he doing?" Jay said. "If the green ninja fails to defeat the dark lord, then the chosen apprentice must take his place," Zane said. Alexus gulped before jumping down onto the dirt. "Good luck, Alex!" Cole shouted. "I believe in you!" Nya called. Alexus stood next to Lloyd, and pulled out her silver blade. She too, concentrated, and her iris' began to turn silver. Before she could actually do anything, she heard a yell that didn't belong to any of the ninja. She looked to her left and saw stone warriors coming. Garmadon laughed. "So weak," he said. Alexus put her sword away, before she and Lloyd ran to the Turbo Drill. "There's only one seat left!" she said. "You take it!" she said to Lloyd. "No, you!" Lloyd said. "Lloyd, just take it! Alexus, you can sit on Cole's lap for all I care at this point!" Nya shouted as the stone army drew nearer. Alexus blushed before she sat down.
"Ugh, floor it, Nya!" Kai shouted, looking at the two. "Couldn't have built it with eight seats!" Alexus muttered under her breath, as they drilled into the ground at all. There was a small silence between everyone as they rode on. "Please tell me that the Celestial Clock is near!" Alexus said, breaking the silence. "Just less than a quarter of a mile at this point!" Nya called back to her. Cole tried to make the most of the moment. "So, have you seen anything new lately?" he asked. Alexus rolled her eyes. "Really? Out of all the opening lines you could have used, you go with that one?" she asked. "Well, I'm just trying to make the most of the moment," Cole said, defensively.
"Yeah, and how are you doing so far?" Alexus asked. "Well, I thought I was doing fine, but apparently not," Cole said. "Ugh, I can't take it anymore! Please tell me that we're there, or I'm throwing myself out of this thing!" Kai asked. "We're there!" Nya said, sounding a little irritated. One second later, they broke the surface of the stone, and Alexus was the first to get out of vehicle. "Oh come on, it wasn't that bad!" Cole said. "I know, but it was stuffy in there!" Nya looked at the clock in amazement. "Wow, this thing is a mechanical master piece!" she said. "You're welcome to dismantle it when we're done," Misako said, seeing Nya's awestruck expression.
"So, what now?" Alexus asked. "We find the resting place for the helmet," Misako said. Alexus started looking around the clock. The helmet was tossed among them when they thought they saw the resting place. Alexus never had any suggestions, and the clock was counting down. "Could this be the place?" Sensei called to Jay. He tossed it down, but before anyone could do anything, a stone warrior pushed Sensei out of the way, and caught the helmet! "Oh come on! Why does fate hate us! I'm too lazy to receive good or bad karma!" Alexus shouted. "Well, actually, you have been doing quite a few things, not nessicarely bad, but-" Cole stopped talking at Alexus glare. The warrior holding the helmet was laughing, but quickly stopped when a moving part knocked the helmet out of his hands. It was hit by more parts, and eventually, it was practically on top of the gears.
One warrior wasted no time to climb the clock, and was more than halfway to the helmet when Cole finally started to climb. They all watched, not moving. If Alexus hadn't kicked her old habit, she would have been biting her nails. Instead, she had a new habit, and she was gripping her necklace as if though hanging on for dear life. The stone warrior was holding the helmet, but one second later, Cole knocked him off, and grabbed the helmet. He held it up in victory, but it was knocked out of his hands by another moving gear.
They all held in their breath, as the helmet fell in the gears, but where it landed made them all gasp. In front of the helmet was a perch, or a resting place for a helmet. Misako ran forward, but a stone warrior stood in her way. Sensei knocked the warrior out of the way, and Misako proceeded. Alexus held her breath as the clock was mere seconds away!
3...
Misako grabbed the helmet.
2...
Misako was just about there!
1...
Misako was placing the helmet back in its place!
0...
The helmet was on the perch securely, and the ticking had stopped. Did it work?
It seemed so, nothing was happening! "It worked!" Jay shouted in victory. The whole team celebrated, while the warriors were fuming. Alexus high-fived Jay, and someone tapped her shoulder. It was Cole, he smiled sheepishly. "So..." he started, but he didn't have to say much. Alexus put her hands on his face, and pulled him in to kiss him full on the lips. He returned the kiss with a great eagerness, but the sound of an alarm-like sound made them pull apart.
The gears had started moving again, and they work as if though in sync with each other. They suddenly stopped, as a beam was fired, and it reflected from the gears, until eventually, it was fired to somewhere distant. "What's that noise?" Alexus shouted over the siren. "The horns of destruction," Misako said. "What an awfully cheerful name!" Alexus said. They started backing up, trying to distance themselves from the warriors that were preparing for battle. Somehow, Nya and Alexus ended up in front of everyone else, but that didn't bother them.
They were preparing for a battle that was to come when they heard a defining crack! The part of the cliff that was behind Nya and Alexus started to break off. Suddenly, Alexus felt something push her onto the breaking side just as it started to fall. the suddenness of the shifting rock threw her off balance, an she fell onto the ground. "NYA!" she heard Jay call as she tried to stand up, but the ledge moved again, and the force threw her back down onto her stomach.
She finally got back to her feet in time to see her mentor grabbed from behind by a stone warrior! "Nya!" Alexus called. Suddenly, the rock gave a sickening lurch, before I collapsed completely. Alexus parted from he ledge, and was soon free-falling, and she crashed into the water. There was one huge flaw to Alexus; she can't swim. She frantically waved her arms around, but she wasn't so ure that is was helping. Then, something grabbed the collar of her shirt, and pulled her up. Her head broke the surface of the water, and she started gasping for breath as someone pulled her to the shore.
"Alexus, are you okay?" Cole asked, his voice filled with concern. She coughed a little to get the remaining water out. "No," she said, standing up, and following everyone's gaze up. Alexus felt her heart break seeing Nya struggle in the distance. "We have to go back!" Kai shouted. "If we go back, they'll be gone by the time we get there!" Misako said. "This is all my fault, if I hadn't hesitated..." Lloyd started, but he never finished. "Lloyd if anything, this is my fault!" Alexus said. "It is all your fault! If Nya hadn't shoved you off, she might still be with us!" Jay shouted at her. Alexus said nothing to defend herself; for she felt his words to be true. "It's not her fault, it's just the way the cookie crumbles!" Cole said, stepping up for her. "Are you still making jokes?" Jay asked in a low, fierce voice. "They have Nya, and you're still making jokes?"
Before anyone could react, Jay tackled Cole into the sand, and raised his fist as Alexus could only watched in horror. "Enough!" Sensei shouted. Kai pulled Jay off Cole, and Alexus helped him to his feet. "We are all at fault! We don't need any more losses," Sensei said. "We have to go back, so you will be prepared, so next time, you will not hesitate," Misako said. They started to leave the beach, but Alexus stayed behind a little and looked up. Seeing Nya one last time, before Cole grabbed her wrist and gently pulled her away, sent tears to her eyes. Cole pulled her close, and put his arm over her shoulder, while she cried lightly.
Okay, so I hope that made up for the longer wait. So, I hope this was nice but I don't really have much to say, so see you next time!
