Chapter 21: A Brighter Tomorrow
"Tsuna!" Yamamoto shouted gaining everyone's attention. Once they noticed Tsuna was on the floor and not moving, they rushed to his side.
"What happened?" Reborn asked
"I don't know. I was talking to him and he just fell." Yamamoto explained worryingly
Reborn turned his attention towards Tsuna and started to do a quick check on Tsuna's body.
He sighed in relief "There's nothing to worry about. He just fainted for exhaustion. Tsuna must have been pushing himself over his limit while fighting Daemon." Reborn said "Anyway, we should all go to the hospital. He's not the only one who is beaten up and exhausted." Everyone nodded at the suggestion and left back to the hospital.
To say the doctors and nurses were shocked from the arrival of 16 heavily injured or regularly injured teens was an understatement. The doctors would have shoved them out the hospital and say 'they don't need any troublesome teenagers in their hospital' if it weren't for Hibari being with the group. Not wanting to be bitten to death, the doctors quickly told the nurses to find rooms for all of them, except Tsuna because he already has a room, and treat their injuries.
The nurses nodded and ushered them to open rooms. As soon as they were in their rooms, the doctors started to check on their wounds.
Everyone was released from their rooms shortly after their little check-up, well, everyone except Tsuna and Enma.
Enma was still being treated for his stab wounds, while Tsuna was already finished treated and was resting in bed. After a few minutes, the doctor finished treating Enma's injuries and let him go. After hearing that, Enma wasted no time leaving the room, where he found his family waiting for him.
"How's your arm, Enma?" Adelheid asked
"The doctor said it'll be fine, but it will take about a month to fully recover." Enma said "How about your wounds?"
"That's good to hear. We're fine, nothing too bad." Adelheid answered
"Okay... umm... How's Tsuna?" Enma asked in concern
Adelheid opened her mouth to speak but was cut off when Reborn came out of nowhere and kicked her boss in the head, resulting in Enma falling.
"If you're worried about him then just see for yourself!" Reborn said
"Ow..." Enma mumbled as he rubbed his head. After the pain subsided he looked up at Reborn "Can I?"
"Of course, everyone else has and by now they've probably left, so you won't have to worry about unexpected visitors." Reborn said "Now hurry up and go before I kick you over there!"
Not wanting to be kicked again, Enma quickly got up and went to visit Tsuna, but not before telling Adelheid and the others that it was okay to leave without him. After a few minutes of running, Enma arrived at Tsuna's room. He took a deep breath before walking into the room.
In the room, Tsuna was lying down on the bed with a few tubes connected to his arm. The tubes were connected to bags filled with liquid for what Enma could only guess was for nutrients. He walked up towards Tsuna's bed and sat down on the chair right next to the bed.
Enma sat there in pure silence, the only sound was from Tsuna's steady breathing. This continued until Reborn's voice came.
"The doctors said that he had over exhausted himself and has only a few cuts and bruises nothing too serious"
Enma jumped a bit at the unexpected voice, but quickly calmed "That's good to hear... Will he be waking up soon?"
"Who knows? He could wake up the next second or he could wake up tomorrow. Depends on when he decides to wake up." Reborn said
"I see..." Enma said and continued to stare at Tsuna's sleeping figure.
After a while the room was engulfed in silence yet again. Enma waited a few more minutes until turning around and noticing that Reborn left the room.
He sighed in relief. It scared him some times when he was with Reborn. After all, who wouldn't be scared of the best and deadliest hitman in the world who can also appear out of nowhere?
Snapping out of his thoughts Enma turned back to Tsuna who looked as though he was just having a normal sleep. He listened to the rhythm of Tsuna's breathing. He continued to listen to it until it somehow turned into a lullaby for Enma and he started to feel sleepy.
Enma rested his head into his arms at the edge of the bed 'A small nap won't hurt anyone.' Enma thought and fell asleep.
Unfortunately, his small nap lasted for the whole night. He woke up the next morning to the feeling of someone or something running a hand through his hair.
Enma slowly opened his eyes and sat up from the bed. He yawned and rubbed his eyes trying to get them adjusted to the morning sun's rays. As his eyes were adjusting, he heard a very familiar voice.
"Good morning, Enma."
Enma turned to the voice. His eyes became wide at the sight of Tsuna smiling at him, but they soon turned back to normal and he smiled back.
"Good morning, Tsuna" Enma said "How do you feel?"
"I feel better than yesterday that's for sure, but I'm still a bit tired." Tsuna answered "How about your wounds?"
Enma looked at his bandaged arm "The doctor said that I'm alright, but the wound itself will take about a little more than a month to heal."
"That's good to hear." Tsuna said
Enma nodded and the room became silent from lack of a topic, but as soon as it came, it went away.
"Umm... Tsuna? I'm sorry." Enma said
Tsuna tilted his head "Why are you apologizing?"
"Because I didn't believe you and I kind of yelled at you before... So I want to apologize. If I had believed you then maybe this whole thing wouldn't have happened." Enma explained
Tsuna stared at Enma before smiling at him "It's okay, Enma. You have nothing to apologize for. Even if you did believe me I feel like Daemon would have still been trouble for us in the future and besides you came helped me when I needed you so let's count that as even, okay?" Tsuna said
"Still..."
Seeing the red head's reluctance, Tsuna thought of an idea. He held out his pinky"Then how about this, we promise to each other to always have each other's back. Like Shimon and Vongola Primo. This way it'll show that we promise to always believe in each other." Tsuna said "Okay?"
Enma looked at Tsuna then his pinky then back at Tsuna. He gave a soft smile and then linked Tsuna's pinky with his "Okay, I promise."
~One week later~
"Come on Tsuna! We're going to be late!" Enma called as he finished putting on his shoes.
"I'm sorry, Enma!" Tsuna said and hurried out of the kitchen with a slice of toast in his mouth. He quickly finished it and then put on his shoes.
Once Tsuna had them on, they both said their good byes to his mother and ran to school. Unfortunately for them, when they arrived, the school bell rang.
"T-Tsuna why don't we hurry and get to class befor-" Enma stopped when he heard the familiar sound of fans and voice in the wind.
"Sawada, Enma, you are late and for that you shall be purified!" Adelheid said
"A-Adel, can you let us pass this once?" Enma asked
"I can't, if I did then it'll show the other students that they can also get away with things." Adelheid said and quickly inspected the two "But since you both aren't in sloppy uniforms and if you agree to not run away then I'll give you a minor punishment than last time."
Enma and Tsuna looked at each other for a second and decided to do as she said. They did not want to be hung upside down from the top of the school, where they could be seen again.
The two nodded towards Adelheid "Then come with me." She said and started to walk away, they both followed.
~After following Adelheid~
"...um... Adel?"
"Yes, what is it Enma?" Adelheid said
"I thought you said that we were going to get a minor punishment." Enma said
"You did."
"How!" Enma shouted "This is the same punishment you gave me and Tsuna last time!"
And it was true. Enma and Tsuna were currently hanging upside down of a building.
"Enma stop whining!" Adelheid said back "It's not the same. Last time I hung you both from the school building in front of everyone. This time I hung you from a shorter building where no one can see you two."
"But we're still high up!" Enma complained from 20 feet in the air "Why do we get the harsher punishments?"
"Because you both are bosses. You need to go through and concur most dangerous things to lead and show your family members" Adelheid explained and then started to leave "I'll be leaving you two here, while I patrol the school." And with that said she was gone.
Seeing that Adelheid was gone Enma sighed "I'm sorry, Tsuna, looks like it would have been better if we had run for it."
Tsuna shook his head "It's okay, and besides if we did then we might have gotten an even worse punishment than last time." Tsuna said "But you know, this one isn't much of a punishment. I think we're lucky to have this as a punishment."
"What do you mean?" Enma asked confused
Tsuna smiled "Well, for one, we don't have to attend classes. Two, no one can make fun of us here since no one sees us. And three, we're still able to talk with each other, so it's not all that bad." Tsuna explained
Enma smiled too "I guess you're right." Enma said and they both started to chat, while unknowingly they were being watched by 7 people.
"Even when something like this happens to them, their still able to act so carefree." G said
"Haha, well, they're looking on the bright side instead of the negatives." Asari said
Cozart chuckled "This reminds me of the time Giotto and I were stuck like that."
Giotto nodded "I remember, we acted the same way except we actually got out of it after a while." Giotto said and continued to stare at their predecessors "I think the Shimon and Vongola are in good hands... With them in charge I can see both families turning back to the right path."
Cozart smiled "I believe in that too. Though they were in a big predicament about betrayal between each other, their friendship never wavered and they always protected what they cared for. As long as that continues, they'll be just fine."
Everyone nodded in agreement and took one last look at the young bosses laughing with one another before disappearing into their flames.

Omake: Giotto and Cozart's Experience
"Oi, Alaude! I'm said I was sorry!" Giotto shouted behind him as he ran away from his cloud guardian.
Alaude said nothing but continued to chase after Giotto.
This all started when Giotto was walking around the mansion peacefully drinking his coffee. As he was walking around the mansion, Giotto lost his balance for a moment, resulting in him spilling his coffee. Unfortunately for him, Alaude was near him when his coffee spilled, so he got splashed by the hot drink. Giotto quickly apologized to Alaude saying it was an accident, but Alaude heard none of it and took out his handcuffs. Seeing Alaude pull out his handcuffs, Giotto made a run for it, knowing getting caught might mean certain death or a world filled with pain.
Giotto is now running through the mansion trying to escape the wrath of his guardian, while at the same time making sure nothing is damaged. As he continued to run, an idea popped into Giotto's head.
'Running around the house will get me nowhere, so if I can get to the roof I can activate my flames and fly away from Alaude!' Giotto thought happily, he then quickened his pace for the roof.
Once at the roof, Giotto slipped on his gloves, activated his flames, and jumped off the railing of the roof. Unfortunately for Giotto, as he was about to fly away, Alaude had caught up with him and cuffed one of his legs, stopping him from going any further. Alaude forcefully pulled on the handcuff and linked the unused cuff to the railing of the roof, causing Giotto, who is now out of Hyper Dying Will Mode, to hang upside down by one leg.
"Alaude, get me out of this!" Giotto said as he struggled against the handcuff, trying to get up.
Instead of answering, Alaude turned around and walked away.
"Alaude!" Giotto shouted to his guardian. Unfortunately, Alaude had already left, leaving Giotto dangling from the mansion's roof.
Seeing that Alaude wasn't coming back, Giotto kept struggling on the restraints. After a few minutes of struggling, he stopped knowing that it would be impossible doing it by himself.
Giotto sighed 'Is this really how I'm going to spend my day? Dangling on my mansion's roof alo-'
"Oh, hey Giotto."
'-I spoke to soon' Giotto thought and looked in the direction of the voice, where he found his friend, Cozart, who is also hanging on the roof. "Cozart! When did you get here?"
"Hm... I think about 4 hours ago!" Cozart answered "Anyway, why are you up here, Giotto?"
Giotto groaned "I accidentally spilled some coffee on Alaude... How about you? Why are you here?" He said not noticing how long Cozart was hanging
"Oh, well, I got bored, so I stole one of Alaude's handcuffs!" Cozart said smiling
"..."
"?"
"...Cozart, you psycho...!"
"Don't give me that! I was bored out of my mind!" Cozart shouted in his defense "Surprisingly, the chase was pretty fun."
"Anyway, you're lucky that this was your punishment. Who knows what would have happened if you got a different one." Giotto said "So, Cozart, have you tried calling for help?"
"Well, I did. I saw G passing by, but when he saw me like this he face-palmed himself and left." Cozart answered "Other than him, I haven't seen anyone."
"I see..." Giotto said "Then do you have any plans on getting out of this because I really can't stand this."
"Well, now that you're here, I actually do have a plan!" Cozart said "I'll use my gravity manipulation and rise you up towards the handcuff, and then you enter your Hyper Dying Will and then melt the handcuff, freeing you."
"That's actually a good plan. How come you didn't do it so you can get yourself out?" Giotto asked
"Well, whenever I did, I would focus too much on one thing so the other thing is forgotten and I end up failing my plan." Cozart explained
"Oh I see." Giotto said "Alright, let's try the plan!"
"Okay" Cozart said and activated his Hyper Dying Will Mode.
Just as he said, he lifted Giotto up with his Earth Flames. Now that he was close enough to the handcuff, Giotto activated his Hyper Dying Will Mode and melted the cuff, breaking his restriction. Finally having his cuff broken Giotto jumped onto the rooftop.
"It worked!" Giotto said happily and turned to Cozart "Now it's our turn."
Giotto grabbed one of Cozart's hands and then melted his handcuff. After the handcuff was broken, Giotto pulled Cozart on the roof.
"Well that's over, what now?" Cozart asked
"I don't know, I still have rest of the day. Want to chat?" Giotto asked
"Sure" Cozart said and they both talked for the rest of the day, and at the same time being alert for a pale-haired blonde.
