A/N: Aaand I'm back, it's been a while again I know, but not long left on this story, I'm not even sure it will be 25 chapters anymore because I'm getting through the story a lot faster than I expected. Thank you to all who are still here and to those who reviewed and favourite/followed on my last chapter, it was the confidence boost I needed to get back into writing this story again!

The show started off in a nice way, the audience cheered and applauded as they entered and they all made their greetings to the host before they sat down, once the applause had quietened and the host could be heard, they immediately started talking. The three guests were introduced to the viewers in case any were unaware who they were and then they got straight down to business with the questions.

"So Kurt, Blaine, tell me what it's like for you two. You know, dating, going to school together, filming together, does it ever get too much?" he asked, Kurt and Blaine smiled at each other before turning back and answering. The truth was that even though they spent almost all of their time together, it never felt like too much, they still looked forward to seeing each other and they still found it hard to say goodbye.

"Well actually, I've found – and I think Kurt has too – that working together on top of everything else we get to do together is a dream come true. I couldn't ask for anything more perfect than for my first on screen boyfriend to also be my real boyfriend," he answered with a toothy grin, Kurt looked over at him as he answered and felt his chest swell as he heard the words Blaine was saying. It was everything he was thinking too but it just sounded so much better when he got to hear it from Blaine.

"It's not all been plain sailing though, has it? We've all heard the rumours that the sing! Set can get incredibly heated at times, what do you make of that?" he asked, Kurt knew this one was aimed at the things that had gone on with him and Brad, he decided that he was going to answer this one before Blaine, they really wanted to hear his side of it after all.

"I wouldn't say it's down to the sing! set, that's a huge generalisation and completely not true, I would just say that wherever you go there'll be individuals who'll try to make things difficult. Whether that's for their own personal gain or simply for their amusement, there's nothing you can do about it but just get through it and push on by any means necessary. I'd say any drama that there was on the set though, has definitely been cleared up, it's one of the most positive places I've ever had the pleasure of spending my time," he explained, thinking about how nice things had been this season.

"Well that's all good news then isn't it?" the presenter beamed, obviously having wanted a juicier story than that. Kurt did his best to avoid the patronising tones that he was getting and instead just remembered that tonight would do wonders for their images if it went well so he couldn't screw it up. "So, we're getting on a bit in this season now, Tyler and Brent are a well established couple and one most favoured by fans I think you'll agree? Would you care to tell us of any upcoming adventures for the pair of them?" he asked, the edges of his mouth creeping up into an expectant smile as he awaited the response.

Both Blaine and Kurt knew he wouldn't like the response he was about to get, neither of them had any idea of what would be coming up in future episodes, all they knew was what they'd already filmed and they had strict instructions not to give that away.

"Well, as far as the two of them are concerned they're still in their honeymoon phase really, I'd say it's definitely too early on to be going through any kind of drama," Blaine explained, going on to say, "though the two of them individually have some things coming up that they're going to have to work through and it's really great to see them supporting each other through that. It's great to see the dynamics between them changing as they go," he finished. Kurt looked up at him and smiled, so far there had been no questions that had thrown him and even when he hadn't known what to say, Blaine had jumped in and saved him.

There were a few more minor questions just to slowly bring the focus off of them and onto the other guest tonight, she hadn't brought her guitar out onto the stage with her so this interview had to be about herself and her music, rather than just a quick introduction before she got on to play her single.

From the interview they had with her, they managed to find out that she'd come from Washington but had moved out to New York when she was 16, from there she managed to play small gigs and shows until she'd built up a reputation and got a record company to sign her. She turned out to be a really interesting person, every track on her album was meaningful to her and they all had different styles, from reggae to pop.

Towards the end of that session both of the interviews blended together as the four of them managed to share some jokes and they all started to get along well, they had just started running low on things to talk about when the director made the sign to wrap things up again.

Once they 'd all quietened down the girl made her way backstage to get her guitar and appeared on the high platform at the other end of the studio where she played a song for them that was her first single from the album. Whilst the camera wasn't rolling after her performance she still came and sat with them, they continued talking for a good ten minutes before the host had to run off and see to something.

The girl had to leave next, grabbing her guitar and slinging it over her shoulder by its strap, she clunked out and they could hear her moving gradually further down the corridor.

"What do you think?" Blaine asked "Time to make a move?" gesturing over to the door, Kurt nodded, the realisation dawning on him that he'd just made it through his first TV interview without any of his worst fears happening. "Are you okay?" he asked, noticing how quiet Kurt was being "I thought you'd be excited, it's our first TV interview!" he exclaimed, trying to wheedle any life out of Kurt that he could.

"Yeah I'm just a little overwhelmed I guess," He shrugged, I think I'll be happier if our PR representatives come and tell us they thought we did well enough for it to air," he reasoned, "But right now I can't really tell how well it went," he said, knowing that it probably sounded crazy to Blaine, who seemed over the moon with how the evening had gone.

"Listen, I know you're worried but you've no need to be, you were professional, charming and funny in all the right places for the whole night so there's no reason for any worry," he reassured him. "Besides, there's nothing you can do about it now and even if they don't like it, they just won't show it and that will be the end of it." He finished with a tone of finality that Kurt knew as Blaine being right, because deep down he knew he was, he just couldn't let himself relax yet.

"What do you say we go get breakfast at the little diner round the corner that you like tomorrow? My treat?" he grinned, knowing Kurt couldn't resist getting pancakes at that place.

Kurt nodded and smiled a little, honestly the thought of going there with Blaine again tomorrow made his night, it wasn't very often their schedules were clear enough for them to be able to go. They carried on walking back to their dressing room in silence, the night's events reeling through their minds. Whilst he hadn't let on, Blaine's talk to him had made him feel much better about the night, there was no doubt in his mind now that whatever happened it wouldn't be the end of the world.

When they did get back to their dressing room, instead of the quiet, empty room they were expecting, they were met with a crowd of friends and family applauding them and cheering for them. They were both laughing now, it was exactly the kind of thing they should have expected and yet it still came as a huge surprise for them. They were overrun with congratulations and raving reviews about how well they'd done, apparently they'd all been allowed to stand at the back of the audience as long as neither Kurt or Blaine saw them so they wouldn't be distracted by them.

"Boys!" Their representative bounced over, her hair slightly dishevelled up and half of her nails chewed off, her blazer was open and her blouse was crinkled and half un-tucked so they could tell she'd been nervous about how it went. "I've been watching the whole evening and I have to say, I'm really impressed with how you handled everything thrown at you, normally there's something we have to make sure they cut out or fix but we haven't had to do that with anything you said so well done," she beamed with pride, straightening out her clothes.

Kurt and Blaine beamed, that was the best response they could have hoped for, not only did they make no mistakes but everyone was completely happy with what they'd done.

"I'm real proud of you, Kurt," Burt said as he pushed through the small gaggle of people waiting to get to Kurt and wrap him up in a hug. Kurt's eyes welled up when he said that, he knew he always had his dad's support whatever he did but it just made it that much more special when he told him so after a night like this. "I know you were nervous about tonight but you went out there anyway and you two stole the show!" he raved, they both laughed, if this was the kind of praise they got they might have to do stuff like this more often.

It had been decided that Blaine would be staying at Kurt's house tonight so that they could both celebrate together, a quiet night in was all they needed to dissect everything that happened.

"I hate to sound like a snob..." Kurt started shifting to cross his legs "but I really hope they have more glamorous places if and when we do another one of these shows." Walking over to get his phone he flopped back down onto the bed to snuggle up with Blaine.

"So do I, I'm really grateful we got the deal though, I've seen so many new actors go to work with Dad and they turn down all these interview opportunities, next thing you know they've left the show and they're never seen again," he shrugged, knowing there was still the remote chance it could happen to them, of course he couldn't tell Kurt that now, not when they were reliving their success.

"Do you think we should tell everyone how it went?" Kurt asked, wiggling his phone in between them.

"Nah, if they're that desperate to know they'll text or call, tonight's just for us as far as I'm concerned," he shuffled over and kissed Kurt on the nose.

The two of them were quiet for a while as they just soaked up each other's presence, Blaine's steady breathing tickling Kurt's nose, their eyes drifting shut every now and then and small soft smiles as they opened and they both realised they were falling asleep.

"I love you," Blaine whispered.

"I love you too," Kurt murmured back, grinning tiredly as they finally allowed themselves to succumb to sleep.

As Kurt and Blaine woke up in the morning, they just laid in bed for a good half an hour, chatting idly and reliving the events from the night before. There was loads left to talk about, given they'd fallen asleep almost as soon as they'd gotten in, it hadn't been a wasted night though so neither regretted it.

"We really shouldn't have gone to sleep without changing first," Kurt mused when he'd finally stood up, looking at the creases and crinkles decorating his shirt.

"Don't worry about it, it's not like you're going anywhere important today, you don't need to impress anyone," he reassured him. The lines in Kurt's forehead faded away as he looked back over to Blaine adoringly, he couldn't go one day without complimenting Kurt and he loved it. "What do you say we go down and get some breakfast? Everyone's down there, I can hear them," he explained, Kurt glanced back down to his outfit with a pained expression.

"Blaine, I didn't bring any spare clothes for today, there's no way I'm going down looking like this," He gestured down.

"Well why don't you just borrow some of mine?" he offered, already going over to his wardrobe to pick out some stuff, luckily at the moment he and Kurt were still roughly the same height and size.

"Won't that look super obvious?" Kurt queried dubiously.

"Well, we're already a couple so it's not like we're hiding anything and if anybody asks we can just explain it. It's all innocent after all so no need to worry," he beamed, holding out a few options to Kurt. "Here, take your pick." Kurt took the options and began to survey them whilst holding them up individually to himself in the mirror, he could feel Blaine's eyes on him the whole time but didn't' react. It was a common enough occurrence that he didn't even mention it these days.

"I think I'll go with this," Kurt said, holding the outfit up with a flourish. The outfit merely consisted of a rolled up pair of jeans and a dark navy button up top, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He disappeared into the bathroom to get changed, Blaine rolled his eyes, he really didn't mind if Kurt wanted to get changed in front of him but he wasn't going to say anything; sometimes it was best just to let him be.

"How much longer so you think you're going to be?" Blaine called after Kurt had been almost forty minutes in the bathroom.

"Just a bit longer, I didn't do my nightly face routine last night so I extended my morning one," he explained, the sounds of different bottle caps being popped open and clicked shut again echoed in from the bathroom.

"Don't be too long, I hate to rush you but I think everyone wants to see us and there's only so long they're going to be able to wait," he called, knowing this would have no impact whatsoever on how much time Kurt took.

"Okay I'm done," he said, coming back into the room. "I told you I wasn't going to be much longer." And with that they went downstairs.

It was quite a sight when the two of them eventually did arrive, Blaine had quickly changed into some sweats whilst Kurt had been getting ready, he still had bed hair and had yet to even look in the mirror to assess how bad the situation was. Kurt, on the other hand, looked just as perfect as normal, a complete contrast to how Blaine looked.

"Glad to see you two are finally up, we thought we might have to send a search party," David said as he got some juice out of the fridge to pour for them.

"Very funny Dad, but we've been awake for ages actually," he replied, feeling rather smug.

"If you say so, there's news by the way," he said vaguely, nodding in the direction of the lounge where everyone else was seated.

In the living room was Bryan and Rocky, Goldie – who Kurt had now met a handful of times – and her daughter Shannon. They each had a mug in hand and looked a little on the tired side after last night, there seemed to be good spirits all around as the two of them came in however.

"There they are!" Bryan cheered when he saw them, he put his mug down and went shuffled over so they had room to sit on the sofa.

"Dad said you had news," Blaine pushed when they'd sat down, a pregnant pause followed with the occupants of the room glancing excitedly round at each other.

"I can't hold it in any longer!" Bryan jumped up from his place just as David came into the room and stood next to him; David put his arm around Bryan's waist and whispered something in his ear that neither of the boys heard.

"Okay, this is great news for both of you and I wanted to come and wake you up when I knew but I was advised otherwise." He shot a sidelong glance at everyone else.

"We don't normally get this excited about this but it doesn't usually happen to people so close to us," David explained. "Let's not drag this out any longer," He grinned at Bryan, the little sparkle back in his eye because he knew how desperate Bryan had been to tell them all morning.

"You've both been nominated for the award of best on-screen relationship for sing!" he sing-songed proudly.

Both Kurt and Blaine's eyes shot open as they both sat in stunned silence, they'd thought everything was going well but to be nominated for an award was the cherry on top.

"What kind of award?" Kurt asked, trying to think of all of the different award shows that ran in the summer months.

"It's a teen choice award, which doesn't sound that great I know, but if you get it, it means you've really made an impact. It could also lead to other awards too, so I wouldn't see it as anything but good," He explained. Kurt hadn't been thinking anything else though, just being nominated for the teen choice awards meant a huge deal to him as it meant he'd finally overcome everything that had been thrown at him. This was his chance to show those bullies back at McKinley –Karofsky in particular – that they hadn't managed to bring him down no matter what they did to him.

He looked over to Blaine to see a similar expression on his face.

"Now before you two go getting excited, just remember you may not win it just yet, as much as this is great news don't go letting yourselves get overconfident," he warned them and they both nodded. After managing to assure everyone they wouldn't go getting too excited they stayed for a while to celebrate before making their way back upstairs to celebrate together.

"I can't wait to tell everyone, this is so exciting," Kurt babbled "You know what this means right? We're the role models now, we've proved that we can do and now we'll be the examples," He beamed, overjoyed with the news.

"I wouldn't go getting ahead of ourselves, not after we just promised my Dad that we wouldn't get hung up on the idea of winning," he warned him, not sure how Kurt would handle it if they didn't win.

"Oh it's not just about the award though don't worry, I'm excited because this means that a substantial amount of people have actually watched the show and seen us and thought we looked like a great couple. That's more than I could have asked for in the first place, you know there are so many people who'll see a gay couple and change channels in disgust but now we know that there has to be at least some people out there who'll tune in to sing! Just to see them together, I think that's something special don't you?" Kurt said, feeling suddenly overwhelmed that all of this could have happened so fast.

"Well when you put it that way, it does seem like a giant weight lifted, it's like it doesn't even matter if people are rude or obnoxious to us anymore because there are just as many people, if not more, that are on our side willing to fight this war with us." And with that they relaxed and allowed just a moment to themselves to take it all in

"This year's been crazy, I'm so glad I got to spend it all with you," Blaine told him, reflecting on how much they'd been through together.

"Me too, honestly, I don't think I would have gotten through it without you," Kurt replied, feeling calm with the knowledge that he would always have Blaine by his side now. "I'm really glad you did agree to be on sing in the end, it wouldn't have been half as much fun without you to share all these experiences with," he said, thinking of how it would be if Blaine still wasn't on the show. They wouldn't be nominated for this award, that's for sure.

"That's a good point, we would have missed out on so much in that case," Blaine pointed out, almost in awe of how different things could be.

"Oh my god! I can't wait to call everyone and tell them!" Kurt burst out, suddenly remembering that not everybody knew yet.

"Careful how you tell them though," Blaine stepped in, not wanting Kurt to do anything he might regret.

"What do you mean?" Kurt asked, he couldn't think of any way he might regret telling the people closest to him about this.

"Well, when anyone else from one of Dad's shows has ever got nominated, their PR representatives have normally stepped in and helped them to pick the best way of releasing the news. It'll be up on the site anyway, but it won't spread properly until you announce it," he said, having seen this process many times before.

"Oh I wasn't thinking about all of that yet, I just wanted to call or text family or friends," Kurt reassured him, his mind hadn't even begun to process how he was going to share the news with everyone else yet, whether he should take the humble approach or be more himself and add some humour to it. Still, that wasn't the most important thing at the moment; he could decide that later, right now there were a lot of people the two of them had to tell.

The two of them both got their phones out and went to sit on Blaine's bed, Blaine was first to open up a text to some of the warblers since his family already knew but Kurt opened his list of contacts and scrolled straight down to Dad. He held his breath in for a few seconds before making the call, he knew this would mean so much to Burt, the two of them had been through so much together and now they were getting things back, it was like compensation.

The phone rang for three times before there was the small click of it being answered and Burt's voice came down the phone with the slight echo that meant he was at the garage.

"Dad?" Kurt asked, not wanting to talk about anything else, rather get straight to the point.

"Yeah son?" Burt replied, sounding suspicious, after all it was a strange way to start a conversation.

"I have news, great news that is," he couldn't help but beam with excitement as he spoke.

"Don't keep me in suspense then," Burt chuckled, eagerly awaiting the news.

"I got nominated for a teen choice award with Blaine!"

A/N: And you get to wait until next time for Burt's reaction and future shenanigans! Please stick around, it means a lot, and I hope you're still enjoying this story! If you could leave reviews that would be great but don't feel obliged...
