Chapter 21

BPOV

Everyone gathered at our house for New Year's Eve and that was when we told everyone the good news about the baby. Everyone was happy for us and Esme was happy that she wasn't going to be pregnant alone. Then we told them when we planned to have the wedding and of course Alice flipped out. She claimed that she needed more time to throw a big wedding, but we explained to her that we wanted a small wedding with just immediate family and close friends. Angela was able to come since their parents left a couple of days after Christmas and their brother left the day after Christmas.

The next couple of weeks consisted of Alice showing up at random times to discuss wedding details with Rosalie and me finding replacements for Rosalie and Esme. Once that was sorted out I became the official chauffer for my beautiful future wife and my midget best friend. Alice had us going all over Houston for everything you could think of. We had to get tents for the backyard, we had to do the cake testing, find Rosalie's dress (which I had to sit in the car for), get me fitted for a tux, find someone to marry us, and many other things. Rosalie and I decided to take the simple route and order invitation online. Even though we told everyone when and where the wedding was going to be, we still got invitations and handed them out.

My parents found a house nearby that they bought and were in the process of closing on and planned to be completely moved into by the end of January. They wanted to be settled in before the wedding.

"Hey baby, have you scheduled your doctor's appointment yet?" I ask Rosalie. She hadn't said anything to me yet and I wanted to make sure I could go to it.

"Oh yeah I have. It's on the 16th at one in the afternoon. I'm sorry I forgot to tell you. Will you be able to actually go?" she asks me.

"Yeah, I would be able to go no matter what. I wouldn't miss this for the world." I tell her. I knew I had to rearrange my schedule a little but it was no real big problem and Alice or Jasper could handle the meeting with our liquor distributer.

Thursday came quickly and I was nervous. I didn't know what to expect. We walked in to the doctor's office about ten minutes before the appointment. Rosalie goes to the counter to check in and I find us a couple of seats. They appear to be busy with the waiting room full of women. From what I read online about this doctor, she seems to be really good and I'm glad that Rosalie was already established here.

We waited in the waiting room for almost an hour before we were called. When we headed towards the back the nurse took Rosalie's blood pressure, pulse, temperature and weight. Once that was done, they handed Rose a cup and pointed her in the direction of the bathroom. I hung around waiting for her to finish. Once she walked out, she handed the cup to the nurse and then another nurse led us to a room. She handed Rosalie some sort of cover and told her to strip down and left the room. I stared at Rosalie as she started pulling her clothes off and folded them. After she put the cover on her she handed me her clothes and sat on the table. I sat down on the stool and rolled over to her. I grab her hands in mine and just sit there.

"Are you nervous?" she asks me.

"Yeah. Are you?"

"Maybe." She laughs. "I've been through all this before, but it was so different last time. I had just got here and didn't know anyone and I was so lonely. But now I have you and I couldn't be happier. I just hope everything is okay."

We sat and waited for the doctor to in which she did about fifteen minutes later. The door opened and revealed a beautiful, tan skinned woman with medium length black hair. Dr. Carmen Ramirez looked young to be a doctor but knowing what I read online, I knew she was one of the best, plus she was the one who delivered Sophie.

"Hi Rosalie. How are you doing?" Dr. Ramirez asked.

"I'm okay Carmen. Bella I would like you to meet Dr. Carmen Ramirez. Carmen this is my fiancé Bella." Rosalie introduced us.

"It's nice to meet you." I say as I shake her hand.

"It's nice to meet you too. So Rosalie, your chart says that you are here because you think that you are pregnant correct?"

"Yes. The home pregnancy tests all showed up positive."

"Okay. When was the first day of your last period?" Carmen asked.

"November 10th."

"Okay and have you experienced any morning sickness?"

"Yes." Rosalie asked as I held in a snort remembering how I was ready to force her to go to the hospital.

"Okay, well I'm going to have a nurse come in a take some blood from you real quick and then I'll come back and examine you while that runs, but I'm pretty sure that it's safe to say that your pregnant." Carmen states with a smile and then she leaves the room.

A few minutes later a nurse comes in and draws some blood from Rosalie, who doesn't look too well and keeps a hold of my hand. Once that is done, Carmen and the same nurse come back into the room and I move off of her stool and go stand by Rosalie. After Carmen is done with checking out Rosalie, she leaves us so that Rosalie can get redressed and says that she will be back in a few minutes to talk to us.

"You better be glad that you don't have to go through that." Rosalie tells me as she redresses.

"Trust me I am. How are you feeling now?" I ask her.

"Hungry." She says with a laugh.

"Okay. As soon as we are done here, we will go get whatever you want for lunch and then go get Sophie from Alice and Victoria's place." I tell her with a chuckle. Carmen knocks on the door a few minutes later and asks if she can come in.

"Okay, so your blood results do show that you are in fact pregnant. From the date of your last period I'm thinking that your due date is around August 10th, but I'm going to confirm that for you today with an ultrasound if you want."

"Of course we want an ultrasound!" Rosalie exclaims happily.

We follow the doctor down to the ultrasound room and Rosalie hops up on the table. She rolls her shirt up and Carmen tucks a towel into her pants before squirting gel on Rosalie's stomach. Carmen then took the wand and put it on Rosalie's stomach and started moving it around. Soon we heard a thumping sound in the room. I looked over to Rosalie and saw tears forming in her eyes and couldn't help but lean down and kiss her.

"Your baby has a strong heat beat." Carmen tells us. She moves the wand around a little bit more. "And right there is your baby. It looks like your due date is actually August 17th. Congratulations you guys." She tells us as she points to the screen. She hits a few more buttons and prints out the ultrasound pictures for us.

"I'm going to give you guys a minute." Carmen says as she helps Rosalie clean off her stomach.

"You cannot believe how unbelievingly happy you have made me." I tell Rosalie as I give her another kiss.

"I'm can't believe that we are having a baby together." She says as she gives me another kiss. It starts to heat up and then her stomach growls interrupting us.

"Let's go pick up Sophie and then have a family dinner." I tell her with a chuckle.

We walk to the front desk hand in hand and Rosalie sets up her next appointment in four weeks for another checkup. We get in our car and head over to Alice's place to pick up Sophie. Rosalie and I decided to tell Sophie about the baby that night when we got home from dinner.

As soon as Alice opens the front door she starts demanding to see the ultrasound picture and she wanted all the details. We were finally able to leave close to six o'clock. We decided to go to Cheddar's for dinner. We finally got home at around eight o'clock that night. Rosalie took Sophie upstairs to give her a bath. After her bath was done, we went to put Sophie into bed and decided to tell her about the baby. I had told Rosalie what Sophie told me about wanting a brother or sister so we weren't as nervous as we were before.

"So do you remember when you told me that you wanted a brother or sister?" I started.

"Yeah, Santa didn't bring me one."

"Well, Mommy's going to have a baby. So you will have a little brother or sister soon." Rosalie tells her.

"Where's the baby at now?" Sophie asks Rosalie.

"The baby is in Mommy's tummy and in a few months when the baby is bigger and stronger he or she will be ready to come be with us."

"Okay. I can't wait." Sophie says as she lets out a yawn.

"Get some sleep sweetheart. Goodnight." I tell her as I give her a kiss on her forehead. Rosalie does the same. We head downstairs and watch TV for a little while and then head upstairs to go to bed.
