Epilogue
The wind was gently blowing though her lose black, silky hair as she stood looking down at her ninja mask emotionless. Her usual ninja outfit remaining still besides the belt. The garden of the Emperors palace looking immaculess as ever. Now at the age of 25, it had been 9 years since the wedding and allot had happened. Her husband was away with work again. And a small smile started to tug at her face.
She ducked calmly as something flew over her head and into the bushes that was in front of her.
"That was good" she giggled
"no it wasn't!" a small boy proclaimed as he came out of the bushes in a sulk "I flew right over you" he added
"Yes but it was a good leap and you didn't hurt yourself in the land and I'm sure if you didn't giggle before leaping with a goofy laugh on your face you would have hit" she added in a happy and positive tone as she crouched down and patted him on the head. "you'll get there someday"
"mum!" came a younger whinny voice as a little girl with big grey eyes and long black hair approached her mother "Fu stole my doll"
"I didn't steal her I ninja'd her away"
"that's stealing"
"no it isn't its training"
"stealing"
"training"
"stealing"
"training"
"stop" Lan Fan added. Both of them looking up at her As she started to speak in a calm and reassuring voice "As a prince you must be mature and gentlemanly, As a prince's you must be strong willed and charming. As a ninja you must but respectful, quite and forgiving. As 8 year olds you need to be lively and full of imagination. But as twin sibling you need to learn to get along and listen to each other Otherwise you won't excel in anything"
"Where has Farther gone?" the son added, clearly sad and still missing him after a moment of silence.
"you dad has gone to get a new wife" She added "to keep peace in the kingdom"
"Change of plans" Came a loud voice, making them all turn around to see Ling standing in the doorway to the palace.
"Dad!" the children cheered as they ran towards him and hugged him
"How's my little ninjas" he added with his goofy smile
"Great" Fu added
"I told you I don't want to be a ninja" His sister protested
"Alright Gretel, my little Automail technician" he laughed as he picked her up and span her around.
"why are you home" Lan Fan responded in a flat voice. Even though they were now married, She was still his loyal servant
"I'm not ready for another wife yet" he added putting down his daughter, all three staring at Lan Fan
"you've been saying that for years"
"And it still remains true"
she gave his a strong and angry glair into his eyes.
"Fine, I had to leave because of all the trouble in the Hao clan. I need a skilled assassin to come along"
"so you'd admitting I'm a skilled assassin?"
"Yes" his voice soft and warm.
Lan Fan looked down at her mask in her Automail hand and back up at Ling before walking over to her children.
"you'd going to have to stay In uncle Len and Auntie Ran lee's care ok." She added as she bent down, taking a necklace from around her neck – The Yin half the necklace Ling gave her all those years ago, tied together where it was broken on the day of their wedding by the blade.
"take this and keep strong" she said as she passed it to her Son
Ling taking his off and passing it to their daughter "You have this, keep it with you always" Passing her the yang half.
Lan Fan looked at them and gave a weak smile. As always any mission could be her last. And she knew this. She'd always known this. But now she was more aware of it, especially since she couldn't practice as often as she used to because she was raising and training the children when they weren't being taught to be rulers. But she was still Ling's main and most loyal body guard this.
After standing up she put on her mask.
"Let's go"
