Naruisawesome and 14AmyChan: Where did you come from?! o_o

Everyone needed to keep talking; she couldn't let silence fill the room. Kazuki's connection grew stronger every time he heard someone speak, so he must be able to hear them all!

"All of you need to start talking to Kazuki right now," the girl stated suddenly. She felt her brother's tug waver when her order was not followed. Irritation spiked within the five year old. "Start talking now!"

"Yuzuki..." Mai slightly chided at her daughter's bluntness. She wondered what had gotten the child so riled up all of a sudden. "Now, what are you talking abo—"

"Not to me! Talk to Kazuki!" the girl demanded, completely side sweeping her mother's query of concern. Her eyes were now screwed shut in concentration. "Do it!"

Questioningly, Mai looked at her husband with concern that he knew was suppose to be for their daughter. He knew that Yuzuki wouldn't have demanded it so fiercely if there wasn't a reason for it. She must know something that she wasn't willing to share. So, trusting his little girl, he gave a nod at his wife telling her to go ahead.

"Kazuki... sweetie can you hear me?" she asked tentatively. One eye she kept on her son, the other on her daughter. The small girl glared at her when she did not continue.

The mother of the twins gave a small, sheepish smile at Yuzuki before looking back at Kazuki. What was she suppose to be saying exactly? Her daughter didn't give any specific instructions.

"Well, your sister's pretty adamant about us saying something, though I don't know what she wants us to say," Mai stated bluntly, deciding that if she had no script, it was better to just ramble. "And you know your sister when she gets an idea in her head that she wants to test."

"Keep talking!" Yuzuki hissed quietly as she felt Kazuki's psychic connection grow stronger than it had been since she got to the hospital. It seemed her brother responded the best with their mother's voice, not that she could argue with that. Mommy's voice was warm, soothing, and...and just special. "He likes hearing Mommy's voice..."

"Well, I would think he likes hearing the voices of those who care for him," Mai mused, talking now to Yuzuki. "Whether it's my voice, your daddy's voice, your voice, or the voice of anyone here. I think he knows that all of us care for him, and we know that he cares for all of us. He does his best to tease and protect you especially, Yuzuki, because it's what siblings do. Your daddy used to tell me that about siblings."

Mai stopped for only a moment before turning to her son and continuing. "Kazuki will wake up, we all have faith that he will. He wouldn't leave us all behind, knowing we all love and care for him. Kazuki will wake up, and hopefully soon..."

Yuzuki silently let out a huff when her mother didn't get what she was trying to say. Of course what she said was true, but her voice was more special than the others—maybe more than Daddy's. Didn't she get that? Although her daddy always said her mother was slow...

Instead of replying to Mai, Yuzuki turned her attention back on to her brother. Kazuki... Kazuki, can you hear me yet?

...where... a faint thought could be heard. ...you... where...

Kazuki?! the girl questioned in anticipation. She moved closer to him and scrutinized his face, trying to look for any signs that he might be waking up.

...ki...where...mmy...can't... his voice in her head was slurred and tired, but somehow determined. It kept fading in and out, but the girl noticed that it was getting stronger with each worked he managed to get across. And half-word.

Mommy...? Is that what you're trying to say? Mommy and Daddy are right here along with everyone else! she told him assuredly.

...ing... mmy crying? his voice became stronger in her mind. Yuzuki held his hand tightly as she answered him aloud.

"No, Mommy's not crying anymore right now." she said, ignoring the looks everyone started giving her.

"Yuzuki, is Kazuki...?" Mai's question hung in the air, and it was obvious the girl was getting a better response now.

"He's talking to me..." Yuzuki replied without sparing her a glance, instead she kept her eyes on her brother. "The connection is...weak, but it's getting a stronger each time he speaks."

"Kazuki's talking?" Amaya asked from the boy's other side. She and everyone else in the room cast their worried eyes on the boy. "Kazuki, are you waking up now?"

I...ing...to... Yuzuki heard her brother try to say. She briefly glanced at Amaya wondering if Kazuki had also contacted her. But from the anxious expression she was wearing, Yuzuki knew that it wasn't true.

"Kazuki? Is he gonna wake up, Yui?" Souta asked, his eyes wide with surprise and barely restrained anticipation,

"I think he said he's trying to..." the female twin stated, too preoccupied to notice what he had called her. Yuzuki gave her father a glance. He had been quiet since she got there.

"Daddy, why aren't you saying anything?" she asked.

Snapping out of his thoughts, Naru lifted his gaze and looked at his daughter, whose eyes were large with slight worry.

"Kazuki will wake up, Yuzuki," the man assured, as though he had some sort of secret method to know this to be true.

Yuzuki gave a small smile to her father and nodded before focusing her attention back on Kazuki. Her daddy had to be right about this; he was always right about everything. He was awesome like that.

Kazuki... Daddy says you're gonna wake up, so you gotta wake up even more now, the girl thought, barely aware that she had muttered it aloud as well.

Da...ddy? Kazuki asked. Yuzuki almost smiled at hearing his voice becoming stronger.

"Yes, daddy said so," the girl announced slightly louder as she sent the thought to her brother. His pinky finger twitched in his sister's hand.

And everyone saw it.

Jun gasped slightly dramatic. "Kazi-kuuuuuuun!"

"Kazuki, can you do that again?" Amaya asked, her eyes alight with hope. It was a hope that Yuzuki shared.

"Mommy, daddy, start talking!" she ordered curtly as she held onto her brother's hand. "He's gonna wake up if you guys keep talking!"

Mai suddenly grabbed Naru's hand and gave it a tight squeeze as she stared at her children with hope shining brightly in her eyes.

"Kazuki, Kazuki sweetie, it's mommy," the woman said as she reached her other hand to her son's face. "Can you open your eyes for me? Kazuki, can you please wake up?"

Mom...my! the little boy cried out in happiness, causing his mother to let out a small gasp.

"We're here, baby, we're all here," she said swiftly, her thumb running over her son's cheek. As long as she was in contact with him, she could hear him.

"I told you he was waking up." Yuzuki said smugly, as if she had no doubt about it.

"Yes, you did, Yuzuki," Mai relented, offering her daughter a proud smile. "You knew it like your father knows anything written down."

Yuzuki gave a nod in agreement. "Daddy does know anything and everything." she said, not knowing or really not just caring that she was boosting her father's ego. Hearing her words, Naru couldn't help but smirk.

Mai rolled her eyes, knowing that she would have to deal with Naru's remarks later, and returned her gaze to her son. She smiled as she looked on his face, remembering that he was conscious enough now to send her messages.

"Kazuki, it's time to wake up," she said. "Everyone's waiting for you, you know."

I'll...try... She heard him say almost tiredly.

"Kazuki, your sister is worried about you," she told him. Though the younger twin by only minutes, he was extremely protective when it came to his sister, despite the teasing. "It's time to open your eyes and show her that you're okay."

This time Yuzuki, who was still holding on to his hand, felt Kazuki's whole hand twitch at his mother's words.

"His whole hand moved!" Yuzuki blurted. The children around Kazuki's bed instantly warmed to those words. Almost everyone was staring at the boy's hand, willing it to move again.

Only one person saw the boy's cinnamon eyes open.

"I believe everyone is looking at the wrong place." Naru's voice softly said after he silently gave a sigh. Relief flooded every inch of him at the sight of his son's eyes that were identical to his wife's. He let a small smile cross his lips as he continued to stare at Kazuki.

The boy smiled weakly in reply to his father as his mother whirled her head in order to see her son. Seeing him smile at his father, seeing him happy and healthy. It was quite understandable why a few tears of relief dripped down her face.

"Kazuki, you woke up," she breathed as she leaned over to kiss his forehead.

"Kazuki!" all of the children exclaimed happily, aside from a 'Kazi-kun!' which was from Jun. Yuzuki allowed a smile to form on her face.

"It's about time." she said.

You're so stubborn, the boy thought as he flipped his hand over. He gave his sister's a light squeeze just to let her know. He was going to be okay.

"Kazuuuuuuki!" Amaya wailed, sniffling. Tears began to form in her eyes from relief.

"You had us all really worried!" Souta added from the bedside, only to be shoved aside by Jun.
"Ah~! My Kazi-kun! How I missed you!" the boy said dramatically, instantly reverting back to his old self when everyone knew Kazuki was going to be just fine now. "Don't never ever do that again! You can't ever leave meeee!"

The boy in the hospital bed seemed unsure whether or not to smile and tell his friend that he would be okay now, or be creeped out as he usually was. He settled for an uneasy smile for his friend.

"It's good to see you awake again, Kazuki-kun," Masako said warmly, the first time any of the adults had spoken since they had entered the room.
Everyone gave a nod in agreement.

"As Souta said, Kazuki, you had everyone very frightened...especially your parents and sister." Lin commented from behind his wife.

The child looked down at his covers. He did not mean to make them all so scared, he was just trying to protect his friends.

"But you're awake now," Ayako intervened, catching hi off-guard. He looked up towards his aunt's reassuring face. "Now that you've woken up, your recovery is pretty much guaranteed."

Since he was still weak, Kazuki just gave a small smile at his aunt and then at his family.

"Souta-kun..." Amaya suddenly nudged the Lin boy with her elbow.

Not realizing why the girl was bothering with him when everyone seemed focused on Kazuki, he simply turned his head and 'hm'ed inquisitively.

"I think you should bring Jiyu here right now." Amaya gave a nod of encouragement of her words.

Souta glanced at Amaya, debating for a moment, weighing his options. For some reason, Amaya thought it was a good idea to let the ghost that had almost killed Kazuki and all of them out in the middle of a hospital room where Kazuki's parents might panic or attack the ghost for putting their son in this condition. The boy wondered if keeping Jiyu away a little while longer would keep him safe or if he should trust his friend who had been conscious the entire time their parents had rescued them.

He took a slight leap of faith and called Jiyu out.

Amaya's eyes sparkled as he did. She looked at Souta, then Kazuki, and then everyone else in the room. She was happy that Jiyu would finally get to apologize to the twins—just like he wanted.

The shiki hovered around Souta, obviously nervous. The beeping of the machinery and all of the people frightened him. As did the narrowing of the tall Chinese man's eyes. He turned to Amaya, who was smiling at him. Souta seemed to be supporting him as well, though Jiyu had no idea what he was supposed to do.

The Yasuhara girl, sensing Jiyu's wary appearance and seeing the looks he got from the others, stood in front of him with a smile. "Don't worry, Jiyu...it's okay. This is your chance to apologize." she said the last part a bit lower so only he could hear it.

"Would..." he started to ask, glancing around. "Would it be okay? Will they even accept it?"

"I'm sure they will if you explain..." Amaya gave a nod. "Well...maybe not Uncle Naru and Uncle Lin but hopefully!" the girl added after she thought about it. She still kept her optimistic attitude though.

Jiyu shrunk a little when he noted the two cold men, but the girl's positive attitude did help him. He gathered his courage and tried to float closer to the twins, both of which had noticed his presence by now.

"Hey! You're—" Yuzuki cut herself off and looked sharply at Souta. "Souta, what did you do?!"

The boy folded his arms in front of him. "I made a contract, and his name is Jiyu!" the boy defended his decision as well as his new shiki.

Yuzuki pressed her lips together, almost glaring at the shiki.

"Stop it, Yuzuki! Don't be mean to him!" Amaya cried out.

"I can't believe you're defending it!" the girl shouted at her friends, her hand tightening over her brother's and her eyes narrowing dangerously. "It's because of that that Kazuki was dead for a few minutes! Do you hear me?! His heart wasn't beating anymore! So, no! I won't be nice to him!"

The whole room fell completely silent after her outburst. Jiyu's eyes shifted to the ground while Amaya clenched her fists also with tears forming in her eyes.

"Yuzuki..." Mai softly chided her daughter after a while. Her voice was strained, trying to fight back her tears also at the mention of almost losing her son again.

The girl just turned her face away from the shiki, her anger palpable. She would not listen to anything right now, not even her own mother.

"Get it out of here," she said quietly. Everyone knew she was angry, but a few people picked up on the hurt that was lying right beneath the anger. The girl was only thinking of how she could not have protected her brother from the thing that Amaya and Souta now called a friend. It sickened her and she wanted it out.
