"Gryphon, come here boy!" Kryhs called, trying to get Gryphon to give back her hairbrush which he appeared to find very amusing. Toby walked in with Gabe and a few bits and bobs from the shops.
"Still chasing the dog?" Toby grinned, stepping over Gryphon who was now attacking the hairbrush and growling at it, to put one hand on Kryhs' waist and kissing her softly.
"Yeah, I've been chasing him since you left," Kryhs mumbled against his lips.
"I can see that," Toby raised his eyebrows and turned around to Gryphon who was now running the hairbrush into the wall.
"What the hell is your dog doing, Toby?" Gabe frowned, scratcing the back of his head.
"Why do you always assume I know half the things that Gryph does?" Toby laughed, beginning to pack away the shopping.
"Cos you're both connected," Gabe nodded slowly, helping Toby.
"OH MY GOD!" Kryhs yelped, making Gryphon, Toby and Gabe to leap around 3 feet into the air. "Sorry, guys, I just hit 5 million subs on YouTube!"
"Congratu-bloody-lations but I think I just wet myself," Gabe grumbled, feeling his heartbeat return to normal as Toby picked up Kryhs and spun her around. "Um, guys, you see how there's a shade everytime there's a light?"
"Gabe I don't think that's the exact phrase, but yeah," Kryhs smiled.
"Yeah whatever, um, Jenna's at the door," Gabe winced.
"QUICK, TURN OFF ALL THE LIGHT'S WE'RE NOT IN!" Toby said frantically.
"Toby, there are no lights on, it's one o'clock in the afternoon," Gabe rolled his eyes before bashing his head agaist the marble kitchen counter.
"Well you can't just leave her standing at the door," Kryhs hissed.
"Yes, yes we can," Toby corrected her. "I just found out that your ex and my ex were always secretly seeing each other behind our backs and what am I supposed to do, just sit there and allow that to happen? Cos I don't know if you can tell but I'm not too hapy about that news!"
"Well that's evident," Gabe yawned. "Look, I'll just go and answer it and say that you're not here. Easy."
"Why would you be in the house without either one of us?" Kryhs asked curiously, scrunching up her nose in an extremely cute manner.
"Jenna has got the IQ of a clam. I don't think she'll look that deeply into it for some reason," Gabe answered straight away.
"Fair enough," Kryhs clicked. "Alright, do it." Gabe went to answer the door and took a deep breathe before answering it. Jenna stood leaning against the doorframe, looking really bored.
"Hi," she muttered.
"Afternoon," Gabe said politely. 4 seconds of awkward silence passed. "Can I help you?"
"Is Kryhs in?"
"No they're - hang on you want Kryhs?" Gabe spluttered. Toby put both hands together and mouthed 'thank you' to the ceiling as Kryhs silently groaned.
"No I don't. I just wanted to see your reaction," Jenna laughed that irritating laugh she found so cute. Kryhs mouthed 'HA' to Toby as he silently wept. "I just wanted you to tell Toby that I want custody over Gryphon."
"YOU WHAT?!" Gabe, Kryhs and Toby all shouted, as Kryhs and Toby ran to the door.
"It's only fair, I was there when we chose him. He was OUR dog!" Jenna exclaimed.
"You don't even LIKE dogs!" Toby shouted.
"Jenna you will not get custody over Gryphon, over my dead body," Kryhs shook her head quickly.
"I'm not here to argue about it. I will put up a fight, Toby George Turner," Jenna growled. "And I will win." Then she dramatically turned around and flounced out of the apartment. Gabe, Kryhs and Toby were left staring at each other in silence - until Gabe broke it.
"I thought your middle name is Joe?" he blinked.
"It is," Toby sighed heavily. "It really is."
