(Ok, so now we finally find out who these dangerous cats are that are chasing out furry friends. Guess what type of cats these are and I will put up the chapter everyone's been pming me for, the Fight between Whitethunder and Whitemoon.
Hint: It is illegal to trade their fur.)
"Sakura, it me, Jayfeather." Sakura yowled in surprise, jumping three feet in the air. Ocean gave her a weird look before shaking his head and continuing to eat his mole. Sakura gave a shaky look at her squirrel before looking over at the blurry figure beside her. He didn't look as blurry as he last time. She could actually make out his blue eyes now, which were too light for her liking. 'Blind cat indeed,' she thought. Well that didn't matter, her friend was back!
Sakura excused herself from her group and trotted away to "make dirt". "How have you been? Anything new with your clans? Tell me!"
"Will you calm down?! Such a kit!"
Sakura have him a incredulous look. "I am NOT a kit!"
"Well you act like it," Jayfeather murmured. He shook his head and gave her a serious, hard look, which she could recognize now because she could finally see his eyes. "You and your patrol need to leave this area, now." Sakura tensed. Now? Why? Jayfeather turned and looked around, the fuzzy ears on his head perked and alert. "A group of large cats are coming your way, and you are are apparently in their territory. You need to leave now!"
Sakura snorted and tossed her nose in the air. "We can beat those cats no problem."
"Yea, I doubt even you can beat a pack of cats that almost doubles the number of your size."
Sakura froze. No, she couldn't. She was still recovering from the first cat that doubled her size. Quickly she turned tail and fled to her mother and friends. "How long until they reach us?!"
"I say," Jayfeather's head looked to the sky. The sun was high, but not for long. "Sunset." Sakura growled to herself. She should've know that laying around and relaxing wouldn't do them any good.
"Patrol!"
Jayfeather's yowl made her whip her head around. She saw an outline of four cats running her way, making her quicken her pace. They were right inside these cat's border it seemed. Yowls of "stop!" and "rouge!" was heard behind her as she tore through the trees. Her bursting into the camp caused Luna to jump and turn around hissing.
"Great Skyclan Sakura! You scare me!"
"We have to leave, now!"
"Sakura kit, what's wrong?" Cherry's green eyes searched her daughter worriedly. Sakura nudged her mother's side.
"We are in a someone's territory and we have to leave now! A patrol is coming our way!"
"Hey!"
Sakura jumped, turning just to see four cats coming their way. The lead cat was a sleek tom with dappled brown fur. His nose was pink and his upper cheeks, chin and underside were white, except from the dirt that brushed the tips of his belly fur. His tail lashed from side to side as yellow eyes glared at them. The other cats were either darker or lighter than him. Ocean wrinkled his nose when he took a whiff of them. 'These cats stink!'
"Who are you," the ash golden tom rumbled. His voice seemed to be a little too low for a ordinary cat. They didn't smell like ordinary cats either. That alone made Sakura bristle. Jayfeather hissed beside her.
"They are too big to be regular cats. They smell funny too. Look at his paws. They're too large. His ears are too pointy. Look at their fur! That's no ordinary cat!" Sakura agreed with him. Not an ordinary cat indeed. It looked too much like their larger ancestors.
"We are just leaving. We only stopped to rest," Cherry replied respectfully. The tom looked her over like prey, narrowing his eyes as he growled lowly in the back of his neck. The others behind him respond with either a flick of their ears or a short yip. What was they doing?
"Come on guys, let's go." Ocean mewed, nudging Sakura with his nose, keeping his eyes warily on the four big cats before him. Ravenpaw's fur was bristled, his mismatch eyes wide and his lean muscles tensed. Luna bumped her head against his shoulder and nodded for him to come on. Ravenpaw shot them one last look and bared his fangs before taking off after her. These cats were strong, even he could feel that. They had to get away from the area and fast.
~ooo~
While they were running Jayfeather growled over at Sakura. "They are coming."
Sakura's eyes widened. "To check to see if we are leaving right?"
Jayfeather shook his head and Sakura stopped and turned around. They were well out of the woods now, so the big cats didn't have a reason to chase after them. Sakura could smell them however, and they were close. Her green eyes caught the sight of the bushes shifting and the shadows passing behind the trees. They were following them! Luna padded over to her, blue eyes curious.
"Run."
Luna frowned, cocking her head to the side. Her little sister kept staring at the forest. What for?
"Run."
"Why should we run?"
Sakura turned large fearful eyes towards her. "Run!" Luna flinched and instantly took off running. Cherry, Ocean and Ravenpaw were up ahead when they heard Sakura's yowl. Their eyes widened when they saw the reason. Luna and Sakura were running, and seven far away figures running behind them. They ran, hard and fast. Jayfeather was still at Sakura's side when he glanced back. "They aren't cats Sakura! I knew something was weird about them!"
"We can keep running until we reach someplace to hide our scents! Then we'll loose them," she turned her head to look at him. "Right?"
"Sakura who are you talking to?!" Cherry yowled as she ran beside her, tossing glances back and forward to see the cats behind them. They were getting closer. Jayfeather hissed at Sakura before she could reply to her. "Can you guys climb trees?"
"Of course we can! We wouldn't be cats if we couldn't!"
"Sakura!" Cherry yelled.
"Ok then, climb the trees to get away from them. Then-"
"Run through the trees instead of on the ground! It will hide our scents especially since the trees have flowers in bloom! You're a genius Jayfeather!" She didn't see the male's puzzled look. He definitely didn't think that, and on what planet did cat run through trees? What were they, squirrels?
Sakura yelled back at her party. "Get in the trees and run! They might can climb but I doubt they can catch us! The branches won't support their weight!"
All of them nodded, too focused on running to do anything else. The big cats were only several fox lengths away from them now, and they didn't have any other option. Sakura ran up the first tree she saw, followed by her mother and Luna. Ravenpaw ran next and Ocean ran too, only to be stopped by a heavy paw colliding into his side. His yowl was cut short as the air was snatched away from him. Luna watched in horror as he landed with a sickening thud and stayed there. The big cat that knocked him over prowled towards him, tail flicking dangerously.
Sakura and the others stopped and looked down from the trees. Ocean was in trouble. Sakura swore and looked back. The other big cats were going to catch up any second now. That didn't give them a lot of time to act. Apparently they didn't need any thinking, since Luna took it upon herself to jump out of the tree and land directly on the big cat's back. It threw him off balance, which Luna used to tear and scratch at anything her claws came in contact with. Having no other decision, Sakura joined her, followed by Ravenpaw. Cherry jumped down and quickly ran over to Ocean. The male was still breathing, he was just unconscious. Cherry quickly pawed at his face.
"Ocean wake up! Wake up my son!"
There was a slight stir, so the red cat tried again.
"Ocean please!"
Ocean slowly opened his eyes, groaning as he did. Cherry gave him three brisk licks across his face. "Get up my son, we have to leave now!"
"Wuz goin on.." He mumbled as he sluggishly moved into sitting position. That wouldn't do. A yowl made the tom jump. His light blue eyes zeroed in on his three companions attacking the big cat before him. He tensed, ready to jump in battle, but Cherry butted him with her head.
"Up the tree now! The others are coming!"
Others? Big cats, right. His memory came back to him and he hissed at his self. He had been too slow and got caught, making his family risk their lives to save him. That was a no go. Distant growls made his ears perk. The others. He quickly ran up the tree, the others following after Cherry's commanding yowl. Sakura narrowly missed the claws swung at her hind quarters as the beat up big cat below them gave an angry growl, an actual big and scary growl. No, definitely not ordinary cats. The group of five quickly ran through the trees, leaving the big cats behind them. They ran until it was the dead of night, only stopping when Luna almost fell out of the tree in exhaustion. They made camp, all alert for more unwelcome visitors. Cherry sent her daughter a wary look.
"Who were you talking too?"
Sakura looked away, wishing that Jayfeather was with her at the moment. The fuzzy tom disappeared after they had finally ran away from the big cats. Was this the danger Jayfeather warned her about? Right when they were so close? Sakura looked back at her mother, finding that all of them had their eyes fixed on her. Giving in, Sakura sighed and curled her long fluffy tail around here paws. She then slowly told them everything.
