For the rest of the night Anna refused to leave Elsa's side, not even allowing Kristoff to pull her out of the bed. Unable to coax Anna away, Kristoff also stayed close in case Elsa woke up and went berserk again. Rapunzel continued to check in from time to time in case something happened, but until daybreak everything remained calm.

Anna stirs next to her sister as the sun shines through the window. She puts her arm over her eyes and lets out a half asleep mewl. The quiet giggle from directly next to her pulls her out of her groggy state. Letting her head fall to the side, Anna looks into two huge, blue eyes inches away from hers. Almost nose to nose with Elsa, Anna blinks once or twice as a blush grows on her cheeks.

"Hi", Elsa's voice ignites so many conflicting emotions inside Anna.

Happiness…

Bewilderment…

Fear…

…Excitement.

Anna opens her mouth, but her words fail her as tears form in her eyes.

Elsa stares into Anna's eyes, "Anna.. what's wrong?" Her voice full of concern, of uncertainty, of love.

"Elsa…", she squeaks and throws her arms around her sister, "you're back."

Pulling Anna in weakly, "back?" Elsa threads her fingers into Anna's hair, "where did I go?"

Tears run against Elsa's face as Anna just shakes her head and presses their cheeks together. Nothing could spoil the moment, the events from the night before playing in Anna's head. Watching Elsa go from her sister to whatever she turned into on repeat, her burning blue eyes seared into Anna's mind.

Closing her eyes, Elsa consoles the crying girl wrapped around her, "okay, okay, we'll talk about it lat-"

Anna interrupts her by giving her a peck on the lips. Her brain instantly realizing what she's done, she rears back and plants kisses all over her face. After fifteen more kisses, Anna slams her eyes shut and lays her head back against the pillow, blush taking over her face.

Electricity runs through Elsa, both stunning and shocking her into life. Her body alive and awake, Elsa quivers out her sister's name, "Anna…" She pulls her hand from Anna's hair and places it on her cheek as she says, "what was tha-"

Again, Anna stops Elsa's thought by pulling away and yelping, bringing her own hand up to her cheek. The memory of ice stinging from Elsa's hands.

Retracting her hand, Elsas starts to worry more. She asks more seriously this time, "Anna... what happened?"

Afraid of Elsa falling back into what happened the night before, she keeps her hand on her cheek and shakes her head ever so slightly.

"Anna, please", Elsa starts, "what's going on?"

"She's afraid", Kristoff answers.

Elsa rolls over and glances at Kristoff, still sitting in his chair, then back at Anna. "Kristoff, why do I feel like I don't know everything that happened?", Elsa says, beginning to get alarmed.

Everything is motionless in that second, the scene painted in time for all three of them. When he finally says his piece, he keeps it simple, "she knows, Elsa."

Her exhaustion weighing on her, she slowly moves her hands over her mouth as her eyes dilate. Elsa reaches her hand towards Anna but pulls it back when Anna winces before they even connect. Elsa steadies her breathing, "what did I do?"

"I came in towards the end", he explains, "but you had one hand on her face, the other holding her hand. Your powers were seeping through your fingers and your eyes were glowing."

Squeezing her eyes tight, Elsa listens reluctantly as the story taxes what little strength she has.

The sound of Kristoff getting up doesn't even register to Elsa as she tries to keep her breathing in check. "You kept talking about stopping anyone from getting hurt and releasing, 'the other person'." He rested his hand on Elsa's shoulder, "I think we should be asking you, what's going on? Who or what are you holding in, Elsa?"

After a deep, shaky breath, Elsa admitted, "the last thing I remember is talking with Anna and telling her it wasn't her fault. Then it's just blank, no sounds, no sights, nothing." Her hands clasp into her chest and she continues, "I've been struggling more and more with my powers recently… I've been having hallucinations and dreams where I see myself, but I'm angry… Hateful… Evil." The pain in her chest is so intense its palpable, "I watch myself do terrible, unspeakable things. I watch that other me and her glowing blue eyes destroy things…", her voice got quiet, "people…"

"Me…", Anna spoke up.

Elsa's disgust with herself visible in her eyes as they shoot open, "I hate myself for even having those dreams, but-"

"They aren't dreams, Elsa", Kristoff interjects, "after I got you off Anna, you almost died. We had Rapunzel use magic to stabilize you, but when she healed you, something jumped to her."

Curling her knees into her chest, and covering her eyes with the heels of her hands, Elsa whines, "please… No… They aren't real. Please tell me it's not real."

Kristoff keeps talking, "she saw a blue light, Elsa… She heard a voice whispering in her ear. It told her to hate it, fear it. Then it asked Punz to give it a little push."

Elsa stops breathing. She stops thinking. She just stops…

"I know you're not in a good place right now, Elsa", Kristoff walks back towards his chair, "but you need to know that what you are fighting is very real and very dangerous…"

Anna has remained silent to this point, just watching Elsa slowly break for the third time in less than twenty-four hours. With every crack splintering in her sister's mind, a sliver of her heart ripped apart as well.

Haggard breaths escape Elsa, starting slowly but build rapidly, "no… It's not true. Please tell me I didn't hurt you, Anna…" Desperate stares and debilitating breaths rush from the girl, "say it… Say I didn't use my powers in front of you… ON you…"

Anna looks at Elsa, not able to think of any words to say to console her sister, but instead, her silence speaks more than her words could ever say.

"No", Elsa wails, her eyes clouded with tears, "Anna, I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I love you, you are the only thing I have left. Please don't leave me. I can't take it, I can't lose you too."

Her heart shatters and leaves behind Anna's pure unerring love and protectiveness for her sister. She sweeps Elsa up in her arms and the blonde quiets down for a second, "don't you remember Elsa?" Anna plants a kiss in her sister's hair, "it's my turn to be your hero."

Elsa grabs the front of her shirt, presses her face into Anna's chest, and weeps. She spoke between cries, "I will never let it slip again… I love you… as long as you're here, I'll never let her win out. I will always keep fighting for you."

Anna pets her head and smiles down at her, "I trust you."
