Chapter 21 - Dangers

Author Note – The only characters are the ones I made up. Of course, if I could borrow Derek Hale -Tyler Hoechilin- I would be even more happy but I don't think he would like that much. Or may be he will! Oh well my dreams will have to stay a dream for now onto the before the next chapter. If I mess things up, tell me. Now onward! :D

Note – In my story Beacon Hills is located in Northern California. Between Redding & Eureka. Also in this chapter, I will be guessing Renee's maiden name. It was before she was married to Charlie or Phil.

(~*Scott's Pov – Derek's Bed Room, Loft – Few Minutes After The Attack*~)

Bella was lying on the bed, naked, from where Derek and I checked her over. She had a few bruises but would be fine. I had called Deaton to come over and check her over. Charlie, mom, Stiles dad and the others were all in the living room. Well besides Bree and Seth. From what I can hear, they are in one of the spare rooms talking about what happened. I could even tell that Seth was worried about his mate just as we were. Jasper had already scolded Alice for not contacting us when she first had her vision but had to find out from Deucalion. Deucalion was also in the living room staying close to Charlie. It seemed that his family members were able to keep him calm.

"One of us need to stay with her at all times." Derek spoke up to break the silence. "We cant have this happen again. What if next time she loses the baby?" I could see his green eyes full of pain.

"I agree but we need to speak to Bella about it." I told him stroking Bella's hair. "You know how independent she is."

Derek sighed and nodded. "You're right." He closed his eyes for a few minutes. "Once she wakes up, we'll talk to her." Derek looked at his wrist watch. "Where the hell is Deaton?"

"He'll be here. Don't worry." I tried to calm him down but Derek was to worried about Bella and the baby.

I was about to say something else when a knock came to the bed room door. I smirked and tilted my head that way. Derek hurried and ripped the door open to reveal Deaton standing there with his bag. I knew he would make sure that Bella was alright because he knew a lot about all of this weird stuff.

"About time you got here." Derek snarled letting Deaton into the room. "Need ya to check on her and the baby."

Deaton nodded as he looked from me to Derek then to Bella. "Would you guys..."

"No." Derek and I both said at the same time. "We're staying here." Derek's eyes were almost completely red.

Deaton nodded in understanding. "Alright, just don't get upset when I have to raise her shirt to check the baby." He told us as he came closer. "Now Scott, if you want, you may help but Derek must stay by you."

Derek nodded as he moved around to my side of the bed as I moved my arms out from around her. I just hoped she didn't wake up anytime soon. As I stayed by Bella's side and Derek stood behind me, Deaton got everything ready to check out Bella and the baby. I was just as worried as Derek because we didn't know which one us were the father. As soon as Deaton was done, he walked over and lifted Bella's shirt causing Derek and myself to growl lowly. His eyes snapped to ours but I nodded sending calming vibes through Derek and my bond. I felt his hand on my shoulder, as he squeezed slightly. Deaton smiled as he layed a hand on Bella's rounded belly. He closed his eyes to concentrate as he moved his hands around in small circles. Suddenly, he jerked back as his eyes snapped open and smiled widely.

"You're babies are fine." Deaton said pulling out a portable X ray machine. "This wont hurt them." He said as Derek and I tried to come to terms that we were having twins.

"Scott?" I heard Derek behind me as I felt his hand tighten on my shoulder. "Did the doc just say babies?"

"Yup." I swallowed looking down at Bella's peaceful face. "She's having Twins." I cut my eyes over to Derek, who had a shocked look on his face.

"You didn't know?" Deaton asked as I turned to find him staring at us. "Bella would have known." He frowned looking down.

That's when I heard a quick upbeat in Bella's heart beat. I frowned a moment as I studied my mate for a few minutes. I narrowed my eyes as I locked my gaze on her eye movement. There was NONE!

Our mate is awake yet doesn't want anyone to know. My wolf told me just as I figured it out. I also felt a squeeze on my shoulder, and knew that Derek had also figured it out.

"Would you mind leaving a few minutes?" I asked Deaton, without looking away from Bella's face.

"Yeah, we need ta speak with our mate." Derek rumbled behind me. "She thinks she can pretend to sleep, and listen in on the conversation." He moved around just as Bella's eyes snapped open, widely and fixed on both Derek and myself.

Deaton chuckled as he nodded and headed out of the room. Derek and I just sat there as we stared at Bella. Did she really know she was having twins?

(~*Bella's Pov – Loft, Derek's Bed Room – 12:00 PM*~)

How in the hell did they know I was awake? I couldn't help but ask myself as I stared at them.

"Did you know?" Derek ask as he moved over and sat down on the other side of me.

I swallowed and nodded. "I just found out not to long ago." I dropped my eyes. "I think about a few days after I found out I was pregnant."

How would they feel about twins? Would they love me still? I didn't know I whimpered until I felt sandwiched in between Scott and Derek. Their rumbling was a soothing purr that was meant only for me. I leaned into Scott's arms while Derek rubbed my back.

~You're not mad at me?~ I whimpered through our mating bond. ~I was worried that either of you wouldn't want the pups.~

I cringed when I heard a loud angry snarl coming from Derek and Scott. "Why would you think that?" Scott snarled as he jerked my face up that way I could look into his eyes. "Did we ever say we didn't want pups? Or to have a family with you?"

I shook my head as Derek wrapped his arms around me and allowed me to lean into his embrace. "Why would you think that?" he whispered in my ear causing shivers to run through my body. "I have to admit I'm shocked your having twins but I'm also proud that one of 'em is no doubt mine."

"I was afraid." I admitted. "You are both full blooded werewolves, whether bitten or born. While I'm a werepire only because of an accident." There were tears coming down my face hard this time and I made no move to stop them.

"Oh baby." I heard both Derek and Scott coo at me. "We both love you no matter what." Scott said as he licked my cheeks, wiping the tears away in his own way.

"You having our pups is even more special." Derek nuzzled my neck as he placed a hand on my stomach at the same time as Scott. "I never thought I would be a father but you've given not only myself the chance but Scott too." He kissed his mark causing me to shiver.

Scott tilted his head to the side and sighed. "Come on, you need to feed." He pulled me to my feet, which I could barely see my toes as of now. "I don't want you to attack anyone when they get here. In fact your dad and Stiles are suppose to show up shortly. Derek and I have a surprise for you." he smirked as him and Derek walked me out the door, down the hall and into the kitchen where Derek sat with me while Scott prepared my 'meal'. Before he even set my 'food' in front of me, the door opened and I smelled the most appetizing smell. Before I could even more, Derek had his arms wrapped around me while Scott poured the blood down my throat. As soon as the red haze was removed from my vision, I realized I almost attacked my own father. I whimpered as I held onto Derek as Stilinski, my father and Chris walked in.

"What's goin' on?" Charlie asked his eyes locked on me as I turned my eyes away.

"You were almost her lunch." Scott said as he slide the plate of food in front of me.

With me being part vampire part werewolf, I also needed solid foods along with blood. Although I didn't need to eat solid foods to often. That's when I caught the scent of who it was I was going to attack. My eyes snapped to Chris as he stared at me. I could see him twitch which meant my eyes were darkening. He was the one I scented and wanted to bite.

"It wasn't my father." I said looking away, closing my eyes. "It was Allison's father I scented." I took a bite then spit it out. "More blood, no food." I whispered pushing the plate away.

Derek shrugged as he grabbed the plate and started to finish what I started as Scott grabbed some more blood bags from the refrigerator. Deaton walked in as Chris, Stilinski and Charlie were standing there. He looked from me to Chris. His eyes narrowed before he turned and headed into the living room. I could hear him moving around which surprised me when he returned with some garlic. I couldn't help but wrinkle my nose at the smell. It covered Chris's scent which cooled my thirst.

"I do believe that Chris is Bella's singer." Deaton handed the clove of garlic to Chris. "Hold on to this until you are out of her smelling range. It doesn't smell good to her and will help mask your scent. If you would also eat garlic, it would help."

Chris frowned but took it and placed it in his pocket as his eyes turned to me. "So ya wanna take a bite?" His eyes narrowed as Scott and Derek growled. "I heard about werepire's having singers like vampires but I never thought it would be me. Just try and keep a cool head. I would hate to have to put you do for taking a human life."

While Scott and Derek growled along with Charlie, which surprised me, I growled louder as my eyes flashed. "Enough." I hissed glancing from the three of them. "Chris has a right. You all know how Edward fought with himself for my blood." I called into the living room where I knew the rest of the Cullens were. "I think I did rather well since Rose tried to take out Stiles and I just tensed."

Alice, Jasper, Emmett, Rosalie, Seth and Bree appeared. "She did do well." Alice chimed in. "I always knew that Bella would be rather remarkable and keeping the garlic with you will definitely keep Bella away."

"So what do we do now?" Seth popped up with his arms around Bree. "Peter wants Bree back but I wont allow her to go." He growled low and Bree shivered as she leaned into his embrace.

Alice went into a vision as we all waited til she came out of it. "From what I see, we need to lure them here." She blinked a couple of times as she cut her eyes to me. "You wont be there. I can't see anything if your involved."

"Maybe I'm there but under my shield." I supplied knowing that Alice couldn't see anything I shielded. "I wont allow my mates to go without me. I couldn't handle the thought of one of them getting hurt when I could protect them."

I heard Derek and Scott growl but I growled right back. I wasn't one of their betas they could order around. "We'll discuss this later." Derek nipped my ear as I felt his arms tighten around me and lay directly on my stomach. "Right now, I want someone to go spy on Peter." His eyes went to Bree. "Do you think you and your mate can go? You could always hide his scent."

"I don't know how to hide anyone else other then myself!" She gasped wide eyed.

"You've done it subconsciously." I added looking at her. "In the fight with Seth and the werepire, you hid his scent from the werepire which caused the werepire to rely on only his sight." Everyone's eyes widen in shock, except for Alice and Jasper. I kinda figured they already knew what happened.

"I want Bree to have full control over her gift before we go." Seth snarled, not wanting his mate in danger. "She wont take an unnecessary risk."

I nodded looking at Jasper. "I know you may not like this but would you train Bree." I could see the shock on his face. "Out of everyone here, I would trust you with her then one of the others. You know how to fight and what needs to be done."

"Alrigh'." He answered with a tip of his head. "But I ain't gonna make it easy." Jasper locked eyes with Bree. "Ya think ya can do it?"

Bree nodded standing up straighter. "Yes, sir." She nodded her head. "As soon as your ready, Seth and I are ready." She smiled holding onto Seth.

"Ya goin' with us?" He raised a brow at Seth. "I ain't gonna be easier on 'er."

Seth bit back a growl at the thought of Jasper training Bree. "Yes because I don't want you to be to hard on her." He told Jasper in a low tone. "Even though I know you wont hurt her, I still cant have her alone with a vampire. My wolf wont let me."

"I understand." Jasper said as he looked at Alice and his expression softened, then looked back to Seth. "But just rememba' she needs ta learn this in orda' ta save ya when yer around da enemy. I don't want yer sista' comin' afta' me, eitha'."

Seth smirked as he looked down at Bree, who would have blushed if she could have. "Even though Bree's my mate, I'm not going to let her slack." He looked back up at Jasper. "I know she needs to learn and I don't think I can take on all of them without the rest of you."

I zoned out about the the way Jasper and Seth would teach Bree. Derek was rubbing my back as I heard Scott's low growl that soothed me. I leaned into Derek's arms as I felt the peace and warmth spread through me. I didn't realize I had closed my eyes to I snapped them open when Derek shifted and swung me into his arms.

"Where are we going?" I asked in a hushed tone. I could even hear the sleepiness in my voice.

"You need to rest." Derek said as he brushed a kiss across my forehead. "Scott's going to be a little bit. Why don't you and I speak? There are things we need to get out of the way."

I frowned as I was suddenly rather confused. "Ok." I couldn't help but whimper. "Did I do something wrong?"

"No sweet heart." Derek chuckled as he held onto me tighter and kissed my cheek. "I know how I am but I want to warn you. Scott will understand how I am but there is somethings I've kept from you until I was sure you were serious about me."

I could only frown feeling rather hurt. "Why would you think that?" I asked nuzzling him under his chin.

"Because so many have been there 'for' me yet haven't been there for me." Derek said as he layed me on the bed, after shutting the door with his foot, as we entered. "Now where should I start?" he frowned looking off in the distance as he sat beside me with his arms wrapped around me.

(~*3rd Person Pov – Seattle, Washington – 1:00 PM*~)

Riley had become worried that Kelli hadn't made it back yet. He could still feel his mating pull which kept his hope alive that she was still alive. Riley didn't know what would happen if he lost her but he knew he would try to take out the werewolf that became their leader. Riley snorted as he crossed his arms, standing just outside the barn where the newborns were turning. He was glad that a small sip of werewolf blood, he was able to standin in the sun for a short period of time. The only down side was to learn to control the flow of your venom. It was extremely hard and only a few had been able to master the skill so far, him being one of the few. When the pull in his chest became suddenly rather none existent, he knew that Kelli had made it back but he could only smell her scent. Heading into the woods in front of him slightly, he caught her scent then caught her as she dropped on him from one of the branches. He sat her down and kissed her cheek. Then saw a mark that hadn't been there before.

"Report." He growled his eyes going black.

"It's ok." Kelli purred as she kissed him under the chin. "The major of the south was with them but I was able to get away." She smirked moving back when she felt someone else coming. "It appears that one of the wolves has found a mate in young Bree." She smirked seeing Peter come through the trees.

Riley straightened slightly, unnoticed by Peter since his eyes were on Kelli. "Good work." He turned his eyes to Riley. "Where's the other?"

"Dead." Kelli said as she darted her eyes to Riley. "He tried to attack to get Bree but he wasn't able to get past the one I believe to be her mate." Her hands were behind her back, thankfully, Peter couldn't see they were twitching because she could feel that something was wrong.

"Then it looks as though you have failed once again." Peter turned his eyes to Riley. "What did I say the last time one of your spies failed?" He tilted his head to the side but also kept his eye on Kelli.

"That I would pay," He gritted his teeth. "With my life."

Kelli's eyes widen in horror. "But sir, I came back."

Peter chuckled turning to Kelli. "I know." He tilted his head to the right. "But the other one didn't come back and I trained you thus you are one of my spies. Not one of Riley's."

With that Peter turned and snarled at Riley. Kelli looked at her mate's face and saw him looking towards the woods. She knew what he wanted her to do but she wouldn't dare leave him alone. Shaking her head, she looked at the werewolf in front of her. She was thankful that Victoria had changed her before he had come along because of the fact she hated the bitch to begin with. Riley could see the hatred in his mates face which caused him to ignore the fact his life was about to end. With him distracted Peter was able to get behind him, wrap one hand around his neck while the other grabbed the top of his head. Peter jerked hard and watched in delight as the vampire in front of him lost complete control. He chuckled as he dropped both body and head.

"Did you really think I didn't know you were mates?" Peter taunted the girl. "I knew the instant I saw you. Werewolves do know a lot about mates." He licked his lips up and down. "Do you want to know a secret? The worst thing for someone to do is force another's mate into submission, would you like to see how it feels?"

Kelli's eyes widen as she darted into the woods, praying she reached the others and they destroyed her before she was caught by the creature that was chasing her. She whimpered every now and then as she thought back to Riley. Her fear and hollowness was eating her alive but she would rather die by the fire then by the hands of that monster.

(~*3rd Person Pov – In The Forest – 1:20 PM)

Deucalion and Ethan were out scouting since he skipped one of his classes. They had been running through the woods when they suddenly heard a loud scream coming from somewhere close to them. Looking at each other, the took off in a changed form, heading to the area where the scream came from. What they found, however, wasn't what they had planned. Letting a howl come from his lips, Deucalion announced that Peter was here for a moment. As soon as the returned howls were heard, Ethan rushed the beta and knocked him off the young vampire he had underneath him. Peter looked at the two in front of him and snarled. He knew he couldn't defeat Deucalion or Ethan as a beta which meant he needed to head back and work on his army. Turning, Peter rushed away as fast as his legs could carry him. Deucalion was about to take off after Peter when the vampires, shifters and werepire showed along with Scott and Derek.

"What happened?" Bella asked moving towards the vampire on the ground.

The vampire jumped up and hissed seeing Jasper standing there in front of Alice. "Stay away." She snapped baring her teeth. "Unless you kill me."

"Why?" Bella couldn't understand as she went to move towards the vampire Jasper's hissed words stopped her.

"She's one that came after Bree." His eyes were pitch black in anger.

Seth snarled as he pushed Bree behind him. Scott and Derek moved to Bella, pushing her behind them as they stared at the vampire in front of them. "Why should we kill you?" Scott was the one that asked again. "Other then the fact you tried to take Bree yet since Peter was after you, that could only mean you were tossed out."

"He..." Kelli finally lost her bravado and feel her to her knees letting her emotions flood the empath, knowing what the Major was. "He...killed my...my... mate." She was dry sobbing as she huddled on the ground.

Bella couldn't help but have her heart break. Just thinking of losing one of her mates, caused her animal side to become enraged. Squaring her shoulders, she moved out from around her mates and placed a shield around all of them that way they couldn't move. She knelt in front of the vampire and raised the girls head until she looked in her eyes.

"I will personally take your pain away if you do one thing." Her eyes were hard as she flashed them. "Tell us what Peter has planned, then I will light your pyre."

Author Note – Sorry it's been so long but I kinda have had a busy time with Christmas then my birthday on the 1st. Let's just say I had a great time. Now what do you think about this so far? What do you think of Bella having twins? Didn't see that comin' did ya? Oh just wait til they come out... - insert evil laugh here-...Not that I will give anything away. XD!
