Chapter 21
Disclaimer: I do not own the Vampire Academy world and its character. This is what I would think happen if Rose somehow found her self in amongst Pirates.
"Cap'tin Black Bart first mate turns out to be...my missing brother Jesse." Ivan said the last part in a whisper.
I truly understood his feelings, about four years ago Jesse came up missing no one knew where he had gone or if he was still alive. And now to fine out that he was alive and working for Black Bart was more than either I or Ivan could comprehend. Knowing the outcome was even worse. We both knew that Jesse would have to be killed in order to stop this mess and to keep Roza safe.
"I need to fine Lissa, she knows where Roza is and she will tell me where, because now Roza is in danger." I said as I went to the house.
As I enter into the house I heard a servant talking to Lissa.
"Miss Lissa she is sick, she hasn't ate much and is very pale. I tried to get her to come back here, but she refuse to come." the male servant said, with a worried look on his face.
"Oh my goodness, this is not good. I will..." Lissa stop her words as she saw me entering into the room.
"Captain can I help you?" she ask covering her concern face to hide it from me.
"Yes Lissa I need to talk to you for a moment...alone." I said eying the servant. As the servant left and I close the door, I walk over to where Lissa sat.
"I don't know how much you know about pirates and their vendettas go Lissa, but I can assure you it usually is till they killed the responsible party for the killing of their captain. I was just now informed by Ivan that Tasha has found Black Bart's first mate and has told him of Roza. He had first thought it was a lad, but Tasha told him of the dinner at the Queens palace and now he knows it was Roza and not Marty the boy, who killed his captain. He will now hunt Roza down and kill her. I need to know where she is so me and my crew can protect her." I said as the words soak into Lissa I saw her face morph into horror.
"Dimitri she is at a cabin about 2 hours away from here. And my servant has just informed me she is very sick and not doing to well. I will have the servant show you where she is." Lissa said as the tears started to form in her eyes.
Hearing that Roza was sick made my heart cringed in on it's self.
"Lissa who all knows where this place is?" I ask her.
"Only I and this one servant." she said.
"Call that servant in please." I said as I waited.
The servant enter and look around at us.
"Have you told anybody else where this cabin is?" I ask him.
"No sir I haven't." he said.
"Have you told anybody that Roza is there?" I ask another question.
"No sir Miss Lissa said that no one is to know." he said as he look between us.
"You will take the captain and his men to the cabin tomorrow Joe." Lissa instructed the man.
"Yes Miss." he said.
"Joe I will also need you to stay there to so be ready at the crack of dawn." I told him as I turn back to Lissa.
"Lissa you cannot tell Christian or Tasha anything about this. I will leave some of my men here to protect you in case Jesse comes here for information and the rest with me. Tasha may try to use Christian to get you to tell him where Roza is. You can't do that, you can't tell him no matter how bad you want to." I said knowing that her not telling Christian was going to kill her she kept nothing from him.
"How are we to explain your where abouts when they ask?" Lissa asked.
"I will have my men tell them I have gone further inland looking for sellers of goods for shipping to England. Since that is a normal thing, no one will question it." I said as I turn to the door.
"Please be careful and tell Rose I am sorry and that I love her." Lissa said as she touch my arm.
"I will and as soon as this mess is cleared up I will bring her back." I said as I smiled down at her.
I left the room and gather my men. Ivan had told them what was going on. They were all mad and hype up to what was going to happen. All of them wanting to protect Roza this brought a smile to my face.
"Men I need some of you to stay here and guard Lissa and to kept watch on Tasha and Jesse. If they try to do anything to Lissa you are to kill them and then send word to us. The rest of you will go with me we will setup a defense around Roza and protect her until we can eradicate Jesse and then bring her back here." I said as I look at each one.
"Calico I have been told that Roza is sick and don't know what ale's her so be prepared." I said as I took in his worried expression.
"Aye, Captain I will be ready." he said as he left.
The male servant came into the room with us.
"You will need to bring a small boat, her cabin is on a small inland fresh water lake. She has the only boat and she won't bring it to shore if she see's you all." he said.
"OK we can do that. It will also be easier to guard her on the island so we will set camps around the island." I told the men as they left to pack what they needed. I exited out of the room to go pack when I ran into Tasha.
"Dimka I have been looking all over for you. You have been a stranger to me." she smiled and then pouted as she said this.
"Tasha for the last time I am a married man. I do not want anything to do with you." I said as firmly as I could. All I wanted to do was strangle her for putting Roza in danger.
"But she don't want anything to do with you Dimka. And you are a man with needs...needs that need a woman to fore-fill for you." she coo.
"I do not need you and only my wife will fill my needs." I said as I turn away.
"But Dimka." Tasha whined.
"Tasha let me tell you once again. Even if by some slim chance Roza was to die. I would not be with you. You are not the kind of woman I want in my life. If that is not plain enough then I suggest you go get medical treatment, because there is something dreadfully wrong with you." I said the last part cold and hard so she would get the point.
I heard her huff and could hear her faint steps fading I went to my room and pack a back pack full of clothes and slid under the covers smiling I would see Roza tomorrow. I drifted off to sleep of dreams of my sweet Roza.
I woke before the sun came up, dress then heading down stairs to meet the crew.
Calico was in the kitchen preparing something. That did not smell good. I turn my nose up as I enter the kitchen.
"Good God man what the hell are you fixing? It smells like shit...no worse than shit." I said as I tried my best to get clear of the smell.
"This is for Peanut. If what the servant Joe said is true I believe she has pneumonia and will be in bad shape Captain. You need to prepare yourself sir." Calico look at me with worried eyes.
"But you can help her...save her right?" I ask hoping that he could.
"It depends Captain how long she has had it and in what stages it is in. But I will give it my all, she is strong so that is a plus for our side." he said as he went back to stirring the concoction.
"How much more time will you need Calico?" I ask now in a hurry to get to Roza.
"Just a few more minutes. I will also need all those vegetables and fruits to be loaded to. Along with those two bags there." he said as he pointed to the bags sitting on the floor.
"Consider it done." I said as I grab them and headed towards the door.
Once outside I saw my men saddling up horses and hitching up a wagon for the boat and supplies. I place Calico bags in the wagon and then loaded the fruit and vegetables in the wagon. Waiting for Calico to finish the God awful cure for Roza.
"Men this is going to be a hard and long trip. I do not know how long we will be and then we have Jesse to be concern about to." I said as I look at each one.
"Cap'tin we will set up several camps around the little island and let you and Calico take care of Rose. I assure you no one will be getting through us." Ivan said.
"Aye, Roza is very sick so there is no way we can come back here until she is better. I may need some of you to cut wood and haul water for us. While others may need to go get fruit and different things. But I can assure you all will be well compensated for your troubles." I said as I look out to the last place I saw Roza.
"No need Captain. I do this for her. She would do this or should I say has done this for us." one of the crew members said. As they others said Aye.
Calico came out of the house with a bucket of his evil smelling mixture and put it in the wagon. He then mounted his horse. The servant Joe took the lead as he proceeded towards where Roza was. He carefully detour here and there in case we were being follow. As we travel deeper into Turkey the surroundings change from sandy beach like materials to fertile soil I notice Apricot and peach trees along with grapes. At the end of our three hour trip because of the wagon we enter into a clearing.
In the distance I could see rolling mountain ranges some with snow cover caps. Joe told us that they were dormant volcanoes that is why this valley is so fertile and would grow anything you planted.
Half way across the valley I saw the most beautiful lake I believe I have ever seen. The color of a deep blue sky. I could barely make out a cabin situated in the middle on a large piece of land. The closer we got the faster my heart beat I was so close to Roza I only hope we were here in time to save her. We stop at the edge of the lake and dismounted. I saw Donner in the distance eating grass. Paying us no attention at all.
The men unloaded the boat placing it in the water and loading the supplies, along with my pack.
"I'll need some of you men to row us out there so that you can have a boat to get to us in case something goes wrong. But guard the boat with your life men." I said as I step into the boat and waited for the rest.
Calico, Bailey and I along with Ivan and Ambrose who were rowing the boat headed to the island once we reach the island I jump to land and ran to the cabin. I open the door and what face me, I was not ready for.
