I had many assignments and only now I got some time to update this story before college Finals. I'll try to update every week like it was planned. Thanks for waiting!
By the way, I didn't revise this chapter. Lol.
Chapter 21: Spiral
Ciel woke up on a soft surface. He rubbed his eyes and sat up. It seemed that Sebastian had brought him to the bedroom and changed him into sleepwear. But Sebastian was nowhere to be found.
When Ciel checked the time on the watch on top of the nightstand, he widened his eyes. "Ten in the morning?" he uttered. He was half an hour late for work. On top of that, he hadn't even gotten ready, he hadn't eaten anything, and Sebastian was most likely not ready either.
Ciel jumped out of bed and paced out of the room. "Sebastian," he called out in a meow.
"In here," Sebastian replied from the bathroom.
Frowning and narrowing his eyes, Ciel opened the door and burst into the bathroom. "Why didn't you—?" He stopped abruptly. The bathroom was full of steam, Sebastian lying in the tub and relaxing. "I'm late for work. Why didn't you wake me up?" he asked in disbelief. "What's wrong with you?"
"If you want to work there this badly, get ready, go prepare something for yourself to eat, and get going," Sebastian said, a strange grin on his lips. "I'm not your butler or your driver. You have to start doing things on your own, my kitten."
Ciel gaped at the man for a moment. "W-Where is this coming from?" He wanted to ask his owner why he didn't take care of him, but that could sound demanding.
"You doubted my feelings for you, that's why," Sebastian muttered and sat up under water. "Now, if you don't mind, I want to continue my alone time. It's not everyday that I have the morning off of work."
Unbelievable. Ciel pursed his lips and clenched his hands. "You smelled like a woman was all over you. What did you expect me to think? Besides, I accepted your apology right away."
"But I don't feel like working for you today," Sebastian retorted, leaning back on the tub again, and resting his arms on the edges. His hair dripped with water, his bangs sticking slightly to his forehead. "You could be on your way to work by now. Go on now, little kitten." He waved his hand dismissively.
Sebastian would pay for this. "Fine, but don't cry later," Ciel muttered under his breath and went to get ready in a hurry.
Upon arriving to Undertaker's store, he had to walk through a large crowed. When he got to the office get changed, there was Undertaker, tapping his finger on the desk. "Sorry I'm late. Sebastian didn't..." he trailed off. "I forgot to set up the alarm clock." Now he understood. He couldn't blame Sebastian when it was Ciel's responsibility to get to work on time. He wasn't a kid.
"Sebastian didn't bring you?"
Ciel shook his head. "He told me to get going and I used some of the money you paid me to catch a bus," he answered. Undertaker stood. "Again, sorry if I'm late." As the man got closer to him, Ciel walked backwards. "Are you angry?"
"Of course I am," Undertaker said, but his expression didn't show any kind of emotion. He rested his hands on Ciel's sides and picked him up. "I won't fire you or take away from your pay, but you're definitely going to be punished." He carried Ciel to the desk and laid him on it.
As soon as Undertaker rested his hand on Ciel's thigh, the door opened. Ciel looked over Undertaker and saw Timber at the door. "W-We're not doing anything," Ciel said quickly.
"You're not, but he is," Timber said, his eyes on Undertaker. "What were you going to do just now?"
Undertaker stood straight and turned to Timber. "Nothing, of course."
Ciel slid off of the desk. He stared as Timber charged at Undertaker, his sharp fangs ready to cut through anything. Ciel had never seen Timber this angry. Was he going to attack Undertaker?
