The small connection Travis and I had had, was broken when Connor toppled into the pool.

He'd looked heart-broken, like a lost puppy, his eyes wide and round.

I'd felt sympathetic towards him but also a bit irritated on Lou's behalf.

Travis and Connor had gone home in, and I was at Lou's, now currently slouched on her bed.

I wasn't up to facing Travis just yet.

"So, he called you his friend?" That had got to hurt, especially knowing how much Lou liked him.

She nodded, pushing away her plate of un-touched pizza. We'd ordered it for dinner, but neither of us really had an appetite.

There was a sharp tap on the window, and both of us jerked upright, cutting each other sideway glances.

'Monsters?' mouthed Lou Ellen. I shrugged in response. She tossed me a dagger since all my weapons were back at the house, and crept forward. Sparks igniting on her fingertips.

There was a loud string of curses, before the window popped open and a figure dropped clumsily into the room.

"Connor?" Lou screeched, her look of surprise was quickly turning into anger, and hurt.

"What in Hades are you doing?" He scrambled to his feet. "I…" he broke off, when he saw me.

"Katie? You were at Lou's?" "No, I just came to pay her a visit before I return to the Mental Institute. I'm thinking off admitting you and Travis there."

Connor seemed oblivious to my sarcasm, and looked around the room uncomfortably. "Lou, I have something to tell you."

"Well say it." She snapped, completely remorseless. "I…" "Am an idiot," Lou completed the sentence for him, and he winced.

I sighed and shut the door behind me. Though they were fighting now, it'd only be a few minutes before they started making out.

I closed and locked Lou's front door behind me

"Hey," I looked up, startled out of my thoughts, and sucked in a breath.

There was Travis, leaning lazily against the hood of his car in all his sexy, smug glory. Mouth tipped up in that half-smirk that I'd grown to love so much.

My stomach tingled, remembering our almost kiss.

"What are you doing here?" I sauntered up to him, trying my best to appear indifferent.

His face told me I didn't fool him for a second. In fact it looked like he knew exactly what kind of effect he was having on me.

"I'm here to complete some unfinished business with you."

I snorted, "Please, you didn't even know I was here."

"So," he turned and stood in front of me, so suddenly I was trapped between him and the jeep door. "You're really admitting me and my brother to a mental institute?"

"I might have to," My heart was racing, beating like a bass drum inside my chest so loud I was certain he could hear it. "You're driving me crazy."

He leaned closer, and I had to focus all my willpower on not tackling him to the ground and making out with him right there and then.

He traced a finger teasingly, down the side of my thigh, which was bared by cut-off shorts. His touch addicting and made my skin tingle. I held my breath, waiting for the kiss.

But it never came. He pulled back, grinning rakishly. No, no, no, no. He couldn't do this.

My body acted on impulse, long before my mind could think this over properly.

I lurched forward, crushing my mouth against his. He let out a startled moan, and stumbled slightly, clearly not expecting this.

Wow, I'd managed to surprise a Stoll, that didn't happen often.

His hair, was silk under my hands, and I tugged at it softly causing another soft moan to escape his mouth.

The pit of my stomach sparked with elation, I felt like I was glowing brighter than an exploding star.

He bit my bottom lip tenderly, and circled his arms around me. My own hands slid down to rest on his chest.

The door clicked open behind me, and he pushed me back onto the seat. Okay, so it wasn't the best place for a make-out session, but honestly I couldn't care less.

All I cared about was Travis' hands, warm against my skin as they slid under my clothes.

Feeling daring I tugged at his shirt. He leaned away momentarily to take it off, before once again locking his mouth with mine.

My shirt had come off, and I felt like I was burning. Where his bare skin touched mine electricity sparked, sending pleasurable shivers up and down my spine.

"Travis," I breathed. "Hmm," his head was buried in the crook of my neck. His breath hot against my skin.

"I don't want to stop." My hand slid down to rest on his hip. He sat up and cocked his head to the side, blue eyes sparkling amusedly.

To my dismay he slipped his shirt back on, and looked away.

"I'm not going to take you in a car Gardner, I'm not that low, I have morals."

Humiliation made tears burn at the back of my eyes. I knew enough bad excuses to know when I heard one. "Since when have you ever been a gentleman, Stoll," I spat bitterly.

His eyes narrowed to slits, "What's that supposed to mean?"

He was still straddling my stomach. I tried pushing him off. "Get off me, you idiot."

"Unbelievable," he muttered. "You're pissed off at me because I wouldn't have sex with you in the back of a car."

My cheeks flamed at the way he mentioned sex so easily.

He combed a hand through his hair, which was already mussed enough thanks to me. "Geez Gardner, what kind of guy do you take me for?"

"Okay, okay Mr-I-am-such-a-gentleman. Quit your lamenting."

I perched up onto my elbows. "Now where's my shirt." "I don't think you'll be wearing one."

I groaned, realising he had it balled up in his hands. "Travis give it to me,"

He gave me a troublesome grin. "Nah, I think you look much better without it on."

I held out a hand, "Travis," I warned. He held up his hands in surrender. "Okay, okay,"

He kissed the shirt goodbye and handed it over to me. I giggled, putting it on.

"Katie Gardner," He balanced on one knee, as if he was proposing. I rolled my eyes, "Yes, Stoll?"

"Would you like the honour of being my girl-friend?" I smacked him lightly on the arm. "No thanks. But would you like the privilege of being my boyfriend?"

He paused as if thinking, "Depends, will you still chase after me threatening to make sure I never have children? Because it would be a shame if the human race doesn't have any of my sexy genes left."

"You and your brother look the same," I pointed out drily. "I know, Katie-Kat but I'm smarter."

I snorted, "Yeah, you keep trying to convince yourself of that." He smiled boyishly and I felt my heart flutter.

"Yes," he whispered. I raised a brow. "Yes?" "Yes, I agree to be your boy-friend."

"Well then Stoll, I agree to take you as my boyfriend," I hesitate, seeming uncertain. "But…"

His face falls, and he falters. "But…?" I lean in close, placing my forehead against his. "You have to promise to make me cheese sandwich on a regular basis. And I better be good."
