"That one," Goku whispered in amazement, his jaw slacking slightly as a flame-haired boy stood beside him on his right, arms crossed. On his left, a short-haired blonde stood, a rare, uncharacteristic smile gracing her lips. The unruly-haired boy gulped audibly as his finger pointed to the ring below its glass encasement. "You think she'll like it?"

Eighteen patted Goku's arm encouragingly, her small smile stretching on her face, her cheeks lifting. "I'm sure she'll love it, Son," she nodded, her blue eyes shining with amusement.

"What 'bout you, Vegeta?" Goku turned toward his friend with a hopeful expression. "What do you think?"

"Hn," the boy closed his eyes, nodding slightly. "It's sufficient for your harpy, Kakarot."

Goku smiled brightly at the lady behind the case, nodding.

"Have you decided?" she kindly asked, her purple-shaded lips pursing into a smile.

"Yeah," Goku laughed weakly, pointing to the ring once more. "That one."

"What are you so up and giddy about?" Chi-Chi giggled, resting her head against Goku's shoulder.

"Nothin'!" Goku replied with a grin, lying through his teeth. "I am just glad to have an official date for once, in a long time."

Chi-Chi pecked his cheek with a smile, pulling away. "Well, the movie doesn't start for another twenty minutes, how about you go get some popcorn and drinks? I know the line was long, but I'd really like something to snack on."

His stomach growled, and she laughed.

"I think you would, too," she winked, playfully hitting his shoulder. "Go on! I'll see you soon."

Without needing further instruction, Goku pecked her on the lips before standing, and leaving her alone within the theatre.

Goku busted through the glass doors of Benetti's Pizza Parlor, his football team cheering loudly as he neared their table, and he grinned, despite his heavy panting.

"You alright, Son?" Coach Workmann questioned, patting Goku's shoulder with worry in his eyes. The team automatically hushed, their eyes focusing on their quarterback and team leader.

The unruly haired teen responded with a slight nod before hitting his coach back. "Nah, I'm good," he panted out, waving his hand. "I'm on a date with Chi across the street at the movies, so I gotta make this quick!"

"Alright, spit it out, Kakarot," Vegeta snickered, leaning back in his chair. "Let them all know."

Krillin, Yamcha and Tien all glanced at each other with confused looks, as did the team.

"Well," Goku grinned, standing with his back straightened. "I have decided to propose to Chi-Chi."

The team was silent for a moment before bursting into cheers, fox whistles, and clapping.

Krillin, however, reacted differently. "WHAT?! GOKU! YOU CAN'T GET MARRIED!"

Goku raised his brows at his friend his mouth forming a small 'o'. "Why not?!"

"Because...you're signing your life away, and won't be able to hang out anymore!" the short, bald teen argued, waving his arms frantically.

The tall boy grinned, shrugging. "Nah, we'll be fine. Chi'll let me off the tight leash...sometimes," he added with a wink, causing more snickers from the group of boys. "But...I do need your guys' help. I wanna do this at the graduation."

More fox whistles were emitted from the rowdy team as Goku glanced at a clock on the wall with a yelp.

"But first...I need to get back to Chi-Chi! Vegeta!" he exclaimed, pointing toward his friend. "Explain the plan, and make changes if need be until I come back. See ya!"

And within seconds, the boy was gone.

The team was silent for a few moments before Cabe emitted a low whistle.

"Wow, Cabe the Babe hasn't even gotten to his level!"

The raucous boys threw their heads back and laughed.

Goku walked back into the theatre breathlessly, walking up the lit up steps toward Chi-Chi. Once he was in front of her, he grinned before plopping down into his red cushioned seat, his eyes landing on her confused face.

"Where's the popcorn?"

Aw, crapbaskets! He mentally cursed with a frown, his eyes widening. "The line was super long," he whined, a pout forming on his lips before he leaned down, kissing her.

She pulled away, a slight frown on her face as she looked at him skeptically. "Well, there's still commercials," she nodded toward the large screen. "Why don't you go and grab some snacks now, I'm sure the line isn't long anymore. Besides," she shrugged, leaning back in her seat with a smile, "I'm hungry."

Goku nodded with a grin, placing another kiss on her lips, whispering, "I'll be back."

"Well, well, well," Cabe piped up, a toothy smile on his face. "Back so soon?"

Goku nodded, breathing heavily as he placed his hands behind his head with a grin. "Not for long, I've gotta buy popcorn and soda in a few so I look like I'm actually productive."

"Alright, well," Tien began, taking a quick sip from his plastic Coca-Cola glass. "Vegeta explained the plan to us."

"And," Goku prodded, waving his arms in circle at the group. "Are you guys in?"

"Yeah," Yamcha nodded, before shaking his head. "But a goddamned poster? How are we going to manage that?"

"Uh…" Goku chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. "...someone's gotta have artistic ability, right?"

Murmurs among the boys sprouted up, and after coming to an agreement, they nodded, turning back to Goku.

"I gotcha, Son," Cabe raised his hand, nodding. "We'll start working on it. I mean, shit, us seniors only have two weeks!"

"Don't remind me!" Krillin cried, placing his head in his hands. "There's so little time left!"

Goku's eyes bulged, his face becoming crestfallen. "Speaking of time!" he exclaimed before scrambling toward the door, and back to the theatre.

"You're just in time," Chi-Chi laughed quietly, stealing the carton of popped corn from his hands. She popped a small kernel into her mouth, and hit his shoulder lightly with a small smile. "Good, you put enough butter on it."

"Of course," he whispered, leaning over and grabbing a handful of popcorn from the bucket. He placed a small peck on her cheek before wrapping one arm around her shoulders, pulling her toward him.

Loud, dramatic music emitted from the speakers, and the screen darkened before lighting up with cars zooming past the screen. The sound of revving engines and a raucous crowd resounded throughout the dark room, and excitement filled within the movie crowd.

"I'm glad you like action films," Goku whispered into Chi-Chi's right ear with a laugh, shaking his head.

"Hey, give me some credit here," Chi-Chi smiled, rolling her eyes. "I'm not all that bad."

'Shh's!' erupted from the crowd, irritated onlookers turning around to glare at the couple before looking back at the screen. Chi-Chi and Goku both glanced at each other before stifling their laughter, and ten minutes passed before the unruly-haired boy began squirming in his seat.

"You okay?" Chi-Chi whispered, raising her brows.

"Yeah, I need the bathroom," Goku admitted with a pout, before standing.

Chi-Chi shook her head, before slapping him on the rear, causing him to make a start toward the exit.

"What the hell are you doing back here, Son?!" Coach Workmann questioned the teen, wondering why he was back for a third time. "I thought everything is planned out?"

"It is, all we gotta do is alert the principal" Goku stated, pulling out a chair and sitting beside Tien. "But the temptation of a slice of pepperoni pizza was just too much!"

The team howled with laughter as Goku shoved a slice in his mouth with a cheesy grin.

By the time Goku had returned the movie was thirty minutes in, and a frown carved deeply in Chi-Chi's cheek. Her eye twitched in annoyance and she huffed as he sat beside her.

What the hell is he really doing? The thought echoed across her mind before shaking her head. It doesn't matter, he's here now.

Goku sighed with content, rubbing his cheesy-filled belly while smacking his lips with satisfaction. That was some damn good pizza!

Before he could get comfortable, however, his phone vibrated, and the light shone brightly through his jean pocket. He pulled the phone from its confinement with a frown. Vegeta? he thought with confusion, why the hell is he calling?

Chi-Chi scowled as he stood before hurrying out of the room. She glanced down at her phone, and decided if he was not back in five minutes, she would leave as well.

Vegeta's left hand wrapped around his plastic cup, his fingers spazzing as they clenched and unclenched around it's cool outside. His eyes scanned the team, before landing on his unfinished pizza, drilling holes in its crust.

Damnit, Kakarot! he snapped internally with a scowl, grinding his teeth together. Hurry your slow ass up!

The door jingled, and Vegeta whipped his head toward the source of noise, only to be met with the solemn face of his long-time companion. Vegeta rolled his eyes while standing, the chair scraping the white tiles below before he began walking toward the clown with a deep, disapproving frown.

"I need to leave," Vegeta hissed, punching Goku's chest slightly. "There's something wrong with Bulma, and I have to go meet her."

Goku nodded, biting his lower lip. "I have you covered," he nodded toward the door, slapping Vegeta's shoulder, "go."

The flame-haired teen possessed a stoic face, but his eyes looked distant and he nodded. Without another word, the short male brushed past Goku, and exited the restaurant.

Goku walked over to the team who all stared at him inquisitively. "Where'd he go?" Krillin asked, his face full of worry.

"Eh," Goku waved him off, "just stuff for the engagement." His eyes looked at the clock and he nodded, patting Krillin's shoulder. "Well, I'm out for the night, I'll see you guys Monday!"

Chi-Chi walked down the dimly lit street, through the fog as she rubbed her jacket arms profusely. "So much for summer," she laughed bitterly, shaking her head as a shiver rolled down her spine.

"Hey, Chi! Where are you going?"

His voice made her stop right in her tracks, and she pivoted on her heel, to face him. Her lips pursed angrily as he halted right in front of her, concern interlaced on his facial features.

She shrugged in response, shaking her head with a forced smile and laugh. "I'm leaving."

"Wha..- why?!"

Chi-Chi pressed her lips together before releasing a laugh of disbelief. "You know, I could be asking you the same thing!"

Goku's eyebrows lowered, and his eyes narrowed as his jaw slacked slightly. "I had to take that phone call, it was really important!"

"I understand that," Chi-Chi released an exasperated sigh, "but to leave for a thirty minute call?! Really?!"

He opened his mouth to reply, but Chi-Chi raised a single hand to silence him. "No, I don't want to hear it," she stated tiredly, the bags beneath her eyes becoming more visible, "what the hell are you hiding from me?"

"I…" Goku began, moving his gaze to the pavement below as he racked his brain for the correct words. But there were none. He shook his head, a frown pulling at his lips as he locked eyes with her apologetically. "I can't..." he said quietly, his mouth slightly agape as his eyes drooped slightly. "I can't tell you."

Chi-Chi bit the inside of her cheek, pursing her lips before releasing a scoff. She gave him a slight pout, shrugging her shoulders as her eyebrows raised. "Then I have nothing to say to you, besides one thing: after our graduation, I'm moving again."

His heart stopped beating for a fraction of a second, and blood pounded in his ears. His swampy brown eyes lost their friendly shine, and they became vacant, emotionless. He watched as she turned on her heel once more, and began walking forward again.

"Chi-Chi," he rasped through tightened vocal cords, his heart wrenching inside of his chest. "Wait."

She stopped mid-step and stood motionless for a few moments before turning her head to the side. "What is it, Goku?"

He had lost his voice, and lost all his power to speak. She was moving? Well, not if she said yes to him, but at this point, he was not so sure anymore. Tears brimmed his lower eyelids over this girl for the second time, and he inhaled deeply before whispering, "I'm sorry."

"I'm sorry too."

She rounded the corner, and she was gone.

Hope you guys enjoyed this chapter...only two left!

For those of you questioning my next G/CC...It would be canon based, and it would be set directly after the Cell Games. It's not firmly set or anything yet, I am still trying to make a move to complete other stories before starting new ones.

Anyways, R&R, see you next time!
