To Immortals, Love Lasts Forever

Okay, I officially fail at life. Happy (late) Thanksgiving though. I managed to fall off a pogo stick, and skin the palms of both my hands!!! Isn't my life exciting? Any who, I was bored and thought, 'Well, I have my Pepsi, I have my Fun Dip, and I need to get past the drama I started in TILLF. Better get crackin'.' So that's what I'm going to do. Let's get rocking!!! \m/(.)\m/ (lol)

Chapter 21

Short Recap: She stood in her doorway, leaning against the doorjamb. "Guess I should get this over with…" Chishio walked to Deidara's door, and knocked three times.

She heard soft mumbling, and a short groan. Shuffling could be heard, and a few seconds later, Deidara opened the door, rubbing his eye softly. He yawned. "Yes?" He croaked softly. He had obviously been sleeping.

She bit her lip slightly. "Hi, Deidara. Sorry to bother you, but I need to talk to you." She said shyly.

As if a light clicked on in Deidara's sleep clouded mind, his eyes widened a fraction. "Oh, Chishio-chan…! Uh, come in!" He offered quickly.

He stood to the side, and she walked in calmly. Deidara closed the door, and she sat on his still-warm bed, admiring his beautiful paintings. Then she randomly wondered.

"Hey Deidara, if you think art is fleeting; that it only lasts a moment or two, why do you paint? They're wonderful, of course, but you don't finish one, look at it for a moment, then burn it… It's kind of… a cross-claim against yourself, I guess."

He pondered that for a moment, and then defended himself. "Actually, they aren't eternal either. Before I became a missing nin, I sold them in Iwa, yeah. Some of them are given as presents, too."

"That doesn't mean they go away, though. They still exist." She argued coolly.

He pouted but sat next to her on the bed. She smirked, and teased, "Art arguments: Chishio-1 Deidara-0."

"Shut up, un. you wanted to talk?" He glared lightly, crossing his arms over his chest. Now that she paid attention to him, his long hair had been braided to avoid tangles, and his sexy, muscular chest was bare. His only clothing was a pair of loose gray sweats that were currently riding low on his thin hips.

Apparently he caught her ogling. He uncrossed his arms, and leaned toward her. "What are you staring at, hmm?"

It took her a second, but she snapped out of it. "Just enjoying the scenery." She admitted shamelessly, meeting his cerulean eyes, which were both visible with his hair all tied back and his scope removed.

His left eyebrow rose as he smirked coyly. "Thank you, un."

"Anyway, I'm sorry." She apologized.

"For what, un?" He asked, confused.

"For what I said and did earlier." She reminded him.

"Shit! I thought that was a dream, yeah. I guess not." He grimaced.

"Unfortunately not. But," She added. "I only said that because Leader told me I had to break the ties between myself, you, and Hidan. I really, truly am sorry."

"I forgive you. Hell, I was never mad at you, un. Just frustrated at myself." He admitted. His eyes made a quick wandering glance around the room. "Oh, do you still want your gift?" He said, standing and walking toward his dresser, which was at the other side of the room.

She took the short opportunity while he was walking away to check out his fine ass. As he turned around, she met his eyes. In his arms was the sculpture from earlier. She smiled softly as he walked back and sat beside her.

"This wasn't even made out of explosive clay, yeah. I even molded it without using my hand-mouths, un."

"Wow," She breathed as she admired the workmanship again. She looked into his eyes again. They were like the ocean, captured in rings barely a centimeter in diameter. Meanwhile, he stared into her eyes, which were like melted caramel.

She smiled softly, and set the sculpture on the bedside table. She then proceeded to wrap her arms around

Deidara's warm, exposed chest. "Thank you." She whispered, and kissed his jaw line. He wrapped his arms around her shoulders, and rested his head on hers, breathing in her heady scent.

"You're welcome, un." He sighed contentedly.

They sat like that for a few minutes, until Deidara yawned lightly. "Oh, I'm sorry. You're probably tired, huh?" She asked, pulling back to look at his face.

"You don't have to leave!" He exclaimed frantically.

"I have a feeling you'd sleep better if I weren't here, though." She said. "I want you to get some sleep, okay? I'll be here in the morning." She comforted him.

"Fine, un. Goodnight, Chishio-chan." He sighed as she stood up, and grabbed her present.

"Don't look so down. Sweet dreams, Dei-kun." She said, and walked toward the door. She smiled at him one last time, before silently closing the door.

As he lay down in the dark, he whispered, "I love you."

She kept a content smile on her face as she entered her room. 'I think I should get my instruments out.' She thought.

Looking through her sealing scrolls, she found the one she was looking for. 'Music' was scrawled neatly on the front.

She broke the seal, and there was suddenly a black grand piano, a green violin case, and a black hard-shell guitar case, which contained one of her favorite material possessions:

A high gloss, maple fingerboard, blueburst Johnson JJAG-7200 Folk Guitar.

(Okay, I know nothing about guitars, but this one is really pretty. Here's the link.

./guitars/guitar_johnson_folk_

It's pretty, okay?)

There was also a guitar stand, a music stand, a small box that contained multiple guitar picks, and another small box containing extra rosin for the violin. (I actually played that one. Pretty well, too. Until my instructor got ill… I want to play the piano now.)

She gently and effortlessly moved the piano to a suitable spot. She put down a soft white felt runner over the piano to avoid scratches, then placed the bouquet of flowers Zetsu had given her on her birthday on top. She placed Deidara's gift next to the vase, angling it just right.

She stored the music stand unnoticeably behind the piano, and opened up her violin case, and pulled out the violin and a clean cloth she always kept stashed in a pocket, along with a hand-held bar of resin for the bow. Using the cloth, she gently wiped away the thin layer of dust from the fine finish.

When she was satisfied, she placed the violin back in the case, (You have to do that to avoid heavy damage.) and set the case against the wall. She smiled again, and pulled out her prized guitar. She took out another cloth to avoid getting rosin on the guitar. After removing the dust, she set the guitar on the stand, which sat between the violin and the piano.

She sat on the piano bench, and let her fingers adjust to the feel of the keys under her fingertips. She sighed, it had been a while since she played. She started by playing a few scales. Finding herself able to accomplish these, she advanced to harder warm ups. Soon, she found herself playing Beethoven's Fur Elise, then Moonlight Sonata, The Tempest, Ave Maria, and she finished with Silence. (These are a few of my favorite Beethoven works. Along with Symphony 5.)

During the duration of the music, her eyes were closed, a soft smile on her lips as she swayed with the music.

She started when a soft round of applause was heard behind her. When she turned around, She was looking at over half the Akatsuki. Sitting on the couch, and a few on the floor, were Sasori, Deidara, Itachi, Kakuzu, Kisame, Zetsu, Konan, and even Pein. They all had looks of amazement on their faces, as the continued to applaud. Had they been here for the entire half hour, listening silently to her play?

She smiled as the applaud faded out. "Have you all been here the whole time?" She asked unsurely.

"Not all of us, un. I was the first one in here." Deidara answered first, from the floor. He was still shirtless, as was Itachi, Kisame, and Sasori. They were all completely sexy. They all wore sweatpants of different colors. Konan was wearing a red and black nightgown that went down to her knees, and Kakuzu, Zetsu, and Pein were wearing blank T-shirts. Zetsu had somehow (and she didn't really want to know how.) removed the flytrap, revealing his complete black-and-white-and-green head (His hair = green.)

Now that she studied them, she noticed. "Sasori… Are you a puppet?"

He raised an eyebrow, but nodded.

"Cool. So, since you were here listening, do you even know what I was playing? Anybody?" She asked meeting all their eyes.

"Beethoven, if I'm not mistaken." Itachi answered surely.

"Hmm, you know classical music?" She pursed her lips.

"I enjoy it. I know most of it." He answered monotonously.

"Alright Mister Smarty Pants, let's play a game. Name the song." She smirked, turned around, and started on a slow tempo, gradually increasing the speed, until it was a very joyful lilt. She finished by slowing the tempo again, and landing on a B flat.

"Hmm, I don't suppose I know that one." He answered, seeming just the tiniest bit curious.

She giggled. "Yeah, I'd be extremely surprised if you did, for that melody was of my own creation, as are a few more."

"Very nice, hmm." Deidara commented.

"Anyway, how'd you find your way into my room?" She asked him.

"I was going for water, and I heard you through your door." He answered. "I got Sasori-no-Danna to come with me. The rest apparently found their own way in, hmm."

"Okay, well, you can all go to bed now. I'm done on the piano for tonight." She said.

"Nice guitar, Chishio-chan," Kakuzu commented. "Bet it's worth a lot of money…" He trailed off.

"Kakuzu, you're my friend and all, but if you so much as lay one finger, tentacle, or otherwise on it, I'll personally rip all five of your hearts out. Painfully." She threatened, glaring daggers at the miser.

He somewhat paled, and left the room soon after. Kisame's eye twitched, and he confided, "Wow, I have never seen that side of you, Chishio-chan. Remind me not to get on your bad side."

"I meant every word of it. Any soul who dares touch any of my instruments without my permission will very shortly suffer through a long, painful death." She said every word with a sharp edge; venom laced through her voice.

At that, she could even see Pein was a bit paler.

"But don't worry. As long as you follow that one golden rule, we're on good terms. I would never hurt anybody without sufficient reason." She assured them with a soft, trustable smile. They all relaxed a bit.

Konan stood up, and with a yawn, said, "Well, that music was beautiful, but Pein and I are going on an urgent mission early tomorrow."

Pein nodded, and stood up also. "While I'm gone, Itachi is in charge. Chishio, report to my office at 5 am sharp for a mission description."

Chishio nodded, and the two left. "Well, maybe I'm crazy, but I'll go out on a limb and say that you guys are tired, and that the music didn't help. So, go ahead back to your rooms, and I may not see you tomorrow, or for a while."

There were a few nods, and soon, everyone had left.

"Well, another mission so soon." She sighed, and got up. She stretched up, and could just faintly pick out pops in her spine.

"Well, since it's about 11 o'clock, I have 6 hours to do what I please." She sighed. 'I know, I'll paint.' She said, and walked over to her easel. She put up a new canvas, and started sketching in pencil.

FF 6 hours

Chishio stepped out of the shower, and grabbed one of her big beige towels. Wrapping it around herself, she stepped out of the bathroom, and walked across her room to her closet. She spared a smiling glance to her now finished painting.

Entering her closet, she put on underwear, and a pair of black ninja capri pants, followed by the ninja shoes with the white legwarmer things. Just a black tube top and net sleeves covered her bra.

She topped those off with the nice, loose-fitting Akatsuki cloak. She attached her weapon pouch to her right thigh, and left the closet.

Re-entering the bathroom, she ran the towel through her damp hair again, and ran a brush through it. She put it in a French braid quickly, and tied her black headband loosely around her neck, so it was unseen. (Because of the ridiculously-high-but-awesome-looking collar of the cloak.) "Damn! I knew I forgot something." She muttered to herself, and pulled out a kunai. she lifted the headband, and laid a thin, smooth scratch through it. Replacing the kunai, she walked out of her room.

She finally reached the door at 4:59. She knocked on the door, and a sleepy voice called, "Come in."

She entered casually. "Not much of a morning person, Leader-sama? Well, I guess you barely got six hours of sleep, huh?" She realized.

"Yeah, whatever. Here," He handed her a file, "is the profile of the man I want you to spy on. Be careful, he's the six tails host. I just need the information in the file. You're dismissed. Leave as soon as possible." His sleepy eyes did nothing to assert command, even if they had the Rinnegan.

She smiled at him obediently, and nodded. "Of course, Leader-sama. Good luck on your mission, too." He nodded, and she left the room. She headed back to her room to pack. As she did, she read the young host's profile. The first thing to catch her attention was his photo.

He was young, and his black hair fell in his eyes. His soft reddish eyes were unremarkable. He wore a light blue robe with dark blue trim and a red sash. He seemed a very calm, peaceful man. He had pale skin, and a green scroll was tucked in his robe.

The profile read: (Okay, I'm making up the name and place, because he is an unnamed Jinchuuriki, and in his picture there is no headband. We don't know what kind of animal the demon is, either. In his picture, he's blowing bubbles, so that points to possible bubble based jutsu. The description and number of tails is right, though.)

yeah, that's him.)

It ended there. She finished packing the necessary equipment, and pulled out a piece of paper. In her own natural calligraphy, she wrote:

Deidara,

Well, I'm sorry I broke my promise- I'm not going to be there when you wake up. I have a mission in Taki. I'll try to be back within two weeks, at the most. Take care of yourself, and my fish, pretty please? Thank you. Just feed him twice a day. Make sure nobody comes in my room. Attached is the only key to my bedroom door, besides the one I keep on me.

Lots of love, Chishio

P.S. The painting on my easel is a gift for you. Try not to miss me too much!!!

Once she was satisfied, she cast a departing glance at the painting, and left her room. She crept silently into Deidara's unlocked room, and set the note, along with the key on his bedside table. She smiled softly at his innocent-looking face.

She leaned down, and kissed his lips lightly, causing him to shiver, but smile in his sleep. He huddled closer under the blankets, and let out a contented sigh.

Tapping into his dream, she liked what she saw, almost too much.

Dream…

On a grassy hill sat two figures, basking in the last glow of the twilight. They seemed to be waiting for something on the warm Summer evening. Soon the last light had faded, and the stars shone brightly against the cool, inky sky. In the midst of the silence, a great bang was heard. A second later, the sky was flush with bright color.

The shorter figure let out a sweet bout of laughter at the sight, as the taller watched the previous. Another shot was heard, and the sky shone red. In the short time the light illuminated the two figure's faces, Chishio identified them as herself and Deidara. As the next shot was fired, Deidara put his Arms around Chishio, and she returned the warm embrace. As another firework -blue this time- lit the sky, they looked into each others eyes, smiling softly. He leaned down and captured her lips, both of them melting into the passionate kiss.

She pulled out of his dream smiling softly, noticing his identical expression. She realized she had been in that for about a half an hour. On a split-second impulse, she added to the note.

P.P.S. Nice dream.

With that, she made her way out of his room, and out of the base.

,`~,`~,`~,`~,`~,` That's chapter 21,`~,`~,`~,`~,`~,`

Well, this chapter was extremely… long. And I let just the tiniest bit of my Pervy-ness leak into it. Really, that was only a little bit of perverted-ness for me. Well, as opposed to my recent really short 3-4 page chapters, this one is 7. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Deidara: "Oh, I did, yeah." -smirk-

Me: "Le Gaspeth!!!! Dei-kun, wh-what are you doing, reading over my shoulder?!" -Tries to hide story-

Deidara: "Aww, what? I can't be here? I'm in the story!!!" -pouts-

Me: "Fine, whatever." -relaxes-

Deidara: "I'll do the honors, hmm. Billie doesn't own anything except Chishio and the plot, un."

Me: "Don't forget, in my mind I own you- I mean… Please review!!!" -blushes-

Deidara: "Oh yeah?" -smirks- "Well, how about this, yeah?" -takes off shirt-

Me: -nosebleed- "Bye readers!!!" -pulls down blinds- "RAWR!!!!"

… Rock on!!! \m/(.)\m/
