With Christmas around the corner, the trio was getting more and more excited.
"I can't wait for Christmas!" Alice said with a huge smile as she danced around the hidden room.
The room had been decorated for Christmas with a blazing fire and a Christmas tree decorated in shining tinsel in red and yellow.
The three sat on the floor, which was covered in a plush carpet, and worked on different things.
James, who had a yo-yo, was playing with it and trying out different tricks.
Alice was trying to turn a dead beetle into a button.
And Elsa, she was trying to finish her homework and make a Christmas present for her brother. Leo had not said what he had wanted, but Elsa was going to guess. He loved Lions, so she was drawing him a Lion. The picture was almost finished, and in her eyes was perfect for her little brother.
"What are you both doing for Christmas?" James asked as he looked at the girls.
"We're probably going to my grandparents. We do every other year." Elsa explained.
"That sounds fun! I love visiting my great-grandma!" Alice exclaimed.
"Sometimes it is fun, but the older they get the more they find that pure-blood values are good." Elsa explained with a shrug.
"That would suck. My grandparents are awesome." James said. "Though, I always get a sweater with a 'J' on it."
"I wish I got a cool sweater." Alice complained.
"That would be cool!" Elsa agreed with a smile. "I usually get things that my dad buys, not makes." she explained.
"I've got an idea!" Alice said, her eyes shinning with excitement.
"And that is?" asked James. Just after he asked, Trix appeared in the room and walked over to Elsa. Elsa, who was laying on her stomach, soon had a cat laying on her back.
"Well, after Christmas, bring all your things to school and we will see who gets the most." James nodded, and Elsa did too. She wasn't sure if she liked the idea, but agreed to it anyways.
The three soon lapsed into silence and only got up when they realized they needed to be back to their common rooms in ten minutes. They left the hidden room and ran down the halls and down the stairs.
Elsa and Alice soon left James as they raced to the main floor. They ran into the common room just as it became curfew for them. They sighed and flopped down on two chairs. Trix curled up in front of the fire, and Elsa smiled.
"So," Alice said, catching her breath. "My younger sister is coming to the school next year."
"Are you excited?" Elsa asked as she looked over at Alice.
"Of course!" Alice's words, tone of voice, and facial expression showed that she was elated. But as Elsa stared at her, she felt as though Alice was trying to deceive her. Because, instead of her usual, bright eyes, they were dull.
Elsa said nothing about the fact that her friend was lying though, and just responded as a good friend would, "That's good. I cannot wait to meet her."
