The camp was already in sight. His paws sunk into the sand, and so did his heart. His rotten hyena of a son kept him surrounded by the best lionesses the pride, blocking him from any escape. He knew the plan. He knew for a while now. His son wanted to rape and eat his daughter.

How dare he think of such wile acts? Although his daughter was a fine lion, her body was human. It was a monstrosity to think of mating her. But, his son was fucked.

He knew he was fucked from the day he killed his first human. It was meant only for survival, but he could see the mad glint in his eye. He was lost, the taste of human had tempted him into sin. At first he was in denial, but his son would go on trips, long ones, and come back smelling like human. After a while, it became more and more obvious his son was mad, each day the sanity in his eyes would be lost. Then, he left. He could not bear to see his son go any madder.

That was when he found his little girl. Originally, it was just pity. He knew his son was a human killer, yet here was the most fragile of the human kind at his paw. Purely out of pity, he took it in.

He grew to love its hideous human body, and its hideous human face. It was his ugly child, and he loved it. He cherished her, and protected her.

Yet he, the mighty Raiku, the once great warrior of lions, had grown old.

He had gotten past his age limits years ago, but he continued to live for his human child. Now, his body had become fragile; his bones were brittle, his blood lukewarm, and his fur greying. He did not have as much fight in him as before, and his son knew it. His son had seen him in his prime, and seen his weakness more than strength. His son was unlike his daughter, who looked up to him every day, despite his old body. She would always admire him, groom him, and cuddle with him, no thought of age or weakness. In the lion world, the old or weak die. But, to her, he was her most beloved father.

He never did want her to leave his side. It was selfish of him, but he cared so deeply for her. He, the great warrior Raiku, was much too overprotective of her. She was fragile, she was small, and most of all she was human. Growing up, he could see her attempts at becoming more like a lion, yet she was still so tiny and frail. It was daunting. Something like a single swipe could kill her.

But she grew beyond his expectations. She fought so well, almost no one could hurt her. Then, was the day she killed another lion.

He was terrified. His little human daughter was a killer, just like his son. This situation was a complete opposite, yet the scene was familiarly terrifying. He wondered then, was he the one who taught them this terrible sin?

But, she did not eat the lion like his son ate the human. Instead, she became even more lion-like by taking its body parts. It was just as sinful, but he still loved her. Then he realized, she did it for his love.

Day by day went, and his love grew and grew. Before he knew it, she was a fine lion, and a fine daughter. She became his pride, despite her being the laughing stalk of the dessert.

The camp was in site now, and he wished it was not true. He looked over to his son, the mad glint in his eyes had no sanity, just bloodlust and hunger.

He had to warn his daughter. Even if it killed him.

She was sleeping on the deck when she awoke.

The night had become too silent, the air chilled against her exposed skin. She bristled, knowing something was off. She rushed into the house, going to Sasuke's room first. She jumped on his bed, putting her hands on his mouth so he couldn't make a noise. He jolted. His eyes wide. His lips attempted to move, but she pressed harder. He struggled, trying to push her off but she kept her spot on top of him.

"Bad coming." She told him quietly. His eyes were clouded with confusion, but slowly a light shone through the dark depths. He nodded, showing her he understood. She was off to the next room in a heartbeat, her feet making no sound.

She did not know what it was, but her instincts were like knifes stabbing into her. Something very bad was coming. She had to warn the humans now, they were too frail to be asleep during an attack. All of them would die.

She was on her way to Itachi's room when she giant of a dog started barking, yelling danger, danger. Already the humans were prepped with their booming sticks, confused but ready. At least they would have a chance, she thought. She crept into Itachi's room. The man was half roused, blinking groggily as she swept in.

"Hinata?" He asked, rubbing his eye. "Why is Akamaru freaking out?" She quickly pressed her finger to his lips. He shushed, his eyes still droopy with sleep. Such a frail human. If she was slow to wake, she would have been dead long ago.

But, this human was also her mate. That meant she would have to protect him, and Sasuke.

She grinned, but her skin tingled with fear. Her instincts were screaming to her, yelling for her to run, this fight that was coming was impossible.

"Bad coming." She whispered before nuzzling his cheek. "Mate." She licked him, before drifting out of the tent. The humans may have long distance weapons, but nothing to protect them from brute attacks. Oh, and they were so fragile. They did not know how to fight, nor to sense the pure bloodlust in the air. They were like babies with their booming sticks clutched so tightly to their chests.

She trotted over to Sasuke, who was on hyper alert. He took her warning well, it seemed. She nuzzled his cheek, before licking it. "Mate." She mumbled, before trotting away. His hand reached out, but she dodged it.

If she knew anything, it was this battle would likely be the death of someone. Hopefully, it was not her mates. She didn't care if she died, she was a lion after all. Death was normal, as was pain. But, she did not want the humans to die, in their fragile nature she felt an urge to protect them.

"HINATA!" It was her dad's mighty roar that had her crouched and ready to go. Taunt pelts that matched the sand melted from the night. The loud booms stated to go off as she launched herself into the brawl.

She knew from the beginning that someone was going to die. As the lioness parted around her, she understood exactly why her instincts were so wild. Her brother walked toward her, her dad in his jaws. Her mighty dad had claw and bite marks all over his body, blood soaking his greying fur. Her father was limp, but his eyes still coherent. Said eyes were begging her to run.

But the rage filling her said otherwise.

"GREEEARRRRA!" She let out a mighty roar and launched herself at her brother, only to get caught midair by a lioness. In second she was pinned, and surrounded.

Her dad lay motionless behind the circle of lioness, his eyes still watching. Her brother was standing over him, watching. The bastard must have broken his spine, seeing as her father was completely still. Her mighty father's eyes filled with tears, begging her to run. She shifted under the lioness, but she put more weight onto her.

Tears filled her eyes.

"Da…Dad." She whimpered out. Never before did she feel so helpless, or so human. She could do nothing under the huge tawny lioness, her heavy muscular body pinning her to the sand. She was small compared to them. She always knew she was weak, and fragile, but now she was facing the consequences. Her father was going to die in front of her, and she could do nothing about it.

Gunshots were firing, picking off the lionesses surrounding her, but her eyes were solely on her dad. Her brother laughed madly, before his huge teeth sunk into her dad's neck. Her vision went red, she could almost swear it was her dad's blood that tainted it. Perhaps it was the red from her father's blood, as the life slowly drained out of him, but something inside her broke, filling her with rage. She screamed, the sound piercing the air.

Now, she had the strength of a lion. She pushed the lioness off her, sending her scraping at the sand. Hinata pounced at her first, ripping her throat out with more ease then necessary. It was as if her father's strength had filled her giving her power she did not know. Another lioness lunged at her, while another circled behind her. She kicked one away, using the momentum to slash down another lions face. An eyeball ripped out, impaled by her claw. The lioness yelled loudly, raising its mighty head. A bad choice, because she tore out its throat. Blood coated her, the metallic smell making her mouth water.

She would kill.

Kill them all.

A lioness circled her, only to be shot down. It yowled in pain, before another shot silenced it.

She had a path to her father. She took it, only to get stopped as her brother stepped in front of her. She snarled and swiped at him, but he dodged. In this haze, her mind was reeling at the loud booms, and her nose burning at the metallic sent surrounded her. Only one thing was clear. Kill. She would kill him.

She crouched low, her claws aching to embed inside him. He looked so cocky, his muzzle coated with their fathers blood.

She could only ask one thing. "Why?" They started to circle, both watching for an opening. The loud booming continued, dulling her further as she focused solely on her brother. Now, she could taste the crisp air, and feel the cold air on her skin. Most of all, she could smell the sharp tang of blood.

"Because he chose you."

She launched at him, but he swiped her out of the air. He laughed, raising his mane to show his lionesses his mighty win, but before he could fully turn, she launched herself onto his back. It was his mistake, for being so boastful. Did he really think she would be done with a single hit? He roared for his lionesses help, but the last gunshot sounded in the crisp night air.

She wrapped her arms around his thick neck, his main tickling her nose. He had stilled now, as did she. Across the moonlight sand laid tawny bodies and pools of black. Not one lioness was left.

"They… Are gone?" He sounded dumbstucken. Perhaps he thought he was unbeatable, being surrounded by so many loyal lionesses. But now, seeing the body littering the ground, he almost seemed lost.

It almost made her want to pity him, if it wasn't for the fact her father lay among them, or the fact her father's blood stained his muzzle.

"Yes." She dug her claws into his neck, piercing his windpipe. She let him go, the sound of his breath whistling through his mane. She jumped off him, watching as he stumbled. Not only did she pierce his windpipe, but the main artery in his neck. Blood spilled out, coating him in black.

"What.. Why am I… Weak… How did you…" The sound became harder, blood dripping into the sand. He looked absolutely confused, lost, like a cub. She watched as he sank to his side, his fear growing worst.

What he didn't know, was that she was a hunter. For years she trained to kill prey bigger than her and much tougher than her. She knew the weak points all over the body, and sweet spots that could make an animal bleed out. She stood like a human, watching as the fear filling his slowly faded to nothing.

Soon, he was as lifeless as the rest of them.

"I am my father's daughter." She whispered quietly. "I am a lion, worthy of being a mighty warrior…" Tears filled her eyes. Slowly, she turned to her dads limp body. "I am my father's daughter…" The salty tears spilled over as she took a step, her voice quivering. "I am…" She dropped to her knees before she could take another step toward him. "Human…." She cried, laughed, and smiled, perhaps she had gone a bit bad. "I am… Human…" She whispered, the tears overpowering her. The night air rang with her yowls, even the moon hid from her, taking safety behind the clouds.
