Snapshot Twenty-One: The Klutz vs. the Nitpicker

Game: Awakening
Related to: Anything with Nyk
Summary: Nykolai is a notorious klutz. Frederick is a neatfreak. The two don't get along well, to say the least.
Notes: K, so I'm alive. I wanted to incorporate a certain DLC from Fates that had me fangasming (if that's a thing). Namely Before Awakening. If you have reached beyond chapter six of any of the paths in Fates, you'll know what I'm talking about.

Unfortunately, I couldn't manage it, so I decided to leave it with just the little inspiration that hit me a couple days ago. Also, I read a fantastic fanfic where there were some seriously creative noises put into text. Clearly, I'm trying to make use of that...

Enjoy! I WILL see you...maybe tomorrow or the day after with FATES stuff. I promised, didn't I? (I already have TWO snapshots from Fates).

Crashhhhhh!

Frederick froze in his patrol at the rather destructive sound coming from the arms tent. He nodded to Sully, who was patrolling with him and started toward said tent, lance at the ready. Who knew what could be the cause? Risen? One of their many enemies?

He burst into the tent, nearly skewering Lucina. She glanced at him through her fingers. "It's only Nyk," she said, her voice laced with laughter.

A groan erupted from the mess of weaponry that Frederick had only an hour earlier organized to his exacting standards. "Not funny..." The weaponry moved, revealing the Shepherds' ingenious yet extremely clumsy grandmaster. "Ouch..."

Lucina picked her way through the fallen stands and weapons, helping her husband uncover himself.

"May I ask what, exactly, happened here?" Frederick growled, more than a little miffed at the sight. All his hard work ruined!

"Chrom asked me to take inventory," Nykolai said, standing. He rubbed his face where there was a nasty cut that slowly seeped blood. He glanced at the blood on his hand the pressed the sleeve of his coat to the cut.

Frederick nodded. He knew they had camped near a town. Supplies would need to be purchased. Still the knight wondered why Chrom hadn't asked him to take inventory.

Nykolai continued. "I, uh, tripped over...something, and well..." The grandmaster gestured to the area around him, his expression rather sheepish. "I can clean it up."

"No. I will," Frederick snapped. "Go see milady Lissa, or one of the other healers.

Nykolai nodded, carefully navigated to the tent's entrance, and left, Lucina at his side.

Frederick grumbled. He called a replacement for his patrol and got to work, still grumbling.
