Rachel turned once more looking at the hospital before fear struck deeply. Pain flooded her and she stopped running trying to catch her breath. Her phone vibrated again and she ignored the incoming text. "Gather your thoughts. They need you," she whispered to herself as her phone vibrated again. Pulling the phone out she looked at the new text.

Ignore what ur feeling. That will improve. Help ur friends. -G

Rachel looked at the text for a few minutes before replying. Shortly after sending her text she received another.

That isn't important…yet. You will know me soon. -G

Rachel ignored everything now. The texts the emotions that weren't hers. Nothing mattered anymore. Her friends needed her and it was time for her to actually help. She was ready to avenge Allison's death. She dashed into a full sprint running toward the house but something felt off the closer she got to the suburban part of Beacon Hills the less she felt pain. The less she felt other's pains and fears. Closing her eyes she focused as hard as she could hoping something would happen. Nothing ever did and she ran back to town. The sky was getting darker and the street lights began to flicker.

"You'll never find them. All their blood will be on your hands," void Stiles smiled standing before her. "The oni are already there."

"Where?" Rachel demanded as he laughed in her face.

"You really think I'll give them up so easily?!"

"Your games are over, you've run out of moves," she squinted as he faked a laugh.

"I'm done when I say I'm done," he smiled as her fists clenched. "The hardest part is who should I keep for the end? Your cousin…Derek, or your leader…Scott? I want you to see the life run out of their eyes. Oh I know, I'll have your brother do it for me." His smile was pale and dark. Rachel clenched her fists tighter till her nails dug into her palms and caused her to begin to bleed. Raising her hand she swung but void Stiles dissipated into a cloud of smoke on contact.

"Shit!" she cursed realizing it was only a distraction. She continued running and suddenly she remembered Isaac saying something about the school. She ran as fast as she could her heart beat perfectly calm and her emotions hadn't clouded her yet. As the school came into view the area around her seemed to get darker as if it was reaching midnight. A glance at her phone told her it was only seven forty-five. Rachel ran down to the school passing by the underground to the lacrosse field. She saw Derek, Aiden, and Ethan running toward her. As she ran in their direction void Stiles and two Oni stood between them.

"Well how interesting," void Stiles manages to smirk at Derek and the twins. "I've heard of a pack of alphas, but never a pack of used to be alphas," he smiles darkly.

"Hey!" Rachel screams grabbing his attention.

"And the link to both packs, perfect combination," void Stiles says with a sickening grin.

"Just because I'm no longer an alpha doesn't mean I can't fight like one," Derek growled as the trio behind shifted into their wolf forms. Derek placed the box he held down and glared at the trio before him. Someone else's strength and excitement pulses through Rachel as she feels her shift happening. Aiden was the first to attack.

"Why am I not surprised?" void Stiles sighed as Aiden charged. An oni transported from the stairs to Rachel faster than she could blink and swung down with the sword. Rachel gasped and dropped to the floor rolling just before the sword hit her. She lifted her legs and kicked the oni in the shin causing it to stumble back and Derek slammed his claws into it's back. Swinging the blade it missed Derek and struck Rachel lightly across her cheek. The blood trickled down her cheek as her blue eyes glared at the oni that struck her. "Keep her!" void Stiles' demands as something grabs her from behind twisting her right arm causing her to drop to one knee. Void Stiles held her tightly as Derek, Aiden, and Ethan continued fighting the oni. "One by one they will fall, and you'll feel it all," he whispered in her ear.

"Take the box to Scott, Derek and I can hold them off," Ethan demanded as his brother nodded and ran for the box that Derek placed down.

"Now the fun begins," void Stiles twisted Rachel's arm harder causing her to gasp in pain. Her shift ended and she was normal once more. As Aiden reached for the box two more oni appear from smoke as the three step back. "Watch carefully, do you feel their fear yet?"

"No, I feel yours," she whispered before slamming the back of her head into his chest. He released her and she stepped back rubbing her shoulder. "You're afraid, your time is running out," Rachel smirked raising her fists. Void Stiles looked around nervously before raising his fists. "I would rather die saving my friends than watch them parish by your hand," she said strongly releasing a powerful kick that sent void Stiles back a few feet.

He smiled and as he charged her the soft whistle of an arrow cut the night followed by the clang of a sword stopped everything. Rachel turned around to see one of the oni shake violently it's eyes glowing gold and dissipating into a cloud of smoke. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed a figure backflip into the scene. Her smile stretched a little more at the sight of her brother. Mr. Argent stood on the ledge preparing his crossbow. "We can kill them," she smiled relieved turning to face void Stiles. He looked panicked and nervous before disappearing into a cloud of smoke. As the other three oni lifted their swords Rachel and Isaac ran in to help Derek and the twins.

Another arrow cut the night and killed the second oni as Rachel distracted the third. She became too cocky and one oni kicked her feet from under her. She laid on her back the blood surfacing at her hair line. She covered her face as the oni held the tip of the blade above her. She heard a sound of arrow going through a solid object and watched as the third oni turned into another cloud of smoke. She looked at Mr. Argent and smiled with a nod thanking him as he nodded back preparing the fourth arrow.

She looked around and noticed her brother and the box were missing. "We did it," she whispered as the fourth arrow flew through the night. She closed her eyes listening for the joyous end but this sound was different. She opened her eyes as the top half of the arrow bounced off the ground and rolled to her feet. The oni held its sword tightly looking at her. She looked toward Derek who looked just as shocked as she felt.

"Stab it! It's the last one!" Mr. Argent yelled from where he stood. Rachel looked at the half arrow and knelt down picking it up she threw it to Derek and Aiden caught it. She watched as the young werewolf put all his power into stabbing the oni, but suddenly she felt a sharp pain in her stomach followed by sorrow and fear.

"No," she whispered grabbing her stomach. She looked at Aiden who stepped back and Ethan's voice echoed in her head as she watched Aiden slowly take the sword out. Quickly collapsing to the floor. "Oh my God," she whispered before the three of them ran to him. Derek cradled the dying once alpha.

Rachel froze watching the agony between the brother's. Suddenly the pain intensifies as she could feel Ethan's pain joining Aiden's.

"It hurts," Aiden managed to speak as a black thick blood surfaced to his mouth and trickled down his chin. "Does it hurt you too," he cried as his brother nodded wordlessly crying with him. Rachel backed away kneeling to the ground covering her mouth as a few tears surface. "Lydia," Aiden chocked on the black goo trying to get air in his lungs, "she's never…going to believe….I was apart of the good guys," he whined as his breathing quickened. The pain dug deep in Rachel's body as she struggled to breathe, her breath matching his.

"No, she'll believe you," Derek said softly as Ethan placed his forehead to his brother's trying to comfort him.

"Don't let go," Rachel whispered as the pain began weakening. Suddenly she no longer felt the pain and sorrow of three persons. She felt Derek and Ethan's but no longer the burn of an open wound in her stomach. She looked at the scene of Aiden limp in Derek's arms and Ethan crying even harder. The doors to the school quickly opened and Lydia ran out quickly stopping she covered her mouth and turned into Stiles' arms.

Rachel's phone vibrated again, but she refused to look at the text. Her phone vibrated again from the text. She slowly pulled her phone out and looked at the text.

Never liked the feeling of losing an emotion from death. I'm sorry. -G

Angrily Rachel replied seconds later 'G' replied.

Soon. I'll come to you. -G

Rachel took a deep breath as she walked over to her brother, his face expression concerned her. "I want to go home," she said hushed as he nodded and hugged her. "Why do I get the feeling you aren't telling me something," she whispered looking up at her brother. She felt a small pain in her heart as if one would be missed for a long time. The feeling was her brother's. "What's going on?"

"We'll talk soon," he sighed as she pushed him away from the tragedy.

"No, we'll talk now," she demanded as Isaac sighed.

"I'm going back to the Argent's home…" Isaac took a long pause causing Rachel to get a little concerned.

"Why do I have a feeling you're leaving?" Isaac looked at his sister for a while before looking at Mr. Argent. "You are leaving, with him. You're going to wherever he is going, aren't you?" Isaac sighed and nodded. "When are you coming home?"

"I don't know," he sighed. Rachel's lip quivered as he sighed. "I'll keep in touch it's not like I'm pushing you out of my life."

"You're leaving tonight," she whispered almost inaudible.

"We have a nine o'clock flight?"

"Where are you going?"

"I'll tell you when I get there," he sighed. "I don't know exactly where we are going, I just know our layover is in Detroit, I don't know after that," he sighed as she hugged him tightly. "I love you, Rachel."

"I love you, Isaac," she cried as she slowly weakened her grip and let him go. She watched her brother walk over to Mr. Argent and he they waved at her before going back to Mr. Argent's car.

Rachel takes a few steps back after her brother left covering her mouth. Her world seemed to slow once more as she fell to her knees crying. Scott ran over catching her before she fully fell. He hugged her as she cried in his arms. She cried until she made herself exhausted and nearly passed out. She remembered nothing after that moment. When she woke she sat up in her bed in the McCall home. She checked her phone seeing it was six in the morning. The weekend had passed and school was starting for a new week. Knowing life would never truly be normal Rachel pulled herself from her bed and walked to her bathroom. She prepared herself for school and then made her way downstairs and into the kitchen. She tried ignoring her feelings toward the past events. Mrs. McCall sat at the kitchen table looking over a folder.

"Good morning," she said carefully as Rachel nodded numbly.

"Good morning," she finally replied.

"Rachel," Mrs. McCall started, "you don't have to go to school if you don't want to," she said as Rachel shook her head.

"I do," she nodded strongly as Mrs. McCall nodded. "It'll get better," she paused looking out the dark window.

"Well if you change your mind I won't be upset," Mrs. McCall kissed the girl on the head before leaving the room. Rachel sat quietly in the kitchen for another hour until Scott came down.

"You ready?" she asked with a forced smile as Scott yawned and threw her her keys.

"You want a lift or you going to take the bike?"

"I'll take the bike," he said calmly as she nodded. After a few more minutes Rachel got ready and made her way to her car and drove to school. She parked in her normal spot and looked at the empty parking spot next to hers. Taking a deep breath she tried ignoring the pain that grew in her. She made her way into the school and over to her locker where Lydia and Kira stood talking.

"It's hard," Kira said as Rachel opened her locker.

"What's hard," Rachel asked looking at Kira who looked at her with an awkward smile.

"It's hard that she doesn't know how to comfort Scott and the other's with…well our loses," Lydia said a sting effecting both girls.

"Yeah," Kira said softly, "I mean, I'm still the new girl," she shrugged.

"Not for long," Lydia spoke up pointing to the southern stairwell as Coach came down talking to a new girl.

"That's Malia," Rachel nodded looking at the young girl.

"You probably would be great at track you have excellent muscle definition," Coach said walking past the trio by the locker.

"I used to sometimes run away from cougars trying to eat me," Melia spoke up looking at Rachel, Lydia, and Kira.

Coach laughed a little, "Got the same problem," he laughed waving her on. Malia soon smiled at the three girls only to have Lydia smile back and Rachel wave awkwardly.

"And how are you and Stiles?" Lydia asked as Rachel closed her locker and walked with Kira and Lydia. The three walked in silence for a few minutes before Rachel looked at them.

"We aren't back to where we were, and I think we'll just be friends…for a while." Lydia smiled sympathetically. "He's still my best friend, but I said we needed a break, and we still do, I'll hang out with him, I mean I'm supposed to go to his house after school today."

"To help," Kira asked nudging her head toward Malia as Rachel nodded.

"I don't mind being friends with…" Suddenly someone bumped into Rachel causing both of them to fall.

"Are you ok?" Lydia asked grabbing her friend's arm.

"I'm fine."

"Watch where you are going," Lydia snapped looking at the blond boy who began picking up his books. Rachel caught a glimpse of a golden monogram of a capital 'G' on one of the boys books. She helped him up taking the book.

"Are you ok?" Rachel asked as the boy looked up, he was a year younger than her and had sharp green eyes. His ratty blonde hair covered his eyes as he looked down.

"I'm fine," he sighed a British accent coming out. She looked to Lydia and Kira.

"I'll meet with you guys later," she said as Lydia looked at Rachel funny.

"You know him?" Lydia spoke up as Rachel nodded awkwardly.

"I do," she said as the boy looked at her. Lydia and Kira nodded before Rachel took him around a corner to another hallway. "How did you get my number?" she barked in a hushed tone as the british boy smiled at her.

"The question of getting your question is far less more important Rachel."

"How do you know me?"

"Easy," he smirked. "We're family."

"I've never met you. How could you be my family?"

"Have you felt anyone's emotions lately, maybe lost emotions at death?"

"How do you know about any of that?" she glared at him.

"The name's Gavin Marsh. My father was your mother's cousin. We're cousins," he said smugly. "My family produces the links," he said with a smirk.

"My mother's family died in a fire," she whispered as Gavin laughed.

"The Hale family died in a fire, I honestly thought I was the last link but when you became one…I felt the connection."

"You're crazy," Rachel rolled her eyes.

"My father told me a few Hale's survived the fire and that you're mother was one of them. The night she died didn't something happen to you? Something unexplainable?"

"I had a dream about her giving me a silver necklace with a silver celtic trinity on the end." Gavin nodded as she looked at him funny. "She never gave me the necklace, we buried her in that necklace," Rachel sighed.

"Every family has a symbol for the link. Each link by birth is given that necklace," Gavin said pulling a celtic cross out from under his shirt. "That trinity necklace was your mother's symbol, and she did leave it for you," he said as Rachel laughed. Reaching into his bag he pulled the necklace out and Rachel gasped. She shook her head.

"How dare you," she barked. "You would dig up my mother's…"

"No," he said covering her mouth. "Look at the necklace," he demanded placing the necklace in her hands. "I was at the funeral, see the little triskelion scribed on the three tips. The one she was buried didn't have them. This is her real necklace," he said calmly. "I can help you, become stronger, know what your hidden talents are, show you how to be a true link." Rachel stared at the necklace and jumped at the sound of the bell.

"I'll text you after school," she said calmly before clamping the necklace around her neck.
