*The First Day of the Spring Semester*

"Do you, do you think they know? They totally know. They have too right? I mean they're in law school. They are pretty sufficient at deducing the clues before them. You staring at me the beginning of last semester. Then us staring at each other. They know Cyrus is my mentor and you and Cyrus are best buds. Then you kicked me out every class for like three weeks. And now we are walking on campus together in the new year? After time away…both of us. I mean they don't know we were both in the Bahamas but mean I'm always here during the break. Me pointing to this random page in this random law book won't throw them off our scent." Olivia panicked.

"And neither will you broadcasting our relationship." Fitz answered with a smile. "You have to be cool. Act like we have been acting."

"What do you mean? Before you knew who I was? After we started spending time together? After that failed night of the party? Or now, after I have had you in ways that made Jesus cover his eyes over winter break? I need some clarity babe."

"Well lets start with no pet names while we are out and about." Fitz said looking in his bag for this semester's schedule.

"I see the break has done you both some good. Nice tan Fitzgerald." Cyrus greets with ice in his voice. He had never really gotten over the whole idea of them dating. Not because he didn't think they would not work out but because of the implication on bother their behalves if anyone found out. And them, huddled under a tree looking like the Princess and Prince Charming was not helping them.

"Cy, be nice." Olivia said kissing him on his cheek.

"Well, I guess it's a good think the student body knows I'm gay. That could be seen as inappropriate, wouldn't you say Fitzgerald."

"I don't know Cyrus. How about you and me make out a bit in Union Circle. That's sure to keep the rumor mill down." Fitz answered back quickly tiring of Cyrus' attitude.

"Okay, and we have reached our daily limit of bro time." Olivia said grabbing Cyrus' arm. "I will see you soon Professor Grant." She said walking away with Cyrus in tow.

"As will I, Ms. Pope." He answer watching them walk away.

"Good Morning Fitzgerald." Mellie's annoying voice pulled him from the trance he entered from watching Olivia's hip sway. She was doing it just for him and he must say, she was good.

"Mellie." Fitz replied turning to face her. "How was your vacation?"

"The best I have had in years. It could have been better if someone was with me. What did you do for the holidays? You were not at my Dad's Christmas party this year." Mellie leans in a bit close, "The girls he had this year….oompf!" Mellie said fanning herself.

"I decided to get a bit of sun. I ran away to a warmer climate."

"I did too. I went to Florida for a bit. You?"

"The Islands." Fitz answers with a tense smile. What was she fishing for?

"That would explain the lovely tan. It looks absolutely gorgeous on you." Mellie said rubbing his arm.

Fitz tense up and slightly pulled away. And there was his answer, she was still trying to worm her way in his life. He glanced around the courtyard, meeting eyes with Olivia who is now sitting on the platform of the water fountain. She looks a bit unsettled by the turn of events. She makes a hanging gesture nodding towards Mellie with a bright smile. He laughs.

"Fitzgerald! I said Grammy fell and broke her hip and you laugh?" Mellie asked seething.

"I'm so sorry to hear that. Send her my best regards." Fitz said walking away. He walks the same path Olivia took with Cyrus just minutes ago. He passes her by with a nod. Her friends are around and he enjoys knowing her little secret: she loves him.

"Ms. Pope. How are you today?" Mellie asked. What was it about her? It was something about this girl that seemed to just draw people in. Mellie was still a little sore about her lost to Olivia during the mock debates last year, but she was looking forward to this semester's revenge…um redemption.

"I am well, Professor Van Kinney." Olivia answered respectfully. She wanted to call her Ice Queen but since this seemed to be a somewhat cordial exchange, she could cool her pettiness down a bit.

"Are you waiting for class?" Mellie asked tilting her head.

"Yes Ma'am. Advance Negotiation-"

"Practice and Procedure 9810?" Mellie finishes.

"Yes Ma'am. Olivia answers.

"Professor Jennifer Tallery 8:15 Monday, Thursday, Friday?" Mellie asks with a smirk.

Olivia drops the smile. Now Ice Queen was getting on her nerves. "Look, are you stalking me or something? Are you still upset about the mock debate? Jealous? What?"

Mellie laughed. "Oh, little girl. In no way am I jealous or upset about that MOCK debate. I could have wiped the floor with you but to do that would have led Cyrus Beene to have a fatal heart attack because may the good Lord forbid someone should ever get the best of his precious Olivia! Besides, I don't want you to lose three parents in one life time."

Olivia drops all cordial like behavior in a blink of an eye. She squints in total disdain for the woman, and she is using that word loosely, standing in front of her. "What do you want?"

"Oh, I came to tell you Jennifer is no longer teaching this class. I was here to post the sign."

"What? I confirmed my schedule with my advisor when I got back from the Bahamas." Olivia said looking through her email for a change in class information.

"Must have been last week. Jennifer broke her neck parasailing. Such a sad tragedy."

"Oh my GOD! IS she okay?" Olivia asked horrified.

"She will be fine. Just out for at least the semester."

"I need this class to graduate this semester." Olivia asked looking for alternate professors and times that worked with her schedule

"No need to find a replacement. The dean decide to transfer her classes to available professors. Your class is not cancelled."

"Oh, that's great. I don't need the trouble of finding a new class and time."

"Nope, looks like it's your luck day." Mellie said walking away. She tapes the note on the door with a smirk. "Aren't you going to ask who your new professor is

"Well?" Olivia responded looking up from her email.

"Me. See, I told you it was your lucky day." Mellie answered with a giggle.

Olivia sits back in the chair and stares ahead. "Yea, my lucky, lucky day."
