Pocahontas had a big wedding. It had all the excitement that weddings in England lacked. Well, the ones I could remember. By the time that everything was planned, the settlers had mourned for the man that died and made peace with the village.

I was surprised when the day of the wedding finally dawned. It felt as if just yesterday we had been nursing Thomas, the red head who had gotten hurt in the battle, back to health. Really it had been two months since the battle. Pocahontas and I were called upon many times to be translators during the whole treaty/wedding preparations/teaching the settlers how to survive on their own.

The actual wedding was a blur. One minute I was standing in the back of the crowd watching Pocahontas and John getting married, the next I was sitting between the village's shaman Kekata and Istas eating corn. Hawk sat on the other side of Istas. Everyone was laughing and talking and shoving food in when ever there was a pause. Everyone was happy and I was content to just sit there and watch the joyful happenings.

I glanced to my left and found Istas looking intently down the table past me. Glancing in that direction I saw nothing but the happy couple and a very nervous looking Thomas. I looked back at Istas and raised an eyebrow at her.

"Does Thomas have something on his face?" I asked. She started and sheepishly looked at me.

"I was just thinking about how Thomas is a two-souled," she said slyly. I felt my eyes grow wide. I nearly gave myself whiplash whipping my head back to look at Thomas. Sure enough the signs were there. A girl was trying to get his attention, and all he could look at was the muscular man behind her. I grinned and slowly turned to look at Istas.

"Are you thinkin' what I'm thinkin'?" I asked her. She craftily grinned back and said, "Yes."

"I'll get Hawk you get Thomas?" I asked. She nodded and a thoughtful look crossed her face.

"Now or later," she asked. I quickly thought about the next time Thomas would be this open. Not for a quite a while.

"We need to move now, we might not get another chance like this," I reasoned. She nodded and got up. I slipped closer to Hawk. Kekata briefly looked at Istas and I. His eyes widened just slightly an with a small smile he turned to the chief and whispered something to him. I shrugged it off and started to subtly bring Thomas up in conversation with Hawk.

I wasn't as desecrate as I thought I was in bring up Thomas because by the end of our conversation Hawk was looking at Thomas.

"I don't think he will be going back to England," Hawk said with a sly smile.

"Why don't you go talk to him; he doesn't speak the native language. A new friend to talk to would be nice," I slyly returned.

"I think I will, but first: what's going on with you and Kocoum?" he inquired. I blushed and looked down.

"We're married," I uttered.

"What!?" Hawk said non to quietly, "When!?"

"What's going on?" Istas asked, she had walked up just in time to hear Hawk exclaim. As she sat down Hawk said, "She says she married Kocoum!"

Her response seemed like an echo, "When!?" I sighed and looked at them with a glare.

"This is exactly why I did not tell you that I got married two days ago. We didn't want to make a big deal out of it 'cause Pocahontas and John were planning this big feast. We got permission from Powhatan and Kekata, and now we're married." They were stunned. Then Hawk got this look on his face that I immediately did not like.

"So have you guys had sex yet?" he asked. I blushed like the virgin I still was.

"No!" I exclaimed, "He grudgingly asked John what the custom of the English is when they get married, because he knew that I still care about my English heritage even though I haven't considered myself English in years. He wanted to tell Chesmu that we were getting married first. And I thought it was incredibly sweet of him."

Istas took in her stride and said, "When are you leaving?" Hawk on the other hand was still fixated on the sex.

"He's really gonna wait that long?" he asked right after Istas finished.

I pursed my lips and said, "He already went. So yes he has waited that long."

"So John's not the only one getting some action tonight," Hawk cracked. I kept quite; Istas came to my aid and said:

"Thomas will be perfect for him."

"I completely agree. Maybe they will mellow each other out," I agreed. We all laughed. I glanced over and saw Kocoum looking at us. I smiled back: wide and unreserved.

We were all there for Thomas's and Hawk's wedding. It took Thomas awhile to accept what he was and longer still that he loved Hawk. What I remembered, and John told me, about England it was a surprise he even considered sharing Hawk's bed.

Istas told us she would be back for our first child. I had explained that I was barren, but she just smiled and said she would be back.
