Hermione was in tears as she looked at Draco. She couldn't believe he was down on one knee, in front of her, in Paris.
Draco stared up at her, holding his breath. He couldn't tell how she felt. It seemed like an eternity before Hermione spoke to him.
"Yes. Yes, Draco, I will marry you."
Draco smiled widely and slipped the ring onto her finger. He stood up and wrapped his arms around her and twirled her. He put her down and kissed her passionatly.
They pulled apart and stared into each others eyes. Draco smiled at his fiance.
"You have made me so happy."
Hermione smiled back. "Same here."
"I believe another night in Paris to celebrate is in order." Draco said.
"As do I." Hermione replied.
Draco ordered champagne from room service and the two sat around the balcony table celebrating into the early hours.
The next day Hermione and Draco sat in the lobby of a prestigious art gallery in Paris waiting to meet the director.
"Are you nervous?" Draco asked.
"Of course I am. I've never had my paintings appraised or even looked at before." She said nervously.
"I'm certain they will like them. Don't worry." Draco squeezed her hand.
"Miss Granger. Mr. Davenport will see you now." The receptionist called out.
"Good luck, love."
Hermione picked up her case and followed the receptionist into a large office. Sitting behind the desk was a older man. He looked up when he heard her enter.
"Hello, Miss Granger. Have a seat please."
She nodded and sat, placing he case at her feet.
"So, Miss Granger, tell me about these paintings. Mr. Galier made high recommendations in your behalf."
"I mostly do landscapes but I have done a few potrait scenes as well. I've been painting for twelve or thirteen years now. To be honest, this is the first time I've had anyone look at them." Hermione replied honestly.
Mr. Davenport tapped his fingers together and looked at her over his glasses. "Well, lets have a look then shall we?" He stood and walked around his desk.
Hermione picked her case up as she stood. She laid the case on the table behind her and opened it. She took out three paintings and set them side by side. Mr. Davenport eyed them carefully, looking for any flaws or reproductions. He felt the entracite lines painted on the canvass.
"What do you call these?" He asked pointing.
"Evening Manor, Early Sunrise Manor and Amelia." Hermione replied.
"Where did you get the ideas?"
"My fiance lives in a manor in London in the country side and the views are quite beautiful. The little girl is my niece. She loves flowers so it was a perfect scene."
"These are amazing. The paint strokes, every detail is amazing. Its a surprise that no one has came along and picked you up. I'd like to put these from you to put in my gallery. I'll give you money for them there. I have a galla coming up and I'm positive someone would love to buy one or two. You get all funds from your paintings and a spot in the Daily Prophet. What do you say?" Mr. Davenport turned to look at her.
"Oh, my, yes I'd love to have them in your galla." Hermione beamed.
"Excellent. Now, lets get things in order."
An hour later Draco sat in the lobby, looking through a magazine. He was nervous as to what would happen. He looked up and out walks Hermione.
"I take it it went well?" Draco ased seeing the smile on her face.
"It did. He is putting all three in his galla to see if they will sell and he paid me 125 Galleons a piece just to have them in his galla." She squealed happily.
"That's wonderful love." Draco hugged her.
"Lets get back home. I'm famished."
"Alright." Draco took her hand and led her to the floo and away they went.
*******
It had been three weeks since Hermione and Draco came home from Paris. They had yet to tell their friends of the engagement. Hermione planned a small dinner party to make the announcement of the engagement and her galla.
"Hermione! Where is my grey slacks!" Draco yelled from across the hall.
"I don't know!"
"Well you was last to have them! Where are they?" Draco stormed over to her room.
"I put them in the wash and had them pressed and dried then brought back to your room." Hermione stepped out of her closet to look at him.
"Well they aren't there now."
Hermione began giggling at the sight of Draco before her.
"What's so funny?" Draco asked annoyed.
"Just how you look over a pair of slacks." She managed out.
"It's not funny. You misplaced them."
Hermione stopped laughing. "Me? Misplaced them? I didn't do such a thing!" She stormed across the hall and into his closet.
As Draco walked in a pair of grey slacks hit him. "There! You just didn't look hard enough."
Draco went to say something but Hermione stormed out. She went back to her room and slammed the door. She stood in her closet and slowly began to laugh.
"Mia? What's funny?" Draco asked coming into her closet.
"We just had an argument...over...your pants!"
Draco smiled. "We did, didn't we?" He began laughin with her.
They sat on the floor laughing together for a few minutes.
"We better get ready. Everyone will be here soon." Hermione said, wiping away the tears that made their way out.
Draco nodded and gave her a kiss before leaving for his room. Hermione dressed in her pink party dress that she bought in Paris. It had wide cap sleeves with jewels at the base of the sleeves, a sweetheart neckline and flowex to her calves. She paired it with a pair of white heels. She kept her makeup and hair simple.
Draco dressed in his grey slacks and greed button down shirt, dragon hide shoes and a dress jacket. He gave up long ago on tryin to tame his now thick hair. He walked out of his room to meet with his finace and go greet their guest. He smiled at her beauty and walked with her down to the living room.
It wasn't five minutes later Ginny and Blaise came thru. They all hugged each other.
"I love that dress, Hermione!" Ginny sqealed.
"Thanks. I got it in Paris. Next time I'm there, I'll remember to get you one."
"Would you?" Ginny asked hopefully.
Hermione laughed. "Yes."
"Yay!" Ginny sqealed.
"How about a drink?" Draco offered.
"Yes, please." Blaise replied.
"None for me, thanks." Ginny replied.
"Since when does Ginny Zabini turn down a drink?" Draco asked as he poured his and Blaise's.
"I just don't want one right now." She simply stated.
Hermione eyed her friend. She knew something was up with Ginny. Then a thought came to her mind. "Ginerva, is there something I must know?"
"No. Why would there be?" Ginny asked nervousy.
"Well, for starters, you turned down a drink, when you landed you looked like you might be sick, and third, and to be honest, your chest has gotten bigger since three weeks after your honeymoon." Then Hermione gasped. "You're pregnant!"
"Ginny smiled. "Dang. Can't get anything by you. Yes, we are expecting. I am currently two months. Due around the first of February."
Hermione took her turn to squeal. "Oh Ginny! I'm so happy for you!" She hugged her friend.
"All the more reason to celebrate." Draco said, raising his glass. "Congrats mate." He shook Blaise's hand.
"Thanks. And what else are we celebrating?"
Before anyone could speak, the fireplace grew green nd out stepped the three Potters. As soon as she landed, Amelia immediatly ran to Hermione and Draco.
"Hey munchkin." Draco said as he picked her up and kissed her cheek.
"Hi Uncle Dra. I missed you." Amelia hugged him. "Can I tell them mummy? Please?"
"Tell us what sweetie?" Hermione asked, looking at Harry and Jasmine.
Jasmine looked at Harry who nodded. "Alright love. You may tell them."
"I'm going to be a big sister!" Amelia squealed happily.
"Congrats! When?" Everyone said at once.
"We are due in February." Jasmine said happily.
"Looks like we will have two new additions coming." Ginny replied.
"Two?" Harry asked confused. "Gin? Are you pregnant?"
Ginny nodded. "Looks like we all were busy these last months." She joked.
"Well, that's wonderful!" Jasmine said.
"All of this happy news deserves a toast. But, before we do, Hermione and I would like to announce that we are engaged."
"Yes, the untamable Malfoy asked me in Paris. Our news sounds so small to everyone elses." Hermione laughed.
"Oh, Hermione! I'm so happy for you!" Jasmine and Ginny both grabbed Hemione into a hug.
"About time, mate. We were beginning to wonder if you were ever going to marry her. Took you long enough." Blaise clapped his friend on the back.
"So do I get to be flowers again?" Amelia asked.
"Yes, sweetie. You get to be flower girl again." Hermione said rubbing her nose on the child's.
Everyone talked throughout dinner about baby plans and wedding plans. Draco and Hermione settled on January 1st as their day. Ginny and Jasmine began planning everything from flowers to colors.
Hermione couldn't help but laugh at her best friends. Her and Draco still had to discuss what they wanted but the two women replied, "We've been waiting far too long to not start."
After dinner everyone sat around in the drawing room. The men having a drink while Amelia played on the floor with her miniature Quidditch toys. The women were discussing babies and weddings.
"Oh, I almost forgot." Draco spoke up. "Mia has three of her paintings being feautured in a galla in Paris."
"When did this happen?" Harry asked.
"Draco suggested I take some on our trip. I met with Mr. Davenport and he loved them all, paid me forthem being in the galla and will give me my due credit when and if they are sold." Hermione explained.
"Which ones did he choose?" Jasmine asked.
"Evening Manor, Early Sunrise and Amelia."
"Amelia?" Jasmine asked puzzled.
"Yes. I painted her in the garden of flowers when she stayed. That was the one he loved the most."
"Well, congrats 'Mione. When is the galla?" Harry asked giving her a hug.
"Three weeks. I can invite anyone. And I want all of you, Amelia included."
"I get to go to Paris? Mummy, Daddy, please can I go?" Amelia gave her puppy dog eyes.
"Yes, you can go." Harry replied.
"Yay!"
Everyone started laughing. "Looks like we are all going to Paris." Draco said.
"I think so. It also seems it is time to go." Jasmine replied.
"For us as well." Blaise said.
Everyone said their goodbyes before stepping into the fireplace. Hermione and Draco waved them off before heading upstairs to ready themselves for bed.
Hermione slipped into her Slytherin green and silver pajamas and crawled in her bed. Not long after Draco came in sporting flannel pants and a white shirt. He climbed in beside her and pulled her to him.
"Alot of news today." Draco said nuzzling into her hair.
"It was. Made our news seem small."
"Ours was surprising is all. They were happy for us."
"I guess you're right." Hermione turned over to face Draco. She kissed him and looked into his eyes. "I love you."
Draco smiled. "I love you, too"
They both drifted off into a peaceful sleep.
