The Immortals, Tamora Pierce
Chapter 21: Might Be A Cold
As it is the age of technology, Daine was advised and taught by her manager and publicist to make use of the latest social marketing app to further boost her popularity, or in her case, awareness of the animals that she would like to share with the public. Though it was slow at first, and consistently, as she grew used to using them and showing what the public would want whilst sharing other information as well about the animals that she filmed.
It has been a while since she has her accounts, but mainly because there are others that are also helping her to update it, Daine did not really pay it much mind, until she was told to start managing her own account so that people could get to know her and have an interest in what she is doing. At first she had been slow and sluggish, but once she got used to it, Daine started using it a few times a day, just to do some updates. Her publicist and manager would both also have access to that account, just in case she got lazy to manage it, or too busy, then they would step in to help manage it.
And because they had been out of touch with one another for a while, Numair found her account instead and followed her there, at least in some way, keeping track of her movement even though there are easier way, like seeking her out.
"This is a surprise," Daine says as she smiled at both Kaddar and Lindhall who were waiting for her in the café of the zoo where she is helping with the shift of a few young animals that are in the midst of being arranged for a transfer. She was called in for her expertise to help with the project and spread her knowledge with the younger staff and to aid with the projects that they are handling at the moment.
"What brings you two here?" Daine asked as she motioned for them to take a seat, as she raised a hand and made a motion to one of the staffs there to bring 3 drinks for them.
"Nothing much really, we were curious of your working environment," Kaddar said with smiles as he looked about the place.
"We heard that you would be around for a while before returning to the wilderness to continue with your research," Lindhall said as he looked at her with a kindly smile upon his face.
"Yes, there are some things here that requires my attention," Daine confirms his information as she took a sip of her glass of water.
"I don't think you two came here to do small talks," Daine said with a smile as she looked through them.
"No, not really," Lindhall returned that smile as he looked at her. "There's been an interest lately in the understanding of animals better, and there seem to be a lack of those amongst the faculty with the experience and expertise that you have,"
Daine looked at him expectantly, the smile on her face unwavering as she listened intently.
"So we would like to invite you, if your schedule and time permits to join us for a semester, just as an introductory class to educate our students," Lindhall added with smiles as he leaned in a little in his seat, a little more anxious in knowing her answer.
"Sure, I'll let my manager know and have her move my schedule about and maybe we can set a date later once she is done seeing the schedule," Daine said as though it was the simplest decision.
"Thank you, we're really appreciate it, what with your busy schedule and all" Lindhall says with a smile as he looked at Daine.
"Don't worry too much about it, I will do what I can to help pass on the knowledge and awareness onto any one that are interested in the animal's well-being," Daine replied as she took a quick glance to the watch that she is wearing on her wrist.
"I'm sorry, but I've to go and check on the new animals coming in," Daine says with an apologetic look upon her face as she started to stand.
"Do stay to continue enjoying the food and drinks here, you can just put it under my name," Daine added on as she smiled at them.
The two males stood as they watched her leave with smiles upon their face until she was out of their sight before they took to their seat again.
"Do you really think it is a good idea to hide about our Gift from her?" Kaddar asked with a sigh as he turned his attention back to Lindhall, glancing in the direction of where Daine had left.
"Base on the recent intel, I think it is safer that we keep her close and safe," Lindhall said as he too sigh at the headache of things.
In recent weeks, there have been those others from where they come from, started to show signs of restless movement, which is something that they fear if they were to cross over to try something funny or to break the law between both of their World, and risk their exposure to the other.
"Let's hope that it is nothing serious, it has been getting rather tense on our side as well," Kaddar input, fingers reaching up to fiddle with the ruby drop earring on his lobe.
"Don't worry too much, the least we can do for now is to keep a closer watch on her for Numair before he returns," Lindhall says with a sigh as he turned to Kaddar with a tired sigh.
"For now, let's keep it from her unless she really needs to know of it, or when she accepts that part of her that magic does exist in this world as well," Lindhall says pushing his chair back as he stood, with Kaddar following suit as they paid for the bill despite of Daine's good intention of having it places under her account.
"Let's hope that he returns earlier than planned," Lindhall says with another silent sigh as he led the way out.
As though sensing someone speaking about him, Numair sneezed a few times in a row as he paused in his steps of walking about the palace.
"Hmm…might be a cold," he commented beneath his breath before continue walking down the hallway towards the study of the castle where a meeting is awaiting him.

Thanks! I did try to add in breaks, though somehow it does not show here no matter how much I try to keep editing it in. I will keep in mind to return to change and edit them again when I redo parts of this story! I hope that you enjoy this new update. =)

Wow, that's really long a review.
I see where you are coming from on my mistakes and will make it a point to return to correct it, maybe not so soon as i might want to rewrite parts of this story as well, so maybe a little later? I do appreciate your contribution, it does help quite a lot in knowing where I made my mistakes. I will return to edit it soon, just after my hectic time period, been a little busy with work and life at the moment.
I do look forward to seeing another review from you to read your opinion and point out of my mistakes, and hope that you enjoy this new update. Take care! =)
