Chapter 21: What the Future Holds

Jack POV:

Soon enough, it was Elsa's third month of pregnancy. Making it six months until we met our newest family member. Elsa grew sicker, but sucked it up for the sake of me and the baby. She was so strong, despite the killer morning sickness and constant doctor visits, she still wanted to go to work. Our child would have the hardest working mom on the planet. We had picked out the room nearest to our bedroom to convert into a nursery. Elsa, being the more creative one of our duo, had already began sketching out what she thought the room should be like. I was so proud of Elsa, she was just the loveliest mother a child could have. When we announced it to our family, everyone was ecstatic to meet our baby. But no one was more excited than we were.

Her belly has just now started swelling, and while it wasn't completely swollen, it was beginning to get rounder and larger as the days passed. Soon enough, everyone in the company began to notice and we felt it was necessary to share the news with everyone.

I got into bed, and Elsa lay next to me.

"Elsa, I had been thinking. What do you want to name the baby?"

I placed my hands over her stomach and rested my chin on the top of her head.

She smiled, "Well, if it's a boy, I want to name it Jackson, like you. But if it's a girl, I like Emily"

"So you want a Jack Jr. running around the house?" I grinned

"He'll be a handsome baby boy." She nodded

"I agree, I really hope the baby picks up after me." I said, agreeing.

She scrunched her nose, "No, they'll be stubborn and immature. I hope it takes my characteristics."

"Bossy and annoying?" I asked

She slapped my arm, to which I laughed.

"I'm just kidding." I said, kissing the top of her head "Whatever our child looks like or acts like, they'll be perfect."

She smiled, "What do you want to name it?"

"I like Olivia if it's a girl, and Elliott if it's a boy." I said

She nodded, "Olivia is pretty."

"But we'll decide once we find out the gender of the baby." She continued

She was right after all, you can't decide to name the baby Jackson and then find out it's a girl.

"I love you." I whispered before we both fell asleep.

2 months later...

"Elsa! I called, "the car is loaded, and we need to go!"

"I'm coming!" She shouted

Today was Elsa's fifth monthly check up. We would find out the baby's gender today. On Anna's recommendation, we went with the doctor which cared for her during her pregnancy, Dr. Pabbie

Of course, Elsa and I were ecstatic to see our little one and finally decide on a name.

Elsa scurried downstairs and met me at the front door. Her stomach had swollen a lot more over the past two months, and you could definitely tell she was pregnant. She walked past me and boarded the car, me following behind her. When I was seated and we were buckled up, we were on our way.

Once we arrived at the facility, I helped Elsa get out of the car and we walked hand in hand to the waiting room. I checked her in, and took a seat next to her on the sofa. She held on tight to my hand, and caressed her belly with her free time.

"Are you excited?" I asked

She nodded, "Yeah, we're really close to finally having our baby in our hands, Jack."

I kissed the palm of her hand, "I'm excited too."

Soon enough, a nurse called us in. I walked behind Elsa to a dimly lit room with a few chairs, a bed and a monitor. I watched as Elsa lay on the bed at the nurse's order.

"The doctor will be with you in just a second." The nurse said and left the room.

Elsa and I were alone, and you could tell she was getting uneasy.

"Hey," I said "It'll be alright."

"I know." She nodded "Just a little anxious to see the baby."

I smiled, and nodded. After a few minutes, the doctor finally entered the room.

"Mr. and Mrs. Frost, how are you?" Dr. Pabbie greeted.

Elsa smiled, "We're great, and how have you been?"

Pabbie beamed, "Just wonderful."

He took a seat on a stool next to the bed and took a look at his chart. "Well, it looks like you're here to find out what the sex of the baby is, am I correct?"

I nodded, "Yes, sir."

He smiled, "Alright Elsa, just stay still. You know the routine."

She nodded and lifted up her shirt, revealing her bare belly. Dr. Pabbie rubbed some of the warm jelly on her stomach, our attention on the monitor. After a second, an image of the baby was on the screen. The doctor observed the monitor a little longer then smiled largely.

"Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Frost, you are going to have a baby girl."

I practically fell out of my chair. Our baby was going to be a girl!

"Oh my god." I said "That's great!"

Elsa and I were beaming as the doctor cleared her belly of the jelly, allowing her to put her shirt down. She stood and ran to me, and I crushed her in my tight embrace.

"We're having a baby girl!" She squealed

The doctor smiled, "I wish you the best for your family, thank you for stopping by."

We said our goodbyes and walked out of the doctor's office hand in hand. I paid for the services then we drove home.

Once we got home, Elsa walked inside of the house.

"So, now that we know it's a girl, what are we naming her?" Elsa asked

I shrugged, "Whatever it is, and it will be perfect."

"How about Olivia?" She asked

I smiled, "You like the name I picked out?"

"Yeah," she nodded "it's a cute name."

"How about Olivia Emily Frost." I asked

She nodded, "That sounds lovely."

Elsa placed a quick peck on my cheek then walked towards the door frame of the dining room.

"I'm going to go make dinner." She said

I nodded, "I think I'm going to call my dad, tell him the news."

She smiled, "Tell him I say hi."

I nodded again and plopped down on the sofa. I pulled out my cellphone and dialed dad's number.

"Hello?" I greeted when he picked up,

"Hey, son!" He said

"Hi dad, how've you been?" I asked

"Wonderful, how about you and Elsa?"

"We've been great too." I answered, "Actually, we have some news regarding Elsa and I's baby."

I could almost feel his smile press against the phone, "Well, what is it?"

"The doctor confirmed that we're going to have a girl." I announced

He laughed, "That's great, oh, you and Elsa must be so happy!"

"Yeah, dad, we're really excited."

"Speaking of you and Elsa." He said, "It'd be nice if you came down to Burgess sometime. It'd be nice to see my son and my daughter in law, we haven't seen each other in ages!"

"I'll talk to Elsa about it, it's her who has a harder time on the road, not me."

"Yeah, you're right. But it would be great if you could come. Tooth's been the most excited out of the trio."

I smiled, "I'll talk to Elsa, dad. I'll keep you updated."

"Okay, I'll see you soon, hopefully, Jack." He said

"Yeah, sleep well, dad." I said

And with that, he hung up.

I walked back to the dining room, and helped Elsa set up the table. She walked back to the kitchen briefly as I sat down on my chair. She came back with a plate of piping hot food, I thanked her and waited for her to sit down.

"So what did your dad say?" She asked

"He's happy" I said, "Also, I was thinking, we haven't been down to Burgess in a while. It'd be nice if we took a small vacation."

She sighed, "I don't know, Jack. You know I have a hard time with car rides, even worse if it's a six hour car ride."

"Yeah, I know." I said, "But still, my dad really misses us. And you've been cooped up in that office for months, it would be good for you and the baby if you took a rest."

She smiled as she pat her belly, "I guess you're right."

"So is that a yes?" I asked

"Yes." She said, "but only because I love your family so much."

"Thank you!" I cheered "I'll call my dad and tell him later."

"So when should we leave?" She asked me

"Well, whenever is fine. We have to ask Amanda if she's okay with taking care of the place for a few days." I said

"Wait, the building is closed on weekends, which is when we're going right?" She asked, "Jackson, how long are you planning to stay?"

"Four days at most, c'mon you see Anna all the time, I never see my family." I pleaded

"Just a Thursday, a Friday, a Saturday and a Sunday?" She asked

I nodded, "No more than that, and you can get back to work on Monday."

She sighed, "Fine. But you'll be the one to tell Amanda."

So that night, I called my dad and told him that we would be staying a few days next week. I was really excited to see my family again, and even though Elsa acted annoyed, I knew she was too.

Okay, so I'm REALLY REALLY sorry about not updating. I could've sworn I had posted this earlier, and I even finished chapter 22. *sad face*

Oh well, guess that means I can update again soon. Actually, my friends and I decided to put the book aside and work during summer. Which means, I have a lot of time to write for you guys. As I said before, I have tons of ideas for this fic and even new ones.

Actually, I have an announcement.

I recently began writing a new Flynnzel fic since someone had recommended i write one since nobody does anymore. The book is a modern AU and based on the Korean Drama "Fated to Love You" It's on Netflix, if you guys want to check it out. It's a really good drama and when I watched it, I thought it would be perfect for Eugene and Rapunzel :)

Love you all!

~Amy.
