Everything that happened next seemed to happen as if it were a blur. One second she was sitting next to Kaname and the next Shiki had her in his arms and they were both across the lawn so quickly that her head was swimming. "W-What-" Was all that she managed to get out when she heard some god awful racket before vaguely being able to make out the words, "Shiki get Lisa out of here now!" Being shouted by someone.

Shiki looked down at her for a moment and then the two of them vanished into the woods so quickly that before she could so much as demand what the hell was going on, she had passed out.

She wasn't aware of how much time passed nor where Shiki was taking her, much like she wasn't aware of them being joined by Rima and Ruka at some point. Nor the fact that Kaname was after them. However when she finally came to, she was lying on the ground next to a stream with Shiki's jacket draped over her and Rima and Ruka were standing a few feet away, watching the forest for any signs of trouble.

Groaning, Lisa slowly sat up holding her aching head and wondering what was going on when Shiki stepped out of the woods a few feet away on the opposite side of the stream and said, "You're finally awake. How's your head?"

"It hurts. What did you do, slam my skull against a few trees?" His lips quirked slightly in amusement despite the accusation. It was good to know that his running at such a high speed away from the academy hadn't done any permanent damage to Lisa's brain.

He would have missed her snarky come backs whenever she got riled at him if it had.

"No. But I'm glad that your awake now."

"That's nice... Could someone please tell me what the hell is going on now?" Lisa finally demanded as she vaguely recalled the events that had led to them being in the forest.

"Kaname overindulged." Rima said blankly as she turned her head to look at the human ward of their king. The girl had a confused expression on her pretty face, meaning that she hadn't understood the significance of what it meant when Kaname overindulged in alcohol.

Looking to Shiki for help, the vampire sighed and reached out and very gently used his fingertips to turn Lisa's head so that she was facing him as he quietly explained, "When a vampire indulges in alcohol, usually it's to take the edge off of their hunger or blood lust. However overindulging is an entirely different matter. Depending on the class of vampire one is dealing with, it has very similar effects to those found in humans who overindulge. Hunger, desire, the lack of inhibitions and the incredibly overwhelming desire to sate each of them one way or another. Kaname knows better, however lately he must have been forgetting to use the blood tablets that keep us from preying on humans otherwise we wouldn't be out here now trying to protect you from him."

"So your saying that Kaname wants my blood?" Lisa asked trying to make sense of everything as Ruka scoffed at her and then said.

"Honey he wants more than just your blood. He wants your body too."

"Huh?" Lisa squeaked unable to wrap her mind around the idea of Kaname wanting both her blood and her body. Wait didn't wanting someone's body mean sex? She wondered before turning a nice shade of red and squeaking again.

"Ruka! That is uncalled for. Kaname would never want such things from Lisa if he were in his right mind." Shiki growled out.

"Don't kid yourself Shiki. Everyone knows that it is a fairly common occurrence for a noble to bed their wards at one point or another. Some even mate and marry their wards to keep them by their sides and to have their help continue their bloodlines. Kaname apparently isn't any different, though he hides it as well as he can." Ruka said as she glanced at Lisa again. She didn't know why she was being so bitchy about the current situation, after all, it wasn't like it was Lisa's fault that Kaname wanted her. Everyone in the night class had been able to tell for a little while now, that Kaname was attempting to hide his feelings for his human ward.

The girl in question, had never done anything to discourage nor totally encourage his attentions romantically. Which was something that Ruka and the other girls from the night class thought was a mite...well...odd. But from the way the girl acted she didn't seem to even notice that Kaname was a true male in every sense of the word.

It was more like...how should she put it? Lisa acted as if he were an asexual being. Neither wholly male nor female, merely something caught between the two. In fact part of the reason that Ruka had mentioned nobles taking their wards to their bed, being a common practice was so that the girl would open her eyes a bit to the possibility and not let anything hold her back.

"I-Is that true?" Lisa asked curiously as she looked from one face to another before Shiki finally sighed and muttered,

"Yes. It's true."

"I see. And what if I wanted him too?" It was an easy enough question for them to answer, however...

"It's not so much whether or not you want him in the same way. Right now it's more about your safety and well being. If he got his hands on you while he's currently..."

"Drunk." Lisa supplied helpfully, earning another faint lip quirk from Shiki.

"Yeah that, we worry that if he got his hands on you he might injure you or worse."

"Because of the lack of inhibitions."

"Yeah."

"I see. And that's...bad?"

"Unless you want to wind up either a vampire like us or dead- yeah, that's bad."

Lisa sighed, she had been about to tell them to hand her over to Kaname and let him do whatever if it calmed him down, but now...well now she just wanted to live for a little while longer. Not that she totally believed that Kaname would actually kill her- at least not in the conventional sense anyways.

With the sex however...well...it was perhaps both the best and the worst way to go. She could just imagine her conversation with the powers that be on the other side.

Placing a hand over her mouth to stifle the slightly hysterical sounding giggle that escaped her, she couldn't help but have the three vampires zero in on her with curious eyes.

"Is something wrong?" Rumi asked.

"No." Lisa squeaked, trying to force back her laughter. Nothing was wrong unless one considered being bow legged when they met their maker as wrong. And it was wrong. It was incredibly wrong. However despite that, she just couldn't seem to stop her laughing.

Kaname was hidden somewhere above the small group led by his younger cousin, Shiki, watching the happenings with a slightly peeved expression on his face. This was the group keeping his ward away from him. Shiki, Rima and Ruka? Really?

And why the hell were they telling his ward such things anyways? He'd been listening to the conversation for a while now and had concluded that they weren't a hundred percent wrong, but they weren't exactly right either.

He hadn't been forgetting to use the blood tablets lately. If he had been, he would have attacked Lisa when she had cut herself with his letter cutter. No- he had overindulged in an effort to forget the smell and longing her felt to taste his ward.

Obviously though, that hadn't worked well since he was out in the forest after practically crashing poor Ichijo's birthday party in an effort to get to Lisa.

But Ruka had been right about one thing, he wanted his ward. Not merely as a means of sexual relief or a food source- but because she was his. Every instinct that he possessed told him so. Loudly and quite often. As many times as a thousand times a day or more.

He couldn't quite pin point the exact reason for this. Lisa was somewhat more difficult to take care of than other females he was acquainted with. In fact, up until she had began her work as a craftsman/woman- whatever- he had taken care of everything for her.

Providing her with every little thing that she may have needed or wanted along with his protection.

A normal female would have happily continued to let him do so while they lived in the luxuries that he provided for them. But this wasn't so with Lisa. She considered the funds that he had used in the beginning to be a loan that she would pay back, and of course nothing he said or did would or could sway her.

She had established her own way, forcing him to see her as her own person. And he respected that. Hell, he found it attractive in a female to do as she had. And he knew how hard she had been working to establish her own way so that he wouldn't have to worry about her. Which left him in a little bit of a lurch.

Especially since he had decided months ago that he would somehow find a way to make her his mate.

If he couldn't provide for her then all he could do was protect her and his claim on her. But even he knew that that was strenuous at best. If he ever found her looking in the direction of another male- human or vampire he was going to seriously lose his temper and make his competition for her affections disappear.

Speaking of disappearing, perhaps it was time for him to take back his ward. Stepping off of the tree limb that he'd been standing on, he let himself free fall for several seconds before he was to land on the ground and then used one of his more creepy vampire powers to break his body apart, and send the molecules streaming across the way so that he could reform himself behind his ward, one arm slipping around her torso as he stared at his cousin and the other two from the top of her head through crimson eyes.

"I believe you lot have kept what is mine from me long enough." He said as he kissed Lisa's temple a moment before vanishing into thin air again, this time taking Lisa with him.
