Tony lay on top of Jeanne protecting her from the flames that engulfed the room.
"Are you alright Jeanne?"
"Yea I think so? Tony what the heck happened? You're covered in severe burns." Jeanne said.
"Come on we need to get out of here." Tony said helping her up and leading her out of the now burning tavern.
"Doris what happened? Did the old stove finally catch fire?" Jeanne asked.
"Very funny Jeanne. No, the fire didn't start in the kitchen it started upstairs no doubt in one of the bedrooms. Did you let someone smoke in your room again Jeanne?" Doris asked.
"No I didn't Doris and you know I don't smoke!"
"Hey Doris have you seen Jethro anywhere?" Tony asked having his own suspicions about this fire.
"No I haven't seen him." Doris replied.
Tony was silent for a moment or two as he thought about the last time he saw him, which was during Jeanne's performance. After that he was gone and nobody had seen him. Then there was the fire that mysteriously happened. Tony stopped in thought
Jethro wouldn't deliberately burn the tavern down would he?
Tony shook his head at the thought what reason would Jethro have for burning down the tavern? Jethro has been acting rather strange these last couple of days or more it's high time he had a talk with him. He needs to stop messing with him and get to work on breaking the curse that he has, after all that's why he came to him in the first place. Not to mention his father will not be pleased with his slacking off and if his father got ahold of Jethro about his work it would not be pretty.
"Jeanne, Doris I will be more than happy to help fund you in building a new tavern." Tony said.
"You're too kind your highness, but I believe this is a sign for me to try something different." Doris said.
"Aren't you getting married this weekend?" Jeanne asked.
Tony made a disgusted look at the reminder of his upcoming marriage. Jeanne couldn't help but laugh at his reaction, which Doris quickly joined in.
"Honestly Tony, marriage isn't that bad it's actually nice to have someone to come home every night to laugh and talk. I spent fifty years married to my husband and it was the best years of my life until his passing." Doris said.
"That's easy for you to say you got to pick who you want to marry. I don't get that option! Being a prince I'm forced into a marriage to a princess I never even met the only thing I know of her is that she's beautiful." Tony said.
"Well, if you had the option who would you marry?" Doris asked.
"Huh…?" Tony asked taken aback by the question. Nobody has ever asked him that before.
"I…I really don't know." Tony finally replied not having an answer to Doris's question.
"Well, I better go find Jethro. Are you going to be okay you two?"
"We'll be fine Anthony, go have a word with that nice man." Doris said with a smile.
Tony gave a nod before he headed off back to the castle.
Doris just shook her head and chuckled.
Jeanne looked on confused. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, what was all that about?"
"What do you mean Jeanne?"
"Alright Doris, spill you've got some juicy gossip now spill what's going on."
"Isn't it obvious Jeanne? Tony is infatuated with the man." Doris replied.
Jeanne was silent for a moment. He did talk about the man a lot when he came to visit her in her room. "So, Tony is in love with the magician then?"
"It would seem so, but you know how Tony is, rather thick headed and doesn't know a good thing when he has it. A bad trait he inherited from his father no doubt. Now then, I best be moving along what are you going to do Ms. Jeanne?"
"I haven't decided yet."
Jethro stormed into the castle clearly upset. The servants stayed clear of him as he stormed upstairs. Queen Leah spotted the young man just what could have happened to get Jethro so upset? Abby had told her that he and her son went out to check out the town. Just what did her son do to the poor man?
Jethro went into Tony's bedroom to pack up what little supplies he had. The plants he collected to help break Tony's curse lay on the desk, all they would need is to mix these plants with a few miscellaneous things and have Tony take it and it should break his damn curse. Any magician could do it.
He was done though. He looked at the sword that was the reason Tony came to him in the first place. He let out a sneer as he tossed it across the room.
Tony headed into the castle only to have the servants come up to him. "What are you doing?" He asked as he was being felt up by the servants.
"Taking your measurements of course for your new suit for the wedding." Paula said.
"Tony what on earth happened to you? You have some serious burns." Wendy said.
"I'm fine!" Tony snapped as he moved away from the servants and headed upstairs.
He came to his room and turned the knob only to find it locked. Tony banged on the door.
"Jethro open this door!"
"Go away Tony!" Jethro replied.
"It's my room! Open this door so we can talk!"
"There's nothing to talk about leave me alone Tony!"
"Nothing to talk about! Come out of there right now."
"No."
"You better come out or I'll break down the door!" Tony said with a growl.
Tim and Abby came over to see what the heck was going on. Tony turned to the both of them. "Tim break this door down." Tony ordered.
"Break it down? I think it might be best if the two were away from each other for the time being to calm down." Tim suggested.
That only irritated Tony more as he continued to bang on the door and yell.
Abby looked on in shock she has never seen Tony act this way before in all the years she worked here.
"Anthony Michael Dinozzo!" his mother yelled at him as she showed up to see what the issue was.
"What!"
"Tony, leave Jethro alone for the time being you need to calm down, and you need to go see Dr. Mallard about those burns. Abby take Tony to see Dr. Mallard." Leah said.
Abby nodded as she led Tony down to see Dr. Mallard. Tony let out an agitated groan as he reluctantly went with Abby.
"What the hell is all the commotion?" King Anthony asked as he joined his wife.
"Nothing really it seems just an argument between are son and the magician."
"What did the magician do now?"
"I don't know."
King Anthony grumbled to himself at not being let into the loop at what was going on here. "Anthony dear don't you have wedding preparations to get done?"
"Oh right I was supposed to have a meeting with King Eli soon." He said before heading off.
Leah let out a sigh as she went to the bedroom door and knocked gently. "Go away Tony!" Jethro said again.
She pulled a pin from her hair and used it to unlock the door. She gracefully walked inside to see Jethro curled up on the bed hugging a pillow. He turned to see Queen Leah and attempted to compose himself not an easy feat when you've been kicked to the curb as it were. She came over and sat down on the bed beside him.
"Jethro…" she began not quite sure how to talk to the man. "You're overly emotional this can't be good for the baby. Now why don't you tell me what my son did to you that made you lock yourself in his room?"
Jethro ran his hand over his swelling abdomen as he tried to calm down. "I can't."
Leah watched him carefully for a few minutes. He was hiding something what she didn't know but she was going to find out.
"Jethro, if you don't mind me asking, tell me more about this man who knocked you up."
"I already told you your highness. He's someone I can't have because he is already involved with someone else."
Leah frowned, this was going to be harder then she thought. "Jethro, would the father of the baby be my son Tony?"
"What? What would give you that idea your majesty?" Jethro asked nervous now.
"Oh I don't know maybe it's the way you two act around each other. But that's silly isn't it? For it to be Tony you'd have to…" she said pausing as she thought about how far along Jethro was.
Well, within the time frame that Tony was with Jethro added up to about how far along Jethro was in the pregnancy. No it didn't seem quite right Tony was a ladies man much like his father. Although, the two would make a cute couple and she'd be a grandmother. She shook her head to get her mind out of the gutter she really needed to stop hanging around Abigail.
She came back to reality to see Jethro in a corner hunched over holding his stomach.
"Jethro…"
"Ahh…it hurts!" Jethro cried out.
"Easy there Jethro I am going to take you down to see Dr. Mallard." Leah said.
Jethro nodded slowly. "Am I going to lose my baby?"
"No of course not! Come on now." Leah said as she took him to see Dr. Mallard.
