Loving-The-Originals Thank you so much I really appreciate the kind words.
Mah Luka Thanks so much. Sorry for the long wait. Life is getting a little hectic the more summer approaches.
Glarinetta Not bad ideas. You'll just have to wait and see how keira's life turns out.
ZodiacsKlaroline I have no idea what the full name should be,which brings me to:
Since I don't want to give the child a totally ridiculous name I'm asking the readers (if it isn't much of a bother) to please give me
some middle name suggestions!
Thanks to all my reviewers and readers. You all make writing worthwhile.
Enjoy! !
Three weeks and six days since Keira was born. And in that time the Original family has seen very little of the newborn. Even though after the delivery Niklaus immediately went to retrieve her and Caroline from the hospital.
Nobody saw much of the blonde either. Once hated being stuck up in her
room, the witch fully renovated her floor of the house to be completely dedicated to the brunette she was now bathing.
Caroline Forbes was very protective of the child. No one was allowed in or out of her room which housed baby. No one got to hold or see the baby better yet get any updates about her health.
The housekeepers were always on their toes, dutifully waiting on the outside of the doors for orders from their boss.
Three weeks and six days and the baby managed to change everything, including Caroline's shallow look at the world.
She was always under the impression that babies always came out beautiful. Kiera was many things but when she arrived on earth beautiful wasn't one of them.
For one she had hair all over, the part of the cord left from cutting the umbilical cord slowly shriveled everyday until falling off (that was one of the only times she left the baby with a housekeeper) and little Kiera sometimes puked up blood. Which led to dozens of nurses and doctors to drift in and out of the house prompting everyone downstairs to wonder what happened upstairs.
After a week with the child Caroline's uppity attitude slowly drifted away. But her controlling and over thinking behavior stayed.
Now she was waiting for the scarring to heal before venturing back to Mystic Falls .
Sophie was freed from interrogation a short while after Caroline's return. Though there was no glimpse of the once pregnant blonde but she knew very well the baby was born.
Even though she narrowly escaped death after meddling with the life of the child . Sophie knew she still had to find away to get the child.
It was their last hope.
And they needed that last hope. The ancestors were sending signs dropping names. They needed the child gone, it was the only way to get her niece back.
"Soph you want some tea" Sabine called to her from the hallway.
"I'm fine"
That was a complete lie. Her nose was burning and her stomach churned
now and then.
But low and behold Sabine entered with a tray full of goodies and tea.
"We need to fatten you up" she sang cheerfully.
Sophie rolled her eyes at the comment and reached for a pastry.
"So baby Klaus is here and we don't want Klaus here what to do what to do" Sabine thought out loud.
Sabine snapped her fingers "Rebekah probably would know seeing as she
wants him gone so bad"
"Yeah well Rebekah isn't that loyal of a person so now we focus on you
getting the baby"
"How she's probably under lock and key"
"Cant you use some spell to levitate her over here or something"
"We can't do that were witches not wizards and I don't know how this connection even works anymore" Sophie admitted sadly.
"If you took the spawn from Hayley you can take it from Caroline"
"Yeah but I took her out of Hayley physically" the witch retorted.
Sophie thought for a moment then came to a conclusion.
Caroline let out a content smile as she rocked back and forth on the wooden chair smiling down at Kiera.
"You're getting so big on me " she cooed tickling the child's stomach.
The baby smiled broadly and grabbed the witches finger.
Caroline never wanted the moment to end. But Keira was not her daughter and even though for some strange reason Hayley wasn't here now soon she'll turn up.
"Ms Forbes, Doctor Stanley is here for Kiera's check up" a housekeeper called softly. None of the staff were allowed to knock or yell anywhere within a radius of the room. Nadia was expelled after forgetting that rule.
Caroline rose up from the chair letting her cardigan fall against her gray jeans.
The witches waltzed out the now open door. Her eyes on the baby the whole time as the two drifted down the stairs and into the living room where everyone was waiting.
"Ms Forbes pleasure to meet you" a large man greeted. He reminded her
of Doctor Dolittle. He held his and out for a shake but all Caroline did was glare until the hand was tucked safely behind his back.
The witch ran her eyes up and down his attire, checking for anything off. This family family was a hated after all.
"We'll start with the procedure now ma'am" a nurse stated coming to stand next to the doctor.
Caroline handed the child over to the doctor and watched him walk off
into another room.
"Why is a DNA test necessary we know it's Hayley's" Caroline sighed away her rigid demeanor. She was left standing awkwardly at the edge of the room.
"We don't want to take a chance" Elijah answered from behind a laptop.
It was weird sight.
What would Klaus do if the child isn't his. Probably burn down the town in frustration. She would have laughed at the thought if she wasn't so in love with the child.
Instead .
Caroline rolled her eyes and stood perfectly still arms crossed
defensively in front of her.
"Don't worry Caroline everything will work out" a cool voice whispered to her.
She slowly turned hoping not to make a skeptical of herself and saw her mother in all her ghost glory floating in the hallway. She gave a wink before vanishing.
"Is everything alright love?" this time the voice speaking to her was Klaus
"Other than the fact that some doctors are rubbing their filthy hands
over a innocent child is fine" she answered sarcastically
"Don't worry I made sure they're using that nasty smelling soap you requested"
"That's supposed to make me feel better" Caroline raised an eyebrow.
It did sooth her a little that the Doctor was using her special soap imported from Caroline wouldn't let Klaus no that. Germs were a big no no.
"Caroline I'll assure you I'm trying to play as much of a role in that child's life as you are"
Hayley Marshall was on a mission. The werewolf wasn't sure of where she was going or what she was looking for but it was an adventure nevertheless .
Besides she thought this is how Indiana Jones went about it, find a map and set off on a world wind adventure. Honestly she wasn't familiar with Indiana Jones at all. The brunette was more of Tomb Raider kind of girl.
Hayley took one last look down at the map and carried on towards the X.
She shook her head at how childish the situation was. Following a map which was literally drawn with crayons to a big red X. Other than the bad drawing there was something off about the map.
There were coordinates instead of little spiraling dots. Landmarks and stars, whoever drew this up must have really wanted the receiver to find this place:
A cabin along a river.
"Here goes nothing" Hayley trudged through the mud over to the cabin.
She knocked carefully once on the porch then took a step back.
Seconds later the door was open and Hayley's cheek instantly turned rosy.
The man was beyond gorgeous. Tall tanned with a smooth skin and a
inviting grin. His black hair hung low but nothing compared to his
hypnotizing green eyes well maybe his chiseled chin and dimples.
Hayley turned away in sheer embarrassment.
"Um I'm sorry it's just I found a map that led me here"
She blushed even harder at how dumb the remark sounded.
Whoever he was let out a deep chuckle sending shivers up her spin.
"You must be Audrey's daughter" he said.
"Audrey as in my mother" Hayley answered back nervously.
"Yes ma'am" the man confirmed "why don't you come inside.
Hayley waited till she heard retreating footsteps to enter his home. She hoped her cheeks paled.
"I'm Julian, I knew the Labonair sisters well"
He gestured to a seat at the wooden table across from him.
"So you drew the map?"
"No that was your mother"
"This use to be the getaway spot, all the wolves came here to escape their folks"
Julian pointed to a bookcase of whiskey.
"So who are you trying to escape?"
The question left Hayley a little dumbfounded. She wasn't trying to
escape anything, she was looking for somebody actually.
"No one" the brunette murmured.
"Hmm so have you met your aunt"
Hayley nodded.
"Does she know you're here"
She shook her head no.
It didn't cross her mind to tell her aunt about her little adventure, she was grown woman and has been one for quite some time now .
"Interesting, let me let you in on a little secret do not no matter what let that woman in on any of your secrets"
"Um"
"You'll see she probably wants to use you for something so just don't trust her" he continued.
"I'll take your word for it" Hayley laughed nervously.
Her heart sank a little. Was this the reason why her aunt wanted her around so bad?
Another screwed up family.
The doctor came out the room with a sleeping baby in his arm. Elijah
instantly rushed over and took her from him. He gazed down adoringly at her.
Caroline on the other hand narrowed her eyes in concentration.
"Brother don't hold her all to yourself" Rebekah said breezing behind him.
Before Caroline knew it everyone including Klaus swarmed Elijah and were bantering over whose turn it was.
"I hope everyone washed their hands first with organic soap" the blonde called out to deaf ears.
Caroline had taken the initiative to restock some supplies in the house. The linen, cleaning products, rugs, squeaky doors, cosmetics.
"Rebekah stop" Davina shouted.
Before the witch could recant the baby's cries rang out high pitched and loud. She began to ring out of her aunt's hands.
Caroline was in Rebekah's proximity in matter of seconds, snatching the
child out her hand.
She began to sing softly and for a moment everyone was a little frightened but that turned into surprise as Caroline native tongue began to coo another language. Caroline began to sing in a series of
different languages.
The baby giggled as if she understood every word.
"Where were you" Hayley's aunt bellowed rushing down the steps and pulling her into a stiff embrace.
Hayley who wasn't sure if she should hug back so she stood completely still.
"Out on a midnight stroll"
Her aunt released her and scowled "I know they say walking is good for pregnancy but please let us know before you run off"
"Umm I'm not pregnant"
"What" the woman's eyes grew cold and hard.
"I'm not pregnant" Hayley repeated.
"Well if you aren't then where is the child" the woman stepped back in shock.
The brunette debated whether to tell her the truth. Julien told her not to but this was her aunt how could she not say anything.
The way she reacted just proved everything. Let the woman know everything before making a move. Yet why would she care about the hybrid baby.
"With the witches"
It never hurt to lie.
