A/N: I got in trouble for coming in fairly drunk after curfew so my laptop got taken for a few days. I wrote this chapter entirely on my iphone, wow. Anyway, I'm so tired and I have to wake up at 730 for my seven day briefing so minimal editing! Oh and this chapter gets really good HINT HINT.
Recap:
My heart slammed in my chest. My cheeks burned, and I knew he felt the warmth. I could feel my pulse beating in my neck. I fel embarrassed for doubting him before, yet still feared what he was capable of. He could betray his own father and brother and mother. What did I, a "half breed" have that his only family didn't. What could stop him from doing the same to me. But despite my body's reaction, and my brains fears, the words from my heart came easy.
"I love you too, Loki."
He kissed me again. "I am unequivocally yours."
I fell asleep smiling.
Chapter 19: Unhappy Endings
I awoke energized. Too energized. I felt over-charged, as if fire would burst from me at any moment. My head felt like a balloon, filled with too much air. Seconds from popping. It was unpleasant but not painful. But my neck did ache though, and my back cracked as I sat up. I must have been extremely tired to fall asleep on the hard, rocky, cave floor. Slowly, I moved my neck from side to side. Then in a full circle, attempting to relieve the ache. I stood and stretched my back.
"You're finally awake," my mother's voice came from behind me. It sent chills of hatred down my spine, but I kept my face neutral as I turned to regard her. The expression was harder to keep when I saw she was walking next to Loki. Both held wooden bowls in their hands. They shimmered with green magic.
"Looks like you two are getting along," I commented.
Neither responded to my statement. But Loki did raise infinitesimally raise an eyebrow. The movement was quick. I almost didn't detect it. He approached me and beckoned me to sit down on a flat rock next to the wall of the cave. He placed the bowl in my hand.
"I brought you water."
I laughed. "The Prince of Asgard catering to me? I've come a long way," I said. He snorted and rolled his eyes.
"There's a spring deeper into the cave if you feel the need to bathe," my mother spoke up from where she'd sat by the opposite wall.
I downed the contents of the bowl then nodded. "Sounds good. Loki, you can show me where it is." The bowl shimmered in my hands then disappeared.
It felt like I could never get a private moment with Loki. On earth, it always felt like SHIELD was secretly watching us. We had to try to stifle our growing affections as much as possible, and often times Loki played the part a little too well. We'd barely had any time on Asgard before Evander and his forces invaded. Now, on this random planet, my mother shadowed us. I decided to take advantage of our small moment together.
Loki showed he was thinking the same when we reached the spring and he crushed his lips to mine. Immediately, he tugged at my dress, while I tugged at his shirt, wanting it off him as soon as possible.
My dress fell into a pool at my feet, and he pulled away, holding me at arm's length. His green orbs trailed over my body hungrily. He placed his hands on my hips, and pulled me back into him.
His lips brushed against my ear as he whispered. "Why me? Why did you choose me?"
Why did I choose him? So many people who I'd turned my back on, refused to get to know, yet I opened my heart to the man imprisoned on earth for trying to enslave its people. The man who hailed from Asgard, the very place I hated. Who was the adopted son of the very man I hated. The son of the man who took my mother from me. The God of Lies, the God of Mischief. The God trickery. The Silver-Tongued god known for his manipulation. He'd been muzzled before he left earth because everyone was tired of his mouth. Though I knew deep down everyone was afraid of what he could convince them to do if given the opportunity to speak. He could get into anyone's head, fuck around a bit, and make them believe any and everything he said. He could do that to me. But he wouldn't. I wouldn't let him and he wouldn't try. Right?
"I didn't choose you," I said, finally. "You were chosen for me. Everything that has ever happened in my life, happened to bring me to this very moment, right here, right now with you."
I tugged him towards the spring and he stepped out of his pants and followed. The water was undeniably cold. I dipped a toe in. Then my entire foot, getting used to the temperature. The cold made me shiver. But before I could repeat the slow process with my next foot, I felt Loki's hands on my back shoving me forward. I lost my balance and fell into the freezing water. When I stood, the water came to my chest. My hair clung to my face and shoulders in limp tendrils.
I'd never seen Loki laugh so hard. His shoulders shook, and he grasped at his stomach. But he stopped laughing when I grabbed his hand and yanked him into the water after me. The temperature didn't seem to bother him as much as it bothered me though. I shivered, my teeth chattered if I didn't tense my jaw.
"Now it's your turn," I said, when he surfaced. His black hair clung to his face, and I pushed it from his eyes which sparkled with enjoyment. "Why did you choose me?"
"I did not. I desperately tried to resist you, but everything about you drew me in-" he brought a hand to my face and stroked my cheek with his thumb. I tried to ignore the way my pulse quickened. I tried to look at anything but his smoldering eyes or the water dripping down his chest. I stared at his nose but found myself loving it. The way it curved, the way he looked down it at me when he was feeling annoyed or full of himself. "-your insufferable attitude problem, your ridiculous impractical clothing, your skin-so smooth and rich, your hair as wild as the insolent words that come from your mouth, and the power that pulsated within you. It called to me. I spent hours lying in bed trying to push thoughts of you from my mind, but it was futile. The first time our skin brushed and I felt that spark, I knew I could no longer resist."
"As usual you manage to both insult and flatter me all at once," I said, but my heart beat wildly in my chest.
He smiled. "I love you," he muttered, before kissing me with so much passion, for a moment I couldn't believe it was him. The Loki that stared at me with cold eyes when we first met. That spat the word half-breed at me every moment he could. Now he stood before me, kissing me lovingly, handling me so gently as if he thought I would shatter. I let my hands roam him, trailing my fingers down his chest, to his stomach, and lower beneath the water til I brushed his member gently, fleetingly, and he inhaled sharply. His hands gripped my hips tightly his nails digging into my skin, pressing our bodies so tightly I could melt into him. His hardness throbbed against my stomach.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, and jumped up to wrap my legs around his waist, splashing the water around us. He grasped my behind, holding me up as he deepened the kiss, his tongue begging for entrance. I allowed it and immediately found a new meaning to Silver-Tongued. He ran his tongue over my bottom lip, then slipped it inside, wrestling with mine. Our tongues played momentarily distracted me while he slipped a finger inside me. Then another.
I let out a mix between a gasp and moan as he began to pump his fingers. My mother was somewhere in the cave, probably hearing the echoes of our activities, but I didn't care. Loki's lips trailed to my neck where he began to nip and nibble. He covered a spot with his mouth and sucked. I whimpered, not even feeling embarrassed for the weak noise. His lips moved further down to my chest, then my right breast. he sucked, and the mix of pain and pleasure nearly sent me over the edge. He stopped just in time, removing his fingers from me, and his mouth from my breast. Already I saw a hickey forming, and knew there was probably a giant one on my neck. I was his and he had marked me.
He brought his face to mine, our noses touching, his eyes, dark with desire, claiming my gaze. Never breaking eye contact, he seamlessly slipped inside me. We moaned in unison. The feeling of electricity, of his ice and my heat colliding overcame me and I felt lightheaded. For a moment we stayed that way, breathing heavily, staring at one another, his member throbbing inside me. I wasn't sure if either of us could continue. The pleasure could kill us.
"How lucky am I," he breathed, "to have you all to myself?"
"Very lucky. Dont forget-" I cut off into a moan when he began to move his hips, slowly.
He rested his face into my neck as he worked. His cool breaths on my skin, and muffled moans added to the pleasure of him inside me.
"You don't forget," he moaned, his voice low and husky. "Do not forget that you are mine. I have claimed you for myself." He moved his hips faster. Faster and faster. Increasing his speed and force until he was thrusting into me furiously. I tightened my as around his neck and closed my eyes. I bit my lip.
"Loki..." I moaned, but I couldn't finish because a shuddering orgasm crashed over my body, sending waves of heat and pleasure throughout me, all the way to the tips of my toes.
Loki continued, his moans growing in volume as he got closer to his own orgasm. I could feel myself approaching a second, and I urged him forward, kissing his neck, digging my nails into his back.
"Come for me, my king," I found myself whispering into his ear, and his body shuttered. His warm seed filled me. He bit down on my shoulder as the orgasm rocked his body. The pain sent me into another smaller one.
He didn't pull out immediately. For a minute or two we stayed that way, my legs wrapped around him, him inside me his teeth clamped on my shoulder.
"That was amazing," I finally managed to say. We disentangled our limbs, and he gently lowered me back into the water. "The best I've ever had."
"Of course," he said, pushing a strand of hair behind my ear. "None can compare."
I rolled my eyes, then dunked my head under the water. The sex had been counterproductive. Instead of getting clean like I planned, I'd become sweaty and tired.
Loki soon followed, joining me under the water. I claimed his mouth with mine til my lungs ached, and even then I didn't want to pull away. But I did and resurfaced for air.
Loki stayed down longer then came up, shaking the water from his hair. Flinging droplets in my face.
"Your mother is probably wondering where we are," he said, shattering the romance.
"Oh."
Loki's eyes hardened, accusing me of something I was unaware of. "Your mother is not who you think she is. She has not done the things you believe she has done."
"Spend a few hours with my mother and suddenly you know everything, huh?" I replied, lying on my back and floating. I closed my eyes.
He sighed. I felt his fingertips running along my body. Tracing a straight line from my neck, down my sternum, to my stomach, and between my legs.
"I can not argue. I do, however, ask that you lend her your ear, and allow her to state her case if she wishes to."
I stopped floating, and stood to look at him. "Why should I? She abandoned me. What did she do to bring you to her side? Suck your dick?"
His eyes widened. "Do not speak of your mother that way!" he yelled, grabbing hold of my arm.
I looked up at him, into his angry eyes. "Interesting," I said, pulling my arm free of his grasp. He followed me as I exited the water, shivering. Even though my body was still soaked with water, I pulled my dress back on. The cloth stuck uncomfortably to my skin but I ignored it, walking back to the mouth of the cave.
"Ellisif," I heard Loki sigh behind me, but I ignored him, quickening my pace. Somewhere far in the distance, I could hear the echo of voices. At first I wasn't sure they were even real. It could have been water dripping, or a rock falling, or anything. But then I heard them again, including my mother's calm cadence. I broke into a run.
"Where is she?" I heard when I got close enough. Then the sound of a slap. I stopped running and pressed my back to the wall before continuing forward. I found a particularly tall rock and crouched behind it.
Peering around it I almost gasped. Two of Evander's soldiers stood on either side of my mother constraining her. Evander stood before her his hand raised.
"You know where she is. I can almost smell her on you," he growled, and slapped her again. I almost ran from behind the rock to attack, but my mother caught sight of me and shook her head. Evander didn't seem to catch the movement. One of the guards did and shot her a questioning look, but did not investigate further.
"I don't know where she is," she said, smiling. Her posture was erect. She stood tall and fearless. "But if she were here, I would have some things to tell her: I would tell her that I love her-always have always will. She is my little girl and has grown into such a strong, powerful woman. I would tell her that I never tried to commit suicide, I would never do such a thing. Yes, her father's death depressed me. It was so hard to look at her for a while, but when she left Asgard I was wracked with guilt. I knew it was because of me. I should have been stronger. I should have continued to show her love. But before I could go to earth and seek her out, Odin imprisoned me under false pretenses. But I never stopped thinking of her. I wrote letters I knew would never be sent. Hopefully they are still in my cell."
My cheeks felt wet. My vision blurred. Behind me a hand grasped my shoulder, but I knew who it was. I turned and Loki made grave eye contact with me. He took a finger and wiped away the tear that had escaped my eye.
"I would also tell her that she is more powerful than she thinks. She is not limited to her fire element," she said, then laughed derisively. "You should be afraid, little boy."
"Elise would never hurt me. She couldn't hurt me. She loves me. She's just confused."
"You're delusional," my mother spat and I saw myself reflected in her attitude. "She loves another. And although I do not approve of him, he makes her happy, he complements her."
"Shut up!" Evander yelled. "That fallen prince is manipulating her feeble mind. You-" he points to one of the soldiers, "hand me your sword." Apparently, he never had his own weapon. The soldier does as he is told, and before anyone can blink he buried the blade into my mother's stomach. Her face betrayed no pain. In fact, she smiled, her eyes defiant before she fell.
"No!" I wanted to scream, but Loki covered my mouth and dragged me backwards away from the scene of my mother's lifeless body on the ground. Evander yanking the sword from her flesh. I tear his hand away and we begin to run.
"The path is this way," he whispered. Taking a turn onto a dark path. I tried to keep up with his long strides but kept falling behind. I tripped over a rock in the darkness and he grabbed my hand to pull me forward.
"I want to go back," I said weakly, but knew there was no reason. Evander probably had back up and we'd only get into a fight we could not win.
He didn't respond, and we fell into solemn silence until we reached a cliff within the cave. Below all I see are deadly jagged rocks.
"We have to jump."
I peered at the pointy rocks and imagined myself impaled on one. "Hell no, Loki! I don't know what is going through your head right now but I am not jumping off this ledge."
"Then forgive me, Ellisif," and for the second time, Loki pushed me. I fell face first towards the rocks, watching them the entire time, ready for my death. They hurtle towards me, but my imminent dead never comes. I'm flung into darkness and feel myself flying through a portal. At some point Loki's arms wrapped around me. The path spit us out, and I slammed into the ground, rolling to a stop. The ground is moist, and the air smelled like garbage. In the distance I could hear cars honking, tires screeching, and people yelling. I opened my eyes and see Times Square. The path had taken us to New York. Loki groaned next to me, and pulled himself to his feet. He then helped me up.
I thanked him with a slap.
"What was that for?" he demanded, his eyebrows raised.
"You pushed me off a cliff!" I exclaimed, dumbfounded.
"I knew you would not die," he retorted, rubbing his face. "We have returned to this filthy planet, now what?"
"We get to SHIELD."
