A/N: Hey guys! Somewhat faster update...see I'm trying..

Also, thank you all for sticking with this story despite the terrible updating and all that, you guys are awesome!

Anyway, hope you like it:

"You're going to take this money, it's fake notes, and the numbers are put into a system so if he tries to use it it'll come up as illegal. You will have this earpiece and we will be monitoring you the whole time. Seems like he is going to be watching you since he didn't specify where in the park so just walk around. Try to see his face, and focus on Stella, just ask for her back," Grover prepped me as the time approached.

The whole day had honestly been a blur, and now it was in HD. As I walked through the park, I noticed the slightest sounds and flinched at the louder noises. With no clue of where I was going, just knowing that I was being monitored and that Grover was speaking to me occasionally through the earpiece, I wandered. As I got to a more secluded part of the park I heard a large russel.

With my heartbeat quickening I approached a clearing in a small set of wooded area.

"Be careful, there are some police officers around the area but we haven't seen anyone yet," Grover's voice came softly through the earpiece.

I didn't respond, and continued walking further into the clearing.

"Mommy!" a voice cried. Stella's voice! I rushed forward, I had to find her, she was here, my Stella was here.

"Mommy!" she cried again. I ran around trying to find the source of her voice. I was vaguely aware of Grover saying something to me but the sound of the crunching leaves over powered it.

I waited for another cry and none came. I stood still, trying to locate it, but all I heard was silence.

"Annabeth! Be careful, we don't see her anywhere and the officers are now in the woods with you," Grover's voice said.

I approached the area cautiously, in my mindless running I had lost track of where I was.

"Mommy," the voice was quieter but closer. I rushed forward, there was a patch of trees and a bush up ahead.

I walked slowly there with Grover reminding me to be careful once again.

I turned the corner and saw...

Nothing.

My heart sunk, no, she has to be here. I heard her. I looked through the bushes hoping to catch a glimpse of her blonde hair. There was none to be found.

My shoulders slumped and I fought back tears. That had been her voice, I know that was her voice. After days I had heard her voice, and she was not here. I tried to stop my labored breaths, I had to get out of here. Grover's voice shouted something to me, which became garbled because before I could even turn around someone covered my mouth.

I immediately started to fight back, kicking, punching, screaming as much as I could, and trying to make it hard for him to hold on.

But he had a strong grip, it faltered a bit but I could tell he was trying to drag me away. I heard shouting and more footsteps approaching. Suddenly I was free, I tugged away and gasped for breath. I could see two police officers holding down the man who was wearing a black mask and trying to fight off the men.

I paused to take a breath, putting my hands on my knees. He had a really tight grip and my cheeks hurt. Not a moment passed before I heard a shout. The man had escaped somehow. Panic rose in me, no he was my only way of getting back Stella. With a burst of adrenaline I ran forward and started to chase the guy along with the other police officers. As we ran aimlessly through the woods I got close enough to him to see his face, his mask had somehow come off and I caught a glimpse of his brown eyes before he ran away, leaving me standing there gaping at his face.
