Kira didn't know how long she had sat in that corner, her eyes closed. She felt the need to cry, something as a slayer she had thought impossible for vampires. No matter how crappy she felt, no more than a small handful of tears would fall. Creed had been with her since birth, had been a part of her for so long, and now he was gone.
She couldn't help but blame herself. If she had been more observant, more proactive, had she not been blinded by her feelings for this group of monsters. Monsters. The word rolled off her tongue silently. She could barely bring herself to admit she was one of them now, and had been for some time. Disgust and disappointment filled her being.
"Kira" Paul's voice pulled her from her thoughts as he shook her shoulder.
"Fuck off" she grumbled, her voice full of venom.
Paul sighed and looked around the cave, hurt by her words. He understood though, he had stood by and allowed her human brother to die. It had been maybe thirty minutes since everything transpired, and the sun had retreated into the horizon. Marko had taken the boy's body elsewhere, on David's orders, as if getting rid of the evidence would make everything okay again. Dwayne was now covering the bloodstain on the floor with some hideous old rug.
"He would have killed us all Kira" David's voice rang through the room, laced with a hint of 'I told you so'
Kira huffed, opening her eyes and beginning to stand, pushing Paul away when he tried to help her. "You don't expect me to stay here with you after this do you?"
"He was going to kill me, he would have ruined everything" David's eyes were cold and fierce, as though daring her to attack him.
Kira looked ready to pounce, but the truth was easily seen in her eyes. She was hurt. Betrayed. "You've done a fine job of that on your own" she spat before heading through the cavern, grabbing her belongings as well as creeds, and out to the open air. She could hear Paul's footsteps following her. "Don't bother" she muttered so quietly a normal person would not have heard.
The two of them stopped walking for a moment. "But where will you go?" Paul asked the girl in front of him.
"I don't know. Perhaps Alaska, or Louisiana. Maybe Virginia. Hell, maybe I'll go to Siberia. " her voice was quiet and hoarse, as though she really had been crying all evening.
"Please. Stay" Kira couldn't turn to face Paul. She could hear the hurt in his voice. She could see his face in her mind and all of the self-blame came flooding back.
"I can't" she closed her eyes and adjusted the backpack on her shoulder. "Every time I look at you, all I'll ever see, is you standing idly by as your brother slaughters mine" and with that, she left Paul, stunned outside the cave.
At the boardwalk, Kira pulled out Creeds notepad and began to write a short apology and explanation for the last residents in Santa Carla she cared about. After delivering the note, she did one last nostalgic walk around the park. The coasters, the restaurants, the beach. And then she left, surprised and relieved to not run into the other three vampires she had once called family.
The next morning, Edgar and Allan Frog awoke to a note in the shops mail box. The text had been erased and written over so many times in some spots it was almost blurry.
E. & A. Frog,
I must begin with an apology for involving the two of you in a situation I myself was not prepared for. Because of my faults, Creed is gone. I am leaving Santa Carla, it hurts far too much to stay right now. Forget about the vampires. All that matters is you have each other. I hope to see you both again someday.

Paul couldn't say how much time had passed since Kira left the little boardwalk park. His frozen heart twisted into knots whenever he thought about that night. Thought about her. David had apparently fallen in love with some runaway named Star, and seeing the two of them together seemed to reignite the pain in his chest every time.
Their newest misadventure was keeping him occupied fairly well however. Michael. So far it had been enjoyable to watch him squirm. When David told him he was eating maggots instead of rice, man that was a good laugh. The way his face lit up with shock when they all dropped from the train tracks was brilliant. Now it was time to let him in on all the fun. Paul would have been happy to let him go insane for a couple more days but David wanted to do it tonight.
They had all made it to the Beach and currently all five of them hung around in a tree. Paul was slightly amazed the branches didn't break under the weight. He couldn't help but laugh at Michael's face when his own shifted. It wasn't like hunting with Her, but he enjoyed himself as his fangs tore through the soft flesh of some unlucky teen. Paul wasn't disappointed when Michael fell from the tree and seemed to roll down the hill.
When they were done tormenting poor Michael, Paul sat in the sand, alone, grabbing fistfuls of the tiny grains and watching as he slowly let it trickle from his hand. It was almost hypnotizing to watch it fall, and he was so captivated he almost didn't hear the footsteps behind him.
"Hey Paul" the voice was so quiet he could have imagined it, but still his heart leapt as though it could still beat. He willed himself to turn around, expecting a shadow or maybe the wind.
Much like him, she hadn't aged. Had it even been long enough she would have? Her hair had changed, darker now, but she was still beautiful, to him at least.
The word left his mouth like a whisper, as though she would disappear if he spoke any louder. "Kira?"
And so concludes EOTtS :D I dont know how I feel about it but I've kinda known I'd kill off one of them .-. Maybe i'll throw together an alternate ending if the muse strikes again.
