"Let's do this" said Stark stepping up near the suit letting it move into place on his body. "It's time for Stane to pay for what he has done." He fired his thrusters and started making his way to Stark Industries. He dialed Pepper since he hadn't found the time to call her back and let her know he was okay.
Pepper was walking briskly with Coulson and about six other agents towards the main entrance of R&D. She had been given clearance by Tony soon after becoming his assistant since he had a tendency of staying the night during rough projects and he got tired of having to let her in himself. She opened the door and Coulson strode in as her phone rang. "Hello?"
"Hey Pepper its Tony. I just wanted to call you and let you know that you were right and that Stane is responsible, I'm heading for R&D now in order to stop him from using some kind of prototype of his own suit" explained Tony turning to avoid some birds flying by.
"Tony, I'm already at R&D with that agent Coulson and his men" she said following behind the group of Shield agents who did a quick search of the room.
"Where would you keep secretive projects?" asked Coulson turning to Pepper, she pointed to a door.
Pepper pulled her ear away as Tony said something "I don't have clearance for that door" she said.
"We have our ways" said Coulson placing a small device on the door hinges and it started to sparkle as sparks shot to the top and bottom of the door.
"Pepper? Pepper?" was all Tony could say since she apparently took her phone from her ear and now all he could hear is what sounded like someone welding. He needed to get her out of there Stane would already be there and probably be ready for any kind of attack.
"Tony are you still there?" said Pepper as the group entered the lab area.
"Pepper get out of there right now."
"I'm fine these agents will take care of Stane and we can put this all behind us" said Pepper scanning the room watching the various agents spread out across the large room.
"Pepper he already has my arc reactor tech which means he can power that suit of his, the agents will not be equipped to handle that kind of threat. I'll be there in two minutes get them out of there just until I get there" ordered Tony putting his thrusters into overdrive.
Coulson could see his men spreading out across the room "I've dealt with Asgardian I certainly can handle a man in a suit" he said to himself checking his corners. The room was dark with Stane having cut the lights at some point or another. The room had a warehouse feel to it and had lab tables spread out that created lanes of walkways from the front of the room to the back. Small little projects littered the tables most ineffective or incomplete as well as lights that provided light during the late nights when overtime was required to get the job done. The back end of the room was a large apparatus that was lined with catwalks where workers could work on a bigger project. One of Coulson's agents turned a corner and could see what appeared to be the Iron Man suit, he looked it over briefly and turned when a blue light turned on behind him. Before he could even react he was being hit across the room, prompting the agents to start opening fire in that direction. The suit was a hulk of a thing "fall back" called out Coulson dropping back to the door where Pepper was standing. Three more of Coulson's men shot out in the distance as Stane moved around. It was a good 15 feet tall with a steel outside with a slower bulky movement.
Natasha and Rhodes pulled up to the main building at Stark Industries "I already told you I don't want your help" she said putting the car in park and getting out.
James joined her "I just want to help out. Try to stay out of my way" he said bluntly sneaking up to the door. They could see some men patrolling inside "I assume that those are bad guys" said James looking at Widow who nodded. They entered the building slowly and sneaked up on two men who were watching the elevators. Rhodey was surprised by Black Widow's speed it was a blur of movement, she moved fast taking out guys even faster than Rhodey could and he considered himself to be a pretty good fighter but she would put him to shame. They entered the elevators and she seemed to be prepping her bracelets. She noticed him looking at the devices.
"I call them Widow's bite it sends an electrical charge that incapacitates the victim" she explained as the elevator music played. She pulled up a screen that showed the layout of the office floors, "I would bet that most of the men will be inside the main hallway with Stane's office being their primary target" she explained calmly.
Savin noticed that his men downstairs hadn't checked in, he had finished most of the work necessary to remove the Ten Rings from Stane's office but he still needed a few minutes to work. All the papers Stane had were being burned as well as all the records that could connect him to the Ten Rings or provide any hints to the location of their main base. He plugged in a flash drive that would download all the information on Stane's computer while deleting everything on the hard drive. He looked up when he heard the elevator ding. He didn't move at first choosing to wait and see what was in the elevator. There was nothing in the elevator but Savin was trained he knew better than that he looked and saw that the virus he had installed with the flash drive had done its job as he pulled the flash drive out and started making his way towards an exit.
Savin's men slowly approached the elevator, just as they reached the door they turned and found Savin to be nowhere in sight. Suddenly a small ball rolled out of the elevator and exploded taking three men with it followed by Black Widow who wrapped her legs around the neck of the nearest man and flipped him. Four men who were just outside Stane's office charged her but were cut off by Rhodes who clotheslined one of them and grabbed another. Widow moved like a ballerina as she easily disarmed the two men and incapacitated one of them. Rhodey pulled his opponent into one of the smaller offices and drove him into a desk, following it up with a quick right hook which put the man down and out. Widow grabbed the last man spinning around him like a top and pulling his arm snapping it in two.
Widow sprinted into Stane's office and found one of the windows with a hole in it, she spotted a car speeding off into the distance but knew that pursuit would be a waste of time since she wouldn't catch up. She turned her gaze to the office and pulled out her phone "Get a cleanup crew over her. There are some papers but the computer is wiped, I doubt we will get anything out of this office" she explained hanging up the phone as James entered the room. "You did good, keep an eye on your phone you may get a call from Shield" she said taking a seat waiting for the cleanup crew to arrive and to hear from Coulson.
Pepper and Coulson managed to escape the building with one other agent when Pepper put the phone back to her ear "Tony?" she called but the line had went dead.
Coulson reloaded and turned to his last remaining agent "Contact Fury and let him know what's going on and get us some reinforcements" he ordered taking up a post in front of Pepper for when Stane came out into the open. Pepper redialed Tony but got no answer but got one when he landed in front of Coulson. "Tony!" she shouted when he landed.
"Why does nobody ever listen to me? I told you to get out of here Stane is dangerous and I don't want you getting hurt" he said flipping up his faceplate to lecture Pepper and her own safety.
" " said Coulson getting Tony's attention. "I'd hate to interrupt this bonding moment for you two but we have a very angry man inside a very large suit of armor in the basement of this place and my reinforcements are either preoccupied or too far away."
Tony turned to look at the building "Ok Stane is heavily equipped but I am fully qualified to handle him since I'm more experienced with the suits than he is. Not to mention I am smarter and much better looking than he is" he said calmly. "I'll handle this and we can talk after that" he mentioned looking at Pepper. "It's payback time" he said walking towards R&D.
