Flashback:

Just that, that sole reason, was why she understood him.

Chapter 21: Mind Games

Lil lifted her head up as the sun peered through the curtains. Her head still throbbed with the party life of last night and she groaned audibly.

"Ugh… I knew I shouldn't have had anything last night…"

The hangover was evident as she tried to surf in the memories from the previous night, but the last thing that she remembered was running back toward the bar and ordering a drink.

"Shit."

Lil hauled herself up and noticed that she still had her dress on as she kicked off her heels.

"How did I even make it back to bed, any-?"

A gun glinted on her end table with a note attached to it.

A semi-automatic pistol.

It was beautiful; it was small and shiny, yet the power that came with holding a gun was evident when she picked it up.

The initials "LDV" were engraved on the top of the barrel in such a professional way that it made Lil's eyes widen.

"This isn't mine, is it?"

She opened the note and read every letter of the professional-looking handwriting:

"Happy birthday, you fucking stupid woman."

That line alone was just enough to make a small smile appear on Lil's face at the mention of her supposed 'pet-name'. Although it was probably meant as an insult, she could hardly contain the excitement that came with this note.

"Here's your damn present since I forgot to give it to you earlier. I know you're still learning, but now you won't fucking drop mine. I made this thing, so don't fucking break it."

A tiny laugh burst forth from her lips despite her throbbing head and stomach; Lil could hardly keep her happiness in.

He actually gave a shit enough to make her a gun? How did he even do it without her knowing?

"P.S.: Don't shoot Abriana with it, either."

Lil sat down on her bed and tilted her head in confusion.

Abriana?

It took a moment to finally connect in her head, but when it finally did, the pain finally seared her again and she felt her hand make its way up to her chest as she forcibly breathed in and out.

"He…"

The boss walked out of the shower and ran his fingers through his hair as he stared at himself in the mirror.

He tried to ignore the scars on his skin, yet they were so prominent that they were impossible to forget.

How fucking stupid.

He'd already gone to bed in a pissy mood because of that motherfucking prince; he didn't need that piece of shit bothering the hell out of the woman and making her feel like shit.

Tch.

Was he still on about that shit?

Xanxus dressed himself and walked out of the bathroom and into his own room and opened the door to his office like he did every day.

There, the woman stood with a cold bottle of water in her hand like she usually did, but the look she wore on her face was unsettling.

"Here, boss."

Her hand shook as she struggled to put the bottle down on his desk like she normally did, which caused him to tilt his head in confusion.

The woman wobbled on her feet and her hand reached straight back up to her forehead.

"Woman."

Her eye widened when she set it on him and she smiled weakly.

"Boss, thank you so much for y-your present, I really liked it!"

Her tiny fingers traced her head and he saw her other hand curl up uncomfortably.

Tch, of course; she had a hangover. Why the hell was she here helping him, then? If he had had a hangover, the chances of him even being out of his damn bed were slim as it was, let alone talking to other people.

"B-boss, what happened last night?"

Xanxus watched her lean against his desk as if she could hardly keep herself on her feet.

"You're hungover, dumbass."

The woman stared at him and bit her lip as she fumbled around to the seat that sat in front of his desk.

"I wish I hadn't had anything… did I do anything… stupid?"

Xanxus crossed his arms over his chest and smirked at the memory of her punching that one other woman for so much as mocking her size.

"You cried and punched another woman in the face then spit in her fucking hair."

That was the best way that he could sum up her actions of the night after drinking the hell out of herself.

The woman's reaction was a simple tightening of her hands together in a ball and she blinked as if she was trying to desperately remember the evening, but she shook her head and her eye met the marble flooring.

"Why did you let me drink?"

The boss shrugged as he approached her and sat on the opposite side of the desk in his huge chair. Bester came out from the open bedroom door and settled himself next to her feet.

Lil could hardly walk, let alone carry on an intelligent conversation with their boss like this; her head throbbed with every breath she took.

Bester yawned and nudged her foot with his nose, wanting her to sit down on the floor and play with him like she often did. Any other day, she would have relented and given in, but today she could hardly process what was right in front of her.

"Did you have a nice time, boss?"

Lil couldn't contain herself from asking him this; she must have had so much to drink that she never even got to really witness any of her boss's behavior.

He stared at her with a hard look on his face until he shrugged, causing all of the tension to leave his face with a sigh.

"I suppose."

Lil smiled as widely as she possibly could without hurting her head even further.

The thought on her mind, though, was how Bel could just… do what he did to her. That was the last thing she remembered besides trying to hold in the tears and ordering a drink or two.

A small frown took form on her face a little too late as the boss noticed her sudden change in her demeanor.

"Woman, why the hell are you out of bed with a hangover?"

Lil stared at his narrowed, interested amber eyes and respectfully lowered her head to the ground.

"I-um… I didn't think it would be an excuse for me not to bring you your water, so I-um… yeah…"

Her sentence structure came out as horridly as it would have a few weeks ago before she had finally grown a spine against this man and for one sole reason:

Bel.

What he had done could have been a lot easier to handle, but there were two things that didn't make a lick of sense to her:

The first being that the guy that Lil had tried to dance with twice… even though the second time he had been dancing with the pink pouf from hell, he had gotten all up in the nice guy's face and chased him away, only to go straight back to that bitch and rub it in Lil's face.

As if that wasn't enough to make her cry again, the second one had struck a nerve in her heart: when he had taken his crown off of her head and placed it on top of that other woman.

When she had taken that crown from him, it had symbolized that she was his princess for the first time. When she had worn that crown, she felt purposeful; like someone wanted her. Like he had wanted her. To think that he had taken the thing off and just… given it to another girl that he had probably never seen in his life…

As much as she tried to suppress it, a stray tear somehow made it out of her left eye and onto her left hand, rolling down onto her leg.

"Get the fuck back to bed, woman."

The boss's voice rumbled deeply as he clenched his fist in and out. The sudden fury on his face caused Lil to be taken aback; what had just happened to that calm attitude of his?

Xanxus watched the emotions fly by in Lil's eyes and immediately forced himself to swallow his wrath aimed at the prince.

What kind of sick bastard could do some shit like this to Liliana and, as he predicted, expect her to be okay with it?

Did he not just assault her nearly two weeks ago?

Wasn't she still not over that, either?

"Boss… boss, why are you angry?"

The woman had sensed his irritation and had stood up and hurried to his side. It wasn't like he could tell her why the hell he was pissed anyway, right?

"Go back to sleep, woman."

The danger in his voice was evident even in his own mind, but the woman merely grabbed his hand.

"No; I'm not leaving you like this, boss."

Even though she was suffering from a hangover, she was willing to devote so much time to him?

"Woman, if you don't fucking get out of my sight right now-"

"Then shoot me, boss! It's not like I give a shit. It's not like my head isn't fucking pounding and my heart isn't fucking broken, so go ahead. I'm sure you'll be doing both of us a favor."

Two tears seemed to roll out of both eyes, even if the second one wasn't even visible. The entire world seemed to slur and halt to a stop as he met her miserable gaze. The strength it took to hold her own composure was evident as she bit into her lip and forced herself to take deep breaths.

Xanxus watched Liliana's wall crumble around her right in front of him as she knelt down beside him and laid her head atop of the arm of his chair.

"I'm sorry."

The sob in her voice had disappeared and he was now confronted with a hard stare. The sight confused him; had she just done it again? Did she just store her pain away so he didn't have to see it?

Bester had come to her side as she attempted to stand up and began to lick her face forcefully, which she sat in shock from until the liger sat back onto his haunches and stared at her expectantly.

He had just watched his own box animal wipe the woman's tears away. Xanxus was in shock as he and the woman stared at each other until she turned away and met eyes with the liger.

She then stood up to pat him on the head and used her tank top that she had been wearing to wipe off whatever liger drool was on her face.

With that simple gesture, Xanxus caught a glimpse of her stomach. Her bones were clearly visible as she breathed in and out. His eyebrows knitted themselves together for a moment.

The woman was a literal human skeleton.

Had he seen her eat in the last few days? No; it was nearly as if she never really ate anything, and when she did it was very little or half of something.

"Woman."

He addressed her and she stopped wiping her face as her eye met his again. "Yes, boss?"

"Have you been eating?"

The tension in the room suddenly increased as the woman quickly fixed her torso. "W-wh… are you saying that I look fat?"

The boss had no real reaction to that as his mind scrambled in a confused way. How the fuck could she think that she was anywhere near overweight? Her cover-up must have been obvious to even her as she looked away from him and began to fidget:

Her long, black locks still had the impression that they were curled at the end from the previous night as she fixed them to hide her shoulders.

Odd, the boss thought as he surveyed her from head-to-toe. He had never noticed that before.

Was that why she never wore her hair up like other women normally did?

"I can, um… I can leave if you want."

Her voice only seemed to get tinier with every word she spoke and the boss shrugged. "Go eat something and rest, woman."

"But-"

"Do you want me to make that a command or are you going to just do it?" Xanxus narrowed his eyes. The irritability in his voice caused her to flinch and back up a few steps.

"O-okay… please, don't yell at me… my head…"

The woman held her hands close to her own body now as she scooted past Bester and over to the door.

"Woman, make sure you take painkillers, too."

The muttered response was heard as she turned to nod in his direction. "Okay… thank you, boss."

A tiny smile appeared on her face as she walked out of his office and closed the door silently.

Xanxus looked away from the door to see Bester staring at him with confusion in his own eyes. The liger stared at him for a long moment before finally laying down on his paws and closing its eyes.

It hadn't taken much for Xanxus to interpret what the look in the liger's eyes meant; he was questioning what the boss had done for her. Did he really trust her to do everything she was told?

The idea of having to check up on her seemed obsessive, so he decided against it and lied back in his chair.

Her health was of no concern to him, anyway.

Lil closed the door to the office and held her head as she leaned against the wall. It pounded and pounded relentlessly against her skull and the nauseous feeling in her stomach could either be from the days she had gone without eating a thing or from her hangover.

He had almost found out about her little secret, hadn't he? Pulling up her tank top to wipe her face was almost the worst fucking mistake she'd made this week, next to… Bel. Her bones were more prominent than usual, leading him to stare at them like she had fucked up, which she had.

After hobbling down the stairs, she looked back up at his closed doors.

Why did he even need to care about her well-being, anyway? No one else except for Romano really had, and it wasn't like he was around to care about it anymore. Lil didn't need the boss's help.

She forced herself to walk down to the vacant kitchen.

Luss and Fran were nowhere to be seen; their hangovers were probably a couple times worse than hers, which Lil could hardly even fathom.

"Where are the painkillers?" She asked herself as she rummaged through the cabinet and finally came across an orange bottle with a fancy name on it.

"For migraines and pain," Lil read the label aloud, but a paper was taped to the top of the lid that read 'Hangover meds' in neat handwriting.

She let out a tiny sigh and popped open the lid and swallowed one pill. As she turned, she noticed the cake on the table that had been specifically made for her yesterday.

Her stomach cringed at the sight of it.

Did her stomach hurt because she needs to vomit or did it hurt because she needed to eat?

After all, the boss had told her to get rest, take pills, and eat something. He'd probably be pissed beyond belief if he found out that she didn't at least try.

With all of that arguing with herself, Lil took a knife and slowly began to cut her cake. Her hand began to shake as she pushed down on the cake; she should be in bed right now, just like the boss had told her to.

Even though that was the reason she always gave to herself, she knew that the weakness was definitely from hunger. It was always at its worst in the middle of the day.

Lil had retrieved a small piece of cake and sat down at the table to eat it, but as she picked up her fork, her stomach turned and she held her mouth and forced herself to look away from the food in front of her.

"I can't do this…"

Lil whispered to herself. The goose bumps began to appear on her arms and seemed to spread throughout her body as she shook violently. She knew she couldn't eat a thing because of all of the stress she was going through and not to mention that her body would reject it.

After all of these years of denying food for days at a time, eating regularly was nauseating. The very thought caused her eyes to mist over faintly. Even if she wanted to, there would be no way that she would be able to eat a god damn thing.

The prince climbed out of his princely shower with the smell of his princely cologne filling his room as he dressed himself.

Last night had not gone as planned.

A small smirk appeared on his face at the mere thought of the previous night; Abriana and him holding hands and grinding nearly all night was a definite bonus, but Lilie had punched her in the face and made her cry.

Bel adjusted his hair and walked back into the bathroom to use the mirror.

In a sense, last night's plan had worked. Making Lilie jealous wasn't something that he managed to do very often… or ever. He wanted her to want him, and he had gotten what he wished for. Every spare second he got, he watched her order drinks to fill herself up with, all the while sitting next to the boss.

"Ushishishi, how annoying~" Bel said to himself in the mirror as he smiled at himself.

No matter what way he tried to put it, this was a crisis. It was only a few days ago when he had heard some stupid words in his mind that had pissed him off enough to try to trick himself out of whatever the hell he was feeling:

"You like her," his thoughts had whispered their lies into his head. "You want her and you don't want to admit it."

Ever since then, he had been trying to convince himself that she was just like every other girl he had ever screwed around with.

Just like every other girl who he had played.

To prove himself wrong, he had even gone out of his way to meet Abriana on the dance floor and use her as much as possible to piss Lilie off in the hopes that he would see Lilie as just another girl.

So far, it had worked. He felt refreshed after spending whatever part of the night with Abriana, and he had even worked out a date with her tonight (before she had gotten a little wasted). Hopefully, she hadn't forgotten in the midst of their fun last night.

The prince placed his tiara atop of his head in an uppity way as he smiled one last time at himself before finally walking out of his room.

Not only had he not given Lilie her present, but it was time to convince himself further that he had no feelings for her.

He wandered out into the hallway and looked around.

No Lilie.

He had creeped over to her room and peeked inside.

No Lilie.

That was when he finally dropped by the kitchen and saw her sitting at the table, alone, with a piece of cake sitting in front of her.

"Ushishishi~" His laugh penetrated the curtain of silence that had covered the room as she shot up from her chair.

"W-what do you want?"

The distrustful look on his face struck something within him, but the prince chose to ignore it as he got closer.

"Lilie, are you trying to eat?~"

She nodded as if she was unsure, but Bel clearly knew what she was doing, anyway.

Her face scrunched up in an uncomfortable way and her hand wandered up to her head. "I-my head hurts, and I'm about to go to bed…"

Lilie tried to walk by the prince, but he stepped in front of her as she shot back in surprise. The hurt in her eye shone brightly within that green abyss as he leaned in close to her face.

"But, Lilie~ I forgot to give you your present~"

"I-it's fine, Bel."

Her tiny hands shook as she shielded her head from further pain and she shrunk away from him.

"Lilie, don't be stupid~ It was your birthday and I couldn't give it to you~"

Lil stared at the prince nervously. What could she say to him? She wasn't sure if he knew that her heart had just been broken last night, but the grin on his face could have meant anything.

"I-um…"

"Let's gooo~"

Bel snatched her hand from her head and pulled her toward the hall down to his own room. The closer that they got as they passed the magnificent pillars and all of the fancy décor, the more Lil's conscience told her that she needed to get away from this danger.

"Your heart will only be broken again; he doesn't want you."

"U-um, Bel, it's fine; I just need to go to sleep-"

"It will only take a second, silly Lilie~" Bel smiled even larger and pulled her as hard as he possibly could.

Not only could she not retain her balance, but Lil also should not be coming in contact with him. He was dangerous to her well-being right now, and the smallest little thing could cause her to crack and go berserk, whether it be with drinking or…

She shut the thought out of her mind as the prince thrust her into his red room and she steadied herself using his dresser.

"Into the closet.~" Bel directed her, and immediate distrust flashed within her conscience. The last time he had talked about a closet like this was when he was making one of his usual sex jokes a month ago.

The blonde prince stared at her and grabbed her arm.

"I can't show you if you're not in the closet.~"

Lil went, blatantly, against her conscience and nodded to him. The drinks from last night must have still been giving her some sort of adrenaline rush.

The moment that they both hit the closet was when Bel closed the door and turned the light on. Dozens of suits and ties hung in a far corner, but the rest of the walk-in closet was empty.

Bel turned away from the door and laughed, like he usually did. "Ushishishi~ Ready, Lilie?"

Lil cringed at what she thought he was going to do, but he took her hand and held it up to his face.

"Ushi~ Go ahead, Lilie~ I know you want to see them~"

In her pained haze, she wondered what he was talking about, until she suddenly remembered that conversation in the park that they had had nearly two weeks ago.

"Y-your eyes? But… why in here?"

All of her irritability with him had vanished and the adrenaline rushed throughout her body at the wonder and excitement of this new opportunity.

"No one else gets to see~"

Bel pushed her hand closer to his cheek and gradually let go as her hand moved closer. What color were they? Did they have the same functions as everyone else's eyes?

She struggled to hold a laugh in; what stupid questions to be asking oneself.

Finally, she swept his bangs aside and was astounded at what she saw:

An eye that was dark, deep blue around the edges and, closer to the inside, was a bleached, paler blue that stared back at her.

"What; do you think that I'm going to bite you, Lilie?~ It's okay~"

His encouraging voice was reflected in his one eye that she could see and she moved the hair away from his face completely.

Even though his face couldn't have seen too much sun, it was a perfect, fair color that was even throughout all of his skin and his nose was tiny and proper.

Both of his eyes set themselves on her as he smiled and closed them.

"What do you think, Lilie?~"

There were no words to speak; she could hardly find a way to describe how they looked. "I-um…"

His hair gradually swished straight back into place as she drew her hand away. "I can't believe… why don't you have your bangs out of your face?"

The prince's expression suddenly went from a smile to a tightly-pressed-together lip bite.

"When the Prince can see other people, they turn a different color. I don't usually chose when it happens and he doesn't take over me when it does; it's almost like he's looking at the people I'm around just so he can get a feel for who I am and who you are even though he's not me."

Lil's eye sharpened; she could feel it. Just the mention of that… thing… that was inside of Bel made shivers crawl through her skin as she quaked in place.

"What color do they turn?"

"Ushishishi~" Bel laughed at her as he held his bangs back. His brilliant multicolor-blue eyes danced when they set themselves onto her. "Do you want to find out yourself?"

Lil felt her heart beat right out of her chest. What if-

"Don't worry, Lilie~ I'll control him~"

Worry pricked at her skin at the thought of the possible outcome. What if she was attacked again?

Nonetheless, she nodded her head in acceptance and watched the magic happen; suddenly, those blue eyes faded from the inside out:

One moment, they were a friendly blue and the next… a dull, angry gray. Those same eyes had gone from Bel-like to pissy and mocking; typical of this kind of Prince.

In a sudden burst of movement, Bel shook his head and his eyes brightened back to normal.

"Weird, huh~?"

Lil watched her own sanity begin to slip away at the very thought of that; it was scary that his eyes could change at a moment's notice and his demeanor could be completely different… and she could never know because he never showed his eyes.

In response to his question, she nodded and brought her hands to the front of her torso.

"Okay, now let's see yours, Lilie~"

His hand flashed up to her bangs and swept them away from her face. Her gray eye was now exposed and she watched the prince's expression brighten again.

"Aww… it's so pretty, ushi~ You should keep it this way more often~"

His compliment fell on deaf ears as the rationality within her situation began to set in. "How many people have you showed them to? Y-you know, your eyes…"

The prince's eyes flashed in a challenging way as he smirked. "One."

Abriana.

Of course; how could she have been so stupid to fall for his lies and shit?

"Lilie~ Come here.~"

His intriguing voice made her heart tug in his direction, but she backed further into the closet with the thought of how heartbreaking he made everything for her.

The tears threatened to burst forth, but he tilted his head, those eyes squinting in confusion.

"Come heeere~" He whined, causing Lil to take a little step in his direction, which then, because of her heart, turned into two small leaps, which he then took her into his arms like he had last night before they had gone out.

"Aww, see?~ I'm not all bad~"

Bel's grip tightened on her when she looked up at him and his eyes stared into her one. He swept her bangs away from her face again and they seemed to glint with satisfaction.

"The prince shall bestow upon you another gift~"

Lil opened her mouth to ask what the hell he was talking about, but her thought was slowly lost as he leaned in and crushed his lips against her lustfully. Before she knew it, they were against the wall and he snaked his arms around her body.

Bel had no idea how it had gotten to this point with Lil, but he liked it. Her tiny lips were very soft and girly, as if they had never been touched.

His hold on her tightened as he felt his hand slide up to her face and caress her cheek.

No matter how much he had tried to avoid his player status being ruined, he couldn't and he knew it right then.

Never had he felt like this for any woman and it hurt to see her with any other guy unless it was him or someone that was off the market or a hell no.

His feelings could not go away as easily as he thought, and he knew that this kiss would stay with him for a long time; longer than he cared to admit.

Never had he been so willing to show his eyes to anyone until Lilie had come along. She was the first person who had seen his eyes willingly other than family, and that was years ago.

Suddenly, she broke away and began to hold her head feverishly.

Bel could have almost sighed with irritation at himself; he had forgotten about her hangover of all things.

"Go to sleep, Lilie~" he whispered as he led her out of the closet quietly and to his own bed, which she climbed into gratefully and stared at him for a few moments before finally closing her eyes and her breathing gradually slowed.

For moments, he stood, watching her chest bob up and down with every breath that she took and decided that, yes, he wanted to do so many things to her right then, courtesy of the Prince, but he withheld all of those urges as he stroked her cheek.

"Why you?" He asked her unconscious figure as he continued stroking her cheek and watching her breathe until he finally fell into his own slumber.

Bel woke up beside Lilie hours later, glancing at his clock in the corner.

4:30pm.

Abriana was going to arrive in thirty minutes.

Quickly, he began to get around, but then he slowed when he realized the glaring fact: the only reason he had wanted to go back out with her was to make Lilie jealous and… he didn't need that anymore.

His plan failed and he was glad that it had.

He would have to look like he had gotten ready and then cancel when she came to the door. It wasn't like he could tell her over a text or some shit; that would be rude.

So, the prince slowly got together one of his best suits and began to get dressed in the most timely way that he possibly could.

Lil was aroused from her sleep by the sound of something falling onto the floor. Quickly, she opened her eyes and looked around, seeing Bel getting dressed in a tailored suit.

His hair gel had fallen on the floor, but he looked much too busy to pick it up.

"B-Bel? Why are you getting dressed?"

Her question was a whisper as he slowed in fixing his tie.

"I have something to do, ushi~"

"Which is?"

Not that she meant to pry, but it still seemed early and they had just gone out the previous night, so where was it that he was going?

He declined to answer as he fixed his hair for the final time and got out of the room in a hurry.

Lil, despite her aching muscles from sleeping in the same position for too long, got up and tried her best to keep up with him as he hustled through the HQ.

If this was such a secret, why couldn't he just tell her so?

Frustration made its way into Lil's mind as she picked up her speed as much as she possibly could, and that's when she made it to the parlor near the entrance, where he was standing.

Another woman stood on the other side of the door and stared back at Bel with an interested look in her hazel eyes. That blonde hair and the pink ribbon made it unmistakable who that woman was:

Abriana.

Bel opened the door.

"Ushi, hey Abriana~"

"Hello, Bel-Bel~"

Her tone irritated the fuck out of Lil that she stepped out in the wrong spot at the wrong time and held herself back too late.

"Who is that?"

The bitch asked in her exaggerated tone with some fake ass accent. Bel moved aside to reveal her standing behind him.

"THAT BITCH!" She shrieked, and that was when the entire shitshow began.

"VOIIII!"

The shark had come thundering into the office and he pointed toward the door.

"Boss, there's a woman at the door; she and Lil are fighting!"

The boss immediately narrowed his eyes distrustfully; the damn shark didn't need to talk to him about that woman all the damn time.

"I'm damn serious, you bastard!" Squalo's silvery eyes swished around in anxiousness. "If you won't do shit, then I will!"

The shitty shark raced out of the office and down the steps and Xanxus took a swig of his cold water immediately, letting out a frustrated sigh.

Why was that woman fighting? Did he not just tell her that she needed to fucking get some rest?

Within moments, he stood from his chair and walked at a fast pace to the front door, which was by now crowded with people and there was yelling going on as if a fight was about to break out.

"YOU! YOU'RE THE BITCH WHO PUNCHED ME IN THE FACE LAST NIGHT, AREN'T YOU?"

Abriana.

The boss sighed irritably. Why did no one follow the damn rules about not bringing people back to the HQ?

Liliana snorted and retaliated fast: "Huh. If I punched you, that must mean that you're weak as hell. Sounds to me like you cried about it and you want to cry about it again."

Xanxus listened to the coldness in her tone and the rage exploded with Abriana grabbing Bel and pulling him out of the door.

"Bitch; let's fight again! I bet both of my tits that you'll lose because this time, I'm not intoxicated."

Abriana's voice fluctuated with in fury with the challenge, but Liliana stood her ground.

"Both of your tits? So that means you have a job coming up again, anyway, huh? Is this the first time you've bet on them or are you a breast-betting veteran?"

"Shit," the boss muttered underneath his breath. So the woman did have a fierce side. It seemed as though Abriana was the perfect person to bring it out from inside of her.

"You know what; I don't need this shit! Come on, Bel-Bel. We're leaving and going to that fancy place you told me about; and maybe when you get home you can teach your pet some manners."

The blonde woman with the bow in her hair flounced away with Bel following her, his gaze meeting the concrete and trudging along.

"God damn," Squalo cursed under his breath as he nudged Liliana in the shoulder. "You gonna take-"

"No, she already won."

Liliana's voice, which had had so much fire in it only moments prior, now sounded dead. The pain in her voice was obvious as she walked away from the door, pushing past him and finding her way even deeper into the HQ.

"Shit; I'll take her!" Squalo growled with menace and got ready to launch himself out of the door, but Xanxus grunted in denial.

"Fuck!" Squalo cursed aloud and closed the door shut behind himself. "I mean, come on! Lil won. BREAST-BETTING VETEREN? ARE YOU SHITTING ME? Yet the bitch has the nerve to-"

The boss zoned out when he thought about what Liliana had said just now. No, she already won. The hell did that mean?

After a few moments of pondering on it, he suddenly remembered Bel going with Abriana and it all clicked: she had already won because she had the god damn prince, so no matter what the hell could have happened, there was no way that woman could have truly won, in her mind.

The shark had suddenly disappeared when he zoned back in and walked down the hall in the direction that that woman had gone.

It took no time to find her standing near the glass window in the kitchen, looking outside into the nearly-set sun.

"Boss."

Her tiny voice murmured to him. Even though he hadn't even gotten close enough for her to tell that it was him, he stopped and waited for her response.

It took a moment before she turned around, but her request was chilling, as her tone had dropped from normally cheery to a dark, broken tone. Her eyes glinted in the faint light as she pointed outside.

"Do you think that we could get some training in?"

I apologize if this chappy is a bit longer than usual again; my imagination has been running wild. ^-^

Still editing previous chapters as I go along; I'll make sure to say when they're completely done, okay? ^-^

I can't believe so many people are reviewing and reading and liking this story I just…! –hugs all of you- ^-^ Thank you to you all!

I wasn't a huge fan of this chapter, personally. I dunno; maybe last chapter was just too much for me to handle… xD Yay, OOC people! Woo-hoo! –just kidding x.x-

Anyway, tell me what you think! I always love reading/responding to everyone's thoughts and stuff ^-^ :3

Reviews:

animeotaku0434: A-ah! Thank you soo much! ^-^ Bel was kind of a bitch, wasn't he? He wasn't OOC? –spasm- I really thought he was in some places… I did notice that a lot of fanfics with boss-chan in them are quite OOC… I'm glad you thought that I did it right! Hehe, thank you for leaving another review and the major encouragement! ^-^

Neeky-chan: Indeed it has :3 Boss-chan's own way being kicking some prince ass xD Sues… don't even get me started… oh my… thank you! –much blushies- Hehe, who knows… maybe it'll be soon ^-^ I love getting good wishes from ya, so thank you as well :3! I hope your day is lovelier than mine! ^-^ xD Thank you for leaving another review and the encouragement! :3 ^-^!

MichiyoYuki: Yeah, I know that feeling… school x.x I actually am enjoying writing boss-chan and Lili-chan's 'relationship' xD Ew, Bel… he was rude, so I don't know why Lili-chan would still like him… and I wrote another indirect kiss? O.o –tally marks- xD Again, I didn't mean to write that in, but… ^-^ I'm glad it worked! Lili-chan is quite the… charmer? I must say… sort of… xD Squalo got lazy and just grabbed something off of the shelf pertaining to him xD Yes, we all love shark-man ^-^ What's not to love? (other than his VOII-ing) xD Thank you for leaving another review and the encouragement! ^-^

Bokviki: He was as close to gentleman as he could possibly have gotten xD He thought his present was superior to everyone else's (and it kind of was) xD So yes, his present was ah-maz-ing! :3 Boss-chan was cute indeed ^-^ I hope he doesn't shoot me, too ^-^""" xD :3 I'm glad you liked this one and thought he was in character. For a moment, I really didn't think that he was, so thank you for assuring me that he was ^-^! I'm glad I keep you on the edge of your seat :3 XanLil… I like the sound of that… hmm… -evil grin- :3! Thanks for leaving another review and the encouragement!

ADisasterToRemember: -very blush- q-q! Thank you so much! I'm literally crying at this review; I feel so warm on the inside I just…! Lili-chan's character development took me about a month to plan, maybe that's why… hmm… xD YAY they're not OOC; that was literally my #1 worry (besides Lili-chan being Mary Sue) (but I don't think I have to worry too much about that ^-^) (hopefully) F-favorite? –faints- Thank you so much, you have no idea… xD Also, I would like to thank you for being my 69th review. No, I'm not being immature; it's Mukuro's shorthand xD Also, thank you for leaving a review and the major encouragement! :3
