It didn't surprise Fletcher that his blonde headed girlfriend was cuddled into his side, squealing when the TV screen showed another frightening part of the movie. He had told her they could watch a different movie, Mean Girls even. But she knew he wanted to see house at the end of the street, so she agreed. He wishes she hadn't because now she was obviously terrified. Fletcher hated seeing her like this.
"We could turn it off and watch something else." He reminded her, switching his gaze to her.
She shook her head and smiled weakly. He sighed and switched his gaze back to the screen. She was too good for him.
"How's the movie?" She asked nonchalantly, well attempted to be.
"It's good, even better that you're here." He smiled down at her.
He knew she was trying to distract herself from the movie. He just wished she would stop being stubborn and let him turn it off. But Olive is Olive and she didn't want to give into the fact that the movie was terrifying her. Minutes passed and they repeated the same routine. As the ending credits rolled on to the screen, Olive's eyes were wide, flickering to every dark area, terrified. However he was holding the shaking girl in his arms.
"Are you tired?" He questioned her, clicking the button on the remote to turn off Netflix.
"Not anymore..." She laughed nervously, her voice trailing off.
He rolled his eyes and looked at her.
"Olive, are you not tired or are you tired but too afraid to fall asleep?" He asked, it was a rhetorical question really.
"Both." She shrugged her shoulders.
He paused for a moment and thought. When he came to a conclusion. He stood up and held his hand out to help her up. She stared at the hand and reluctantly let him help her up. She followed him up the stair case to her green colored room. She swears it helps her sleep with peace.
"Can you stay, please." Olive asked him, gripping the sleeve of his shirt.
He looked into her eyes and gave in. Walking back to the bed.
"Alright." He smiled crawling into it.
She smiled up at him and hid her face in the crook of his neck, sighing happily. Her shaking went down and she was at peace once again. Of course it was with Fletcher.
"Do you want me to leave now? You're about to fall asleep." He chuckled tracing circles into her back.
"You can leave when and if I fall asleep." She answered firmly, he could feel her smile form into his neck.
He remained quiet for a moment trying to contain his sudden outburst of grins. Even when she was scared she was still that same stubborn Olive he loved ever so dearly.
"Interesting Factoid about sleepin-" Her words trailed off as she fell into a slumber.
He was far away from any sleep but he didn't mind. Her getting scared was the highlight of his day.
Wow that was short. So I haven't updated this in forever and I'm so sorry about that. Anyways I'm running out of ideas so request them!
XOXO, Kaity.
