Pitch had left his two prisoners alone long ago. Nina was rather thankful of Bunnymund's prescence, but longed terribly for Squint. "Don't worry Nina; we'll get outta' here by ourselves or by this' rescue party." The Easter Bunny assured her. "Squint's been worried ta' death over you. In fact he almost LITERALLY died before I was brought here, but that was Pitch's doing."
The albino doe sighed.
"We've got to WARN them somehow." she replied.
"You can tell them. If you see him in your dreams tonight, then tell him."
Nina sighed. "I'll- I'll try."
"But what if I don't see him?" she asked fearfully. "I don't have the necklace anymore!" Bunnymund thought for a moment, then an idea came to him. He pulled a small vial out of his belt, and held it over Nina's head. "W-what is that?" she asked.
"Dream sand." he replied soothingly. "It gives you good dreams."
As the dust fell over Nina, it transformed itself into a belt and dagger. Nina was surprised, but smiled and pulled the blade out for examination. It was yellow and glowing, and made her feel warm and safe. "This protects you from the nightmares."
"Thanks Bunny. Maybe Squint and I can have a good conversation and a good time too for once."
So, when dusk fell, Nina went to sleep, feeling confident.
She awoke in a field of flowers. She looked around. It was a beautiful summer's day.
"HEY! NINA!"
She turned around, and who should be there but Squint, waving in the distance.
"Squint!" she cried, and she ran over to him and tackle hugged him. "I've missed you," she whispered.
"I have too," Squint said.
"But anyways, I came here to deliver a message; you and your friends are in terrible danger! Especially those fanfictioners!"
Squint frowned. "What are you talking about?"
Nina cocked an eyebrow. "You know, KaylaDestroyer and Eightbooksand60cats?"
Squint laughed. "Nina, I don't know any fanfictioners and I'm glad I don't."
"But- Pitch-"
"Nina!" Squint carressed her. "There is nothing wrong here. Let's just stay here; together, forever."
"No..." Nina backed away from him. "No, you have to listen!"
Squint got up. "NO, YOU LISTEN!" he shouted angrily. He multiplied and him and his duplicates formed a circle around her.
"Squint..." She backed away from the original Squint, and bumped into his duplicates, who grabbed her arms and held her there.
"FINE! YOU WANNA DO THIS THE HARD WAY? FINE!"
Suddenly, the Squints didn't look like Squints anymore. They were ghouls, with wide gaping mouths and just sockets where the eyes should have been. Their skin was black and clammy, and they growled menacingly into her ear.
Then Squint opened his mouth wide and swallowed her, as she let out a bloodcurdling scream.
"AAAAAAAAAUGH!"
She awoke in the cave again, and this time, huge chains of black sand had curled themselves around her ankles and wrists.
She looked up to see Pitch smiling and holding the dagger and belt, which were slowly turning into black sand at his touch.
"Not every plan is foolproof," he said. "Not unless its MY plan, of course."
