"Why should I evacuate?" Ross challenged.
"Because you're about to have at least one serious problem on your hands," Jennifer said as her skin turned green. She yanked brought her hands up, destroying the chains and standing up. Ross pulled out his pistol and shot at her, with no effect.
Jennifer glared at him and walked past him. She kicked the door down, stomping down the hallway as soldiers swarmed the area. Jennifer grew to eight feet and kept walking, wading through a sea of armed men.
~I can't speak, I am such a freak~
Alarms blared, alarms that even Sybil and Hannah could hear from outside the base.
"What's going on?" Hannah asked.
"Jailbreak," Sybil said jubilantly. Soldiers poured out of the doorway. "And I suspect we just got caught."
~How many times can you look me in the face~
Brenna stood up and bellowed, scowling furiously at the guard, who was backing away. Brenna took a step towards him, now standing at seven feet, she towered over him.
The guard raised his gun and shot at her. Brenna cried out, grasping at her shoulder, then watched in shock as the bullet-hole closed and healed. She rolled her shoulder. No pain.
She turned back as the guard backed into a corner.
Brenna advanced.
~Tell me everything's in place when I know it's not~
Jennifer kicked Brenna's cell door down and took in the sight of her niece, cornering her petrified guard. "Brenna."
The girl turned in surprise. "Aunt Jen?!"
Jennifer jerked her head. "Let's get out of here."
Brenna looked back at the guard, then turned to her aunt and nodded, following her.
~I don't even know what I should say now~
Sybil put her hands up as the soldiers surrounded them. "Fine, we surrender. But I think you might have bigger problems to deal with than little old us."
The side of the base ripped open and Jennifer leapt out, snarling as bullets bounced off her skin.
"Like that, for instance," Sybil suggested.
"What is that?" Hannah gasped.
"That's one of my friends," Sybil said happily.
Brenna jumped out behind her aunt, a twisted up machine gun in her hand.
Sybil turned to Hannah. "Get out of here, and never say a word about this to anybody, got it?"
Hannah took a step back. "Uh…"
"For your own safety," Sybil said. "Thank you for your help."
Hannah nodded. "You're welcome?"
"You've done a great service to America."
~I can't speak, I am such a freak, I'm a freak~
Brenna spun around as the bullets ricocheted off her skin, no longer leaving marks. She dug her hands into the metal of the building and pulled upward, tearing the wall apart. She was determined to set these men as far back as she could. No one was going to hunt her father anymore.
