A.N: Well here is Ch.21. The Second half of the battle. Just so it's clear now, I'm just going to write under the belief that all the Primordial Gods and Goddesses are children of Chaos. Yes I know it is not how it is but it is in this story so get over it. After this chapter there will be one, two or possible three more left, it will depend on how long I make the next one. Hopefully you have enjoyed the story and will enjoy my other one as well as the one which will be published sometime in the middle or towards the end of God of Night.
CH. 21
"I….I…." Perseus was interrupted by a massive clap of thunder…
Perseus looked up at the sky to see a bolt of lightning that made one of Zeus' bolts look like a sparkler. The massive bolt of lightning struck the ground right next to Perseus. Everyone with the exception of Perseus was knocked back from the impact of the bolt. When the smoke cleared, a man stood next to Perseus with blonde hair and striking blue eyes that had small lightning bolts running through them.
"Ouranos." Gaia spat angrily, but there also some apprehension in her eyes as she looked at her husband.
Ouranos smirked, "I see you have missed me as well dearest wife." He said mockingly.
Perseus looked at his older sibling in wonder, unsure of how he was here but also thankful at the same time.
"You have no business here Ouranos, unless you've come to join us." Tartarus said as he stared his brother warily.
Before Ouranos could reply, two figures seemed to shimmer into existence out of mist. When they were fully formed, a man and woman stood side by side on the other side of Perseus.
"Pontus and Thalassa." Ananke hissed at the two Primordial deities of the sea.
"You said you would not interfere in our war!" Gaia yelled at the two sea deities.
Thalassa smirked at Gaia, "Oops, I guess we forgot."
"We stand with our brother Perseus." Pontus growled at Gaia.
Gaia's face turned red with rage as she saw the three deities flanking Perseus. She calmed herself and turned to Perseus, "Make your decision Perseus before I kill your little lover anyway."
Perseus glared at Gaia but he knew he still had no choice. He looked over at his siblings who had come to aide him, "I'm sorry but I can't." He whispered sadly.
"Wait." Thalassa told him in his mind.
Perseus looked at her questioningly before turning back to Gaia. As he looked at Zoe, a shadow descended behind Porphyrion. Suddenly the Giant King let out a scream of pain as a black hunting knife sprouted from his chest before he crumbled into dust. A beautiful raven haired woman stood behind the pile of dust with black knife in hand. She grabbed Zoe and disappeared into a shadow, reappearing in front of Perseus along with Zoe.
Perseus quickly untied Zoe and removed her gag before hugging her tightly. "Thank Chaos you're okay Zoe." Perseus said relieved. He released her and turned to the woman with shock on his face.
"Nyx." He said with a huge smile.
Nyx smiled widely back at him, "I have been waiting a long time to finally meet you brother."
"Thank you for saving Zoe." Perseus said gratefully. Perseus knew it was Nyx who had convinced the three other Primordial deities to come to his aide.
"You would betray your own husband?" Erebus screamed at his wife.
Nyx had a pained expression on her face before it hardened into a determined one. "If you choose to side with Gaia and Tartarus over your own wife, then it is you who has betrayed me husband. I stand with my brother and the rest of my family." She said as she stared into her husband's eyes.
Erebus' face contorted into one of pure rage, "Then you will die along with the rest of them." He screamed at her.
Nyx shook her head sadly, "This is not what I want Erebus, but I will not allow you and our siblings to destroy this world."
Perseus stood in front of the Olympians and the remains of their armies, staring ahead at the six Primordial Gods in front of him. He looked to his left and saw Nyx and Ouranos nodding at him. He looked to his right and saw Pontus and Thalassa, along with Three Fates. He felt new hope course through his body.
He turned to the Olympians, "Stay out of this fight. It is now a family affair." He told them in a commanding tone. At his current height of thirty feet, his tone was enough to command obedience, even from Zeus.
Perseus turned to Zoe. 'Will your body to grow to your godly height. This is your family now as well.' He told her in her mind.
Zoe's eyes widened but she did as Perseus told her to. To her and everyone's shock, she grew to an impressive height of twenty five feet.
Perseus grinned at her. Zoe got over her shock and grinned right back at him. 'I need you to help the Fates with their mother or anyone else who needs help in battle.' He said in her mind. Zoe nodded warily at the thought of battling the Primordial Gods in front of her. But with Perseus fighting alongside her, she felt confident for the first time all day.
Perseus held out his hands, willing his two swords to appear in his hands. Shadows formed and when they dissipated he held Anaklusmos in one hand and his pitch black sword in the other.
Zoe did the same, willing her bow to appear in her hand.
Ouranos nodded towards them and followed their example, calling down a massive bolt of lightning, which he caught. He was now holding a ten foot long lightning bolt in his hand that crackled with power. Nyx willed shadows to bring forth two seven foot pitch black hunting knives.
The Three Fates stood with their celestial bronze clubs in hand, eyeing their mother who was looking at them with hatred.
Pontus and Thalassa both stood with swords in hand, ready for a battle the likes this world had never seen.
"Last chance Gaia. End this war now and the resolution does not have to end in your death." Perseus announced confidently to his sister.
Gaia looked at Perseus with disdain before holding out her hand. An earthen sword rose out of the ground. The rest drew their weapons as the two sides stared at each other in anticipation.
"This world belongs to me. Now I will kill you and your little bitch girlfriend myself." Gaia spat.
Perseus' eyes caught fire before he bounded forward toward his siblings. The rest followed his lead.
Perseus made a beeline for Tartarus who smiled in anticipation of the battle ahead. Ouranos singled out Gaia while the Fates charged at their mother. Nyx stalked toward her husband while Pontus charged Hydros and Thalassa attacked Ourea.
The Three Fates surrounded their mother who had a sword and shield out. "You little brats will regret the day you betrayed your mother." Ananke hissed at her daughters.
"You have forced our hand mother. We are fate, which you are trying to destroy." Clotho spat back at Ananke before swinging her club toward her mother's midsection.
Ananke blocked the strike with her shield and swiped at Clotho's legs with her sword. The strike was blocked by Lachesis. Atropos used the distraction to slam her club into her mother's back causing Ananke to stumble forward. Ananke turned and fired an energy blast at Clotho who was too surprised to avoid the blast. She was sent flying backwards.
Lachesis screamed at the sight of her sister injured and attacked her mother with blazing speed, sending Ananke on the defensive. Atropos snuck behind her mother and swiped Ananke's legs out from underneath her with her club.
Ananke fell on her back hard. Before Lachesis could slam her club into her mother's chest, Ananke vanished, reappearing on her feet in front of the two remaining Fates. Zoe walked up to stand between the two Fates. Lachesis and Atropos gave Zoe a small smile and nod before they separated, flanking their mother on both sides. Zoe loaded her bow and took aim at the Primordial Goddess of Fate and Inevitability. Zoe released her first arrow which was blocked by Ananke's shield before she began firing at speeds which kept Ananke on the defensive. Atropos and Lachesis took the opportunity to charge at their mother, overwhelming her with the onslaught of arrows coming from Zoe.
Ananke managed to block the first few strikes but Lachesis landed a crushing strike to her mother's knee. Atropos took the opportunity to smack her mother's sword out of her hand with her club. Lachesis smashed her club into the back of her mother's head, knocking the Primordial Goddess unconscious.
Both the two Fates and Zoe approached the Goddess warily. Atropos and Lachesis had pained expressions on their faces at the prospect of killing their own mother. With a tear in her eye Atropos raised her club to finish off her mother.
"Wait!" Zoe yelled, stopping Atropos mid strike. She looked at Zoe with confusion.
"We will let Chaos decide what to do with her. Hopefully she can earn redemption and won't be forced to fade." Zoe explained to the two sisters who had looks of relief on their faces.
Zoe willed shadows to wrap around Ananke's unconscious form before she snapped her fingers, opening a vortex that lead to the throne room of Chaos in the void. She nodded to the sisters who picked up their mother and tossed her gently through the vortex.
The sisters turned to Zoe, "Thank you. We are sorry we tried to kill you after Perseus saved you…" They started to explain but Zoe shook her head.
"You were doing your duties as the Fates. I hold no grudge against you." She explained with a small smile. "Now let's check on your sister."
Atropos and Lachesis nodded and the three quickly made their way toward the injured form of Clotho. She was in bad shape when they saw her. Her skin was pale white and silver ichor dripped from her mouth. The blast had done serious internal damage.
"Hold on sister. We will get you help." Lachesis pleaded at her sister's injured form.
Clotho gave her a weak smile as Atropos held her hand tightly. Both Lachesis and Atropos had tears in their eyes as they watched their sister die in front of them. Despite being Fate, they did not have any control over their own destinies.
'Remember Zoe, you have all the abilities you have seen Perseus use.' A voice said in Zoe's head. Zoe's head shot up with her eyes wide. "Chaos." She muttered silently.
Zoe walked up the Clotho's injured body, drawing confused looks from the other two sisters. Zoe ignored them and placed a hand on Clotho's injured midsection. She closed her eyes in concentration and sent pulses of black and silver energy into Clotho's body. Zoe began to sweat, she had no idea how difficult this ability was to use. After a few minutes she stopped and dropped on a knee trying to catch her breath.
Clotho, who had stared at Zoe with wide eyes the whole time, gingerly limped back to her feet. Her sisters looked at her with utter shock as the spinner of life threads stood healed next to her sisters. Both Atropos and Lachesis hugged her tightly before all three turned to Zoe as she tiredly stood.
"Y…You saved her." A stunned Atropos exclaimed.
Zoe gave her a small smile, "Well the world wouldn't work well without someone to create the thread of life now would it."
The three sisters all smiled at the former huntress, now Primordial Goddess.
"We must help the others now though." Zoe said tiredly as she looked upon the other battles going on.
Line Break
Pontus charged directly at Hydros when the battle began. He knew only he or his wife would be able to stand toe to toe with the Primordial God of Water. Hydros stood with a spear in his hand as Pontus charged with his sword. They met in a clash of blades, spear against sword. Neither landed a blow before Hydros stepped back and sent a jet of water at Pontus.
Pontus rolled his eyes and redirected the water away from him, "Seriously Hydros? I'm a Primordial of water just like you. You never were bright were you?"
Hydros eyes flashed with rage and he charged at Pontus. Pontus was on the defensive as Hydros attacked fast and agressively. As Pontus went to block a jab toward his midsection, Hyrdros sent an blast of water into Pontus' legs. The Primordial Sea God's legs were swept out front underneath him causing him to face plant into the dirt.
Pontus quickly rolled to his left, just in time to avoid being impaled by his brother's spear.
Pontus scrambled to his feet but couldn't avoid a thrust sent to his thigh. Pontus grunted in pain and he stumbled back and fell onto his butt. Hyrdros grinned as he moved to stab his brother in the chest.
Suddenly a pitch black arrow sprouted from his shoulder. It was quickly joined by two others, causing Hydros to stumble back wincing.
Pontus stood and turned to find Zoe Nightshade shouldering her bow and heading toward another battle. He sent her an appreciative smile and nod before turning back to his brother Hydros who was distracted pulling the arrows out of his shoulder.
Pontus smirked before sending a jet of water at an unsuspecting Hydros whose mouth dropped when he looked up and was rewarded with a mouthful of sea water.
"Hmm yes… a little salt makes the water taste much better doesn't it?" Pontus mocked and Hydros spit out the sea water that had entered his mouth.
Hydros snapped, sending energy blasts at the Primordial God of the Seas. Pontus' body became liquefied as he dodged blast after blast from his enraged brother.
After a few minutes, Hydros' attacks slowed as he became more and more winded. Something Pontus had been waiting for. He solidified and charged at his brother with blinding speeds. He sent strike after strike which Hydros blocked with more and more difficulty as they continued to come.
Pontus feinted a strike to Hydros' legs and when he went block, Pontus stabbed his brother through the chest.
Hydros stumbled and fell, Pontus' sword still impaled in his chest.
The Primordial God of the Seas approached his brother sadly, "I am sorry brother, but I could not allow you to destroy an innocent planet for your own lust for power."
Hydros looked at Pontus with hatred before smiling evilly, "It's fine brother, I will take good care of your wife in the void." He said as he dissolved into a silver dust, his essence headed to the void to join their faded brothers and sisters.
Pontus' eyes widened as he turned and saw Ourea will a mound on earth up and knock his wife off her feet. Thalassa cried out in pain and her legs broke visibly. Ourea stood over his wife with his sword in hand.
"Nooooo!" Pontus yelled but knew he would never reach her in time.
Line Break
Nyx stalked toward her husband with a heavy heart. They both knew she was more powerful but her husband's pride would never allow him to surrender to her. Her husband stood waiting with his sword in hand as Nyx approached him with twin hunting knives out.
"Please Erebus, don't fight me. Let's just leave and forget this stupid war over earth." She said pleadingly.
"You've made your choice Nyx. You chose our brother over your own husband. You know he isn't even a son of Chaos. He is the son of that worthless Olympian War God. You chose some pathetic son of an Olympian over your own husband." He spat angrily.
Nyx's eyes flashed with anger, "It matters not who his birth parents are. He is our brother, a true son of our father. He defends what is right when you choose to side with Gaia and Tartarus, embarrassments to the Primordial Council."
Erebus didn't respond and charged at his wife who parried his attack with her hunting knives.
Erebus slashed at stabbed wildly at his wife who met each of his strikes with her own. The fought for a few minutes, neither landing a strike but it was clear that Nyx was holding back.
"You know I am more powerful than you Erebus. Please don't make me kill you." Nyx pleaded.
Erebus only became more enraged by her plea, attacking with new vigor. His attacks became more reckless and wild. He slashed at his wife's legs which she blocked. As she blocked, Erebus materialized a dagger in his hand and plunged it into her shoulder.
Nyx let loose a cry of pain and slashed at Erebus' unprotected left side, leaving a deep gash.
Erebus stumbled back, regaining his composure as he checked the severity of his wound. He looked at back his wife to find an angry expression on her face as she pulled the dagger out of her shoulder before throwing it aside. She glared at her husband, angry he was forcing them to fight.
Erebus felt sadness in his heart when he looked at her but it was overwhelmed by the feeling of betrayal. He charged at his wife again.
Nyx stayed on the defensive, hoping with a little time her husband would realize he could not win.
After a few minutes, Erebus began to get frustrated. He attacked erratically trying to confuse his wife. He lunged forward trying to impale her with his sword. Nyx blocked his strike causing him to miss and stumble forward where she stabbed him in the chest with her other hunting knife.
Erebus dropped to his knees, looking at the hunting knife in his chest in disbelief. He looked up at his wife to see tears falling down her cheeks.
"I am sorry love. I didn't want this. I love you." She whispered as she knelt next to her husband.
Erebus looked at the knife in his chest again and then back to his wife. He dropped his sword, grabbing her hand with his and pulling her close to him.
"It's ok love. I was wrong. I am sorry for making you do this." He said back softly.
Nyx looked down at her husband through her tears, "I will speak to father. I will bring you back. Just promise me you won't do something this stupid again."
Erebus gave her a small smile and then pulled her down to him, planting a soft kiss on her lips.
"I love you." He whispered as he dissolved into silver dust.
Line Break
Ouranos grinned when the battle began. He had waited a long time to see the woman who forced him to fade by the hands of his own son. She was a powerful deity, but so was he. He also had something that she did not.
"I don't know how you're here husband but you'll be headed right back to the void after I'm done with you." Gaia spat at her husband.
"What no welcome back kiss?" Ouranos mocked.
Gaia glared at him with anger before willing two hands to rise from the earth of grab him. As the hands reached for him two bolts of lightning struck the hands, obliterating them before they could reach him.
"C'mon now dear, you're going to have to do a little better than that." Ouranos teased.
Ouranos sent down a couple monstrous bolts of lightning at his wife who willed the earth to rise up and absorb the bolts before they hit her.
The husband and wife stood ten yards away from each other both with completely different expressions.
Gaia was staring at her husband with hatred and malice while Ouranos simply looked amused by the whole situation.
"What do you seem to find so funny Ouranos?" Gaia snapped.
Ouranos just smirked, "Why you, my dearest love. You see I have enjoyed my time in the void in the realm of the faded. I have no intention of surviving this battle. I am just here to meet my brother and of course bring you back with me. Although I believe your time there won't be quite as pleasant as mine for a while. Father has not been pleased with your behavior and I believe you will have some difficult centuries in front of you." He said happily.
Gaia's eyes widened in realization, and genuine fear crept into her for the first time since the war began. She turned to look at the other battles. Ananke was gone. Nyx was simply toying with Erebus at the moment. Hydros was losing to Pontus. Only Ourea and Tartarus seemed to be in even fights at the moment. She knew things were not going well.
She turned back to Ouranos to see him smiling at her evilly. He charged toward her, leaping over earthen hands that she sent to grab him. He knocked a few away with his bolt as he closed the distance on her.
The met is a flurry of strikes, matching each other strike for strike, pieces of earth and sparks of electricity showering the area where they battled. Gaia stayed on the defensive an Ouranos never let up on his attacks. Gaia began to panic, knowing Ouranos had nothing to lose while she had everything on the line.
Ouranos swung his bolt toward his wife's head. Gaia smirked, dropping a few feet into the earth before firing an earthen spear into his midsection.
Ouranos flew back a few feet as Gaia rose back out of the earth. She smiled smugly until she saw her husband already on his feet charging her. The earthen spear was still impaled into his stomach but was seemingly unnoticed by Ouranos.
As Ouranos reached her, Gaia raised her sword but Ouranos just leapt into the air, willing the currents to raise him a few extra feet off the ground before they propelled him toward her, his bolt raised overhead as he brought it down in a deadly blow to her chest. Gaia cried out in pain as the bolt impaled her through the chest, electricity sending her body into convulsions.
Gaia opened her eyes a minute later to see her sword pierced through her husband's chest as his bolt was through hers. She looked at Ouranos who was smiling with satisfaction.
"Now, let us go visit that little evil bastard of a son of ours, Kronos. He has some long overdue punishment for that little stunt you had him perform." Ouranos said as he dissolved into silver dust, his smile never wavering.
Gaia started to panic as she felt herself dissolve as well, her essence joining her husband in the realm of the faded. When Gaia opened her eyes, she met the angered pulsing black orbs of her father Chaos looking at her distastefully.
Line Break
Thalassa had just had two mounds of earth rise up, crushing both her legs together, breaking them painfully. She collapsed onto her back in extreme pain as her brother Ourea approached her with his sword drawn, smiling evilly.
"Nooooo!" She heard her husband bellow from a distance that was too far to help her in time.
She looked up as Ourea raised his sword, staring at him defiantly.
"Any last words sister?" Ourea asked mockingly.
In response, the Primordial Goddess of the Sea spit into his face, causing him to become enraged.
Ourea moved to strike down his sister but his blade was met and blocked with the celestial bronze club of Clotho, one of the three sisters of Fate. Ourea looked up in just enough time to see himself get impaled by two arrows fired by Zoe Nightshade.
Ourea stumbled back only to be clubbed from behind by Atropos, being knocked to the ground in the process.
As Ourea lay injured on the ground, he looked up to see the Three Fates and Zoe Nightshade standing over him looking at him with disgust. Zoe tugged on the wolf pendant around her neck, pulling out a large black hunting knife which she impaled into his heart before he could say a word. The Primordial God of the Mountains dissolved in silver dust.
Zoe and the Fates walked toward the only battle remaining, between Perseus and Tartarus.
Line Break
Perseus had singled out Tartarus from the beginning, knowing that he was the most powerful and dangerous of the Primordial Gods. As he charged, Perseus saw Tartarus grinning at him. Perseus had both his blades out while Tartarus wielded two blood red swords, the same color as his eyes. As he neared him, Perseus could literally feel the power and evil pulsating from his brother.
Perseus slashed with both blades in a downward arc which was blocked by Tartarus with his own blades. Perseus continued on the offensive but could not land a single blow against the Primordial of the pit. Although Perseus couldn't land a blow, neither could Tartarus as they exchanged strikes for several minutes.
Perseus willed shadows to circle around Tartarus only for him to cover his body in hellfire which seemed to prevent the shadows from reaching him.
Tartarus grinned evilly and sent a blast of hell fire at Perseus who rolled to his right, something Tartarus had anticipated. Tartarus sent another blast of hellfire at Perseus' rolling form, catching his left arm with the blaze.
Perseus bellowed in pain as the fire burned the skin of his arm severely. He managed to remove it but the damage was done, his arm was covered in silver ichor that flowed from places where the skin had been completely burned off.
Perseus let shadows consume his Chaos metal sword, opting to wield the blade given to him by the love of his life, his reason to win this war.
Perseus looked at Tartarus to see a nervous look on his face. He looked around to see that all the other battles were over. Ouranos was gone but so was Gaia apparently. Nyx stood next to Zoe with red eyes. Perseus knew she had defeated her husband. Pontus held Thalassa in his arms bridal style as both her legs were broken. The Three Fates were standing together, still in their thirty year old form.
The ones capable to fight stepped toward Tartarus to help but Perseus stopped them.
"No! He is mine. You have all ensured that the world will survive. Tartarus is mine and mine alone." He yelled, stopping everyone in their tracks.
Zoe looked on concerned. She wanted to argue with Perseus after seeing his disfigured and ichor covered arm, but a hand on her shoulder from Nyx forced her to bite her tongue.
The Olympians and the remains of their army stood at a distance watching the battle with nervous anticipation. They knew they would survive but the ones that were Perseus' friends were worried for him. Thalia and Clarisse held each other's hands tightly as they looked at Perseus battle Tartarus head on.
Perseus turned back to Tartarus to see his nervous expression gone. A look of grudging respect now graced his features but a look of hatred and anger quickly took its place as Tartarus realized they had lost the war. His only consolation would be to take his little upstart brother with him.
Tartarus charged at Perseus, trying to take advantage of his injury as he slashed at Perseus' injured left side. Perseus spun and parried the strike and kicked Tartarus in the chest, causing him to stumble backwards.
Tartarus' eyes caught fire as he sent another blast of hellfire at Perseus. Perseus expected this though and vanished into a shadow, reappearing behind his brother were he slashed at his back before vanishing again.
Tartarus bellowed in pain as ichor began to run from the gash on his back. He saw Perseus reappear in front of him again and charged. His strikes were fast and deadly but Perseus blocked each while sending a few of his own.
Tartarus continued his assault sending occasional blasts of hellfire as well. As Perseus dodged a plume of hellfire, Tartarus slashed at Perseus' head. Perseus leaned back to avoid the strike but the tip of Tartarus' blade caught Perseus in the eye, blinding his left eye completely. Perseus stumbled back clutching his eye in pain as he could hear Zoe begin to cry in the circle of onlookers.
Perseus regained him composure but he knew he needed to end the fight soon. He was losing and another mistake could be his last.
"I would have thought father's little favorite son would be more of a challenge. I guess you really are just the son of one of those pathetic Olympians." Tartarus mocked.
A gasp escaped most of the Olympians with the exception of Hades and Artemis who both looked shocked that Tartarus knew Perseus' secret.
Perseus stared at Tartarus with fury. His one remaining good eye was a pulsing flame of black and silver fire.
Tartarus charged again but Perseus was ready. As Tartarus reached him Perseus poured most of his energy into willing time to slow. Tartarus was mid swing as time slowed. A look of realization and panic crossing his face. Tartarus struggled against the time spell but Perseus was too powerful.
"I am no son of an Olympian. I am the son of Chaos and Lupa the Mother of Rome." Perseus yelled as Anaklusmos came down in a powerful arc, severing Tartarus' arm from his body.
As the limb flew from his body, Tartarus let loose a scream of pain. He stumbled to the ground. As he clutched the stub of his arm at the elbow, where his arm now ended. He looked up to find Anaklusmos at his throat. Nyx, Zoe, the Three Fates and Pontus had their own weapons out pointed at Tartarus.
"You have one chance to avoid eternal punishment in the void Tartarus. Swear on father's name to return to the pit and never try to take over control of planet Earth again." Perseus growled at his brother, daring him to deny the offer.
Tartarus' eyes widened before they narrowed. He stared at Perseus defiance. He gaze shifted to the murderous looks of the rest of the groups with their weapons out and pointed at him.
Tartarus sighed and nodded, "I Tartarus, Primordial God of Punishment, swear on my father Chaos' name to return to the pit peacefully and to never try to take over the planet Earth again."
A shadow descended on the battlefield until outstepped Chaos, his eyes pulsing with power.
"Your Gods damn right you won't. You better be thankful to your brother for his kind heart. You would not want to be your brothers and sister right now." Chaos said glaring at Tartarus.
Tartarus nodded and vanished in a blood red blur back to the pit.
Perseus and Nyx started to chuckle at their father.
"What?" Chaos asked indignantly.
"You sound like a mortal grounding their 12 year old child." Nyx said chuckling while Perseus nodded and laughed along with her.
Chaos playfully glared at them before smiling. "I swear you two are like twins. You both act exactly alike." Chaos muttered before pulling Perseus into a tight embrace.
"I am so proud of you Perseus. You fought against all odds, even when I told you not to and you saved this planet and billions of lives from an eternity of misery." Chaos said proudly.
Perseus smiled, "I couldn't have done it without my brothers and sisters coming to my aide." He turned to Nyx, "Thank you sister. For everything; saving Zoe, bringing the help I needed and saving the day. I've wanted to meet you for millennia, ever since father told me about you."
Nyx smiled and hugged Perseus tightly, "You were the one who convinced me to recruit our siblings to come help. I saw how you fought for what was right against all odds and showed me what was the right thing to do, despite how painful it was." She trailed off looking at her father expectantly.
Chaos sighed, "Fine. But not until he swears to oath to never be such a complete dumbass again."
Nyx smiled and tackled her father in a hug, causing Perseus and Pontus to laugh.
Nyx turned back to Perseus after a minute, "I expect an invitation to that wedding of yours brother. As well as some time with any nieces or nephews who result from the honeymoon." She said mischievously, causing Perseus to turn bright red and Zoe to follow suit.
After speaking for a bit to their brother, Pontus and Thalassa left the battlefield to heal the injuries they sustained in the fight.
Chaos sent the Olympians and their army back to Olympus through a vortex, leaving only Nyx, Zoe, Perseus, Thalia, Clarisse and Chaos.
Once Chaos had healed Perseus arm and closed the wound in his eye and Clarisse both tackled Perseus in hugs.
Chaos broke them from their moment, "Perseus, I know what you have planned. Your sister and I support your decision completely."
Thalia, Clarisse and Zoe looked at Perseus confused but received only a wink in response, irritating the three immensely.
Chaos and Nyx both said their goodbyes and left to the void leaving Perseus with his family.
Zoe walked up to Perseus and slapped him hard across the face, careful to avoid his injured eye. "Don't ever do something that stupid again! You could have been killed!" She screamed at him.
Perseus smiled apologetically at her. Zoe softened and jumped up into his arms, smashing her lips into his. She kissed him deeply until someone awkwardly cleared their throat.
Thalia smiled sheepishly, "Sorry but we should go to Olympus before we miss everything."
Zoe blushed and nodded. She looked at Perseus, "What are your plans your father was talking about?"
Perseus smiled mischievously, "You'll see love. It's a surprise so let's get going before we miss the chance to make a fashionably late entrance interrupting one of Zeus' speeches."
The three girls laughed at Perseus before he grabbed them and vanished into a shadow.
They reappeared dead center in the throne room while Zeus was ranting about the heroics of himself and the other Gods on the battlefield against the Giants.
"I hope you aren't talking about yourself in that group of heroes on the battlefield." Perseus said smirking. He now had an eye patch over his eye and his arm was now bandaged covering the scars from the hellfire.
"How dare you interrupt a meeting of the Olympians? We are trying to reward our heroes from the war!" Zeus bellowed from his throne.
Perseus just smirked and motioned for Zoe, Thalia and Clarisse to go sit with Phoebe next to Artemis.
"And that is exactly why I am here oh mighty God of Thunder." Perseus mocked, drawing chuckles from most of the Olympians.
Zeus narrowed his eyes, "And what do you mean by that?"
Perseus smiled but ignored Zeus' question. He began to slowly pace around the room, infuriating Zeus.
Finally Perseus turned to Athena, "Lady Athena, could you please tell me why other than the end of the war, today is a significant day for the Gods?"
Athena stared at Perseus confused for a bit, "It's also the summer solstice." She said unsure where Perseus was going with this.
"Thank you Lady Athena. And as today is the summer solstice, I believe a God or Goddess can be challenged for their throne, can they not?" Perseus asked innocently.
A gasp was heard from everyone in the room. "Y..Yes it is." Athena stuttered out shocked.
Perseus grinned, "Very well, in front of the Olympian Council, I am officially challenging Zeus for his position as King of the Gods. I believe I've witnessed enough of his arrogance and paranoia negatively affecting other Gods, Goddesses, demigods, and mortals alike."
Everyone in the room was in stunned silence. Everyone turned to look at Zeus who no longer looked angry. He looked nervous.
Perseus noticed this, "I offer you one chance to step down and relinquish your position to either one of your brothers or Hestia. I will allow you to keep a spot on the council as well just not as king. Otherwise, I will take it by force for myself and you will no longer be an Olympian, if you survive."
Everyone was shocked at his offer. They turned to see Hades smiling smugly on a chair near the hearth, while Poseidon and Hestia looked shocked.
Zeus regained his composure after hearing one of his brothers ruling in his stead. "I will never give my throne to my brothers. I accept your challenge." Zeus yelled. A look of realization and panic came to his face as soon as the words left his mouth.
Perseus grinned, "Very well. I will be waiting in the arena here on Olympus in one hour."
Perseus waved his hand and Zoe, Thalia, Clarisse and Lupa who stood with the Roman demigods, vanished into a shadow. "Just in case you tried to pull a Gaia on me and threatened my family." Perseus said before vanishing into a shadow with a wide fanged grin staring right at Zeus.
A.N: Well I don't know if the battle was all that good but I'm still new at it so that's what I got for you. I know the Fates were obviously very very OCC but I figured why not. It's never been done before so I thought I'd have a little fun with it. If you didn't like it then I'm sorry but I also don't care. Hopefully you enjoyed it. I don't know if you saw the ending coming but I thought it would be fitting. Don't worry, there will be more surprises and a certain confrontation with Ares still to come so stay tuned.
