Welp! Onto the chapter!

Chapter 21: So Much To Talk About

Nala P.O.V.

"You have got to be kidding me!" As quick as it came, Simba's paw left my chin and he stood up and started to pace. I couldn't blame him though. I'm here, there, and everywhere right now with all that's going on. He was outraged and I knew it'd take a lot for him to settle down.

"Si-Simba, can I explain?" He whipped around to me in my desperate plea, his scarlet eyes ablaze and his breathing started to increase like he was a bull in a ring about to attack the matador.

"Explain!? Explain what!? How as of right now, how you stabbed me in the back!? You want to explain that?!" I didn't enjoy at all being yelled at, but I'd let it go since I did cause it.

"I haven't even made the full decision yet. I said I was thinking of going back. That still leaves room enough for me to change my mind to stay."

"Oh ok, Nala, sure. So, what's it going to take for you to make that ultimate decision?" His voice was sarcastic and taunting and I'd let him know right now that I was not one to put up with anything!

"Will you stop!? I don't appreciate your tone and you're making the decision easier for me with your actions!" He stopped pacing and starred at me incredulously.

"My actions and tone? Really? What about you?!"

"What about me?"

"What was it that you just said to me…" My head dropped and I shook it slowly from side to side.

"That I missed you." And I did miss him, "Which is why it's hard for me to decide."

"Girl, you can't be serious! You'd really go back to a pride with a bad rep and an even worse ruler and son to be abused, ridiculed, misused and mistreated, and only used for hunting and breeding purposes? What kind of life is that?" I knew he had a point and I knew where my heart lied, but what about my duty and his? He is already betrothed to Maeva and she's been through hell just so she could secure her position and he himself just said that he wanted to help her. We could both have it good and things could work out. You know how they say: if you love someone, let them go? Well….

"What about Maeva?" The golden lion huffed out a breath.

"What about her!?"

"You just said that you wanted to help her and now maybe you can. She hasn't changed really, right? You talked to her and found out why. We both could be wrong about both of them." A huge growl escaped his mouth and I swear I thought he would hit me, not that I'd let him.

"I DON'T WANT HER!" And in an instant he was in my face and my aqua eyes grew wide and my stomach decided to tie itself into a knot, "I want YOU!" My breathing increased heavily and I looked at him trying to find something to say. He said all that with such passion and fury, it made me emotional.

"I-I really don-"

"Don't know what to say? Really?" I shook my head from left to right while still looking at him, as if trying to shake some sort of thought into my head, "Ok, well how about this, you need another insentive, what about Kenya?" And now, my heart stopped. Why would he bring up my deceased best friend? I grew angry.

"What about her?!" I got back in his face and stood to my feet and he backed up a little.

"What about her?"

"Yes! How dare you!" I know several growls emanated from my throat, but I didn't care. He knew she was a touchy subject for me and he'd use it to his advantage.

"How dare I?! What was the pact the two of you made as to the reason why she died? Wasn't she supposed to come with you!? Huh?! Why are you here, Nala? What was the reason?!" I was left with my mouth open at the realization of his words. He did however make a very valid point. Kenya and I, if you remember the small mention of her earlier in the beginning of this story, she was my best friend and she had gotten killed because she didn't follow rules and had paid the ultimate price: her life. Simba was the only one I had gone into detail about it with and he was pissed even then. We had stayed out all night that night because I couldn't stop crying due to missing her. He had held me, rocked me, and stayed up all night to watch me sleep, but to be there if I woke up. I'd be really foolish to leave a lion like this. Our parents weren't too happy about us being gone because they thought we had 'did something', but nothing did happen. But what if…

"But what if I could change things around, Simba? What if he has changed and this could be a new start?"

"So, Kenya's death would have been for nothing? And her daughter's!? She was just a cub! Just a cub and they killed her." His voice was stern and he never looked away from me, but I did from him.

"No…" I said quietly all the while looking at the blades of grass under me while the wind blew. Zaria was only a few weeks when the first attempt of us leaving the Mala Mala Pride:

(Flashback)

"Hey Kenya?" I whispered out. Kenya had secluded herself away from the rest of the pride, due to the fact that that's what mother's do when they have cubs.

"Yes, Nala? You can come in." I walked in slowly as to not startle her, even though she knew me, new mothers are very protective of their young.

"How are you?" I asked her the question as I looked her over. She still looked youthful, yet tired.

"Oh, I'm ok. Still dealing with the issue that I birthed a cub by the prince's best friend…" She was pissed and it showed by the way her words slithered out of her mouth like a snake. I sat down beside her, for I noticed that her body began to heave and shake.

"Shh, Kenya, calm down. Everything is going to be okay." Her head jerked up to me and I could feel her aura of anger surround the den we were in.

"How do you know!? You're not the one who has an abomination, a reminder, to look at every day to remind of how it got here!" Now the little on cried out at her mother's sudden outburst and Kenya bent down to lick her head gently, letting her know that everything is alright, even though she did it without emotion. I knew she really didn't want this cub here, but she couldn't turn back time.

"Look at you, Kenya. Even though she came, conceived through one of the worst ways possible, you still love her because she's yours."

"But she's still his! I already have to look at him all the time and now he can make sure of it!" The cub cried out again, but this time Kenya just let her cry and she looked away. I decided to take her, but when my friend saw what I was doing, she smacked my paw away fiercely and I took a few steps back.

"Ken-"

"Don't you dare touch her! She's mine!" I looked at her ghastly.

"I know that! But look at her! She needs your attention, Kenya! She needs to eat!"

"That's all she ever does is eat! Eat, sleep, and shit! Can't she do anything else!?"

"She's a baby, Kenya! You did that, we all did!"

"Yes! But the difference is, our parents wanted us!" I paused. She really couldn't hate this cub that much. If I had to succumb being taken by Hasani, I'd still love that cub because it would have been mine as well. Yes, it's a horrible reminder, but it's also a blessing knowing what I overcame.

"You can't mean that, Kenya…" As I looked at her face, there was no emotion. It was as if I was looking at a ghost or a plain wall. No one was home.

"Kenya…"

"What!?" My tone was calm even though the baby was screaming her head off. My heart was sinking for both of them: the mother-nothing wanting anything to do with the child and for the baby-only wanting to be loved and fed.

"Are you going to kill her?" Kenya's eyes grew big.

"Why would I do that?!"

"Look at what you're doing!? Look at her!" When Kenya didn't look, I got mad and I took my paw and pushed her face towards her daughter," LOOK!" She took in the child's desperate need of someone to help her and Kenya had tears in her eyes.

"Nala, I-"

"Give her what she needs! She didn't ask to be here!"

"Neither did I!"

"Too bad! She's here now and you have to deal with her since you don't want anyone else to!"

"You can't feed her anyways." She did not just get smart with me!

"I may not can feed her, but at least I have the perfect name: Mtoto Zisizohitajika."

"How could you? An Unwanted Child? Now that's cruel!"

"And so is not feeding your offspring when they need it! And why not, Kenya? You don't want her and it's obvious Kujivuna doesn't want her either. So why not?" I left her with no words and when I finally calmed down, I spoke softly, "Kenya, she needs you. She didn't ask to be here either, but you're her mother and she's going to need you to teach her right from wrong and how to be strong. Only you can do that. A mother." Kenya's eyes poured into mine and then she glanced down at her daughter, "Plus, she looks like you way more than him." I nudged her and she laughed out loud and sniffed.

"She does look like me huh?"

"Mmm hmm."

"How could I be so cruel, Nala? She's so tiny and fragile and helpless. How could I be so mean and have said all those things?"

"You're just emotional, K. It's gonna happen to me too."

"Naw, not you," she pulled the little one close to her so she could finally eat, "You'll marry a nice lion, Nala." She could be right, after all, I hadn't told her why I was here yet.

"Well, that does bring me to why I'm here," She looked up at me with curious eyes, "Mom and I are leaving tonight to Pride Rock and we want you to come." Her eyes grew to the size of melons.

"What!? Of course! When?"

"Tonight…in a few minutes. Everyone is pretty much sleep so now is the best time."

"Yes! Let's go!"

"Wait. I have one condition…"

"What's that?" I glanced down at the cub.

"You have to give her a name. Right now." Kenya looked down at her cub and then back up to me.

"You name her."

"Why me? She's your daughter."

"Because if it weren't for you, I wouldn't have even made it this far." Now my head was spinning with what I was going to name her. I already had to pick out a baby name and I didn't even have a male companion yet. In the end, I took in all of the baby's features and she kind of looked like royalty and so, I came up with the name:

"Zaria."

"And which part of the definition you want to go with, Nala? Honorable, pure, sublime, maiden…"

"I was thinking more along the lines of Princess." At first, the look on my best friend's face was disapproved confusion, but then after another moment, she settled and decided she liked it.

"That'll work. Princess Zaria."

(End Flashback)

"Why can't you see that he's playing you, Nala? You're so much smarter than this…"

"I don't know that for sure…" I still didn't look his way.

"And your father? You're going to let him win?" Gosh, to be honest, I had actually," What's so funny?"

"I uh, I actually forgot about him." Another appalling look spread across the Prince's face and he didn't really know how to react.

"Ho-how did you forget about him? He's another reason you're here." His tone was now light and I heard the small hint in there that he wanted to laugh as well.

"I don't know!" Now I bursted with laughter and he finally joined me. Why was all of this so funny all of a sudden? We were just screaming at one another and now we're laughing from my absentmindedness. Maybe we needed this laugh. Maybe we needed to go crazy for a minute. I still don't know what I want to do right now, but maybe he'll just work with me until I do.

"What the hell is wrong with us?" He asked while catching his breath from it escaping during the laughing.

"Oh, I don't know." I answered while wiping tears from my eyes and I gently laid down on the cool grass with the wind blowing through my fur. When I looked up, I saw his orbs on me and all I could do was stare back, "I guess love makes you do crazy things…"

"I miss that too."

"Miss what?" I asked curiously because it could have been a number of things about me that he missed.

"Your scent." I had to clear my mind of any negative sexual thoughts because Simba is a gentleman and would not talk about me being in heat…but I wanted to me make sure.

"M-my scent?"

"Yes. The way the wind blows through your fur and surrounds the area. I always know where you are and if you're ok and-" He stopped and moved his head away from me and looked off in the distance, I'm guessing unsure of what to say next or was afraid to. I got up and went to his side.

"And what, Simba?" I watched as he closed his eyes and his head finally met mine and then his eyes followed suit.

"That you were mine." Kings above! Why does he have to do this? Who could say no to him? He's willing to break tradition just for me so we both could be happy. He's willing to give me a position I truly deserve and am I really going to throw all of it away?

"Simba, look, can I just, ask this of you? If it's too much to handle, then that's fine, but please just hear me out." He heaved out a sigh.

"Alright, go ahead…"

"Listen, I just want to be sure of everything. Will you just, take it day by day with me? Please? Give me some time. This is all I'm asking." My eyes poured into his when he started to look really hesitant.

"Nala, I-"

"Please, Simba. It won't be a long time, I promise. Maybe until Cy and my mother get married and I will have made a decision by then."

"So in other words, you want me to fight for you, be just your friend and like, be in competition? And as for your mother and Cy getting married, that's a bit of a ways don't you think?" I looked down to the side kind of guilty.

"Well, you're kind of already doing that to be honest and it's not that far away and I could make up my mind before then…" I said quietly, but loud enough to where he could hear me.

"Nala!" I laughed and I jerked my head up with a smile on my face.

"What? It's true and you know it." He smiled and just shook his head at me, but I leaned into him and gave him a huge squeeze. I did miss this. I did miss him, but after seeing and talking with Hasani, I just want to make sure I'm making the right decision. I know that he could be playing, but I have my ways of finding out.

"You are driving me insane, Nala. Like, I can't stand you, but I want to be with you and will do anything for you."

"Thank you, Simba."

"Just as long as you don't stab me in the heart…that could be bad for you." His tone was playful and I giggled a bit and went close to his face, our muzzles almost touching and his breath caught. I narrowed my verdant orbs in a seductive manner.

"Don't make my decision easy then." His eyes now into slits themselves and I could tell he wasn't fazed by my threat.

"Mmm hmm, but I will warn you now," He had my chin gently back in his paw, "if that fool gets out of line, I will personally! Throw him back in it." A smile crept across my face and I nodded, "Aaaaand I'll try to keep the asshole part of me away from the both of you, but I'm not making any promises." My eyes widened and then I gave him a tired look.

"Jerk."

"You won't find a better one."

Zira P.O.V.(The next day)

I swear, Aniya's child and mine must be connected because I swear to the kings above that I'm about due myself, but I'm barely showing even though all these signs are telling me different. I haven't been around many of the pride members for I knew that'd ask me who was the father of my cub and then Scar would be sent away or worse and I didn't want any of that for him. I told Mufasa though when I really started to feel like crap that I wanted to be left alone, but that I'd keep him informed of my whereabouts. He wasn't too happy, but with Sarabi by his side, she convinced him that'd be fine, but she also told me as he left that she knew what my issue was but that she'd keep it to herself. She also didn't hesitate to tell me that she'd be checking up on me from time to time and that I didn't have the choice of saying no because I was so young and that I probably didn't and wouldn't know what to do. I haven't told Scar yet, seeing as I'm avoiding him as well because I already can probably guess what he'd say and how he'd react and I don't have time for it. But in the end, he does deserve to know. I just don't want to be shunned anymore that what I am by him. Dalilah has run into me a couple times and she kept her countenance to herself. I had found a den all to myself a couple weeks ago when I found out and it's been quite cozy and nice. Today was a windy day and I didn't find much pleasure in going outside, but I knew I would have to soon because it's not just me I have to take care anymore. I really hope I don't run into anyone today. Picking myself up, I get to the entrance of my den and take two steps out, to only within seconds be pushed back in.

"Where have you been!?" I was caught off guard by him and I started to stutter, which I never do.

"I- uh, I'm, I j-just."

"I haven't seen you in over a week!" He yelled and I almost fell on my back, but I caught myself and just sat up straight.

"I w-was just mi-"

"Stop stammering! You never do that! If you wish to lie for me you had better get it right!" This made me angry. I've already gone to bat for him! Did he forget!? I got in his face.

"Lie for you!? That's all I ever do for you is lie, and I'm the best at it! You know you won't find anyone better than me! So I suggest you watch your tone!" His lime green eyes grew wide with a proud-like shock and I could feel my heartbeat in my throat from my rage. I was a pregnant lioness with raging hormones and he did not want to mess with me.

"Well, well well, Zira. You actually stood up to me and raised your voice…didn't know you had it in you." He walked past me and further into my den.

"Yeah, well, that's not all I have in me…" I said low enough for him not to be able to hear. What was he doing here anyway. I thought I was only his puppet and errand girl.

"What was that?" He asked calling over his shoulder.

"Nothing." I grumbled, "What do you want?" This time he whipped around to me in an appalling manner.

"What do I want? Usually you ask me that with less hostility and more…oh what's the word…" He closed his eyes and put a paw to his chin and started to stroke his makeshift beard,

"Enthusiasm?"

"No, not that…"

"Eagerness?"

"Nope."

"Assertiveness?"

"No…Ahh!"Now his eyes popped open as it finally hit him and it threw me off.

"What?"

"You used to ask that with such…love. " An evil smile stretched across my face and I threw my head towards the ceiling.

"Love? Ha! Scar, you don't love anyone, so why would I-"

"Because you love me." I hadn't even seen him get up, for he was in my face smiling and my breath caught in my throat. Did I really give him that much of an indication before? Does he really have that much over me? Maybe me being a bitch to him the last time we saw each other, it made him want me more.

"N-no I don't."

"Oh, but my dear Zira, you do. I know you do. Now, would you like to tell me why you've been avoiding me?" The statement was more of a demand than a requested question and I had to think quickly.

"I needed space."

"Space? And since when did you require space away from me?" I closed my eyes in a snooty way and held my head high.

"Since I've needed it." I noticed that he had started to circle me and it made me nervous, but only for a bit.

"Don't play with me, Zira. I know you too well and I know that you're hiding something from me." Why should I tell him and if I do, what good would come of it? He was just as twisted as I was, if not more, but he'd still have the advantage on me. I didn't know Scar's full potential and what he was truly capable of and I didn't want to be the next victim of his demise.

"You wouldn't care anyway, so why should I?" I finally answered him when I found my voice.

"Ah! So you admit!"

"That is what I just stated." I spoke in a very droll and dry voice to let him know that as of this point right now, I wasn't in the least bit scared and that he was boring me.

"If it involves me, then I have the right to know!" His fury made me laugh for some reason even though I'm a tad bit afraid of what he may do….Geez, what kind of twisted and sick world do I live in?! I'm crazy!

"Even if it did Scar," I leaned into his face and narrowed my ruby eyes, "You. Wouldn't. CARE!"

"Damn you female!" And right then, he struck me and I was sent flying to the very back of my den and my back hit the wall. Surprisingly though, I stood up quickly and I barely felt pain. As he advanced upon me, I smiled sinisterly, showing him my pearly whites and lowered myself to the ground ready to attack if this was going to be a fight. I wouldn't let him injure me or our cub.

"Scar!" I relaxed myself when I recognized the extra voice, but my serpent like smile never faltered.

"Dammit." He whispered and grew even more annoyed and then that's when she rounded the corner and a smack was delivered to his face and I moved out of his way when it knocked him off balance.

"My dear sister-in-law and queen, how may I be of service to you." He was rubbing his the side of his face that she had struck him.

"I don't want anything from you, but I'm sure Zira would just love for you to never put your paws on her again and to leave!" She was furious to say the least and I was actually glad to have her hear, plus she was the only one who knew and now I'm sure she knew who the father was.

"That is for her to decide! Not you! No one gives a warthog's ass if you're the queen!" He got in her face, but she'd never backed down.

"You will have a care, Scar. Because if you don't, I will personally see to it that you be sent to the farthest corner of Africa and not only it will be the farthest, but the dirtiest as to where you won't even want to scratch your own ass." I had to bite my lip from laughing. Sarabi could be mean and throw insults when she needed to and Scar roared with anger, but she didn't flinch at all. Once you get to know Scar, he's really just a big pussy cat. All bark and no bite.

"You wouldn't dare! My brother rules this land! Not you!"

"This is probably why your father didn't want you to be king because you don't know that it takes two to rule a kingdom, not one." She hadn't raised her voice or anything.

"You leave Ahadi out of this!" Now she turned to him in a daring manner and raised a perfectly brown eyebrow.

"And if I don't?" Scar's panting increased and his lime green eyes became shifty, "What are you going to do about it?"

"You'd like to know wouldn't you…" The queen of the Pridelands now smiled.

"But of course. Everyone needs tips. Need to make sure it's done right." This would go on forever if I didn't step in and protect Scar's ego. Haha, funny enough, it's really nice to see him get knocked down a few pegs.

"Hey, Sarabi," I called to her quietly and she looked my way, "I'm fine. Really."

"Are you sure? I just wanted to make sure you were ok…especially with him here." She gazed to him out of her peripheral and her growled, but I giggled a little.

"Yes, I'm fine I promise. I was just on my way to see Rafiki."

"Good. Well, since you say you're fine and I don't want to hover, I will see you tomorrow and see how the appointment went." I nodded to her and with that, she left, leaving me and a very upset and constipated looking Scar who made a face at her when her back was turned.

"Can't stand her ass. Never have and never will."

"You're such a child. What the hell do I see in you?" He whipped around to me.

"What?!"

"You heard me. What do I see in you? You are so petty."

"As. Are. You."

"You really are ruthless." I seethed with a smile, "You'd really hurt the lioness that's been nothing but good to you but can also rat you out?"

"That doesn't mean a damn thing right now!"

"Oh really!? Because Mufasa knows where I am and he has checked on me every day and I still keep my mouth shut for you!" He stopped walking towards me. I know it was a lie because it's Sarabi who checks on me, but it's what we do best, only thing different is I have the upper paw here and I wanted to see his reaction about his brother.

"He checks on you every day? Not just Sarabi?" I raise an eyebrow and nod my head.

"Yes…sometimes twice a day. He knows I like being alone, but he cares enough to give me my space. He's the only one who is showing me that I'm cared for." I had to hold in my laughter as I looked at the brown lions 'taken aback' face. I guess he felt stabbed in the back. Oh well, he can finally give me a break.

"I show you that I care! What about the other night and how I always call on you to help me?" I rolled my eyes to the top of my head. Was he serious?

"Oh brother! Really? One night? Gosh, if anything should ever happen any other night. But I'm sure I got more than what I bargained for."

"What is that supposed to mean?" I sharpened my claws on the stone floor beneath me and that wicked grin still on my face.

"I already told you, not to worry about it." I heard him growl and he asked me in a surprisingly calm manner yet exasperated.

"What do you want from me, Zira?" I let out a really nice laugh.

"Oh, trust me Scar, I have everything I need from you and few things I didn't ask for." Now, I walked away, leaving him in that den alone and confused. I'll tell him when the time is right, or, better yet, when I feel like it.

Sarafina P.O.V.(Later that night)

"Fina, come on! Rafiki is waiting for us!" I rushed up to the lion I was about to marry in a few minutes. We decided to do it in private for now and then maybe later on do a bigger one for everyone to be there, even our children.

"I'm coming, Cy. Sorry. I'm nervous and I feel that we should have let the kids know…at least Sarabi and Mufasa." I saw a slick smile reach across my soon to be mate's face, "What?!"

"Mufasa and Sarabi are already waiting for us." I stopped in my tracks and looked at him a happy, yet shocked face.

"What about the kids though? Don't you think they'd be upset that we did this without them?"

"Well, let's think: Nala and Simba are still trying to make up, Tojo hasn't been to Pride Rock in the past few days because Burundi is back, and that leaves Mheetu and Aniya which I'm sure won't mind because they have their paws full with a new cub." He gave me that 'do you get my point look' and I did, but I still would have liked my daughter and son, well sons now and daughters, to be here. But then again, this would be good because now, there's not a big hoopla about our wedding and I know Abasi has spies here. We all knew he's try to come during the time of the wedding, but now, if no one knows until after, he'll have to think of a new tactic.

"You're right. I had just planned for them all to be here." Cy nuzzled me and I leaned a bit into him.

"We'll make up for this. We'll have a reception for everyone and can do a small ceremony for everyone."

"Alright."

"Now," He stood tall, "We need to get to Rafiki so he can get this show on the road." I nodded with excitement and we both ran to the place where we were meeting Rafki and there in front was the king and queen with bright smiles on their faces. Sarabi was the first to hug me..

"You guys are so slick." She pulled away slowly, but still had a smile on her face.

"Oh come now, you know me. Always have something up my arm…who do you think Simba gets it from?" We shared a laugh and then Mufasa hugged me.

"Feels right this time doesn't it?" I nodded my head against his chest.

"Yes it does."

"I'm sorry we have to do this in secret, Fina, but-" I put up a paw.

"It's totally fine. We'll make up for it."

"Can we please get dis show on de road? I am old and need my sleep. I have beauty sleep to catch up on."

"Well, Rafiki, you have a lot to catch up on." Cy chid the old monkey and he probably shouldn't have, for he swung his stick and slammed it down onto Cy's head. We all winced. I opened one eye,

"You still remember the 'magic words' right?"

"I'm going to kill Rafiki?" Everyone laughed and I went up to Cy and rubbed his head.

"Haha, no. The magic words for me…" He grabbed my paw gently and looked into my eyes.

"I've always wanted those words just for you."

"Let's do this." The ceremony was short, simple, and sweet. After we said our 'I do's" Sarabi and Mufasa went back home and my mate and I went to another spot he had picked out just for us and we enjoyed our night together. The royals had told us that they'd let our children know that we were gone, but that we'd be the ones to tell them the news.

My mate and I had decided a long while ago that we wouldn't have any children, for it would be weird for our family to have a daughter or son the same age as their niece. Talk about confusion. I have never in my life felt so secure, free, happy. I wish I had made the right decision to stay with this lion before, but I was deluded in love and made a mistake. Luckily, I was able to come back and pick up where we left off. Now, only thing we have to brace ourselves for is, telling our kids and seeing when Abasi is going to make his move. In reality though, I think facing our kids is going to be the worse of the two.

Tama P.O.V.

"You call that a hit? Come on, Malka! Hit me!" My significant other and I decided that we wanted some time alone today and thought we'd brush up on our fighting skills. But I gotta tell ya, Malka could use some help in that category.

"When you said you wanted us just to hang out today, I didn't think this is what you had in mind." When he said his last word, he took another swing at me and missed.

"Well, not every hang out has to be the same and you need some obvious help in this area."

"I just don't want to hurt you." He scoffed at me and laughed.

"Yea right! You just know that I'm better than you."

"No, it's because I don't want to hurt you. I take down the guys every time we practice, well, we take down each other, but out of rank, I'm second."

"And who's first?" I smarted off.

"Simba." He answered as if it should have already been in my head who was in the lead. I guess when you're royalty, you kind of do take the lead in most things.

"Well, you should be able to beat the best just like me."

"Just like you?" He started laughing and this made me mad.

"What's so funny Malka?!"

"Dude, it took you a while to be at the top. You weren't born in that position. Kula had beaten you lots of times and so did B." I didn't appreciate him bringing up the past and besides, this was about him.

"So. With you being male and a protector of the Pridelands, you have to be able to beat everybody, including me, which, you're not doing now."

"Really, T?" He gave me a tired look and I raised my eyebrows at him.

"Yes really. Because if we were to get attacked now, I'd have to protect myself because you'd be on the gro-" With that, he had knocked me down and we skid a bit on my back and when I tried to swing at him, he simply lifted his head and then brought it paw down on mine and then proceeded to block me from any way of getting him. Trying to wiggle in any direction I could, I began to get frustrated with him, but mostly myself for being caught off guard. Being caught off guard is a wonderful way to lose in a fight and I was not about to go down like. Once the idea popped in my head, I then headed butted him and he roared back in pain and I stood to my feet and got in an attack position.

"Nice one, babe. Is that all you got though? You hit like a girl." I gasped angrily at his words and rushed towards him, but he side swiped me and stuck his paw out to trip me and I didn't dodge it in time.

"Ugh! Dammit, Malka!" He now bursted with laughter and I rolled to my feet again. Had I really underestimated him? He couldn't really be this good could he?

"I told you, T, I'm pretty close to Simba when it comes to fighting. You're not going to win." I roared out loud and started to circle him and he wasn't really watching my every move, but when I did eventually move, he knew just what to do to get me in yet another lock. I had tried to attack him from behind, but he somehow managed to duck in time while I flew over him, but during that, he had grabbed my foot and pulled me back towards him to where I was under him and quickly put me in a head lock. His arm was under my neck and was pulling it back and my eyes were wide.

"Ok! Ok!" I choked out, but he didn't let me up!

"Are you convinced now?" His tone was playful yet he was serious.

"Yes! Malka, please!" He released me and I took in a deep breath. I knew he wouldn't choke me choke me, let alone hurt me on purpose, but he would get his point across and I now regretted teasing him and weirdly enough, I was more attracted to him. As I slowly stood to my feet, I looked back at him and he had a giant smirk on his face and I eyeballed him.

"What?!"

"Say it." I growled. I didn't fully appreciate anyone being better than me and I was a horrible sport if I lost at competition.

"No."

"Come on, T…be fair now." I looked up at the sky defiantly, but then he was in my space and I didn't like it.

"Get out of my bubble!"

"Make me." I rolled my hazel eyes away from him and he kissed me.

"You're so cute when you're angry."

"Ugh!" I went to smack him, but he caught my arm in his paw and pulled me towards him and our mouths touched. I can't STAND HIM!

"Get mmph." I said muffled and he continued to mess with me.

"Huh? What was that?" He had pulled back and right when I was about to repeat what I said, he kissed me again. I knew the game he was playing I wouldn't be able to back out of it even if I tried. He knew me well and knew that I actually liked this.

"Geez! Get a room!" We unlatched from one another and look in the direction of the voices of laughter. Kula, Chumvi, Burundi, and Tojo, were on a hill looking down at us dying of laughter.

"Aww come on! You don't want to join?!" My light orange lion shouted back.

"No thanks! Mating balls aren't really our thing!" Burundi had shouted back and all of us laughed for it reminded us of when we had come across a ball of snakes when we were cubs and had no clue what they were doing and Tojo's mom had found us and ushered us away. When we were older, she told us what had happened that day and we all blushed like we were cubs again. We didn't mean to see that.

"Yea, I think once was enough for us."

"We agree! Now go away! It's just me and him today!" I told them off playfully and they waved goodbye.

"Just us huh? Well, I am wanting to hear more of the 'yes, Malka please'…" I looked at him appalled and narrowed my eyes at him.

"Excuse me?"

"Oh, Malka please, please!" He was teasing me in a whiny desperate voice in his attempt at mocking me earlier when he was choking me, but now, I just wanted to strangle him.

"I'm going to hurt you!" I chased him now and I wasn't going to stop until I repaid him for what he did.

Kula P.O.V.(The Next Day)

"Hey girls." I walked up to my group of girlfriends, for I had just left hanging out with Chumvi.

"What's up, Ku? How was your time with Chumvi?" I sat down beside Nala and looked up at the sun.

"Oh, it was nice. Hadn't done it in a while." When I noticed there was silence, I looked at my friends and they all had smiling faces, but why?

"What? Why are you all looking at me like that?"

"You know…" Tama's tone was condescending and I didn't appreciate her taunting me.

"No, I don't."

"Come on, Kula, we're all of age." I gave Burundi a quizzical look and all she did was smile. What was their deal? I decided to ask Nala, feeling that she would be my best bet on what the problem was.

"Nala, what are they talking about? Of age for what?" She glanced at me out the side of her eye.

"You really don't get it do you?" I shook my head 'no' and gave her that 'duh' attitude.

"Well hell," Tama laughed, "if she's not getting this, they probably didn't. Probably wouldn't know where to put what." At that, they all laughed, even Nala. And these three call themselves my friends. Did they really think I was that slow? Ha! Jokes on them.

"You guys are dumb! No, Chumvi and I didn't do anything. But of course you three would because you've probably already done it." Now their mouths dropped open.

"Ya know, we should know by now to not underestimate the 'quiet one'. She's the one who'd go psycho kill than the rest of us."

"Yes, and also Tama, you should have learned from yesterday to keep your trap shut thinking no one can beat you." I counter acted with her remark and she looked as if I had slapped her in the face. Malka had told the guys what happened the other day and when Chumvi and I were together, he told me what was said. I now had one up on Tama.

"Take that back, Kula!" I smiled, closed my purple eyes, and shook my head.

"Nope."

"You're supposed to be on my side!" I opened an eye and looked at her.

"I am T, but if you try to say you're better than everyone, I'll just have to remind you and pray that Malka won't be in the mist next time." The hair tufted lioness narrowed her eyes at me.

"Well played, Ku, well played."

"So, Nala, we heard you and Simba finally spoke the other night." Burundi asked and now all of our attention was on Nala and she looked at the ground.

"Um…yea uh, yea we did…"

"And…" I enquired. I could tell that it may not have been a very good meeting because her facial expression gave away everything.

"We're just going to take it a day at a time."

"A day at a time? What does that mean, Nala? You can't possibly be considering what Hasani said to you." Tama was trying to keep her anger under wraps, but I knew she wouldn't be able to keep it down for long.

"I'm-I'm not. I'm just waiting it out a bit longer just to make sure." The aqua eyed lioness still wasn't making eye contact with anyone, but did when Tama stood up.

"Ya know, Nala, you wait too long and Simba keeps coming up empty handed, he's sure to find another well and that's going to leave you: high, dry, and ready to cry…bye." Our friend left us without saying anything else and Nala just starred in her direction.

"You know she's right, La." Burundi finally spoke up and glanced in the love struck lioness's direction, who was back to looking at the ground.

"I know, but, I like to give everyone a fair opportunity, B. What if he has changed and what if Simba and Maeva could work things out. What if we're all wrong about everything?"

"I thought you loved Simba?"

"I do, Kula, but-"

"But what?! You're not making any sense, Nala. You're flip flopping like Maeva and trust me, we don't need two of them." I exasperated and I kind of felt bad because I hardly raised my voice at anyone.

"I didn't want things to be like this!" She stood up and Burundi and I followed suit, "I didn't ask for any of this!"

"We know that, Nala, but you can't play both fields. You have to choose a side and soon."

"I know and I will." For a long time we all stayed quiet, but I went to let them know I had to meet Chumvi soon.

"I'll catch up with you guys later, I have to go meet Chum."

"Bye, Kula." They said in unison and I left. I really didn't like Nala playing Simba the way she is right now. I know she sees what a good guy he is and I know that she sees what kind of guy Hasani is. Why is she doing this?

Asana P.O.V.

"Asana, please!"

"Leave me alone, Abasi…" This guy has been like a damn cub, following me around all day and I'm getting pretty annoyed.

"Just talk to me!" I stopped and whipped around to him, my eyes full of fury and my brows increased.

"Talk? Now you want to talk? Abasi, I have tried to talk to you one too many times. I'm all talked out!"

"I need you to hear me out…Please!"

"Hear you out? I've been hearing you out and it's the same crap: I'm a male, I have to do this this and this. I need this this and this. Change the tune." I started walking again, not wanting to hear anymore.

"That's what I mean. I've thought about what all you said and what I've done to you." I just closed my eyes and shook my head, "I need you!" Stopping in my tracks, my breathing slowly increased. Why did he want to do this to me now? And if I ever did decide to go back, who is to say he wouldn't go back to doing what he was doing before.

"You need me huh?"

"Yes." I still hadn't faced him and when he realized I wasn't going to, he came around so he could look at me, "Asana…" I slowly glanced up at him with a cautious look. I could tell since I haven't been paying him any mind for the past few months, he's already aged.

"No, you don't." I tested him just to see what he'd say.

"Yes, I-"

"Abasi!" We looked in the direction of the pride slut, Rahisi, and I knew all along that they had relations and I can see why, she was very pretty, and young.

"What do you want?! I'm busy!" His temperament had changed within an instant and I looked at him with vivid irritation while his mouth hung open.

"But I've been waiting for you for over an hour!"

"So wait for another! I'm busy with my queen!" At this, the girl scoffed and I rolled my eyes. He had still been messing around, so I know he didn't miss me or need me.

"Oh, now she means something to you? You didn't care before!" See!? Even the females here know I've been pushed aside and walked on by him to where they don't even show me respect. The nerve of this girl!

"I'm out of here." I started to make my departure.

"Asana, wait!" He grabbed my back leg and I growled.

"Abasi!"

"Shut your mouth! Go away until I need you!"

"But I need you!" I all of a sudden jerked my body so I could smack my king in the face with an open clawed paw and he reeled back in pain.

"Don't you ever touch me again! I'm done with you. You leave me alone."

"You didn't have to hit me!"

"And you didn't have to treat me like I was nothing." I hissed the last word and he closed his mouth. He knew I was right and I knew that he wouldn't change. He was already too set in his ways. I needed to go and clear my head. I don't know why that every time I have an encounter with him, I get all riled up and want to kill him. Maybe it's all the times and years he's done me wrong and all my emotions were finally able to be free. I feel so, so…liberated! I can be myself again and not have to answer to anyone and not be tied down.

"Hey, Beautiful." I hadn't even realized I ran into Mansa.

"Hey!"

"You seem awfully cheerful. What's up?" He chuckled a bit and I blushed. I did enjoy getting attention from him and it felt right.

"I am. Just went off on my 'mate' again." I answered him with a bright smile and he shook his head while laughing at me.

"My firecracker." I felt like one. Just being released out into the wild.

"He tried to tell me that he needed me, but then got caught off guard by his 'lady in waiting'." Mansa made an 'oh wow' face and I laughed, "Yep."

"Dang, got set up by his own set up. That's gotta hurt."

"He was going to get hurt if h didn't let go of me-"

"He hurt you!?"

"No, no," I giggled that he had got upset just now, "He tried to stop me from leaving, but he was gentle, but I did end up hitting him."

"Well…good…" he looked off in a direction, I guess hoping to see the deranged lion.

"Relax, Mansa. I'm fine." He looked back at me with a slick smile.

"I know you are, but that's not the point." I gave him a coy look and tried my best not to smile.

"I can't stand you."

Ok guys! Long chapter and I had to kind of cut it short because I was trying to decide what all to put in here, but I think you guys will have enjoyed it! Much love to you all and leave some good reviews!
