Here we are...close to the ending. This is the update... love you guys for all the kind reviews. Plus you all should feel extremely grateful I am updating this story so quickly. Just kidding.
A bit of language in this chapter. I'm reading Allegiant and its so confusing and full of all these different feels, oh man. I don't want it to end though.
Anyways here is the chapter, enjoy.
I don't own PJO or the Vow
Annabeth.
"How dare you!" I yelled to my father who just got home all day, and was standing at the bottom of the stairs with Malcolm, who was getting ready to leave for his honeymoon.
"Annabeth what are you talking about?" My father questioned.
"How could you do that to Mom!" I screamed.
"Annabeth, Mom is dead." Malcolm said.
"I know that! I'm talking about when we were children. How could you hurt her like you did?" My dad's eyes got wide.
"Annabeth..."
"Dad what is she talking about?" Malcolm asked. My father had a worried expression. I wondered if he knew about the affair and everything. I'm guessing that I never told him.
"Tell him Dad. Tell him how when we were children, you would hit our mother. Our own mother! You would beat her and then sleep with another woman!" I was so furious. Furious for what he did to my mom, furious for not remembering this sooner. I was furious that he was back in my life. But I couldn't leave. I had no where else to go. I wasn't going to go back to Percy, because he was still a stranger in my mind.
"Dad, is that true." Malcolm asked, disgust all over his face. My dad nodded, and then the door opened and Luke strolled in with a smile on his face.
"Hey Annie." He said walking to give me a hug. I backed away, into the railing of the staircase.
"Stay away from me." I practically growled.
"What's going on?" Luke asked, all innocent.
"I'm just finding out that my father used to hit my mother." Malcolm said to Luke, like it was obvious. Maybe it was. I wondered if Luke knew about it. Malcolm turned back to my father. "How could you do such a thing. Such an innocent woman who did nothing wrong. You made it seem like it was her fault she left. When really she was just trying to escape you."
"Malcolm, Annabeth listen..." My father started.
"Mr. Chase how could you do such a thing?" Luke questioned.
"Are you fucking serious!" I shouted.
"Annabeth, language." My dad said. I glared at him and continued to yell at Luke. "You act so innocent! That is positively disgraceful! You act so disgusted at what my father did to my mother, yet you are no better! What about all the times you hit me Luke? I bet you cheated on me too. Why though? Because you didn't get the chance to screw me? It was such a big deal to you? Why is it such a big deal now too?" I was fuming. Malcolm seemed to be too.
"Annabeth, I only hit you once, and it was a an accident. I was angry with the whole Percy situation. I was afraid you still loved him." He sounded so convincing through his lies, yet I knew better.
"Oh cut the bullshit Luke. I remember what you did to me! It wasn't just one small slap. It was two after I told you to get away from me. It was three when I pushed you off of me. It was four slaps and a punch to the stomach when I decided to break up with you. You act like everyone is a monster when really it's you!"
"Luke is this true?" My father asked. I turned to him now. "Oh you can't say anything either! How many times did you beat Mom before she decided to get out. How many months were you having sex with that witch in the bed you shared with her?" All my anger was coming back to me now. All my hatred for him, and now again for Luke.
"Annabeth, I don't know what was wrong with me. I was sick and I didn't know how to handle myself."
"You were sick alright" Malcolm was the one to speak up this time. "You too Luke. If you ever try to go near my sister again, I will beat the crap out of you. I'm not afraid to do it."
"Annie...please you need to understand."
"What do I need to understand Luke? What? That you decided to hit me, a seventeen year old because she wouldn't screw around with you? I don't see any logic what so ever. There is no way to change what you did, and make me understand."
"I was just so in love with you, and I wanted to prove it too you." It was all lies.
"Bullshit. Did it ever occur to you that I wasn't in love with you back anymore? That I didn't want to sleep with you? Or are you just so self centered and thought you were a god and anyone who looked at you just wanted you to do them. Well you aren't. You need to accept it." I took a deep breath. I wasn't done yet though. "And to think the two of you took advantage of me while I lost my memory to try to make me seem like everything between us was perfect.
"I just wanted my daughter back." My father said. Luke nodded. "You were the best part of my life." I just rolled my eyes.
Malcolm looked at me. "Did you fully recover your memory?"
I shook my head sadly. Now the last memory I had was of going back to my mom's apartment. Then it was like hitting a wall of nothing. Just blank after that. "No." I said.
"Annabeth. The only reason I didn't tell you the truth was because I was so happy to have our family together again. It was the best few weeks of my life to see you again. The old you, the one who didn't hate me for my reckless and stupid acts. You seemed to glow while back here, a light in your eyes that wasn't there the last time I had seen you."
"Well the reason I didn't have a light in my eyes was probably because I was getting hit by my boyfriend." I said venomously.
"And I'm sorry for that. But I am talking about two years ago you agreed to come meet with me. You still were so mad at me and I didn't know why. You left so soon and I soon realized your mother probably told you. It broke my heart to see you like that, and I didn't want you to experience it again." He words seemed truthful and actually meant something unlike when Luke had spoken.
"I just wanted my Annie back." Luke said. I looked over at him. "Do not call me that!" I spat, then composed myself again. "I'm not going to forgive you for what you did. Ever. So I'd advice that you leave immediately. He didn't question me though. Luke just turned around, opened the front door and left. Good riddance I thought to myself. I then let myself fall back onto the stars and put my head in my hands. Eventually I looked up and turned to my father.
"I may eventually be able to forgive you. Now though, you have to give me my space. I am going to try to find a job or something, then get an apartment. If I ever can." I stood up and walked over to Malcolm. "I'm not going to forget about you this time."
"Just like how you didn't forget your whole life?" He asked, his tone comical. I slapped him on the arm. "I'll miss you." I stood on tip toes and kissed his cheek. "Love you." He smiled. "I love you too, sis." He picked up his luggage that was in the living room and made his way out the back door.
I was about to leave, so it wasn't too awkward standing there, just when the doorbell rang. I thought it was going to be Luke coming back to vouch for himself, but when I opened the door I was surprised who I had saw.
It was the goth girl, Thalia, and the scrawny red head, Grover.
"Hi." I said, confused as why they were there. My mind suddenly raced to the thought of Percy. Did something happen to him?
"Hey, sorry to intrude on you, but we have some, uh, divorce papers here." Grover said. Thalia pulled a small stack of papers out of her bag. "Percy already signed them. The attorney needs you to, and the court case will be in two weeks. I'll call you to tell you the exact date." I nodded and reached out to take the papers from her. I couldn't believe Percy had done this so quickly. It had only been a week since the wedding, and he already had divorce papers? I must have hurt him terribly.
The were about to leave when Thalia turned back to me and leaned in. "Is that your dad?" She asked. I nodded. She looked at him, waved to him with just one exact finger and then shut the door behind her. I chuckled slightly.
"Divorce papers, huh?" My dad questioned and I just glared at him. I walked past him and went up to my room dropping the papers off on dresser. I would sign them in the morning. I wonder how hard it was for Percy to have to sign them. I guess it just needed to be done.
I walked into my spare bathroom, to change into some pajamas so I could crawl into bed. It was only 7 o'clock but my eyes felt like lead. I changed and walked back into my room, turning off the lamp, and slipped under my blankets. The minute my head hit the pillow I was asleep.
I woke up suddenly my head pounding and I looked at the clock. 1:24. I was breathing heavily, and one thought popped into my head.
"Percy." I said out loud.
Ohhh here is the chapter. The cliffhanger. What does it mean? What will happen!'
PS. Im so sorry I had to leave you with another cliffhanger...it just had to be done, you'll be happy I did it.
Hope you liked the chapter, I'm so happy you all liked this story and I'm sad I have to bring it too an end in the next chapter.
