"Ms. Hale, we can't help you unless you tell us what happened."
Rose is shaking.
"I'm- you have to understand that I'm still in shock, here."
"We understand that, but we need to know the details of this incident.
"Officer—" Edward cuts in. "Can you give us a couple of minutes."
The officer nods and tells us he'll be back in five minutes.
I'm the first person to say something.
"Rose, we know that there is a part of you that loves him, but what he did to you was sick. You have to press charges."
"I will, I'm just- this is a lot in one night, but I'm really glad that you guys are here." She clears her throat and then continues.
"My dad is coming by, you know?"
Both my eyebrows and Edward's shoot up because we rarely hear about Rose's father, but of course he would have to come if something like this happened. I'm glad. Everyone should have their parents in these times.
"That's nice, Rose. Let's go ahead and take care of everything before he gets here, so you guys can just hang out," Edward says softly.
Rose sighs, but agrees to talk to the officers.
Edward and I decide to sit on a bench outside of the hospital when Rose's dad finally arrives.
I love holding Edward's hand. It's something that I've wanted to do for a long time, and it's nice finally getting to do it.
"I'm glad I get to see you, but I hate that it's for this."
"Me too, but what's important is that we're both here for Rose. I just really want to kill Royce-" Edwards voice catches in his throat and his head drops down into his hands. When his shoulders start shaking that's when I really get it.
Edward is crying.
Edward is crying
Edward never cries.
I wrap my hands around him the best I can. "It's going to be okay, honey. I promise."
He nods, but his sobs don't stop. I try to think of something to say, but then I realize that I need to let him do this.
I need to let Edward cry.
A/N Hey guys! another chapter coming today.
